The Israel Defense Forces said Friday that it killed Hezbollah’s top military commander and at least 10 other senior commanders in a rare airstrike targeting the terror group’s stronghold in Beirut, as the sides appeared closer than ever to entering a full-fledged war.
The IDF said the most prominent target of its airstrike, Ibrahim Aqil, was the head of Hezbollah’s military operations, the acting commander of the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, and was leading a planned operation to invade the Galilee.
Two security sources in Lebanon confirmed Aqil’s death, Reuters reported.
Aqil was also the most senior military member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body, after Israel’s assassination of Fuad Shukr in a strike in Beirut in July.
He had been wanted by the United States for his role in the 1983 bombings of the American Embassy in Lebanon and the US Marines barracks in Beirut.
In a curt statement issued on Friday evening, soon after the start of Shabbat, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Our goals are clear, and our actions speak for themselves.”

Before and after the strike targeting Aqil, Hezbollah fired some 200 rockets Friday at the northern Galilee and the Golan Heights. No casualties were reported following the barrages, which happened as the IDF alerted residents in the area to remain close to bomb shelters.

The main target of the Israeli airstrike in Beirut now was Ibrahim Aqil who is on the Jihad Council, Hezbollah's top military body
He was also wanted by the USA for his role in the 1983 bombing of a US Marines barracks in Beirut, as well as directing the taking of American and German hostages in Lebanon in the 1980s.
He had a $7 million bounty on him.

For months, Biden and Kamala Harris have tried to force Israel to accept fatally flawed terms with Hamas in Gaza and, by extension, Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Democrats are motivated by fear that anti-Israel voters in the upper Midwest, especially Muslim Americans in Michigan, will abandon the party.
The result has been a relentless pressure campaign against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, complete with attempts to undermine him politically at home and hamper Israel’s military by withholding munitions.
Recall that Secretary of State Antony Blinken sat in on cabinet meetings to dictate which targets Israel could attack.
The disgraceful effort, which included following the same playbook as anti-Israel mobs at the United Nations, prolonged the war and gave Hamas incentives to hold out for better deals.
Emboldening Hamas
Although some details remain unknown, the US was pushing for Israel to get back the remaining hostages abducted during the horrors of Oct. 7, some of them American citizens.
In exchange, it would release thousands of Palestinians arrested on terrorism charges.
Even worse, Hamas would have survived in some capacity, letting its leaders again plunder international aid, gain government control in Gaza and attack Israel again.
Even as Hamas kept upping its demands, Washington kept the heat on Israel.
Finally, Netanyahu spoke in the only language terrorists understand.
He rejected the Biden-Harris demand to halt Israel’s ground operation in Gaza and green-lighted last week’s sensational beepers-go-boom operation in Beirut.
Like a story line from “Fauda,” the hit streaming series about Israeli secret agents, disrupting Hezbollah’s communications delivered a psychological blow in addition to killing scores of fighters and injuring several thousand others.
Netanyahu followed with attacks on Hezbollah rocket launching sites and the targeted killing of one of the group’s top leaders.
Given that the leader, Ibrahim Aqil, was a US-designated terrorist linked to the 1983 bombings of our Marines barracks and embassy in Beirut that killed nearly 400 people, most of them US citizens, the White House should be celebrating.
Aqil had a $7 million American bounty on his head, and if Biden had any sense, he would send the check to Israel with a big thank you.
Instead, watch for long faces in the Harris campaign now that it’s clear she won’t get the Michigan political benefit of a pre-election cease-fire.

