Geoguessr Daily Challenge 22/08/2023

Hello! Hope you've had a good day. I don't have much time left so, I'm just gonna make this quick.

There will be spoilers here. Do not keep reading if you haven't played the challenge.

Round 1

Ireland - 15 km - 4951 pts.

Looks like the British Isles. Cars don't have any yellow plates, so Ireland. I find to the south various signs with various place names. I thought I could find Carnew (the farthest one from here), but I couldn't. I at least tried to find road R746. I didn't but found the general area where it was.

Round 2

Chile - 13 km - 4958 pts.

I hate it when I don't find something in my own country. I knew this was in La Reina, within Santiago. I couldn't find La Reina, and also couldn't find Parque Padre Hurtado, which was nearby. I just wasn't looking at the right places.

Round 3

Russia - 2198 km - 1146 pts.

It took me way too long to get to the end of the bridge, and I didn't find anything. I just guessed somewhere in East Russia. Wrong city…

Round 4

Peru - 4 m - 5000 pts.

Took me a while to look around but I eventually found a sign that said this was in Lima, and it was the Parque de la Exposición. I located the ring we started on very easily, and then just guessed where it made sense.

Round 5

Uganda - 548 km - 3462 pts.

OH NO. This is definitely Uganda; it is one of those parks and reservs in Uganda. I know none of them. I looked around for way too long without seeing anything. Eventually got to a sign mentioning Apoka and Kidepo, but it was way too late to be wasting too much time looking. I just guessed somewhere random. It was a park at the far north east end of the country, near the border with South Sudan. Maybe I could've found it? There's Kidepo Game Reserve in the South Sudan side. I should've gone that way first…

Sigh... I actually think I could've done well this time. Finding out the Russian round was in Khabarovsk wasn't impossible, I just should've tried to look in the map sooner. And Uganda, I already said how it could've gone better. This was a bad game. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
