|| Menaka's entry to Indra's court: Then and Now ||
Eons have passed, yet Menaka still makes a striking entry at Indra's court. The same faces stare at her in awe, and she still smiles demurely at the attention she receives.
'She is like a rose in fresh bloom.' She had once overheard some of the junior apsaras talk about her amongst themselves. That day, she had looked at her mirror for a long time.
The first time when she had entered the court, she was highly nervous. Fresh as a lily, she was churned out of the milky ocean with no knowledge of her job and her surroundings. The devas and devis had stared at her in awe, paying no heed to her blush that adorned her fair cheeks.
Rambha, the queen of the apsaras immediately took a young Menaka under her wing and taught her dance, music, and the art of making love. Menaka being a quick learner could execute her dance movements with utmost perfection, impressing Rambha and the other apsaras.
Beauteous she was indeed. She often chose to drap herself in red garments. Red, the colour of love, passion and courage. Years later, she found the red colour in two of her lovers and her lovely little girl.
After training for months under Rambha, the queen had announced her arrival to the court for her debut performance. The divine residents of Swarga had impatiently waited for the newly arrived apsara to perform. Some wondered if her skills would be superior to the queen or not.
That evening, she arrived in a dark red garment with gold jewels adorned on her limbs. A rose adorned her thick braid that moved like a graceful snake with every sway of her hips. She hadn't noticed the lovelorn stare of one of the gandharvas who in the coming days would rule her heart.
Needles to stay, her debut performance was a huge success. The other apsaras had congratulated her, but Rambha's smile made Menaka the happiest.
Time has passed since that fateful day. The rose like charming maiden still possesses a bashful smile at the end of her performance. Urvashi, now her best companion hypes her up before her dance and hugs her tightly when she is done with her evening dance. Each time her anklet jingles, the divine beings beside her turn their attention towards her.
Not much has changed since then. But Menaka, now has considered Swarga as her home. The mortals might make stories how one apsara is envious of the other, but she knows that each one of the heavenly beauties will always have her back, and she theirs. Yes, that day she had missed catching Vasu's lovelorn stare at her, but now, when he finishes the final note on his Sitar, she always meets his eyes and winks at him while the charming gandharva pretends to faint at her.
Urvashi and Rambha smile at the couple and then call Menaka to join them for the rest of the evening.

Venus + Rahu + Moon in 8th house
With this Conjunction, you are always looking for " what's next", , it's like " what do I do next", your mind is always craving for something new that can be added to your "to-do list" . Now, the big thing is, I don't have the degrees of planets here, so I actually don't know which planet is having more power in this Conjunction, therefore, this is a very general reading on this conjunction. Since both your Venus and Mars are exchanging signs , making it a parivartan yoga, you are not the kind of person who would cheat on their partner, even though situations like this can come up, but you would try your best to not to cheat on them. But there is a possibility that your partner can suspect that you are cheating on their back, but after all, it is an exchange of 8th and 9th house lord. Therefore, suspections can be a part of your marriage life in general.
This Conjunction is also called " apsara yoga", since you are already, I guess you already know what apsara means. Therefore, it can indicate that you have great potential to be an artist especially an actress. If you had to play a role of someone who is like addicted ( because rahu is present in this Conjunction), plus seductive roles, you could do them well. Like those kind of roles where a woman comes in between of a couple and tries to seduce them. Venus and Rahu Conjunction can also indicate that you can marry someone far away or from different culture. This can also indicate that there's this female figure in your family ( because both venus and moon being feminine energies are present here), is of different backgrounds or country or religion.
Jupiter aspecting 8th house
Since Jupiter indicates someone who is elder in age and quite mature, therefore, if you ever want to marry someone outside of your religion or country, then you can do that, because elders can support you but 12th house Jupiter is in leo and even the lord of 12th house is in Pisces, therefore, there is chance of some people supporting you and some not and many people like people in general gossiping about you. Plus, Jupiter aspecting Venus, also gives high chances for you to marry someone foreigner. But the road is not smooth , you have to struggle a lot.
Venus aspecting 2nd house + Ketu
Venus in 2nd house indicates that you have a sweet and persuasive voice in general but with Ketu already in 2nd house can indicate that you have tendency to easily become cold as possible. Especially in relationships, a very little thing is enough for you turn cold and stay grumpy about it for long.
Venus In Bharani
Bharani Venus is someone who has lots of s*xual kinks but will never show it , never! People around them think that they are all innocent and doesn't know stuffs at all but that's not how it is! Also, Bharani indicates d*ath and rebirth , therefore, you can be very interested in them. Also it indicates that your mother is very busy person, because even your moon in Aries indicates this. She can be very busy even if she is a housewife, like she tried to provide everything for you but in the process of doing so, she couldn't pay much attention to you and it was not intentional.

