I struggle with the greater majority of AUs honestly!! Part of what I love about this fandom is how claustrophobic it is. Characters who would never look at each other twice in any other situation are thrown together and forced to become some kind of family. It's hard to capture that in any other situation because we are not often confined to such a small amount of space long-term in our daily lives. Add in the fact that a lot of the character development comes from the boiling point of being confined somewhere against your will for doing nothing but living your life, as well as the growing level of trauma they experience the longer they are in Korea. How does the creator of the AU go about representing that same development? That's incredibly important to me.

That being said, I never go in for high school/college AUs at all. I will never read an AU where BJ and Peg never met/fell in love/got married because of how vital their marriage is to me, just like I don't read fics where they separate/divorce and will barely ever read ones where they are in a lavender marriage. Noir is a big thing here but that genre has never captured me in any form, so I don't read those. I am sorry to be such a picky downer ;v; It's miraculous that I got caught up in foxtrap madness at all because 9 times out of 10 when AUs get brought up, I will often just evaporate silently in the ship channel and let everyone else have at it haha.

   etienne ‘ marcel ’ fluor was born in montpellier, france to two lovely parents, theodore and estelle fluor ( both born in england themselves ) . he is the youngest of his siblings, having one older brother and an older sister, all of them being roughly two years apart. at the age of eight, his family relocated to montreal, canada as a result of a promotion his mother received, which at such a young age, etienne had no qualms with, despite his siblings’ uneasiness.  upon moving to a new country at a young age, etienne truly found himself via escaping into various books and movies. often attempting to write his own and would force encourage his siblings to act his skits/plays out for his parents enjoyment. he continues to be very close with his parents and siblings - recently he taught his parents how to use facetime, so catch him face timing his family on sunday nights. 

   growing up, etienne also enjoyed playing all types of sports ( his parents signing him up hoping that he’d make friends as a result, which he did ). when it came down to it, athletic abilities-wise, there truly wasn’t anything that he wasn’t ‘ good ’ at, and that’s simply because he’s always been such a competitive individual / as well as a perfectionist. that competitive/perfectionist energy caused him to go home and practice a skill or trick for hours in order to be able to come back the next day and whoop everyone’s asses. overall, he’s very athletic, found alternating between various sports offered not only at school, but as well as through local clubs. ultimately, his love and appreciation for hockey swayed him and soon enough it became his sole focus. due to his perfectionist tendencies, etienne is very dedicated to his craft, he will spend hours practicing specific tricks and skills in order to be the best at what he does, which transcends past hockey and into, really, every aspect of his life. 

   throughout highschool ; etienne was a v dedicated student. although he’s a bit reckless and loved to goof off, he was always acing classes and applying himself. he genuinely cares for others, you could’ve seen his ass volunteering at a soup kitchen with his mom on sundays and what not, as well as take part in various clubs and sports ! just SOFT and sporty things. during this time, he joined the ontario hockey league and from there was eventually scouted out and recruited to the pittsburgh penguins as a defenseman at the age of eighteen - forgoing his parents desire for him to attend a university. although he enjoyed his time with pittsburgh, he was excited when the idea of being traded came up - eager to explore a new city and immerse himself in a new area. 

      trigger warning - injury, dislocation ( just in case !!!! ) however, he really didn’t enjoy new york ( hehe ), so he relocated to westmere soon after his initial arrival to nyc - finding a lot of comfort in living in a less populated area. he would commute during the hockey season to nyc, which to him wasn’t very far away, so this is where he’s been residing for the last three years !! however, in the last couple of weeks while training for the upcoming season my lil bb injured himself - not to get into tooooo much detail, i’ll just leave it at shoulder dislocation / joint separation due to a hard hit !! basically he’s out for this upcoming season, already having surgery completed, he’s currently healing for the next couple of months, allowing himself to fully experience that westmere fall !!!

   overall, etienne can come off as a bit reserved, and distant whether that be a result of his untrusting nature of others, or simply unfamiliarity. it takes a bit of time before he feels comfortable to share his true opinion / commentary / only doing so when he feels secure to do so. he’s not necessarily unfriendly, just a bit distant / lost in his thoughts. which varies, as with most ppl ofc, upon person to person and his level of comfortability among them. despite his often lack of conversation, he abhors an uncomfortable silence to settle and will fill it with nonsense to simply avoid the feeling altogether. so, if you ever want to catch him rambling, just making him uncomfortable dkjfngdf. he definitely approaches most things with a bit of ‘ tough love ‘ . he doesn’t mind getting into a quarrel or two if he knows its worth the outcome he’s envisioned. etienne will tell others when they are fucking up, and if they are throwing a punch as a result - catch him leaning into it, which explains his bout of reckless antics. he can come off as a know it all, when it comes to advice giving, but more so because he thinks he’s really good at analyzing others and situations they are in, not necessarily because he’s lived through them himself, he’s just rather intuitive and able to empathize quite easily with others despite his verbal admittance of it. when it comes down to this binches reckless bits, he just feels so intensely that he ends up numbing himself in the aftermath of it all ( especially bc he’s definitely not sharing those feelings with the people around him ), therefore he’s willing to put himself into harms way in order to get a bit of that - happiness / pain, it doesn’t matter to him as long as he no longer feels overwhelmed by numbness. so, if ya see him with some scrapes and stitches ~ mind ya business. but he’ll likely try to drag somebody else into it, and make it seem like it was their idea. but if he is truly comfortable with somebody, he walks a fine line of won’t stop talking, especially if it’s an interest of his, and comfortable silence.

that was getting ramble-y, so continuing HERE. but when it comes to romance, as per the cancer man, the concept of love is a mystery, one that etienne is trying to attain. however, his shyness and innate distrust of others make it difficult for him to allow himself to fall in love. his guard is always up when it comes to his emotions, and it’ll take a bit of prodding before he’s willing to speak up on what’s desired from him. he’s v picky when it comes to finding the “ partner of his dreams “ - but he’s def willing to throw himself into the romance of the situation, i.e. buying flowers, riding white horses, and slaying metaphorical dragons. the traditional side means that he will shower his partner with thoughtful gifts, wine and dine them in the best restaurants, and try to grant their every wish. he will take the garbage out, fix that wobbly shelf, navigate on road trips, and kill more so trap and release bugs for his partner, and most important of all he will do it all without being asked. his loyalty and keen attention to the needs and wants of his potential partner. so basically, more so willing to showcase through actions than speak on it. it’s the little things, right ??!?!?! he def cherishes not just the act of being in a relationship, but what it means to become one with another person in mind, body, and soul.

prides himself on being able to make a mean cup of coffee, likely the worst person to watch a movie with bc he knows exactly how it’s going to end after only watching five minutes of it, he has a godawful sense of direction, will walk in circles for fifteen minutes before even raising a question about it/noticing ( but he refuses to acknowledge it. )

his house, car, workspace, junk drawer, closet….you name it - it’s organized, practically sparkling. often times arranged by color, and / or style. nothing is ever out of place, and if it is - there’s trouble brewing. but, more than anything, if he’s visiting somebody’s place and it’s messy, he will spend a solid thirty minutes picking everything up before doing whatever it is that was intended.

likes : reading, flowers, handwritten notes/letters, deep cleaning, baking, working on his pottery, watching the history channel and true crime docs and playing / watching hockey !!

dislikes : artichoke, clutter, sandals ( fkjgh ), unrealistic plotlines in movies &+ burnt coffee.

habits :  likely has a severe caffeine addiction, although he’s now normalized having six cups of coffee throughout his day. he’s an early riser, no matter how little the amount of sleep he’s received, he’s always the first to rise - for his early morning runs !!

strengths: creative, insightful, inspiring, convincing, determined and passionate, decisive, altruistic, intuitive !!

weaknesses: sensitive, extremely private, perfectionist, low-key always needs to have a cause / purpose, can burn out easily !!

overall : etienne truly strives to be kind, and genuinely wants for everyone to get along. treat people with kindness and the like. he has the best of intentions, but often times that can get a bit muddled with the way he goes about things due to his bit of chaotic energy / as well as his often points of getting lost in his thoughts. he won’t realize he’s been quiet for the last three hours unless it’s mentioned to him. he will do anything to lighten a dark mood, and will sacrifice / throw himself under the bus if its needed. however, he also is the type to cause the dark mood depending on the day. wahoo! his more reckless antics increase when he’s feeling a bit emotional !! but he’ll likely try and convince somebody to propose the idea so it’s not on him.

he lives with sebastian !! with his commuting to nyc for the hockey season, he wanted somebody to be able to take care of his house / garden and what not, and thus, seb arrived.

he’s v into making ceramics, cups / bowls / vases / etc !! what began as a fun hobby to distract himself in the offseason became something that he truly enjoys. ( laughing about that scene in ghost BUT DKJFNG OKAY ) although he’s pretty low-key about it, you can catch him at the farmers market selling his creations !! some pictures of his work can be found on his pinterest board !!

he is a vegetarian ! he has been since his freshman year of high school and has no plans on eating seafood/meat ever again.

he loves fancy wine ~ he’s cultured. 

he can play the drums !!

he collects vintage matchbooks and the stickers off of various fruits ( he puts them in a little notebook - can be found on his bookshelf ).

