I've been bad about updating this blog with new patterns, so as of October 2024, here is everything I offer! All are patterned directly from antique garments in my collection (or collections I was given permission to work with).
Most are sizes XL, XXL, and/or 1X, and I have a couple down to S and several up to 3X.
All patterns have detailed size info in the listing, but for general labels I use this size chart.
Available on Etsy here!
I also have several free corset and brassiere patterns from antiques, 1870s-1920s (graded sizes are available for purchase).
Next pattern up, currently in testing, is this stunning ensemble....

(Should be available by December.)
Happy sewing!!

The elaborate red and green paisley pattern, adapted from antique Indian patterns, was created by stenciler Cile Lord and designer Gina Beadle for a renovated barn... Above it is a softer trellis and vine design.

This weekend I have started the rather ambitious project of tatting this yoke from the Priscilla Yoke Book(1916) from the antique pattern library. I'm probably going to change the pattern a bit for my purposes, we'll see how long it takes me to get this somewhere I'm happy with!

I am making a doily upsized to be a circle shawl. The original pattern is meant to be 37” across, and is from “Corticelli: Lessons in Crochet” published in 1919 by the Nonotuck Silk Company. It is now to best knowledge in the public domain, and I found the PDF on Antique Pattern Library dot org.
The original pattern is for a table centerpiece.

As one might expect, there are some challenges in following a 105 year old pattern. Certain terminology has shifted slightly. Thankfully there is a proper glossary at the start of the book. However, some instructions don’t line up as I would expect. For example, a row early on that instructs to “ch 4, so 2, sc” would, in a modern reading, to leave those two skipped stitches empty and put the sc in the 3rd. A few rows later, though, the stitches stopped mathing out. I ended up having to go back to the supplied pattern image for visual stitch forensics: zooming in, counting the chain spaces, and realizing I was meant to put that sc in the second chain.
Three cheers for math. Anyway, so far here is what I’ve got, on row 12 out of 60.

This morning I thought it was Thursday for a moment and panicked. I never could get the hang of Thursdays, and this week’s Thursday is going to be more of a challenge for me than most.
Thankfully it is Wednesday, which means I ask to see your WIP of whatever it may be.

Bride from Staré Město in an old type of braiding and a reconstructed costume from before 1900.
The minute I saw this kroj, the yellow counted thread embroidery on the collar and shoulders reminded me of some patterns from Thérèse De Dillmont’s 1934 Czecho-Slovakian Embroideries.

Reminder that almost any truly vintage and antique knit or crochet pattern can be found FREE on many sites including:
On both internet archive and project gutenburg it helps to know what book or magizine you are looking for but you can still do a regular vague key word search and find something.
Even your local library and ravelry might have antique pattern books on file! On ravelry you will have to exclude all purchasable patterns instead of just looking for free for some reason, then get past the first page or two of patterns people thought "looked antique" but once you get to the black and white photos you are golden!
So please don't buy an etsy shop's antique pattern when there is really no reason to, and if you are one of those selling these patterns, know I am judging you big time!

i get that injuries sometimes just happen, and with the insane schedules that players' have, strain sometimes happens. but the problem is that lamine is a CHILD, whose muscles and body are still developing and needs rest and recovery differently than a grown man. also, don't get me started on dlf's unwillingness to learn and cavalier mindset on football. the game has changed, and he has not, and our players have paid for it.

Newest pattern in testing is from a pair of fabulous 1790s stays from the Maryland Center for History & Culture (1951.28.11) that have a 38.5” (99cm) bust.
I made a mockup and my 42” bust is about an inch too big, so they’re firmly size large and have some leeway for XL.
Bottom photos are the original garment and top photos are my mockup. ❤️
Pattern should be up on Etsy by late June 2025. 🫡

Typical French esprit permeates the living room, whose walls and floors are jovial with pattern. Two-hundred-year-old ceiling timbers, hearth and wood paneling are complemented by two eighteenth-century love seats. One armchair wears a loose-fitting white slipcover, customary dress for summer in France.
