Okay so positive stuff - on Monday my best friend is gonna visit me (we live six hours apart) and she's gonna stay a whole week.

Yesterday I finished the last main story quest of the video game Horizon Forbidden West (an amazing game btw.) and it inspired me to maybe write a fanfic for it. I haven't really been motivated to write a fanfic in like 2 years or something like that.

Yay! That's awesome, lovely. I'm glad you get to spend time your best friend. I'm going back home in over a week and can't wait to see my loved ones.

If you happen to think while playing Horizon Forbidden West to just quickly go into Cauldron Kappa because it can't take that long and you've got an hour or so to kill...DON'T.

And the advice to only go well prepared - double it for that Cauldron.

I spent about two hours in that and fighting the boss machine because a previous fight cost quite a number of healing berries that I couldn't refill entirely before having to face the boss machine (plus some bad luck added) was not all that much fun.

I didn't get the special part I could have gotten from the boss machine but I honestly don't care because I'm simply glad to have finished the fight successfully - with 20 minutes to spare before bedtime XD

Here is to struggling through the year not knowing wtf we are doing and coming out on top as best as we can. Proud that none of us have gone postal hah but super grateful for those of you here. I feel that I would lose my sanity without yall and I just want yall to be happy and blessed.

Ich frag mich echt manchmal, was durch die Köpfe der Chefs bei uns geht...

Der Leitende Direktor hat sich Freitagabend ein Buch aus der Bibliothek mitgenommen und mir deshalb ne Mail geschrieben. Schon mal ein Fortschritt weil es zuletzt nicht nur ein Mal vorkam, dass er Bücher zurückgeben oder zurückgeben lassen hat, von denen ich gar nicht wusste, dass er sie mitgenommen hatte.

Deswegen hab ich Kollege Bibliothek auch gebeten, das bei der Hauskonferenz letzte Woche zu erwähnen. Weil ne PRÄSENZbibliothek in der die Bücher mitgenommen werden, ohne dass die verantwortliche Person davon weiß taugt nix.

Wie der LD aus der Bitte, mir ne Mail zu schicken wenn sie was mitnehmen während ich nicht da bin ein 'fummeln wir an Arawynns Übersichtsliste der ausgeliehenen Bücher herum und schließen die Datei nicht/lassen den PC mal wieder tagelang laufen' geworden ist verstehe ich beim besten Willen nicht.

Die Datei ist jetzt unter Schreibschutz, weil der Chef die noch offen hat, sodass ich bestenfalls mit Umwegen damit arbeiten kann - über neu abspeichern und dann mit der Kopie arbeiten - aber das erzähle ich den Chefs nicht, damit die erst gar nicht mehr auf solche blödsinnigen Ideen kommen.

Und natürlich ist der LD heute definitiv und morgen irgendwas zwischen vielleicht und wahrscheinlich nicht im Haus...

   This was the absolute worst case scenario. Sam had said he was gone to find something to eat -- they had Lembas, and as grateful as they were for it, they could use something new every once in awhile -- but he had been gone for quite some time now, and Frodo was beginning to think something horrible had happened. He had been determined to leave the Fellowship, and do this on his own but Sam had followed, and Frodo knew just how impossible this would be without him.

   And now he was beginning to think that Sam might actually be gone.

   The Hobbit was very careful as he moved through the trees from the small camp they had made, sharp eyes doing their best to mark any and all movement. Unluckily for him, he didn’t have eyes in the back of his head. But he did his keen ears, and whipped around the moment he heard something behind him. He was met with a woman standing there, and Frodo was immediately on high alert. Anyone could be a spy for Sauron.

   He wasn’t entirely sure what to say. He had to think of something to defend himself, especially if he was trespassing.

As soon as the patrol hit the courtyard, Glorfindel was yelling out instructions to get the wounded to the healers, then he was out of his saddle and off like a shot through the gardens and to the forest beyond. Once he hit the tree line, a yell of pure rage left him. He started pacing, berating himself for his stupidity and inability to protect those under him. It didn’t take long for him to find a sturdy tree and start punching to emphasize his words to himself.

So I’ve been playing Horizon Zero Dawn and having lots of fun with it (honestly, if you’re looking for an action/fight rpg with an interesting and rather deep backstory, I highly recommend it) and I’ve managed to go 50 to 60 hours without having to fight Stormbirds. At all. I broke that streak today. By fighting two. It was my luck they’re loners and I had quite some time between the fights to restock my healing herbs. Otherwise I definitely would have been royally fucked.

(Background for those who don’t know anything about the game: Stormbirds are really big eagle-inspired machines that shoot electricity at you. Definitely among the most difficult machine-enemies of the game.)

So due to a massive change in the timetable of my bus line (which was incredibly unfortunate for me), I had decided to drive to work by car myself and went looking for a car with my parents today and even found one I like and can afford so I hope we can get an appointment with the car dealer my parents trust in hopes to get either that one or another that suits my needs. I still kind of need to wrap my head around all of that.
