Leg day is always such a mental battle for me. It’s not very often I come away from a heavy leg session feeling happy and proud. Today I got a rep PB on 40kg squats though. 12 reps for 2 sets. Struggled with 50kg so didn’t even bother going to 55kg. I did do 8 reps at 50kg but the depth was only good for the first 3 or so. Anyway. Well that’s a wrap on the 12 week #applewatchcomp my PT has been holding. What a great 12 weeks it has been! It’s been so motivating and inspiring seeing everyone work hard and I’ve loved watching the videos of others. . My goal was to gain strength, which is what I’ve done! I have lost around 5lbs which wasn’t my main focus, just a something that happened when I was taking my macros more seriously and counting them consistently. Here’s my strength gains: 🏋🏼♀️ SQUATS 45kg to 55kg 🏋🏼♀️ BENCH 4 reps at 40kg to 2 sets of 8 at 40kg, PB 45kg for 3 reps 🏋🏼♀️ DEADLIFTS: hex bar 48kg (had a bad back) to Olympic bar 70kg 🏋🏼♀️ CLEANS: 25kg to 30kg . Also made improvements on other areas such as core work, press-ups and chin-ups. . I’m very happy with the results, it’s been a long 12 weeks but I’ve not missed a single lone workout, I’ve tracked calories everyday and stayed within my goal and I got to my 2019 fitness goal - 8 reps of 40kg on bench. Not bad to say there’s a video of me on here failing rep 2 of 40kg on the 26th January! . I’m still going to carry on working just as hard but taking it 4 weeks at a time in line my training program. Chest day today. I’m feeling a bit sore from doing deadlifts and shoulders on Saturday, then deadlifts yesterday with pull-up, press-up and dip practice but still wanted to go for it with chest day today! No 8 reps at 40kg today, failed the 8th rep. But I matched my rep PB of 3 at 42.5kg. When I sat down with my PT @fitness_chef_pt at the start of the year my goal was got bench 40kg for 8 reps. I had been stuck at 2-3 reps for ages and today I finally reached my goal. 🎥1: 8 reps at 40kg 🎥2: 3 reps at 42.5kg Both of these are PBs as when I did 42.5kg a few weeks ago in a PT session, my 3rd rep was assisted. I can’t believe how happy I am. Getting a PT has been the best thing I’ve ever done, I tried a few years ago on my own but didn’t really know what I’m doing and only could bench 32.5kg. And here I am, deadlifting my body weight, smashing my bench goals and getting lower and lower on my squat every week. I focus on strength, not what the scale says and it’s been such a positive shift in mind set. Leg day today! A bit annoyed at myself for not hitting the box on some of these but it’s given me something to go away and work on. After doing 8 reps at 58kg pretty comfortably I decided to give 63kg a try. Dickhead over here loaded it was 5kg plates instead of 2.5kg and only realised when I watched this back. Wondered why I. it felt hard! I think this is a deadlift PB?!? It’s def a hex deadlift PB - so hurrah. First vid: 8 x 58kg Second vid: 4 x 68kg Lol. Trying these body weight circuits again. First time I did this I was able to do negative pull ups pretty controlled but the last two times I’ve struggled. Got the resistant band to to help me today, could have done with a straight bar but the cage was in use. Also hello random guy looking at the camera. This would have mortified me a few weeks ago but now I’m like whatever. Will be worth it when I can do like 300 muscle ups in a row. 🥴 For now I just need to work out how keep hanging on 🤸🏼♂️😅 5 x negative pull ups 8 x press-ups 45 sec plank. 3 sets. 20 sec hang x 5 8 hanging knee raises 5 x negative tricep dips 3 sets 8 assisted pull-ups 8 assisted chin-ups 8 assisted dips 3 sets. First rest day tomorrow in 14 days. Could explain why I’m not feeling as strong in the pull ups. Starting the first day of the week off strong. Did the strength leg session of my new program today. In my last 4 week block I was focusing on 40kg dept, now it’s time to get that 45kg and 50kg strong and deep! Trained shoulders and back today. Here are my power clean thrusters. First video 4 at 25kg and second set 6 at 22.5kg. Hope to add a few extra reps on over the next few weeks. Need to work on front squat depth and also my grip as I start to struggle to flip the bar into the front squat which stops me going for more reps. Doom. This move is a killer and always gets my heart beating! Hope to get to 30kg soon, but for now I just want to work on that form and depth in my front squat #storyofmylife. . Fitness Update // Week 8 is over
Week 8 of the #applewatchcomp that my PT is doing with her clients is over. We’re 2 thirds of the way there and this means that there are only 4 weeks left! I’ quite proud of myself, I’ve done all my workouts and stayed within my calories for the whole time. I’ve made lots of progress and I’m really pleased with myself!