( 2 / 2 ) - BFFZ : the z for an added emphasis dkfjgnd. somebody who likely has a key to etienne’s house, they can enjoy one anothers company as well as the bouts of comfortable silence. you know how best friends are but kdjfngd still !! whether they are likeminded or polar opposites that just flow ~~ down for anything !! even a trio of sorts ?!

( 1 / 1 ) - RIDE OR DIE / CHAOTIC COMPANION : it would be wrong to say one is the more likely the bad influence over the other, although etienne may just be. these two find themselves bounding into, well hell, ( i guess??? ) together. playing on one anothers impulsiveness and if one ends up in the back of a police car, the other is handcuffed to them. and yet despite the length of their potential injuries, they find themselves thinking of something crazier to subject them to the next time around.

( 1 / 1 ) - GUARDIAN ANGEL / GOOD INFLUENCE : with etienne being a bit chaotic in nature, he needs somebody that is likely going to steer him clear from all the ideas that’ll bring him to the brink of disaster. he’s impulsive and in that desperate attempt to feel again, he’s very likely to bring a bit of mayhem upon himself. so while they may be worrying and attempting to talk his ideas down, he’s trying to get them to go along with his plan. it may be rare that he actually takes their advice, but when he does it seems to be for the best.

( 1 / 1 ) - PARTY FRIEND : these two know how to have a good time together. despite the amount of alcohol they are throwing back and the shenanigans they find themselves in as a result, this is a time where they also find themselves confiding in one another. if you look at their camera rolls, it’s likely they have tons of embarrassing and unflattering videos and pics of one another, in between their sob-worthy confessionals and venting/rants. these two trust one another, and although they love getting wreckT together, they find themselves discussing very raw and personal details. likely the only person etienne confides in, simply bc he’s completely plastered.

( 1 / 1 ) - SIBLING-LIKE RELATIONSHIP : these two have a love/hate relationship, very sibling like filled with pranks, competition, teasing and playful banter. however, when it comes down to it they have so much love and respect for one another. they know that no matter what happens they will always have one anothers back and be supportive of the other. truly a pure content filled relationship.

okay quick mention, ENEMY PLOTS ?!?!?!?!?!? i would live for one. i can’t imagine etienne being hardcore nasty, but i’d like to see whatever version comes out for this. so let’s get it djfngjakdfg maybe they just hold different viewpoints on the world and what not and clash, anything really !!! v open !!

A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?

He’s a very physically affectionate guy   ---  to be honest, Buck craves physical touch, with the intimacy and reassurance it brings with it. He’s the sort of person who needs to be around people. This can simply be spending time with them, giving them his attention and enjoying their company, or it can be very physical, like hugs, back slaps...  when Buck is keeping himself to himself, not touching or extending his attention outwards, that’s when something’s wrong.

B   :   BOUQUET.   does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?

He has no earthly clue which flowers go well together, but he has ones that he likes  ---  orange and white roses, daisies, bluebells. Those are the only flowers he’ll be able to identify, and if he’s giving a bouquet, those are the flowers he’ll pick...  even if they’re a bit of an eyesore.

C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

He’s a health food enthusiast, but...  okay, listen. Chocolate and bananas? Wow, what a combo. Chocolate and strawberries? Brilliant. Chocolate and nuts? He’s sold.

D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

Let’s go to a sports game! Maybe Buck’s on the field, waving at his partner from the stands; maybe he isn’t, and they can both be very enthusiastic audience members! Buck would love a partner who’s interested in sports, and who can find enjoyment in roaring crowds and a charged atmosphere. This is the environment where Buck thrives, and he’d love to share a bit of it with his partner.

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

He doesn’t just hug, he lifts. Doesn’t matter who it is  ----  maybe it’s his old elementary school teacher, maybe it’s his best friend, maybe it’s his grandma. You could be a seven foot tall professional athlete, and it doesn’t matter. Buck will lift your ass off the ground.  (That said, he’s very enthusiastic about his hugs   ---   if the term “generous hugger” exists, it describes Buck to a tee.)

F   :   FLIRT.   is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?

Buck’s got the sort of personality that just draws people to him; even in the middle of a crowded room, it’s hard not to notice him, not just because he towers over so many other people there. He’s got a big presence, and this helps immensely when shooting his shot. A smile, an easy icebreaker, some light conversation...   it doesn’t take Buck much more than that.

G   :   GIFT.   is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?

He’s very...  deliberate about giving gifts. He puts a lot of thought into them, makes sure he has exactly the right things, and won’t give them until they’ve been packaged just right  (Buck is a star at wrapping presents, he could work in a department store).  He puts so much effort into his gifts that, even if they’re not exactly what the person wants, the heart is always there.

H   :   HEART.   is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?

He’s learned to be more cautious about it. Just because someone is bright and bounces off of him well doesn’t mean they’re the one; life (and a few sour breakups) have taught him to be less trusting. Still, when someone’s won his heart  ---  not a very hard task  ---  losing that person hurts like hell.

I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

He says it casually, which can really take a partner off-guard. Like...  Buck will just blurt it out in public (“ohh, I love you”, or “see, this is why I love you!”) and not think anything of it, just as something to say, and not even realize if his partner is going full ‘!!!’ over it. Buck finds it a bit too easy to say...  but when he truly means the words, with all the emotion they entail, it’s obvious. He’ll pull his partner close and murmur them like a precious secret shared between the two of them alone...  a tender, fragile, thriving thing.

J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

...  yeah, bro. Yeah. Like, Buck’s a man’s man, okay? He’s got buddies he loves, buddies he trusts, whose backs he’d always have...  but he’s not dumb enough to leave his partner around them unattended. It’s not so much that he thinks his friends would make a move on them, or that his partner would be unfaithful... but he doesn’t trust other people. He knows how ravenous guys can be, especially if they’ve got nothing to lose. If he sees someone flirting with his partner, he’s going to intervene.

K   :   KISS.   is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?

He’s a very ambitious kisser, and this can get overwhelming for his partner very quickly. Sometimes Buck has to tone it down, just because he’s getting too worked up  ---   no, better not press that close, don’t put his hand there  ---  and with Buck, “just kissing” can turn to more very quickly. He’s capable of being an immaculate gentleman, though. When he’s gentle, he’s breathtaking. He’ll cup his partner’s jaw lightly, allowing his lips to brush over their own, as fluid as the tides ebbing in and out. Buck loves tucking his partner’s hair back, pacing his breaths to match their own, as he draws them a bit further in to get a better sense of them.

L   :   LOVE.   who does your muse love?

So many people!!  Oh gosh!!  Buck loves people, to be honest, so long as they’re not jackasses, criminals, or the opposing team. Buck has a lot of love to give, and frankly loves giving it.

M   :   MOONLIGHT.   is morning or night a more romantic setting?

He’s the sort of guy who finds early morning runs romantic. Gross.

N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?

He’s very, very physical  ---  not in a rough way, just that he wants to touch his partner constantly. Buck has done it in some weird places; not only is he adventurous, but he gets worked up really quickly, and sometimes just has to go for it. Is the sort of guy who’d try to do it on a coffee table, and have it break under his weight. Loves picking up his partner if he can, as much as he loves holding them  ---   is big on kissing up and down their neck, dragging his tongue along the arch of their carotid, mouthing at the shell of their ear until they’re moaning. Actually, Buck puts his mouth to use in lots of different ways, all with great skill. Laughs sometimes, right in the middle of an intimate moment, which can fracture the mood a bit...  but he always makes up for it. While he finds his own release very quickly, he loves to draw it out for his partner, pleasuring them for as long as possible  ---  that honestly gets him worked up all over again.

O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?

He absolutely does. Like, by no means would he call himself a poet, but he always writes the most genuine cards? His letters and notes are short, but he puts a lot of himself into them; he can be very eloquent in writing when he tries to be. 

P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

He’d love someone sporty, but that’s not necessarily a pre-requisite. What he absolutely does need is someone who knows how to have a good time  ---  someone who can laugh, roll with the punches, and find the joy in life, even when it’s not always obvious. Buck wants someone who can make his days a bit brighter. Someone career-focused would be great, but they need to have goals that align; Buck wants a family, and would be sure to establish that early-on in the relationship. Someone intelligent, who can hold their own in a conversation on important matters. Someone who isn’t shy about loving. He loves longer hair and wide hips, but he’s not picky.

Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

He really wants to, but, like...  if he were beat to it, it’d absolutely thrill him. Buck’s an overachiever, okay? He’s probably got a plan, definitely picks out the ring as soon as he knows his partner’s size, and is just waiting for the right moment. The last thing he’d expect is his partner pulling out their own ring before he even got the chance! He won’t admit it out loud, but in quiet moments, Buck does indulge in the fantasy of his partner proposing  ---  the two of them laying in a field somewhere, his partner twisting a blade of grass around his finger while asking if they can be each others’ forever...  it all ties into Buck’s genuine desire to be wanted, and he’d love that gesture from a partner. Then again, he also would love to do it himself, so...  two proposals? Can that be a thing? If anyone can make it a thing, it’s Buck.

