On the subject of modpack recommendations, I made a custom one for myself a little while ago and i've been playing it nonstop since.
It's very chill, and lighter on the mods so my silly little laptop can run it without crashing. I put it together cause most modpacks are so complex and overwelming to my lil brain. I've found it a good mix of still feeling like minecraft, but having the benefits of the 'more' from the mods.
The lineup is: Create, Farmer's Delight, Sophisticated Backpacks, Waystones, Comforts (the sleeping bag mod), an animals mod called Naturalist, Xaero's Minimap/Worldmap, Decorative Blocks, Macaw's Doors/Trapdoors/Lights & Lamps/Bridges/Paintings for some more decor options, and Simple Hats (I wanted to wear a fox hat on my head. sue me). There's a few basic quality of life mods too, like AppleSkin and JEI, and some compatability add on mods for Create and the waystones to the maps, but that's it.
It's worked really well so far, and i haven't crashed at all-- though i have fallen victim to the massive sinkhole in the neighboring savannah I've been using as my strip mine and tree farm. I put keep inventory on, it's fiiiinnnneeeee-- I never like having stakes for death anyway, makes it too stressful. Let me throw myself from build height to bedrock without having to do the walk of shame for my stuff--
My game chugs a touch with Create, but all I had to do was turn down my graphics and be VERY careful to not dump out thousands of entities at once But that's just Create, really
oh, this can be a really great approach to playing modded too, especially if you personally know what mods you like and don't care about stuff like recipe compatibility! the main advantage of a 'true' modpack is normally that the good ones balance the recipes of the different mods to each other, and also i really prefer modpacks personally that have quest systems. but if your goal is to "play with mods" mostly, or, say, like you, you have a computer that can't handle heavier modpacks, or you just wanat a few things you like, this is a path that is DEFINITELY an option for a chill modpack!
i will say for those new to modded, here are some mods i recommend everyone include of the QOL variety, even if they're otherwise not doing many mods:
some variety of mimimap; xaero's is the one i'm most familiar with but choose your favorite.
if that minimap doesn't come with waypoints for some reason, get yourself a mod that adds waypoints.
quark. i never play modded minecraft without quark, if only for the rotation lock feature alone (never worry about which direction you're facing while placing a block again). you can go through quark's website to decide which features you'll enable and disable, and this is possible to do through an in-game gui, so even people who don't want to touch .json files can easily configure what quark features they do and don't use! it just adds... so many little qol things.
appleskin. this just makes the food bar more useful and shows you saturation. i don't know why vanilla doesn't do this.
jei (just enough items). you will ALWAYS WANT JEI WHILE PLAYING MODDED I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW HANDY THIS IS. a searchable list of every item in the game, which you can click on in order to see their recipes, and even automatically transfer items from your inventory to a crafting grid for that recipe! it's in every modpack ever for a reason! the larger the modpack, the more you're gonna want this!
a performance mod. personally i'd recommend not using optifine, as optifine is a mod a lot of other mods note break them, but if your particular pack is optifine compatible, go for it! most packs i've seen go with either sodium on fabric or rubidium on forge, but there are also other options! i'd just include at least one.
any other convenience you've ever had in another modpack that you want! personally, i need something like tom's simple storage network, drawers, or both to want to play a given modpack, because i get sad without storage, but maybe you only want to play packs with a variety of crops! maybe you think sophisticated backpacks or sophisticated storage are a requirement in your mind! maybe supplementaries or other decorative mods are a requirement to you! the world is your oyster! add whatever of those!

