Vi floated, Caitlyn's voice - good girl, I've got you, you're safe - a gentle murmur in her ear. She rode the waves of euphoria until they petered out into rivlets of pleasure, all the while holding onto the anchor of Caitlyn's body pressed reassuringly against hers. It had taken her a while, but she was finally at the point where she could trust another person to see her this vulnerable, this exposed. Life had taken a lot from her, but Caitlyn seemed determined to give back to her in equal measure, and for that Vi was grateful.

Short Violyn Arcane fic that's more just the concept in case somebody wants to write out the details:

Cait gets sick. and Vi might comment on Piltes having weaker immune systems but says she'll go get something for her cold.

Thing is that Vi is from the undercity. So it's just one of those home remedies that comes right out if left field. She's looking around for like a sea slug that's just seen as a pest by topsiders. So she can use the slime for it's healing properties.

This can be discovered if Caits dad sees her and asks what she's looking for:

Caits dad is like "you're doing what?"

I feel like a scene between the two of them could be interesting.

Or if she makes it back to Cait with nobody stoppig her because Vi is probably not gonna ask for help anyway and use the balcony window as her door.

And Caits like holding out her hand, eyes closed, expecting cold pills. Big wet thing. Jumpscare.

Vi catches the slug and laughs because who would be afraid of one of these?

Caits like: What the beep was that?

Vi: uhh, your medicine?

Cait: you're joking! *actually takes a second to take in Vi's confusion* you're not joking?.. *with all that proper accent of trying not to show disgust and having a mixture of sympathy* Is this what you use in the undercity?

Vi: And Stillwater

Cait, internally adding that to the list of messed up things she's learned about from Vi.

Idk where to go from there. Vi learns about cold pills and works with Caits father to learn how to take care of someone top side style.

We get such gems as this posh mans reaction to Vi's commentary like: I've never seen somebody use pills like this before.

Because I didn't even think about pills in illegal drug culture until this part of the post.

"But *whyyyyy*?" Vi pouted, nuzzling into Caitlyn's shoulder.

"Because," Caitlyn replied, voice gentle yet firm, "the primary suspect on the Robinson case has been tied to a smuggling operation in Bilgewater. The department needs to send a representative to be a part of the investigation, and you're the only officer available."

"But if I go, *she'll* be there!" Vi whined.

Caitlyn ran her fingers through Vi's spiky pink hair comfortingly. "Now now, it can't be that bad."

Vi looked up suddenly. "It *is* that bad! She'll try to flirt with me the entire time."

Caitlyn raised an eyebrow. "And will that be a problem?"

Vi hesitated. "N-no, of course not! I mean, she's pretty, but she's got nothing on you, Cupcake."

Caitlyn nodded appreciatively, never having doubted for a moment her partner's loyalty. "So what's the problem?"

"It's just ... I dunno, it feels really unprofessional and distracting! You know how she is."

"Mmh." Caitlyn nodded, remembering her own previous interactions with the Queen of Bilgewater. "Well, maybe what you need to do is turn the tables on her. Catch *her* off guard.

Vi frowned. "And how would I do that?"

Caitlyn grinned wickedly, pulling her partner into an embrace. "I've got just the thing. I was having lunch with Mel the other day, and I heard the juiciest rumor coming out of Noxus..."

*the next day*

"Well, hey there, hot stuff!" Sarah Fortune exclaimed as Vi walked into the room. "Came back to see me after our last little adventure?"

Vi didn't even bother to respond, instead tossing something at the scarlet-haired woman. Sarah caught it, raising an eyebrow at the pair of fuzzy cuffs that had landed in her hands.

"Well, well, skipping the foreplay this time I see? Very well, are you going to put these on me or shall I?"

Vi paused, looking at her straight in the eye, before adopting the most cocky, shit-eating grin Sarah has ever seen.

"They're not for me. Next time you see Katarina, give them to her, and tell her that Piltover's Finest sends House du Couteau their regards."

Sarah stared at the cuffs for a long moment. Finally, in a completely neutral, deadpan tone of voice, she said, "We'll want to start by looking at the shipping manifests. If you'll follow me to my office..."