R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

He’s very much a romantic. Buck has an indomitably romantic soul, and loves to show his partner a good time whenever possible. Little romantic surprises, like leaving notes for them to find or sneaking up on them with kisses, are his bread and butter.

S   :   SWEETHEART.   did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?

He had a lot of girls with crushes on him throughout middle school, and his share of high school girlfriends, but was never “in love” with any of them. If he was in love with anything in high school, it was sports.

T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?

He really does. Hasn’t found it yet, of course, but there’s someone out there for everyone. Love isn’t always easy; sometimes it hurts like hell; but when it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be, and then it’s nothing short of everything.

U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?

Heh heh heh...    y e a h .  No, he doesn’t want to talk about it.

V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

He loves it! With actual, genuine enthusiasm! Buck sees Valentine’s Day as a great opportunity to go all-out romancing his partner  ---  which he loves doing  ---  and, of course, always makes the night’s grand finale worth it.

W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?

Yes, please! Give him the white picket fence, 2.5 kids, domestic suburbia life! When it comes down to it, Buck’s dreams aren’t that complicated. He’s clever, he’s ambitious, but more than anything, he wants to be happy. He wants the sort of American Dream that’s always been idealized for him, which he doggedly believes in  ---  even if it takes a lot of effort sometimes. Getting married to the person of his dreams is absolutely part of the plan.

X   :   XOXO.   does your muse use / like pet names?

He’s not a big nicknamer, but he definitely appreciates them. Things like “sweetheart” and “baby” are his go-tos...  but hearing his partner say it back to him gives him a serious burst of endorphins.

Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?

Absolutely! But Buck is...  pleasant about it, for the most part. If he feels like his territory is being encroached upon, he’ll come up with an arm around his partner’s shoulder, smiling broadly, and diffuse the situation with a bit of that famous Buck Compton Charm. No harm, no foul, right? Who’d make the same mistake twice? Now, in a different situation  ---  say, if he sees someone he cares about being threatened  ---  Buck will be way less understanding.

Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?

He’s not a prude by any means, but prefers to reserve sex for committed relationships. He’s had...  several of those, about three, which adds up to a solid amount of experience. He’s definitely not in town to disappoint.

Updated GW to-do list: - Division of labour (we should really start saying when one of us starts working on something because otherwise we'll end up with redundancies since we think disturbingly alike) - the "chuck" problem: okay, tbh, it's more of an Ed Westwick problem than a chuck one. I don't know how you guys have reacted to the me too and time's up movements, but mine has been to cut all those men out of my sphere of entertainment, I even cut out "witch hunt", "not all men" type dudes, and "only fondled their breasts on tv and apologized for it" men (aka Ben Affleck), because time is up for all of you! Soz, not point, but since last October, Ed Westwick has been caught up in this, and thus far 3 women have accused him of ra.pe and a fourth of sexual misconduct. Now, I know it's not Chuck's fault that his portrayer is a ra.pist (allegedly), but there is still an issue with including his face, etc in aesthetics and gossip girl material because his face is that of a ra.pist's (allegedly). Tbh, I wanna leave him (Ed Westwick) out of material and only discuss Chuck and avoid showing his face or use a dreamcast instead, but like, I dunno what you guys wanna do. Chuck is a great character, although, early on, he was quite rap.ey, the character, and it does not help that his portrayer has since been revealed to be a ra.pist. Allegedly.

- also, going back up to the redundancy issues, I love both of your aesthetic collections and playlists, so for those, I was thinking for playlist, we should make one big playlist on spotify that's collaborative, so that everyone can add their music and it'll kind of be a huge explosion of musical tastes. But also, maybe have a collection that has a link on the group info for individual playlists for characters, and the group made by us and/or others. For aesthetic collections, basically the same idea with one big collaborative collection, and then that collection will have links to other collections (yes, I'm a little ocd).

- also, also, this is completely unrelated, but I was watching trevor noah's show and he made a joke about how much trump's male employees snitch and gossip like sht, but the woman haven't revealed squat. I was working on a draft of the group description to show you guys, and I was using a template of one of my old groups and rewriting stuff and changing it to suit our purposes and I realized how many freaking rules I have (I'm so picky), anyway, some of this stuff obvs won't be applicable (like, there's one about characters dying and I don't think we were planning on going that dark. although, serena was an accessory and chuck kind of killed his dad, so meh, maybe?) anyway, I wanted your opinions on what rules to keep and/or change:

✠ RULES AND GUIDELINES {GENERAL} ✠

I. Please be kind to each other. Your characters can be total jerks, but let us, the creators and/or writers be kind, polite, and respectful (aka, channel your inner Canadian guys). There will be absolutely ZERO tolerance of discrimination. You will be immediately removed from the group, and your actions will be documented and reported. PM me immediately if someone harasses you or you notice harassment between members. ⠀⠀Ia. If you want to be anonymous, for any reason, you can send in your complaints here {https://goo.gl/kbTXeU}, it's a google form, and it doesn't ask you verify your email, and the username option, is just an option, it's not required. If I need to make further contact/information from you regarding your concern, I'll make a group announcement vaguely describing your issue, and you can send in further information anonymously again. I'll be checking the form at least once a week.  

⠀II. I'm not giving this any specific rating, however, I will say, you're free to include whatever "adult" content you want, whether it be swears, gore, or the dirty stuff (I'm totally a mature, grown up adult guys). However, do be careful of polyvore's stupid censors, use workarounds like writing your story in google docs, or accents for swear words.  

⠀III. This is a non-elimination group,  but characters can die. It may be used for inactive members, or if you wanna kill 'em off or maybe revive as a ghost or something else. Permission will always be asked of the creator first (with the exception of characters belonging to inactive members, whose characters may be killed off as penalty).  

⠀IV. If you miss 3 consecutive contests (without informing me), you'll receive an "x", "|" will be used to break up non-consecutively missed contests, anyway, if you miss 3 in a row, that will open your character to be killed by either myself or other group members. You will be notified, but your permission will not be asked. If you wish to rejoin at a later date, and you character has not been killed off, simply pm me and continue with whatever contest is in progress. If your character has been killed off, you can re-audition with a new one, and I will transfer your points to your new character.

⠀V. Always pm me, your vodka aunt mod, if you feel you'll be unable to enter a contest, your reason doesn't matter. Just let me know you can't get your entry in, that way you won't receive an "X".

⠀VI. Plotting will be left open throughout the group, however, please establish a few of these before contests begin, and always ask permission when using someone else's character(s) and be sure to tag them in your sets. Please, PLEASE work with others, I hate when people just do their own thing in oc battle groups, this is a collaborative story, everyone's stories and ideas matter. I will call you out if I notice something that contradicts the connected story, and I will always, ALWAYS incorporate the stories of group members into the overall narrative. ⠀⠀VIa. Narrative precedence will always be given to the person who completely finishes the description of their set first.

✠ RULES AND REGULATIONS {FACECLAIMS} ✠

I'm quite picky about these, but I'm not gonna be pedantic about it this time. You do you. Having said that, there are still some rules and regulations, as well as a challenge.

⠀I. All faceclaims must be above the age of majority (that's 18+ nearly universally on the planet), there is an exception for child characters but all main OCs must be at least 18.

⠀II. All faceclaims MUST be professionals. They can be actors, models, even singers. However, they must be singers of some note signed onto a label company, like Taylor Swift, or my beloved Dima Bilan (who's also an actor. a good one. yes, I'm bragging). Your faceclaim CANNOT be someone insta-famous, youtubers, or tumblr tweens.

⠀III. Whilst I'm not going to reject any faceclaim on the pedantic basis of "I don't like them", there are some faceclaims that I will and for one reason, and one reason only. ⠀IV. The Challenge: a lot of us have certain fave fc's we use over and over again (I'm certainly guilty of that), so my challenge is for you to use a faceclaim you have never used before as your primary oc. This is gonna be based on the honour system, some of you guys I may know well, so I'll know if you're using your fave again, but others I may not, and I can't aggressively stalk everyone, so I won't call out anyone for not doing it. It's just a fun little challenge, worth 10 bonus points, if you opt to do it. But again, it's based on the honour system, I'm not gonna stalk anyone, but if I know you and you lie to me on the audition form. Who cooks:

Mysterio! Although Chameleon is objectively The Superior Cook thanks to the long years of being a servant to picky russian nobility BUT exactly because of that, he really doesnt enjoy it, even less when cooking for others and not just himself. So it is usually Beck who prepares meals (that are not bad either, they are just simpler) but as often as they can, they eat out. That said, Cham is very well aware Quentin loves his cooking so sometimes, he makes them something. (Being sick isnt so bad when it means Chammy bringin you a big bowl of hot borscht :)

On the other hand, Cham has quite a sweet tooth which Q notices Fast and decides to learn how to bake. It took more effort and failed tries than it could have, mostly because he got cocky, how hard could this be and just. kept forgetting he put stuff in the oven.. But now he makes quite delicious cookies n cakes which make Dmitri almost tear up because tasty + Quentin baked something Specifically for him?? 

