idk man, the epilogue is like this really deep...exploration of interpersonal connections and wants and desires interlaced with the complexity of circumstance and consequence and regret and guilt. and I started it as a like "haha, this is what I want! I want two monkeys being gay, haha!"
but it's so. fucking tragic, actually.
just in chapter 1, we see how defeated Macaque is, how lost he is. how he hesitates and flip flops constantly. how he says or thinks something with certainty, but then goes back on that. he tries so hard to commit to one path, but he truly is fluctuating and has no clue what to do
and wukong is just...certain of himself. he's certain of his wants and desires now after Constellations. He wants to maintain connections and put in the effort no matter what. and that..juxtaposition of them...is just so raw and hurtful in chapter 1 because we see that wukong notices that in Macaque because he knows him better than anyone.
And Macaque admits he's a little lost. he doesn't know what he wants. but he keeps walking. he wants to make his own choices. he wants to think for himself. he wants to see the truth for himself.
and as the days go by, as the weeks and months pass...as they grow and change, it's just sad. because it's not
the epilogue is not this "will they? won't they?" shadowpeach thing.
look at them as individuals. that's why i finally decided to change the perspective. because we needed to see macaque's thoughts. I've shown you wukong's; please give macaque that same level of attention.
when people write romance or relationships, they often misstep when it comes to the characters that are in the relationship. in order for that relationship to be believable and relatable and enjoyed by the audience, you have to develop the characters independently and together.
we cannot have shadowpeach until we know, with certainty, who macaque and wukong are.

man, kara's apartment used to be so bright and beautiful and full of life. it used to reflect her personality and interests. look.
final crisis #3
and she used to have a bunch of other apartments all around the world. she'd decorate them to her liking and use them as secret bases. this one bellow is in paris.
kara didn't even have to put this much effort into them, yet she took the time to make them feel cozy.
action comics #881
which brings us to kara's current home. it's so sad and empty. i just, i hate it.
supergirl special #1
this apartment is so minimalistic. it feels cold. like no love was put into decorating it. like a phantom is living in it, with no real hobbies and interests. just existing. where are kara’s art supplies? in a way, it reflects the state of current!kara's personal life. we've barely seen her out of her costume. we've seen two panels of how her life is going. for us, her civilian life is stuck in a limbo. and this is perfectly reflected in the empty apartment she lives in.
but in kara's universe, her life is still going. she's going on dates, she has a job. she’s not just staring at the void any time supergirl is not needed. she has things to do. that comics was an opportunity to show us kara's personal life is still going strong. that her loft is well-lived in. that kara puts effort into making this small apartment her home. that kara puts effort into making earth her home. it's such a wasted opportunity. hopefully, one day, kara will get the warm apartment and civilian life she deserves.

@ofurizen enters the garden! | ♡
chiyo isn't sure what's more embarrassing right now -- the fact that she can't remember her neighbor's name or the fact that he definitely saw her pass out. though, in her defense, anyone might pass out after encountering their first demon, particularly if they couldn't breathe through most of it. but that thought doesn't make the mixture of emotions in her chest any less unpleasant, nor does it calm the churning of her stomach ( god, she better not get sick on top of everything else ). chiyo still squeezes her eyes shut, pressing palms against her eyelids as if the pressure might do something for her.
it doesn't. figures.
" how'd you get rid of that thing? " the artist tries not to sound as ill as she feels, tries to place the focus anywhere else but on her. " gotta admit i didn't have ' watching my neighbor brawl with a monster ' on my bingo card for this year. "

I have the coolest idea ever for my next big dbd themed project but woooow finished work today and too beat to even start doing anything to meaningfully progress it. I made some sketches last night though, and some more throughout today. just working on skin ideas.
anyway-- the piece will be original characters ONLY, with the exception of vecna (and I guess technically aestri). so dnd themed, as you can infer.
BUT I plan to do a totally separate bonus steve, nancy, and lucy for sure. perhaps some other licensed characters too, depending on my energy levels.
what class do other people think steve and nancy fit? lucy is a bard, obviously, as they're a drag performer. but I feel like steve could fit fighter, paladin, or barbarian, while nancy could be a wizard or a rogue?

Thinkin' 'bout how post-game, my sweet Iona is kind of one Very Bad Day away from becoming Vox Machina-era Delilah Briarwood
Good thing her sweetheart already is a vampire, saves her one uncomfortable deal with the Whispered One, but if anything at all were to happen to Astarion in her lifetime... y'know, I wouldn't be, like, surprised, if things were to take a turn for the weird with her.
They are like 85% of each other's respective impulse controls (they are a battery acid and a drain cleaner That Fuck, their respective insanities kind of cancel out), I wouldn't be shocked if she kind of lost a few of her marbles as a result.
I don't just support, I engineer as daydream about women's wrongs

The Pokémon world is falling apart.
It started small (though no one called it such at the time). A collection of fanatics with the goal to remake the world in their image, at the cost of ours. Time and space were held captive, a parallel dimension torn asunder, distortion creeping through,
Spears once pointed skyward, instead warped in towards the hole in reality, rending itself to pieces.
But it was stopped.
The champion and her unlikely friend, a small child from a small town, put an end to it.
It was stopped.
Wasn't it?
The next crack appears. Slow, almost unnoticeable. A hero against a hero, a child facing the
bwlhaictke
of
itdreuatlhs.
A different history. A history that always was.
It doesn’t matter.
Does it?
A meteor hits the ground, giving Pokémon strange new forms. It was never supposed to exist.
Another crack.
A man obsessed with power, who wants
dleiafteh.
He's defeated.
Another crack.
Delta.
Change.
Wormholes appear in the sky. Beasts with no home here, no adaptations, wreak havoc.
The crack splits twain. Worlds can be traveled between.
Sun and moon. Night and day. Altar and lake.
It ends with the first portal. It doesn't. There's more.
Looker. Anabel.
Rainbow Rocket
History starts to change. It shifts, impossibly.
The Kimono Girls are tasked with guarding
LHuog-iOah
The world feared
MAaqgumaa
But was saved by
MAaqgumaa
An energy crisis. A terrifying monstrosity.
A pair of twins separated by time, forms of Pokémon lost to Sinnoh history now present once again.
And now?
Billions of years in the
Past
Future
We witness paradoxes humanity can't. What they shouldn't.
The world is falling apart.
Can't you see it?