[USA Today is US Private Media]
Lebanon has been attacked by something the world has never seen before ‒ a mass sabotage of electronic devices remotely detonated. Tiny bombs inside pagers and walkie-talkies went off as the devices' users were in homes, supermarkets, buses and on the streets. At least 37 people, including two children, were killed and thousands wounded in two waves of attacks this week. Lebanon's government and Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group that uses the nation as a base for its militants, both blamed Israel. Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attacks directly, but anyone who pays attention to the Middle East understands that this operation almost certainly originated in Tel Aviv.[...]
On Friday, Israel launched an airstrike that reportedly killed senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil in Beirut. Israeli officials said Hezbollah later fired dozens of rockets into northern Israel.[...]
When you turn pagers into bombs, you have to know that there will be a high risk of collateral damage. The pagers belonged not just to military members of Hezbollah, but also medical staff and others.[...]
[Now,] an entire nation, Lebanon, has been terrorized. Its medical facilities are straining to handle all the bomb victims. Some in Lebanon are comparing the feeling of insecurity to the awful aftermath of the 2020 Beirut dock explosion.[...]
As an American, I financially support Israel with my tax dollars. If they are murdering Lebanese children, then to some extent, I did that.
Sure, Hezbollah’s ability to communicate internally has been gravely damaged, at least momentarily. But this tactic is spurring anger at Israel across all sectors of Lebanese society, and indeed, the Arab world. Iraq is sending medical supplies to Lebanon; Egypt is expressing solidarity.
Will it be harder or easier for Hezbollah to get recruits? The pager and walkie-talkie explosions killed and wounded a few fighters, but there will be three or four replacements for each one who fell.
[E]ven Hezbollah’s fiercest opponents are now rallying to their support.
It also will inevitably cause more and more Americans to wonder if we should be such strong supporters of a nation that uses tactics that terrorize an entire country and inevitably leave behind dead and wounded children.

At Prince Leopold University you are expected to be the best because remember the best are made not born and you are expected to get good or get lost.
Play as a scholarship student at Prince Leopold University attempt to balance attending classes, make rivals, meet lifelong friends and pursue budding romances all the while dealing with the administration of a major university. Or don't.
Getting a place in PLU is hard, getting a full scholarship is harder. You did both. So perhaps it's no wonder why everyone seems to have such high expectations for you, expected to maintain passing grades, attend your club and be a forward face for the school, it's not like it's anything you haven't done before right? But can you pull it off again?
Tumblr media
• Play as male, female or non-binary with options to be straight, gay, asexual or not pursue a romance at all.
• Experience a university that takes itself a little too seriously and expects you to do so as well – define your main character's personality, appearance, history and demeanour.
• Choose what scholarship you're on and which club you're in while training and playing like your scholarships on the line – because it is.
• Choose from track and field, music club, student council and drama club.
• Romance a hot-headed high-school rival, the brooding lead musician, the friendly student president who happens to be your brother's best friend, the charming but distant actor or your awkward roommate or the rebel with equally big dreams.
• Focus on or ignore your relationships with your teammates, acquaintances, family and friends back home, school staff and the public.
Tumblr media
The Hot Headed Rival A
Aqil/Aaliyah Radwan, 19
The Vice Captain of the PLU Track-And-Field Club and your highschool rival, they are intense and arrogant with the talent to back it up and they'll let you know it.
In the heat of an argument they find that they don't know why they're shouting anymore and that look on your face stirs something they'd rather not discover.
tldr; rivals to lovers and enemies to lovers.
The Brooding Musician H
Hader/Hetti Jasanoff, 19
The moody, brooding leader of the Screaming Diamonds and the PLU music club, they hate those who see their passion as nothing more than a hobby but they'll allow you to prove yourself.
In the midst of a performance they find their heart skips a beat but they don't want to face the music just yet.
tldr; everyone wants the bad boy and everyone likes musicians.
The Brother's Best Friend B
Beck/Belle Torres, 21
The social, spirited and amiable President of the Student Body and your brother's best friend, with much enthusiasm they're taking care of you at university although it's supposedly a favour.
Despite their popularity they seem to have held most people at arms length when asked they simply laugh and talk about their playground love.
tldr; brother's best friend and friends to lovers and the boy/girl next door.
The Distant Actor F
Frédéric/Frederica Jame, 19
The flirty but distant lead of the school play and the aspiring actor in the drama club, they're more than happy to have humour your whims but when you think about it you don't know all that much about them.
Despite that when you're on stage they only have one command "keep your eyes on me."
tldr; master of the mixed message.
The Awkward Roommate R
Rudra/Rania Punyamurthula, 18
Your roommate for this year at PLU, awkward, excitable, intelligent they seem to be unaccustomed to life without someone else around and they're infinitely excited to make their 'first real friend'.
When they're at every practice with snacks, every event cheering you on from the sidelines you get the sneaking suspicion that there's another reason for their enthusiasm.
tldr; roommates to romance and lonely rich kid.
The Singer Who Made It Big Sid
Sid Diver, 19
The lead singer of the other band on campus who seems to have a rocky relationship with both authority and a certain other musician, despite that he seems more than happy to welcome you into the fold as a new friend or maybe more with a laugh, wild grin and a dangerous look in his eyes.
You can't shake the feeling that they're angry and bitter when you hear them singing but in those hidden moments and stolen kisses behind the curtains, they feel different.
tldr; tenor boy and unreplaced departed.

🔴 Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:
The martyrdom of the prominent leaders Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wehbe, along with a group of field commanders, is a heavy loss. However, the will to resist is unbreakable, and the response will be will be proportionate to the crime.
Popular Front mourns the martyrs Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wehbe.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourned in a statement the prominent leaders of Hezbollah, Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wehbe along with a group of field commanders who were martyred due to a treacherous zionist bombardment that targeted Dahiye (the southern suburb of Beirut) yesterday.
The Popular Front extended its deepest condolences and sympathies to the brotherly Lebanese people and to the members of Hezbollah and its Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, for the martyrdom of the group of leaders and civilian martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
The Front expressed its full solidarity with the brotherly Lebanon and its valiant resistance, which has lost prominent symbols among its fighters and leaders of Hezbollah, who left significant marks in the struggle against the zionist enemy over many years. The great martyr leader Ibrahim Aqil, who led and participated in numerous battles that drained the zionist enemy, played a pivotal role in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, which changed the rules of engagement in support of Gaza. As for the prominent martyr leader Ahmed Wehbe, he played an important role in leading the Radwan Force on the support fronts, taking responsibility for training and preparing fighters for decisive battles, which contributed to enhancing the qualitative capabilities of the resistance.
The two martyrs, leaders Aqil and Wehbe, alongside the martyr leader Fouad Shukr, represented bright symbols in enhancing the resistance's capabilities at all levels in recent months. They played a leading role in the field of qualitative military operations and in strengthening the strategic and tactical capabilities of Hezbollah during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle.
The martyr leader Ibrahim Aqil had distinguished confrontations not only with the zionist enemy but also with the American enemy. He played a prominent role in countering American forces in Lebanon, participating in the famous attack on the American Marines, which led to their withdrawal from Lebanon after the explosion that shook the American presence in the region. This was a pivotal event in the course of the resistance.
This new zionist massacre, which resulted from a coordinated planning and execution between the American administration and the zionist entity, falls within a deliberate escalatory policy aimed at targeting infrastructure, civilian facilities, and innocent civilians, in a failed attempt to subdue the resistance, break its resolve, and weaken its popular support. However, they are mistaken if they believe that targeting the leaders will undermine the will of the resistance or weaken the steadfastness of our people.
The loss of these great symbols is a profound loss, but the resistance has always proven its ability to compensate for its losses. Its will does not waver in the face of challenges and the escalation of zionist crimes.
We firmly believe that the martyrdom of the leaders, despite its severity, cannot break the will of the resistance or weaken its determination. Rather, their pure blood will remain a fuel to ignite the fronts supporting Gaza from Lebanon and other arenas, strengthening the resolve of the fighters to confront the enemy by all possible means.