Who does the laundry and other chores:

Mysterio’s laundry is usually booby trapped so he has to clean it himself and he doesnt even let Cham near it. And he keeps forgetting gadgets in his civvies. Not to mention that again, for the same servant reason, Cham really doesnt enjoy house chores in general, so he usually just gets his own clothes cleaned somewhere else (especially since his fancy suits and even fancier gowns are the highest quality and delicate materials, he doesnt even Know how to clean them..) 

As for the rest of the chores, its pretty balanced, although Cham has more of an eye for things that needs to be cleaned up (and Beck already has cooking duties) so he does a tad more. 

How many children do they have + Any pets:

In my Patchwork universe there’s a whole Thing about Leon, the Chameleon of the Ultimate universe but I’ve tried to type up a short summary and failed, it’s a long story lmao ^^;; and anyway he isnt exactly their kid, he is just much younger than them and they ended up sorta mentoring him. 

However, they have Celavi, the escaped ex-spy beluga.(Yes, it started as a joke based on this post that accidentally grew more and more serious until @herbofoo and me were too attached to let it go) She counts pretty much as their adopted daughter that they both spoil to hell and back, I mean no surprise, she saved Cham’s life once and sometimes, she helps out with heists. (Mostly for the show, you should have SEEN the look on Spider’s face when a beluga splashed him. He is used to humanoid sharks, to Hydroman.. not like. real life beluga that LAUGHS at him) Beck’s voice: “Dont you dare to insult her, SHE IS PERFECT AND FLAWLESS and A GOODNESS INCARNATE!! -she is literally a deserted russian spy that was trained to gather everything that could be used to harm USA-yea, i have a soft spot for those ;)“

She was always surprisingly clever so she never really counted as a “pet” and at one point, she even bonds with a symbiote (together they are Vague, again long story ah ha). They dont talk but have quite some range of vocalisations so communication isnt a problem. 

Who’s more dominant: 

They both have pretty dominant strong personalities (ok chameleon’s a bit more complicated with that but like.) with big egos who dont like others questioning their superiority. (Of course not at the level of like Doc Ock etc, they are surprisingly flexible and good team players that can be willing to let someone else take the spotlight if they are Nice) But the whole point of their relationship is that neither of them is dominant over the other, they get enough of that literally everywhere else. It’s very reassuring to be so sure that they are on equal footing, cooperating, no hidden nooses around their neck. Especially in their line of work of course! 

(Also, for the other interpretation of this question: anythin remotely sexual happens Pretty Late in the story and both of them are somewhere on the ace spectrum so it doesnt happen that often but they are both verses tho Beck bottoms more)

Favorite nonsexual activity:

MOVIES!! Sprawled on the giant comfy couch, closer than technically needed, cuddling and watching old movies with great special effects and/or great actors! Listening to Beck excitedly rant through the most dramatic speech of the story as he explains how the next cliffhanger is done with hydraulics! Focusing so hard on the stars in his eyes and his excited tone and gestures and just the tone of his voice you forgot to listen to the words themselves! Watching Cham’s face flawlessly mimic the faces on the screen in a blink of an eye and secretly guessing which one will he pick next. Feeling his head slowly fall on your shoulder, eyes closed, his mask smooth but not tense, instead just.. peaceful. Slight ping of annoyance, after all, this is A Classic movie dammit, but it’s gone in a second because Mitya hasnt slept since thursday and you are just relieved he is finally getting his rest. Feeling his warmth under your hand on his shoulders and suddenly never ever wanting to get up again.. EHM. anyway

PLANING HEISTS TOGETHER!! and more or less successfully executing them but planning is actually even more fun aside from the Big Reveals and Entrances which are actually harder to coordinate than one would think! 

Lots of shobiz/job talk actually, they really enjoy what they do! Lots of people already mentioned that in their hc compilations but i agree, they love goin to see all kinds of movies and plays and performances as well as acting various scenes with one another!  

Their favorite place to be together:

NEW YORK CITY BABEYY. Sure they love to travel and see other countries (and cause mayhem there) but.. they love their mess of a city, it’s never the same without the webhead around as well as the bazillion of other heroes n villains bashin each other’s heads. 

Any traditions:

Oh so many pop culture references and inside jokes, oh my god. One time, they spent the entire heist (and its planning period) speaking strictly in famous movie lines and titles, Max and other sixers tried to join but didnt last too long :’D 

Beck also has a habit of taking pictures of people with Interesting faces or styles he sees and sends them to Cham. Also another fanon classic: together they have a running game, disguising themselves as moderately famous people and the other guessing who..

Their “song”:

‘This is me’ from the Greatest Showman, i just live for the two of them singin it in Cham’s car,off key but fully immersed and living it. 

What they do for each other on holidays:

Neither of them are religious but that doesnt stop Beck from going ALL OUT at any opportunity, Sin Six doesn’t do any heists around holidays because you Know he’d make them dress for the occasion or worse, write them themed lines…  They still meet for Christmas and Hanukkah and sometimes other holidays too because this is my AU and you can pry festivities-related shenanigans from my cold, cold hands. It’s always at Beck’s place tho because he can turn his hideout into the tackiest holiday-themed showcase but he aint roping them into it.  

On the other hand, Cham despises American commercialized holidays in general and Christmas time especially, since it’s not a big thing in Russia and  also once again, he has family issues for days. (Although relatively speaking, he is pretty over these, he is not gonna like mope around or anything) 

Anyway, what they do for each other is that they try to compromise, Dmitri doesnt sneer at stupid kitsch decorations every 5 minutes and Quentin ..chills a little. :’D To be fair, Beck makes everything fun and having Cham there makes Beck appreciate the details more instead of just goin into BETTER!BIGGER! frenzy.

Where did they go for their honeymoon:

After the fuckin Ages of pinning, when they finally end up together for realsies, they wanted somethin Big and Flashy! (Well Beck wanted and Cham kinda too but also with the option to merge with the crowd unnoticed and take some chill time) Anyway they went on a whole world wide tour! Starting with a luxury cruise, they took their time, lots of crime sprees to plan and execute, lots of local shows to see, lots of dumb heroes to fool, they’re gonna have it all! 

Where did they first meet:

Around the time when Cham and Hammerhead had their criminal empire running Fisk to the ground, Otto decided the Sin Six should team up with them for their ressources needed on one heist or something. They agreed but Cham insisted on actually going in the field, it’s been a while since he really stretched his face legs like this and the mafia life was starting to bore him. Doc made him team up with Mysterio much to the fishbowl’s dismay because why do they need another disguise artist?? He is the Master Of Illusions dammit, he can run circles around this guy, what the fuck Otto?? So at the start, he pouts and fumes under his helmet and in general he is his v unpleasant self but… He can’t help but notice that the new guy is a real professional, he even uses Traditional masks, he likes the same movies… And most importantly, he is actually interested in Mysti’s craft, asking questions and even LISTENING to his long winded answers… At one point he even wondered if that X thing was meant as a HOMMAGE to the Y movie, the Six never did that!! (Usually the rest of the sixers dont know the reference, heathens, and when they do, they mock him for it, that he’s copying ideas and mixin them ridiculously.  BUT THIS GUY GETS IT!!) So it doesn’t take long for them to hit it off, of course at this point without any real Trust behind it but it’s a start. 

(Though Beck does pay a visit to Otto like, buddy pal i know you’ve been planning on manipulating these crimelords to your end somehow and honestly, any other day i’d be down, i actually had a robot prepared for my own backstab but i was thinking they werent that bad and maybe we Could hold our end of the bargain this time and just. leave each other on good terms? Mabye? Obviously it’s purely out of respect for our teammate Kraven since him and Chameleon seem to have some history, nothing more, definitely nothing to do with how bright Cham’s eyes were when i was showing him the back of my stage… ) 

What do they fight over:

this whole post has been a mountain of cheese but im bringing more! Honestly, goin through my notes on Patchwork, their biggest arguments have always been about.. the other one not taking proper care of himself :’D Or them lashing out because they were scared and worried about the other and they cant stand being so vulnerable while the other pretends it’s not a big deal because they dont know how to handle genuine concern directed at them. 

Do they go on vacations, if so where:

GIVE!!! BECK!!!! HIS!!!! ISLAND!!!!!!They actually do have one, it’s where Celavi spends most of the time and they visit her often. But never for too long, neither of them can actually spend too long doing nothing..

B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?

Mostly, no. I’ll sometimes incorporate things that have happened around me or give people quirks from RL people, but generally no. I have however written fic where I’ve projected a lot of myself into a character or two, but not like, wholesale. There’s always several distancing elements so that it can never be Obviously Me, but also those few fics have been written as a type of...catharsis? Not in the ‘now I feel better for having written it’ way, but in the ‘guess I had a lot of thoughts and feelings about this topic way’. Hmm.

Anyway, a few recent fics are like that, the most recent being Quickie, a Harry/Draco, Harry/Ginny, Ginny/Blaise polyamory fic with aro!Harry. On the surface this doesn’t seem like it’s projecting anything about me because it’s very smutty (but not very explicit about it - I’m demi), it’s poly (I’m not), it’s an 8th year fic (dumb teenagers!), and it’s got aro!harry (I’m demi), but to sum up, the part of the fic that’s projecting me is the part that’s about the need for personal connections, the unresolved millennial existential crisis/depression and the wish fulfilment of living in a free house with your most important people and not having to work ever lmao :’’’D

After, when he’s got Malfoy draped over him like a safety blanket, he says: “I’ve decided what to do with my life.”

