Viewing Love as an Inevitability

Or: IH13 ends every single fic the same way and who wants to guess how she’s concluding her vows

So, I’m working on my vows for September, and I’m mostly finished but was looking for the conclusion. The vows themselves are done and have been in progress for years! That’s one of the Big Surprises (the other is surprise bellydancing). I started the vows on our first anniversary because I knew I was going to marry him, and every year after that, I wrote more, and each tries to reflect on what we went through that year. The first couple sound super young, which is precious, and now I’m up to six years so they’re kinda long.

Anyways, I needed a conclusion! And then, I realized that I know exactly what it should be, because it turns out that I have an extremely specific set of beliefs about falling in love. A frankly hilarious number of fics end the exact same way: here we are, together, because we were always meant to end up here.

Here are THIRTY-SIX examples of this from the past ten years (not even all of them, just the top THIRTY SIX) for your amusement:
