Arcane animators self referencing!
Tumblr media
This animator got to use his son for young Ekko's reference and it's so damn sweet!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine acting up this incredibly heart-wrenching scene in your lounge to a rolled up sock on a bag... They gave it their all too!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene's acting fidelity is incredible! Especially the shakiness of Ekko's movement to punch Jinx...

When I rewatch arcane bringing the rift, I noticed something that I didn't see when the first time I watched it (I was sleepy af) and I already see some people on twit notice this.

Beside Caitlyn that could be Viktor Machine Herald concept art/design. I 💯 sure that's Viktor. Like what happen to that arm? Did he lose it from the council attack? And will he make himself a new arm?? And again, I found this as well. (I'm so sorry for bad quality)

Animator Moïse’s Section On Ekko
Tumblr media
I just really loved Moïse’s section on Ekko. Especially when we see that he has Ekko’s figurines in his home.
Tumblr media
While representation is always important - sometimes it can feel paint by numbers. A box to check. Do this and you’ll get this kind of thing. Soulless. Passionless.
When there’s no passion behind it or in a lot of cases the people who are being represented on screen aren’t behind-the-scenes at all - you get something that doesn’t make you excited or really anyone excited.
So, seeing this section made me so happy. I don’t know this animator and he was only part of the documentary for a few minutes, but I’m so happy for him and for us that he got to work on Ekko. That his ideas for Ekko were listened to and implemented.
Representation isn’t paint-by-numbers, so it should never feel like it is.
-
Again, I just really love this section.
Moïse talking about how Ekko is the kind of character he would’ve loved to see when he was a kid.
To talking about how he did something different for Vi and Ekko’s first scene than what was originally planned, which changed the tone of the scene and even the character of Ekko.
How he wanted to work on Ekko and Jinx’s fight so badly and when he was put on that team, he was so happy.
To him using his son as a reference for Young Ekko’s movements.
It just made me so happy.
I’m not saying this one animator is the entire reason why Ekko feels so real and is awesome - as the entire show feels so real and is beyond awesome. One animator doesn’t deserve all that credit - but clearly because Moïse’s work on Ekko being a focus for this section of Part III of Bridging The Rift, Moïse was clearly a big part in that spark of life for Ekko.
-
The big question is –
Sir, are you the one who convinced them to drop the Original Mohawk? And gave Ekko his amazing hair? Or at least suggested it?
If so, you deserve all the praise for Ekko. Everyone should be so fucking grateful to you. Riot should be beyond grateful to you.
If not, you still clearly deserve so much praise; and I’m glad Ekko had you in his corner and that you got to work on a character you clearly love and care about.
But also, could you point me to the direction of the person who did make/suggest they drop that awful mohawk?

Oh, the creators definitely have refined Silco! I can't imagine him with such a nose and strange lips, it's absolutely not for him. I'm so glad Silco turned out the way he is.

After having recently gotten into Arcane as of late and been really sinking my teeth into more Arcane related content. Been noticing a strange amount of hate against Jayce for some reasons. Such as him being made out like he's some spoiled pamper rich billion kid or him being made out like he's a total scumbag on some level.
One of the things I loved so much about Arcane is how realistic and human all of the characters feel within the show, every character in Arcane are highly flawed people that can both be equally in the wrong or right and can make bad or very poor decisions. Jayce is probably one of the few people from Piltover ( besides Caitlnyn) who genuinely cares about others and wants to truly help those by using his gifted intelligence and science to better people's lives, granted he does end up being pretty misguided, or there's moments in the show were I disagree with a few of his actions or certain lines he has said such as that scene on the bridge with Viktor with the enforcer's brigade as tensions are rising and him straight up mistakenly generalizing all of those from the Undercity as " dangerous" knowing full well that Viktor is from the Undercity. I understood why he said it because he was worried about Viktor and thus made a very poor choice of wording in his worried state which I thought was pretty realistic. Cause sometimes folks can say things they don't mean or hurt those they care about by saying stupid stuff in the heat of the moment or in anger, but it shown that he immediately regrets what he said by his expression and quickly apologized afterwards. Jayce is a genuinely good person who stumbles throughout the show and makes certain Iffy choices but still tries to do what's right.
Also really don't understand why some think Jayce is highly wealthy or like a rich kid when the series makes it clear on different occasions in the dialogue that Jayce is from a much lower house and that his family are basically I would say blue-collar workers or as said in the show "those people who makes the hammers", I mean the fact that Caitlnyn family needed to support him so he could do his work and the apartment he was using was one of theirs pretty much says a lot that he was far from super rich not to mention other factors shown in the series.

I forget which part, but I loved in Bridging the Rift, how the Arcane Creators (Christian) were basically like well today’s the day we’re recording Powder begging Vi not to leave; so we’re going to have to make a little girl cry in order to get the emotions needed for this scene, so that’ll be “fun.”
But nope!
Mia made them (and all of us) cry with her performance.

The fact that one of the guys responsible for Arcane started his career at Riot answering player tickets is simply blowing my mind. Never give up on your dreams y'all :')