My opinions on the mlp weed poll options
Twilight Sparkle: could be a fun pick if she starts infodumping, but her nervous nature makes me worried she's gonna have a freak out and harsh the vibes. Celestia doesn't care about weed but she'd convince herself she'll get her wings torn off for it somehow
Pinkie Pie: you might think her party pony nature would make her too intense with the high, but her whole thing is making sure everypony else is having a good time, so she'd make sure you're at a pleasant high unless you refuse to communicate, in which case she may accidentally get you too high, but she'd apologize after. Honestly probably the safest bet, though she'll be higher than you the whole time
Rainbow Dash: she wouldn't smoke because it can damage your lungs and she needs those BUT she'd make buy edibles from Pinkie and do an eating challenge with you and laugh at you if you didn't participate/ate less. Rancid high for both of you probably
Rarity: I'd rather be drunk with her personally cause she'd be so fun wine drunk. The high will probably kickstart her fashion zone and you'll suddenly be a very high mannequin and then when you both wake/sober up you'll have on either the best dress in history or an atrocious mess. She'll give it to you either way.
Fluttershy: she smokes weed for medicinal reasons but if she tried to do it recreationally she would freak out. Weed comic is real what can I say
Applejack: it's gonna be wrapped in dried appleskin and super pleasant tbh. But you won't realize how strong it is until it's too late, cause shes a farmer and she needs the strong stuff. You'll wake up under a quilt and expected (not required, but you won't refuse) to help with thr morning chores. Plenty of snacks though

Having a bit of trouble translating the name of my oc Sunspots. Obviously Sun- is Awlhar which is easy enough. She's a calico and is named after her orange patches, but the name is also supposed to invoke the imagery of dappled sunlight coming through leaves.
I'm guessing I can't really translate this double meaning effectively in clanmew- which is fine, I'll just weigh up my options and pick whichever one I like best, but I can't figure out exactly how to translate them
I hope this makes sense, sorry it's kind of complicated!!
Do I really not have a word for dapple?? Let's fix that, that translates directly. The dapple on appleskin, on pelts, the way light filters through gaps in the trees...
Dapple (pattern) = Papla
Dappletail's name is Paplaswash, which is actually very close to the word for a rainbow (object not color), Papaswash. Appledapple's name is Wobepapla.
There is also a verb here, with an abstract and a difficult translation;
Palashayan/Palashaya/Palasha = For light to be filtered through something somewhat clear, so that the color changes from what its source radiated.
If you lay in tall, red poppies, the light will pass through the petals and the dapples will be scarlet. Look down into a stream, and you will see the water reflect the blue sky. When the sunbeam passes through a cloud (or, a Clan cat believes this), it looses the righteous fury of Sun Shadow defending his throne from challengers.
Palashayan is a change in perspective. It's something that makes you reconsider what you thought you were. Even light (ahai) itself can change, though its source (shayu) rarely does.
It's not necessarily an epiphany, and it isn't as massive as a metamorphosis. It's smaller, but still meaningful.

A World of Possibilities, and All of Them Yours!
AV External Instant Messaging System status for user LuxF: Active AV External Instant Messaging System status for user AshwringerCustomerRelations: Inactive
Thank you for your inquiries!
--__--__--__--
OOC Welcome to The Catalogue of Lux Feli! This is an interactive story chronicling the (mis)adventures of the titular protagonist in an unfamiliar world. The majority of the story will be told via text accompanied by gameplay screenshots, though the occasional drawing or post in an alternate medium may appear.
Please feel free to send in asks, plot relevant or otherwise! Asks will be answered by Lux by default, unless the ask is specifically addressed otherwise.
Inspired by @for-quill-with-love :D
Disclaimers: -I am one person, I am not taking this too seriously, and I can be very absent minded. Plot holes are likely, if not inevitable. Don't worry, it just means the story comes with extra pockets. -Cursing and mentions of/mild descriptions of (mostly cartoonish) violence are likely. They will not be ever-present, but they most likely will appear in some posts. I will be keeping it at about a PG-13 level, with the possible exception of the limits on swearing that will imply, though this 'limit' will be broken sparingly. -I cannot guarantee all asks will be answered, but if not all are, most will be. -I am playing with mods, though some will be used far more extensively than others. -Be careful what you tell Lux, lest he be led astray…. >:)

Posts answering asks or otherwise considered "in between" main/gameplay posts will be tagged this way, with the first number being the number of the gameplay post prior, and the second number ordering the posts since the prior gameplay post numerically.
A note on tags: by default, all tags are ooc - including and especially 'talking tags'. If I have ooc thoughts to share, they'll often be in the tags. A note on the blog runner: if I drop off the face of the earth, do not worry. It may be that my sense of object permanence has ceased working on this blog. Hopefully temporarily.

top 5 minecraft mods
this ones hard cus i dont rly use many mods other than just a few small optimization/quality of life things......i suppose in terms of things i currently use, i find geophilic, eating animation, appleskin, creeper overhaul (though i use the resource pack instead so the creepers just look different and dont have the gameplay changes like some creepers being neutral or dropping different items), and visuality pretty nice!

