The Cardinal Alliance is fragile, and they know that. But they didn’t expect everything to go so horribly wrong so fast.

Of course they were expecting to be broken up when they turned red. Of course they were! This was a death game, after all.

But, well… maybe, secretly, they believed it wouldn’t happen to them. Maybe in some deep part of their minds, they truly hoped that they would win, together. Like intact glass in a tornado, unbroken despite the horrifying odds.

The first chips in the glass started to show the moment Ides gave up his life. 

He wasn’t thinking, wasn’t considering the consequences and possibilities. His dramatic side had taken over, and although he didn’t know it at the time, it cost them everything.

Less than a minute later, Lexi was yellow too, and the chips became cracks, four hairline points of weakness displaying their vulnerability to all. They were all yellow now.

Lexi died again, and the cracks widened, threatening to fracture their hope into a million tiny pieces, but they could still save her! They could still-

Di refused to give the life, and the glass shattered, a corner falling away into nothingness.

The Cardinal Alliance’s hope disappeared with it.

hi. sorry about my POV. i forgot to unmute my mic after break and i don't think anyone has a clean recording of what i said during my death that isn't spoken over in spectator chat, so there exists no record of what i said. check might, if he happened to be recording around our location, but i can't make any promises.

mostly, to the best of my memory, it was approximately "i'm sorry, i'm so sorry, i was so scared, you can end up the last one standing without even knowing it, i'm so sorry. he left stuff in a chest upstairs, i didn't take most of it. i'm so sorry, i'm so sorry."