“Yeah?” Malfoy mumbles into his shoulder.

“I want to be happy. I’m going to be happy.”

Malfoy lifts his head up to look at him. “That’s very noble of you,” he says. “How’re you going to go about it?”

Harry shrugs. “I’ll just do things I like.”

“Okay,” Malfoy says. “What about this pesky thing called having a job so you can, you know, earn a living?”

“I have money,” Harry says dismissively. “And a house. I’m okay.”

For some reason, Malfoy starts laughing. Harry can feel the vibrations in his whole body, and soon enough the entire bed shakes with it. “You’re going to be a gentleman of leisure, then,” Malfoy eventually says, chuckling. "There's a thing I didn't see coming."

I have lots of favourite bits of dialogue, but this bit is one I really like because it flips the common depiction of Draco as the rich noble-adjacent person who doesn’t have to work a day in his life if he doesn’t want to and Harry as the hardworking contributor to society on its head. And also because Draco calls it out - first by saying ‘that’s very noble of you’ because he knows exactly what Harry is doing even if Harry doesn’t, and then because I wanted a) the readers to really get it and b) to have Draco laughing with Harry to show how comfortable they are with each other at this point, I added the next bit where he explicitly says ‘gentleman of leisure’. 

G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

From start to finish! It does happen that I come up with bits of dialogue or something else that needs to happen later and I’ll write it down, but I do tend to write from start to finish. I have written stories out of order before, and I have moved chapters and scenes around, and sometimes gone back to add in a scene or chapter before continuing, but I don’t really consider that to be non-linear tbh. More of a “wait, I should add this before I continue” so I go back and add it, if that makes sense.

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

I LOVE tropes!! fake dating, accidental marriage, bonding (though I’m picky about the type of bond - I don’t generally like telepathic bonds, for example), and any and all type of fic where the characters HAVE to work together/spend time together/similar. So also ‘buddy cop’ AUs and similar. I haven’t written many of those kinds of fics myself, but I looooove reading them.

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

I generally don’t think about that sort of thing when reading, so I can’t actually think of anything. Sorry!

Hicsqueak fic I wish I(or anyone, I’m not picky!) could write: So there’s a lot of discussion about what would happen if in the finale, Hecate sacrificed her magic to the founding stone and had to deal with the aftermath (and I love this idea because it’s SO PAINFUL but like... the thought of the Hubbles + Pippa helping her learn to deal with it is also just SO GOOD). 

I am here to propose an alternative! What if.... Pippa was the one who made that sacrifice? (Kay I’m sorry I couldn’t help myself, this idea kind of got away from me and I realllllly wish I could turn it into the long, well written, fully fleshed out fic that I want it to be instead of like a badly put together outline of an idea BUT THIS IS ALL I AM CAPABLE OF). I hope it’s not TOO cringey, but I can never tell with stuff that I put out : ]

What if Julie didn’t show up to Cackle’s because the magic ran out before mini-Julie reached her? Mildred isn’t unfrozen, and Mould’s change of heart comes too late. The school freezes over, and everyone left inside is a popsicle. The other teachers (Drill, Bat, Algernon) wait at the town for them to show up, and keep trying to reassure the students with placating words like “oh I’m sure they’ll be fine, let’s sing another song”, but getting less and less convincing every minute. 

Clarice and Bea are guilty/angry/beating themselves up about not going back for Sybil. After a certain amount of time, Dimity loses the last bit of hope she’s holding onto, and knows it’s time to tell the Great Wizard. She manages to contact him, and the two of them inform the parents of the children that there’s been an incident at Cackle’s. However, he’s trying to do damage control, worried about how it would look if the public knew the truth and orders the remaining Cackle’s staff to keep it vague and not reveal anything about the founding stone or what exactly happened to cause the mass evacuation. 

He sends magical missives to the heads of other schools in the area, since there are now a couple hundred schooless witches that need a place to go. So now Pippa and Julie know that something bad’s happened, but neither of them know everything. The message to Pippa simply said an accident has occurred at Cackle’s and that the school is now shut down and in quarantine, and for Pippa to reply with the number of student refugees her school can accommodate. 

Julie is told even less than that, only that something happened at school involving Mildred, and she won’t be able to see her for a while, but that they’ll let her know if anything changes. She’s obviously not satisfied with this and demands to know what’s going on, the people on the Great Wizard’s side just refuses to give anymore details and shut her out. She’s kind of desperate for information, so she calls her only magical friend, Pippa (I’ve kind of borrowed @always-la-belle-epoque​’s headcanon that Pippa reached out and they became friends after spelling bee, I hope you don’t mind!) to ask for help. Pippa has been trying to find out what exactly happened at Cackle’s, and most importantly if Hecate is okay. When Julie makes contact she adds Mildred to her queries, but she’s given the same brush-off by the Great Wizard. 

She’s really worried now because she can’t reach Hecate, through mirror or maglet or a discovery spell(it can’t sense Hecate’s magic since she no longer has any), so she tries Ada, with the same results. At this point it’s full on internal panic, she’s just barely holding herself together on the outside. She tries Dimity, and almost collapses in relief when the mirror call goes through, and just asks, are Hecate and Mildred okay?. Dimity takes one look at her face/expression and knows better than to try to bullshit her regardless of the great wizard’s orders. Dimity tells her what actually went down, and her face just drains of colour as her vision fades a little at the edges as she just sits in a shocked daze. Julie doesn’t fully understand all that stuff about the founding stone, but she knows that Mildred is in a lot of trouble and needs help. She gives Pippa a little pep talk and gets her to snap out of it. 

The two of them decide that they need to go to Cackle’s to see for themselves. Dimity tries to tell them that’s not a good idea, that Pippa will just get herself frozen too, but the two of them ignore her warnings and go off to Cackle’s together. When they get there, they find Mildred first. Julie is horrified, but somehow miraculously gets her out the same way she did on the show (super-powered magic hugs :D). Now that Mildred is unfrozen, she tells Pippa how to reignite the founding stone. They go up to the tower with the founding stone together, and see the hallows + hecate + mould + Agatha & Gullet all frozen around the stone (I’m imagining that after the magic weakened enough to let them out, A&G wanted to gloat and maybe use the magic sucking powers of the founding stone for some nefarious purpose, but spent too long sniping at each other not realizing how weak their powers were since they spent so long in the photograph, and ended up frozen). 

Pippa is devastated seeing Hecate trapped in the ice, how fragile she looks, her expression a mixture of fear and pain. She resolves to do what needs to be done to reignite the founding stone. Just as Pippa’s about to head over to the stone, she sees Mildred step up to it, ready to give away her own powers. That’s the moment her heart just melts/breaks and she knows that she would protect Mildred with her life (She already thought Mildred was a great kid before this, but it’s like... the turning point between -yeah Millie’s a sweet kid, I’ll help her out a bit at school- and -MUST NEVER LET ANY HARM COME TO HER AND DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO KEEP HER SAFE-). 

Anyways, she stops Mildred and tells her that she can’t let Mildred sacrifice herself, that she has to be the one to do this. Mildred protests, but Pippa puts her foot down and starts the spell. Julie and Pippa’s eyes meet while she’s performing the spell, and Julie’s overwhelmed with gratitude and just silently mouths a thank you to Pippa and all three of them are tearing up. 

The spell works and everyone unfreezes, and as soon as Hecate realizes what’s going on she just lets out this agonized sound of protest and screams for Pippa to stop, “Pippa, you mustn’t!” and tries to redirect the spell to take her powers instead (like what Mould did for Mildred). Hecate is an emotional wreck when she realizes that It’s too late because Pippa’s already completed the spell. But there’s no time to process anything now because Gullet, Agatha and Mould are all unfrozen too. 

So now they’re in a witch stand off where it’s pretty much Mildred, Hecate, Esme, Sybil and Ethel vs Mould, Agatha and Gullet (since Pippa and Julie are magicless). Agatha wants the founding stone, and obviously Hecate can’t let her take it. She realizes that she probably wont’ be able to hold off 3 adult witches by herself, so she reluctantly asks Esme if she’s able to help (she doesn’t want to put Esme in harm’s way, but this situation doesn’t give them much choice), and tells Mildred, Ethel and Sybil + nonmagical people to stand back. Well, she phrases it like, “Ethel, Sybil, Mildred...Keep Ms. Pentangle and Ms. Hubble safe.” 

And now there’s spells flying everywhere and it’s pretty evenly matched even 3 v 2 (since Hecate and Esme are both two of the most talented witches of their respective generations, + Esme absorbed the power of the founding stone which I imagine would be much stronger than what she had before, and Agatha only has Esme’s 16 or 17 year old magic? I actually have no idea how old Esme is supposed to be). 