Fallen women in Hindu mythology
I’m considering making a series of drabbles & moodboards about so-called “fallen” women in Hindu mythology. More details underneath the cut. Content warnings for period-typical sexism and mentions of rape, kidnapping, & forced marriages.
One of the recurring themes throughout the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and other epics is women who have been kidnapped or assaulted, and are hereafter considered impure and unworthy to be part of society. I’m thinking about making an edit series to “redeem” these women and show them as the individuals they were, human beings who are complex but also deserving of so much more.
This is an incomplete list; if anyone has any names they want to add, reply to this post.
Ahalya: wife of Gautauma, turned to stone for 10000 years for sleeping with Indra, king of the gods (adultery or rape, depending on the myth)
Ambika and Ambalika: They were kidnapped, along with their sister Amba, from their swayamvara by Bhishma. Because they had been touched by another man, all three princesses were considered dirty. Amba was rejected by her fiance, Salwa, and scorned by society, leading her on a path of revenge that eventually helped cause Kurukshetra. Her younger sisters were compelled to marry Bhishma’s brother, Vichitravirya, and while the marriage is reputed to have been happy if childless, that doesn’t erase the dubious nature of Ambika and Ambalika’s consent.
Ruma: Sugriva’s wife, held captive and raped by Vali after the two brothers fight and Sugriva is forced to flee his kingdom. Although in the text, there’s nothing that explicitly blames her, she receives very little attention in canon, despite being at the center of the fight over Kishkindha. People also often criticize Rama for his underhanded killing of Vali, even though Vali was raping his sister-in-law, and to me, that’s another symbol of Ruma’s erasure.
Sita: Rama’s wife, she is held captive by Ravana for a year and undergoes significant anguish while in Lanka. Even after she is rescued, doubts linger over her chastity, leading her to be tried by fire, exiled while pregnant, and rejected once more when her children are grown. Eventually, Sita asks the earth to swallow her up, tired of being tested.
Draupadi: Not much explanation needed here, her attempted disrobing is one of the key causes of Kurukshetra.
Rambha: Rambha was the Queen of the Apsaras, and the wife of Nalkuber, king of the yakshasas. Prior to the Ramayana, she was raped by Ravana. Due to Brahma’s (or Shiva’s) boon, Nalkuber cursed him that if he ever forced another woman, his head would burst into seven pieces. This curse would protect Sita, generations later, from the worst of Ravana’s tortures.
Captives of Narakasura: The demon Narakasura captured 16000 women to be his wives, and held them prisoner in his palace. After he was defeated by Krishna and Satyabhama, the women planned to commit suicide as their families would not accept them back. Satyabhama pleaded with her husband to marry the captive women, to give them a home and honor. Krishna did so, taking them all back to Dwaraka, and they became his junior wives.
Satyavati: She had a son out of wedlock (and herself was born out of wedlock as well, I think?) and still managed to be a woman of great influence and the mother of the Kuru dynasty. That said, she helped arrange the kidnapping of the princesses of Kashi (or at least condoned it), so I find her decidedly less sympathetic than other women on this list.
Kunti: She has a child before her marriage, under circumstances I would call dubious consent, and the magnitude of this event is important in both her and Karna’s arcs.
Mother of Satyabhama Jabali: update description later

Apsara
She's more than what meets your eye. The Creator's mind made her to distract the mind, even the best of minds blessed with immense self-control. The poised and wise beings look beyond her bewitching looks and the rest lose their mind over her.
The apsaras choose regal colours like purple and red. Swayamprabha dons the colour white, representing purity, wisdom and the eternal light of knowledge.
Mortals today scoff at these passionate and beautiful beings of Swarga (heaven) who dance and sing and lure the sages to lust. But is that what are they capable of? To bring a man to lust with their heavy bosoms and slim waists?
Who is it you see in your temples? The beautiful lady sculpture you just passed by the temple, as you immersed yourself in the beauty of her craftsmanship is embodied by an apsara. The ladies who possess expertise over the arts, the forever inspiration of poets and sculptures, there is a lot more to the beauty they carry.
Swayamprabha knows that only a handful few see her beyond her pearly white garments and her enchanting looks. She smiles and plays the veena, singing a love ballad of two lovers uniting under a moonless night. The mortals of today's age may look at shringara rasa in disdain and consider it impure. But, Shringara rasa, the beauty of life, the beauty of art that has stayed strong all these centuries shall never fade.

My boyfriend asked me to tell him a story yesterday at 11pm and being true to my name as Raat ko likhne vali kanya i came up with a story from one of my apsara moodboards and told him about an apsara called Nilavati who meets a boy around the same age as her who died young on earth. This boy tells her about the mundane aspects of life on earth which fascinates her like young kids jumping into a pond . Nilavati finds devlok boring at times and marvels at human life while the guy though likes devlok but appreciates human life more because we have so many stories, so many struggles and colourful moments be it good and bad.
And GUESS WHAT the story is gonna continue today and I hope I finish it by 11.30 before we sleep