What mods n shaderpacks u runnin?
-complementary shaders i used slidurs vibrant shaders for a long time but i really love how complementary changes the skybox, especially in the end
-apotheosis probably the largest overhaul mod i have; i love how it changes enchanting; makes it feel more rewarding to gather the materials for more powerful bookshelves. i havent really gone too deeply into understanding the other modules of the mod though
-alex's mobs a recent addition - really loving it. adds a ton of life to the game :) unfortunately i have a bug where the in-game dictionary of all the animals crashes my game so i just keep a tab of the wiki open lol
-farmers delight a farming mod i prefer over pam's harvestcraft, which i find really overwhelming. ill probably add nethers delight too at some point
-aquaculture 2 feesh :)
-sound physics remastered neat mod that changes how distant noises sound in caves. heres it in action
-natures compass the "i dont wannaaaaaaa travel randomly in one direction trying to find a biome" mod
-fast leaf decay the "i dont wannaaaaa wait for this forest i just chopped down to decay" mod
-journeymap nice mod that adds a minimap + waypoints for the easily lost (me). also fun to scroll through the larger map screen to see how far youve explored the world
-just enough items the "idk what the recipe for this modded item is" mod
-other smaller mods/libraries to help other mods work: Clumps, enchantment descriptions, patchouli, appleskin, placebo, bookshelf, citadel

Stella McCartney FW23
From Anders Christian Madsen's review for Vogue
Judging from the models’ stoicism in these pictures, it’s hard to believe that seven un-haltered white Camargue horses were running around the sand-strewn arena immediately to the left of the runway. They entered the Manège de l'École Militaire to a fanfare of Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode—“reach out, touch faith!”—wafting their long silvery manes as they galloped through the 18th century riding ring. They were joined by the horse whisperer Jean-François Pignon, who gently encouraged them to rear, run in circles and roll around in the sand. “There’s so much leather and feather and fur on the runway, especially in winter, and I just wanted to show that you can do it in a different way. You don’t have to kill anything,” Stella McCartney said after the show.
“It’s beautiful: the tailoring, the bespoke work. As someone who studied that for many years, you can’t get away from it,” she said, reflecting on those uniforms. “The relationship between the man and the woman and the horse and nature, it’s this kind of pull-and-push, and I think there’s a poetry at the center of it all.” McCartney applied her equestrian grammar to the Y2K language of her own fashion history, which she first re-introduced last season. The fusion materialized in skimpy hussar jackets, little cropped vests, deconstructed denim suits from another equestrian culture, and low-riding trousers that infused McCartney’s Chloé-era draped hip chains with fresh tack associations.
Those memories continued in dresses and knitwear that revived the horse print from her spring/summer 2001 collection for Chloé, albeit in a blurry evocation. McCartney’s ongoing rekindling with her own archives from her tenure at the house is timely—it’s what the kids want (just ask her teenaged daughter) but it’s clearly also invigorating the designer in new ways. Everything suddenly feels a little bit more impassioned in the house of Stella. Last season’s oversized blazers and coats were back today—as on many other runways this month—now adorned in the checks of horse blankets and some sculpted with the nipped-in waists of hunting jackets. As a nod to her family history, McCartney emblazoned her mother's horse photography on evening dresses, and the horse photography of her sister Mary on shirts—one worn by Pignon himself.
Asked to elaborate on the relationship between the collection and horses, McCartney smiled: “I guess the main relationship is that they’re alive and the clothes haven’t killed anything. There’s a celebration of everyone living in harmony together.” Next to an exhaustive list of the sustainable materials that made up the collection (too long to mention but accessible on her website), she enforced that philosophy in three new handbags created from state-of-the-art alternatives to animal leather: one from the plant-based, plastic-free and circular material MIRIUM; another crafted in croc-effect AppleSkin made from apple waste; and the first-ever bag made from a white version of the mushroom material Mylo.