Meanwhile, Mildred keeps on trying to talk to Ms. Mould to get her to change sides. Agatha sees that it’s making Mould doubt her choices, and tries to shut Mildred up by sending a powerful spell at her that would have seriously hurt her. Hecate and Esme were occupied with Gullet and didn’t expect Agatha to target Mildred so suddenly, and they can’t react in time to protect Millie. Pippa and Julie both try to step in front of her, but surprisingly, it’s Mould who takes the blow for Mildred. Now Mould’s gravely wounded, Gullet and Agatha have one less witch on their side, and Ada shows up with Enid, Maud and Felicity. The two of them decide its in their best interests to gtfo and they transfer out to escape before anyone can stop them. 

Mildred is crying by Ms. Mould, who’s struggling to breathe. Mildred begs Esme, Ada or HB to heal her. The three of them together manage to save her. The great wizard is informed again of these new events. He takes Mould away to be put on trial at a later date and says that her actions to save Mildred will be taken into consideration. The rest of the Cackle’s students don’t have to spread out to different schools after all, and they all come back. 

Clarice + Bea have a tearful reunion with Sybil. Ethel isn’t expelled because officially, the incident with the founding stone didn’t happen, but there are still consequences, e.g. they put some kind of spell tracker on her and she’s only allowed to cast authorized spells in class for the rest of the year). After they sort all of that out, there’s an awkward moment where the great wizard turns to Pippa and just says, “your sacrifice will forever be honoured and remembered by those in this room, but unfortunately, someone with no magic cannot run a magical school. You can no longer be headmistress of Pentangle’s.” And Pippa just nods and says sadly, “I know.” Hecate, Mildred and Felicity are all devastated and protest even though the all know the reality of the situation.

Later that night, Hecate and Pippa are in Hecate’s room, and Hecate is still trying to understand WHY Pippa did this, and Pippa just says “I had to save you. I don’t regret my choice.” And Hecate just cannot comprehend it, feels so terribly guilty, expects Pippa to hate her. Her voice is full of shame, barely louder than a whisper as she forces out the words. “I cost you everything. Your school, your life, your magic...12 generations wasted. You must despise me. I am so, so very sorry.” And Pippa just smiles wistfully and says, “You didn’t cost me anything Hecate. I gave it willingly, and I would do it again. Of course I don’t despise you. I could never despise you...because I love you. I’ve always loved you, and I think I always will.” Hecate just breaks down, and just hugs Pippa to her so tightly when she says “I love you too.”

The next week is pretty rough, Pippa’s struggling with not having magic anymore,and also not having her school anymore, and both of those things are equally painful. Sometimes she can’t help it and just has to cry and feel sorry for herself for an hour, usually in Hecate’s arms. That’s one good thing that came out of all this, she and Hecate are finally together, a bright light in a dark time. She has a lot of talks with Esme about how to cope, since Esme’s the only other person who can understand what she’s going through. Mildred comes around a lot too to help her out with non-magical stuff, and because Mildred is Mildred, she refuses to give up and is working together with Felicity to find a way to get Pippa’s powers back. 

Millie and Felicity come up with the idea of getting all the girls at Cackle’s donating a little of their own power(like, 1%) to make up what Pippa had to give away. And the two of them give an inspiring speech to the student body, and everyone volunteers, including the teachers. They perform the mass spell and Pippa gets her magic back. HB and Pippa tearfully thank everyone, and especially Mildred + Felicity. Pippa gets her school back, and she and HB live happily ever after forever THE END. THIS IS JUST SHAMELESS WISH FULFILLMENT AND SELF-GRATIFICATION ON MY PART. (I’m not sorry :DDD)

Tab is a cuddler. He likes to be close to people, to by physically intimate with them in a way that goes beyond sharing a space  ---  this boy runs on touch, and isn’t shy about it. He enjoys being touched, having his back clapped or his arm squeezed, as much as he enjoys giving it. In a romantic relationship, this goes beyond casual touches; Tab just likes having his partner near him, being able to pull them close and simply hold them, his chin on the crown of their head while they shift and breathe against him. He’s not very tactile with casual acquaintances, so if Tab touches someone frequently, it means he cares for them.

B   :   BOUQUET.   does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?

He has a special fondness for wildflowers, but you’re not gonna find those in any florist’s shop. When he’s in a sentimental mood, he might go out and pick a few to put into a bouquet...  but Tab’s favorite way of appreciating the flowers is to bring his partner out to a field, where they can soak in their natural beauty.

C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

He’s not a big fan. Anything with nuts in it, he’ll eat gladly. Nutella is one of his favorite things in the world.

D   :   DATE.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

Let’s go on a hike! Tab feels most at ease in nature, so he’d love to go on an afternoon hike up a familiar trail with a partner, chatting quietly until they reach his favorite ridge  ---  where they can watch the sun set over the horizon. He’s not unfamiliar with hiking in the dark, so he’d be comfortable heading back down...  but if his partner prefers it, they can camp out for the night. Huddling in a tent with them in his arms, just talking softly and enjoying the quiet...  hell, he’d love that.

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

Once again  ---  he thrives on touch! He loves touch! His hugs are warm and affectionate, like a warm drink on a rainy day. Usually he’s on his best behavior, too...  usually.

F   :   FLIRT.   is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?

Oh, he’s an inconsummate flirt, and doesn’t even try to hide it. It’s like a reflex at this point. He’s drawn to pretty ladies like magnets, and they’re drawn to him right back. He’ll wink, he’ll tease, he’ll find excuses to get closer...  usually, girls eat out of the palm of his hand. He’s not used to being rejected  ---  on the rare occasions it does happen, he goes a little shell-shocked, and has to sit in a corner to recoup for a few minutes.

G   :   GIFT.   is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?

Well, he definitely tries! Points for effort, at least, but Tab is a notorious regifter. If he doesn’t like something, he’ll store it away for a rainy day, and rocks up to Popeye’s birthday party with the poncho Auntie Marge gave him last Christmas. He tries to be smooth, but, like...  buddy, everybody knows.

H   :   HEART.   is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?

He’ll give the rest of him way quicker; Tab’s had plenty of affairs without much emotional intimacy involved, and frankly, he prefers it that way. Real relationships are daunting. Much as he wants one, the idea still scares him a bit. Tab has to be sure of himself before trusting his heart to someone else...  and equally sure that they won’t break it.

I    :   I LOVE YOU.   does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

Tab has a dozen ways to say ‘I love you’ that don’t involve words at all. He’ll kiss, he’ll caress, he’ll tease, he’ll do the dishes and put them away without a second thought...  honestly, actions speak louder than words with him. While he’ll say it after a while, his partner won’t be surprised  ---   because he’s already told them a hundred times before.

J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

It depends on how serious the relationship is, and how serious the situation. Tab’s not an overly-suspicious guy, and he’s not about to make something over nothing...  but if his partner’s suddenly spending all their time with someone else, talking about them constantly, or if another person seems to be moving in on them, Tab won’t be pleased. He’s the sort of person to say so outright, believing the situation can best be resolved if everyone’s on the same page.

K   :   KISS.   is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?

Do you even have to ask? He’s an astoundingly good kisser; not only does he know how to use his tongue, he recognizes the tentative dynamics of kissing, like a balanced scale which so easily tips one way or the other, and has learned to manipulate it. Not too much touch, just enough to leave his partner hungry for more...  not too much tongue, otherwise it gets gross...  let his teeth graze their lower lip just enough to make them moan, run a hand along the back of their neck just lightly enough so they shiver. Kissing’s a skill, just like playing the piano or learning to cook. Tab’s...  had a lot of practice.

L   :   LOVE.   who does your muse love?

Tab’s a funny sort of extrovert:  he can thrive in a room full of people easily, enjoying the company of his friends and the opportunities to make new ones...  but he never feels more at peace than when he’s outside, in nature and quiet. Honestly, Tab adores his family, adores his friends, adores animals, and would adore any partner he had...  but nature will always have a special place in his heart. (Nature, and Captain Winters. Always.)

M   :   MOONLIGHT.   is morning or night a more romantic setting?

Look, Tab can work with any hour of the day. He’s not picky. 3pm? 3am? He’s ready to go. Maybe he’s half-asleep, but he’s ready.

N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?

If the human body were a piano, Tab’s Ludwig von Freakin’ Beethoven. Knows exactly what he’s doing with his hands at all times. Tab can work wonders with those hands; it’s hard for his partner to keep track of exactly where they are or what they’re doing, only that they need to be doing more of it. He can be quite sparing with touch during the act, preferring to make his embraces count. Knows all the best places to stimulate; the gasps and moans of his partner only urge him on, encouraging him to work harder at pleasing them. Can grind like nobody’s business, and is shockingly flexible; has tried most positions at least once, and will try them again. When it comes to kinks, he’s actually a bit shy about trying anything too extreme... but if his partner pitches it right, he’ll usually be willing to try. Not to mention the mouth  ---  Tab has a magic mouth, and puts it to work exactly as God intended.

Not really. He tries, god help him  ---  he’s even tried his hand at writing poetry, not that he’s ever let anyone read it, because he knows how bad it is...  but Tab is quite plainspoken. He says what he’s thinking. That said, he’s got a talent for making the bluntest compliments sound romantic when he tries.

P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

Someone adventurous. Tab needs someone who’s willing to try new things, who can keep him on his toes at times. He wants someone he can laugh with, someone he can dance around the kitchen with...  but also someone who appreciates the quiet beauty life has to offer. If they like being outside? All the better. They have to love animals, that’s non-negotiable. (Hopefully a dog person?) A great laugh, self-confidence...  and a bit of passion.

Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

Look, he’ll absolutely do it. If he gets to the point where they’re both ready  ---  preferably after they’ve had a long conversation about it beforehand  ---  Tab will plan a cozy proposal outside, pick out a ring, find a serene spot and...  go for it. But if his partner did it first, it would be a massive weight off his shoulders, and he’d honestly be relieved.

R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

He’s got a romantic streak so big that it chokes him sometimes. Really, he just wants to share all the things he loves with someone who can find as much joy in it as him...  and he wants to get to know their world and everything they care about. He craves a deep connection with someone, beyond the physical intimacy of sex, but the idea intimidates him at the same time. Tab would absolutely spoil his partner with romantic surprises and gifts, just because he wants to make them feel appreciated and get to know them better. He wants to understand what kind of romance they want.

He had his first kiss under a jungle gym when he was four. You do the math.

He...  wants to. Very much. Isn’t sure he’s ever seen it before, and doubts it’s for everyone  ---  he’s kind of convinced it’ll never happen to him  ---  but it’s got to be real for some people.

U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?

He had a girlfriend in high school that he was crazy for, even hoped to marry one day. Little Floyd was popular with the girls, but he grew into an awkward phase that lasted throughout middle and most of high school; but Maryetta Stevens was the sweetest gal he’d ever known, and never judged him for his acne or his bitten nails. He was genuinely head-over-heels for her...  but she was stolen away by the marching band captain, and that was the end of that. It took him months to recover.

V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

He’s got a dozen things he’d prefer to be doing, but everybody wants to go on a date on Valentine’s day. If fighting their way through a crowded restaurant just to get a cozy table by the window is what his partner wants to do, Tab’s game for it.

W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?

It’s something he’s given a lot of thought to  ---  and, while he’s not against it, it would definitely have to be with the right person. Tab’s not going to make that commitment until he knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with someone; it’s not something he takes lightly.

X   :   XOXO.   does your muse use / like pet names?

Not for his friends in general, but he’s got nicknames for all his siblings, would come up with great ones for his own kids...  and a few sweet, intimate ones he uses exclusively for his partner. Those only come out when he’s in a gushy mood.

Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?

...  yeah. Abso-freaking-lutely. And he’s not gonna apologize for it either. If someone’s threatening someone he cares about, Tab’s not gonna hesitate to step in, and he’ll take whatever approach is necessary  ---  a suggestive word, or a firm fist. Tab doesn’t mess around when it comes to protecting the people he loves.

Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?

He’s...  he’s...  he’s Tab, is the thing. He’s just...  talented. A gift like that doesn’t come without a lot of people eager to unwrap the package. The boy... definitely gets around.

I’ve noticed this troubling trend of tumblr of...forgetting aromantic people exist.  I know ace discourse is a Hot Topic (not the store) right now and people will intentionally exclude or include ace people in LGBT discussions for whatever reasons they have for participating in the discourse, but....did you notice how it’s called “ace discourse” and not “ace/aro discourse”?  I suppose I should be happy nobody’s making jokes at the expense of aro people like they are at ace people (er, there are still jokes, but...) but it still hurts that we’re so overlooked.

Positivity posts exist for us, but they’re few and far between compared to other groups and we’re often excluded from most discussions.  When we are included, we tend to be lumped into how “MOGAI is so problematic” discussions and that’s about it.

Pride flags will include the gay, lesbian, trans, bi, pan, ace, nonbinary, and sometimes even agender/genderqueer/other nb gender identity flags, but they rarely include aromantic as an option.  I’m not saying you HAVE to make aromantic pride icons, not by any means; this isn’t referring to “hey, here are some lesbian tsuchako icons!” or even “hey, here are some ace pidge icons!” because both of those are icons meant for specific groups.  But when it’s obvious that someone is well-meaning and trying to list all the semi-major LGBT groups, it stings just a bit extra because you KNOW they’re trying to be inclusive but they still didn’t include your group.  Not like they’re a bad person for it by any means!  But that’s the point; they didn’t do anything intentionally wrong or really wrong at all, but it still hurts.  And that’s one of the worst kinds of pain of all.

And I know, “oh ace/aro people arent being killed and raped and denied housing and discriminated against in almost all aspects of your life!!!” first off, only one of those is something that doesn’t happen to us (being killed) so fuck you.  (And dont bring up “well its because of heterosexual culture/sexism/ect” because heterosexual culture IS part of our oppression and sexism doesn’t play entirely if at all into those three things.)  But secondly, that’s...kind of the point?  Notice how I said ace/aro people; ace/aro people face (or...faced - I’ll get to that in a second) similar amounts of oppression that’s reflected in similar ways, often utilizing the same language.  And yet asexual people get all this pride and recognition, and we get nothing?

I said we used to face the same amount of oppression because while asexuality has become somewhat known nowadays, aromanticism is still virtually unknown.  I can tell you that right now because my autocorrect is calling aromantic and aromanticism a misspelling but saying asexuality (and asexual, however that was a word before it was used for the sexual orientation so I dont count it) is a word.  See, there was a time when asexuality and aromanticism were considered the same thing, but people were quickly like “no, they aren’t!  they’re separate!”  So now we’re at the point where society has learned a little about asexual people and is aware that they can have romantic partners.  But in the process, we left behind aromantic people.  We said “oh, what about the asexual people who CAN have partners?” before we got people to accept those who can’t - and don’t fit into gay positivity or straight privilege because of it - and now I feel like we’ve largely abandoned those who can’t.  I recognize it’s important to give acknowledgement to the fact that ace people can be alloromantic, I really do!  But we keep forgetting to acknowledge that asexual people can be aromantic, too.  Because to us it seems like second-knowledge, when it really...isn’t to the world at large.  So we changed our activism, and now nobody knows about asexual aromantic people.

And don’t even get me started on how ignored allosexual aromantic people are.  I’m sorry but I really don’t feel qualified to write about their experience because I really don’t know much about them.  I’ve never met an allosexual aromantic person that I know of (or have had an in-depth conversation with them about something like this, anyways) but please keep them in your mind when talking about ace/aro activism as well.

Say what you want about the ace community’s relationship with the LGBT community, but the ace community is even more intertwined with the aromantic community than it is with the LGBT community.  There’s no possible way to separate the aromantic from the ace community.  And yet currently, I’m...really feeling like the alloromantic asexual community has let the aromantic community down significantly.  You’re getting media attention now, but you’ve forgotten that many of the people who pioneered this and normalized it were aromantic asexuals - or even aromantic allosexuals - and now you’re more focused on validating your own existence than validating ours.  I’m not saying you can’t reblog a good ace discourse post because it doesn’t mention aromantics or can’t enjoy your ace pride icons or anything of that matter.  But when you’re speaking in your own words, or making your own icons, please try to think of us and how these issues affect us every once in a while.  Basically every aspect of ace discourse applies to aromantic people as well but neither side seems to acknowledge this - and when they do, it’s almost always the ace exclusionist side, which isn’t a good thing.  We have our positivity, and please keep that coming!  But don’t be afraid to exclude us from tough conversations either.  We’re here and we want to be included.  So please include us.

PS if you want to make aromantic pride icons but don’t know which glad to use, the most commonly accepted flag is the green/yellow/white/gray flag.  But we’re not going to be picky on which flag you use; we’re just happy you thought of us! ;v; (might wanna be careful about using the green/white/gray flag that doesn’t use the yellow stripe though, as that’s very similar to the agender flag and I get mixed up a lot myself |D)

B - Biggest fear: Being alone for the rest of my life, and still being trapped at my parents’ place. Yes, I have been on my own, but it was always with two other roommates. And, as my stepmom loves to remind me, I am not in school and that “ doesn’t helps me have a better job because a higher education will help you” and does not beleive that a degree doesn’t equal job security, as I have learned from all the people that used to work under be with degrees. -_- end of self pitty here

Alphabet Question Thing

 So, I was tagged by the always fantastic @abakerstrilogyhas4books, and here I am, with free time for the first time since last September because as of yesterday night, I AM FREE FOR THE SUMMER, because finals are OVER, the kitchens have been cleaned from top to bottom, and I don’t have to be back on campus until next September.

And I’m celebrating by immedietely starting a new job that starts at 6:15AM, but, y’know, I chose the wrong profession if I wanted to sleep in. 

The Rules: Answer the questions in a new post and tag 20 blogs you want to know better.

A- Age: 18. Officially an adult, which means I no longer have to take a swim test every time I visit the local pool, even though I’ve been going there at least once a week every summer for the past EIGHT SUMMERS and they know I won’t drown because I claimed I can swim but I actually can’t. But hey, now if I do drown, it’s my fault, not theirs, and I no longer have to take the swim test.

B- Birthplace: Washington State. 

C- Current Time: As I’m writing this, it’s 8:37. It will probably be closer to nine by the time I’m finished.

D- Drink you last had: A ginger beer; the good kind that’s spicy enough to feel in your sinuses. 

E- Easiest person to talk to: Probably my cousin. Although, admittedly, sometimes I do find myself talking more at her than to her, but she does in return so it evens out. 

F- Favorite song: Right now I could listen to Green Light by Lorde on repeat and not get tired of it.

G- Grossest memory: My friend BRILLIANTLY decided to ride a spinny ride after eating greasy fair food. She threw up. A lot. Everywhere. I got off the ride and threw up because of how much she was throwing up. Then I ran because I’m pretty sure the person working the ride was about to murder us. 

H- Horror yes or horror no: Yes-ish? I can do horror-thriller, like Jurassic Park (which I watched waaaay to young), or sci-fi horror, like Alien, but I can’t do, like, Paranormal Activity or The Exorcist or anything like that.

I- in love: with my bookshelf. It’s beautiful and organized by color and my one true love. 

J- Jealous of people: I’m not a super jealous person, but I am jealous of people who can actually go do public things with other people without dealing with the wonderful thing called social anxiety.

K- Killed someone: I kill every plant I touch. But an actual person? Nope. 

L- love at first sight or should I walk by again: I actually don’t believe in love at first sight. I believe in attraction at first sight, but not love. So, yeah, walk by again. 

M- Middle name: Ke’ale (”kay-all-A” is the Americanized way of saying it in case you’re wondering. I’m not quite sure how I would actually write out the traditional way of saying it.)

N- Number of siblings: One. A younger brother.

O- One wish: I’m going to go the fun superpower route and ask for the power to turn invisible.

P- Person you called last: My school adviser, because I was accidently registered for the wrong English class. 

Q- Question you’re always asked: Yes, my name is spelled correctly, and yes, it is pronounced “awn-yuh”. 

R- Reason to smile: Fanfic is a thing that exists. Also, the sheer wonderfulness that are dogs.

S- Song you sang last: Pompeii by Bastille. It was on the radio this morning while I was getting ready.

U- Underwear color: Black.

V- Vacation: Going camping in a couple of weeks with various members of the extended family, and I’m planning on heading to Portland sometime this summer. Mostly because of Powell’s. 

X- X-rays: I mean, at the dentist’s, and one when I was twelve to make sure I hadn’t fractured my wrist. 

Y- Your favorite food: I have had many a love affair with garlic mashed potatoes. Also, give me any frozen dairy product; ice cream, frozen yogurt, frozen custard, semifreddo...I’m not picky.

hello all! and hail hydra! just kidding. a little about me. i go by the name  S I A on here. I am currently T W E N T Y - F I V E . i am originally from         E A S T  S U S S E X ,  U N I T E D  K I N G D O M  in a small grass covered town. i consider myself  P A N S E X U A L & go by  S H E  /  H E R  pronouns, though you can call me dirt-bag and I would honestly care less. i have been roleplaying for roughly at least  S I X T E E N  years of my life. so needless to say, i pride myself in my writing. i am by no means perfect nor will i ever claim to be anything near that. i write because i enjoy writing. it is a hobby and nothing more, nothing less. real life never equals roleplay and my character’s actions, history, etc; will  N E V E R  reflect anything in my personal life or my personal opinions. i have  N O   T R I G G E R S but will gladly tag anything you find offensive on my blog with ‘tw: -insert trigger here-’. overall, i am a really easy person to get along with. if you ever have a problem or need somebody to talk to i will literally be your personal shrink and best friend. also, i do not have a smart cellular so that means  N O  K I K  / /  N O  S K Y P E  / /  N O    S N A P C H A T or any other fancy apps where roleplaying can be done.

I C O N S ;  quite often i do not have time to make my own icons. the only nes that i may make will be a few circular gif icons but seeing as how they are very time consuming and i work a lot my icons come from multiple sources. first off, thank you to @wbtresources for the help in finding awesome icons and helping me out. My icons have come from @hemlockgraphics, HOLLOW ART LINK 1, HOLLOW ART LINK 2, HOLLOW ART LINK 3, HOLLOW ART LINK 4, HOLLOW ART LINK 5, HOLLOW ART GIF ICONS, and finally a big thanks / credit to kissthemgoodbye screencaps who i use for making my icons and use as a source.

N O  G O D M O D I N G ; i find this to be a pretty basic rule on everybody’s list. basically this means do not control my character’s actions or what they say. i am perfectly capable of controlling my character, just as you should be able to yours.

N O  S T E A L I N G ;  seriously, that is a dick move. the majority of my icons i have found on icon galore or hollow art. any others i have made myself from gifs and edited with my name over. my theme backgrounds are made by me but i do not make the themes themselves. credit goes to the original makers and credit will always be kept in it’s respective place. please, please, please never steal anything from my blogs or writing. it’s not very nice.

F O R M A T T I N G ;  typically i will format my own writing. i do understand that people are unable to trim their posts the majority of the time, whether it be tumblr’s fault with bugs or that they are mobile. this does not bother me. just know that i will trim our posts and format my own replies into smaller special text. if you have trouble reading one of my replies i will be more than happy not to do this, though, and type in normal text. just shoot me a message or ask.

M Y  T H E M E  /  L I N K S ; everything on my blog is customized and floats. generally from what i hear it is not very mobile friendly but i cannot really edit my blog to fix that. if you simply shoot me a message or ask for the links to rules, about, etc; i will be more than happy to send them your way!

M Y  A C T I V I T Y  /  R E P L Y  T I M E ; as a rule of thumb i will post a notice if i plan to be absent more than a week from my blog. i try to remain semi-active on all of my blogs but if you feel i have disappeared then feel free to shoot me a message, once again, and kindly remind me. i do have a full time job and a life outside of it ( even if it isn’t much of one ) , so please understand that these are factors in my daily reply times. i run on  E S T aka east coast, usa / canadian time and am typically on at night anywhere from 8 pm until 2 or 3 in the morning, depending on my mood. if my reply has taken more than  T W O  W E E K S  than please kindly nudge me and remind me i owe you. i promise that i am not ignoring anybody. my life can just be rather hectic at times. also keep in mind i run a total of at least three active blogs at any given time and attempt to spread out replies among them evenly.

N S F W / S E X U A L  P O S T S ; seeing as how i am legally an adult everywhere in the world no matter how childish i am, i reserve the right to write smut as i see fit. it will not occur very often on my blogs unless my character is more so sexually active ( such as one of my vampire characters ) , but either way i choose to ONLY write with those that are 18 and older for smut. why? because it is illegal on both ends and i don’t really feel like catching any flack because somebody needed their lady bones or bones jumped one night. also, i will ALWAYS tag anything sexually related as ‘nsfw’. rarely will i put them under a ‘read more’ unless they get a bit more graphic. don’t wish to see those posts? simply block the tag ‘nsfw’ and you won’t. don’t unfollow me because of them. besides, i find myself to be rather a shite writer when it comes to anything sexual. i will, however, roleplay regular storylines and plots with those that are under 18. just nothing sexual, please. also, never lie about your age. it’s rather skeevy if you ask me.

W R I T I N G  S T Y L E  / L E N G T H ;  once again, i format my writing. i will generally always reply in some form of smaller text and i will always trim my posts. as far as length of my writing i can do anything from one liners up to novella when i feel inspired. generally i will reply in a para to multi-para style, though. i will, however, try my very best to match whatever length you choose to write in up until the point where i feel like my quality is going down. i prefer quality over quantity any day of the week.

G O S S I P P I N G ; i take no part in it when it involves other roleplayers. as a matter of fact if i find out that you are purposefully slamming another roleplayer’s name into the ground simply because you do not enjoy the way they write then i will unfollow you. i find it rude and honestly rather childish.

F A N D O M S ; i have literally roleplayed with somebody from every fandom across the board. i am familiar with everything from serial killing horror genres up to disney princesses. as long as i can see our characters having a logical writing experience together i will be more than happy to write with you. i follow every blog that follows me and give them a chance.

S E X U A L I T Y / S H I P S ; please never ever force a ship on me. i much prefer to write with a character before any type of relationship happens. i will kindly return the favor. my male characters that i write are usually straight while my female characters that i write are often pansexual or lesbian. does this mean that they will hit on you all the time or automatically find you attractive? of course not. so please, never feel uncomfortable around my characters. also, i reserve the right to have multiple ships on a single blog. EVERY ship will be in a different verse and i never want to catch somebody from one ship interacting with somebody from another one of my ships as if they are fighting over me or know we are dating, sleeping together, etc;. each ship is single. simple as that. i ship chemistry and you can cause a chemical melt down of my character by doing something stupid like that.

O P E N  P O S T S  /  M E M E S  / M ! A ‘ S / E T C ;  my open posts are exactly that. i don’t care if we have never interacted before, if we have a million threads together, or if we are best friends. feel free to reply to them. however, once they have been claimed by a roleplayer i will take it off as an open rp to cut down on clutter. as far as memes go - i am the meme queen. literally send me any and all memes that i post. i will love you forever, trust me. also, feel free to continue it as an actual thread or storyline after i have answered it! i don’t care if you reblog it or make a new post. i am not picky. i, however, will create another post and tag you in it when i go to reply.  i do not now, nor will i ever, accept M!A’s. they are uneventful and stupid in my opinion. it feels like another person is literally controlling my character and i do not like it.
