It's difficult to really settle on a favorite scene because I love adoriel's tears, and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you it's in my top 3 favorite IFs, but if I had to settle on one it's definitely the barn scene. MC meeting Zephyr and Arthur making chaos with his magic but it actually ends up making my MC laugh.

Before that, she was excited to meet Tobias' apprentice, then had this weird feeling (of jealousy) when actually seeing her uncle and Arthur together and them interacting, to being somewhat apprehensive. Because this boy not only almost saw her peeing in the woods, but he also took away her uncle AND her only save space! Now, deep down she understood it's not Arthur's fault, but she was a bit angry at the situation. But when Arthur wanted to show her his magic to help and screwed up it made her realize that Arthur is kind and it's not his fault (Tobias made the mistake of bringing him and bringing to my MC's attention that maybe she should worry about her beloved uncle loving Arthur more and being replaced (that really backfired lmao)).

Uhm, sorry for this long message and kinda getting away from the question... anyways. Every scene with Tobias and Arthur is a scene I love. Those two, so far, are my fav characters :D

The stable scene has so many variations! Mc few decide to let their guard down. Others don't, but your choice is one of my favorites. It shows Mc that Arthur isn't a threat, but a child like them 🥺

How would you describe Snape as a father?

Clueless

He would have a very hard time, in any circumstance. I don’t know if this ask is in relevance to aim & ignite but no matter the parameters of how he got saddled with a child, it would be a hard road for Snape to navigate.

I think he’d be so terrified of ending up like Tobias that he’d do what his mother did and keep said child at arm’s length. In regard to Ariel, Snape is so fucked up by his own guilt and demons that he’s absolutely terrified of somehow ruining her.

That being said - when you peel back all the baggage and are left with Just Snape, I think he’d actually be okay. He would probably give new meaning to the meaning of “helicopter parent” and have incredibly high standards for their child, but he would absolutely be the first parent to flex and be like “my kid? yeah, they’re fucking awesome and are infinitely better than yours.” but would never say this to his actual child.

I do think that despite the fact that Snape hates children, he would have a lot of patience for a young child - that patience would probably wane as they got older but he would always make himself readily available if they needed him for help. probably not the most emotionally available parent but he would cut a bitch if anyone did anything to said child.

And - we love Snape - but he is incredibly emotionally immature. I see him having a hard time with the teen years and keeping a level head, not taking the attitude personally.

I think it all really stems from where the kid came from, too. I think if Snape found out Ariel was his at a young age, he would have probably actually taken more of a vested interest in her and tried to do something rather than the absolutely unhinged behavior we see at the start of the story.

The girl who looked beyond the stars by L.B. Anne

Opinions:

A very mysterious book which can make you feel uneasy if you read it at night for too long lol. It’s about a girl named Sheena and her friends, Chana, Teddy and Ariel. Some kids from Michigan. Sheena ends up seeing things, and begins speaking to an old man called Mr. Tobias who helps her figure out who she is as a “gleamer”.

The story continues in the next book, which I will have to buy at some point but for now I adore the characters and it’s a great book when you’re feeling young and wanting to adventure with Sheena. It also touches on some topics such as anxiety attacks and stressful situations. As well as an almost kidnapping type scene, when a guy was chasing them in their car. Not many things which I can say are bad about this book.

Overall great reading experience, definitely about an 7/10, due to not reading the second book yet and it can be a bit uneven in some chapters.

She indicated in her Rolling Stone feature that the Elton John inspired ballad was her favorite on 25. The piano used on the recording belonged to iconic minimalist composer Philip Glass. The piano is in Jesso’s grandmother’s house. “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was Aerosmith’s first number one song. It was featured in the movie Armageddon, which starred Steven Tyler’s daughter, Liv Tyler. U2 was originally asked to perform this song for the movie—the idea for Aerosmith performing it only came after Liv was cast. Aerosmith’s guitarist Joe Perry explained to Classic Rock magazine in 2002: “At the time, we just didn’t have the time to settle down and do it. We were out on the road, so they brought us in to see the movie and said ‘here’s the song, this is where it fits into the movie, you can do it if you want.’ So we were in the studio within the next three days cutting it. My question is about elfen ears, in particular of course MC's. You mentioned them being pointy/longer in the game iirc.

But what is the general form of elfen ears in your game? The "normal human ones but pointy" or a different kind? I tried doodling all the options I had in mind but it was on phone and looked super shitty, so I will show you images from Arknights (best game fight me):

There's the long ones upturned like this (sorry for the big picture, I tried editing it but it didn't work lol)--but they're not close to the head like human ears, more sideways like the downturned ones lol

our mysterious guy appears again! after the dimethyl sulfoxide heist and telling akande to fuck off via space zoom, tobias suddenly remembers that he forgot to send the message clarke asked him to send. he goes back (alone) and makes his way to prosperity plaza, when suddenly someone pulls him into a building. this guy again, snarky as always. he tells toby that he's very brave to show his face in byzantium again. "how so?" toby asks. the mysterious guy shows him a wanted poster with toby's face on it. at least printers work fine and quickly in byzantium!

horizon au! simply bc i started playing forbidden west again. i think toby would be a quen diviner. who appears in a wrong place at the wrong time. also he's probably part of that group that want to free the quen from the tyranny etc etc

i love the view in the beginning of the game once u get ttd. i think he stopped for a moment to look and think, where the fuck am i. might add a ttd-looking effect if i ever finish this <3

So, I’m guessing in your canon the Dursley’s haven’t physically harmed Ariel, just neglect and emotional abuse… but how would it go if there was physical harm?

I haven't really touched on it because Ariel doesn't like to think about it (or rather, she hasn't processed it or come to terms with it because Snape being her Dad kind of took precedent in her mind) but I'm sure Petunia slapped her around here and there - that sounds like I'm making light of it and I'm now, I was slapped around as a kid (meaning if I said something cheeky or defiant I'd get a whack) and it was humiliating. My parents used it as "corporeal punishment" but it was so degrading and humiliating and uh - it fucking hurt? I kind of view Petunia doing the same here. I don't think Vernon would ever lay a hand on Ariel, tbh. Ariel makes Petunia fucking crazy because she looks like Lily and has magic and it's driving her crazy that her "perfect sister" made this "perfect child that's the ghost of her dead sister what the FUCK" and it drives her batty. I'm sure one wrong word or something that reminded her of Lily made Petunia snap.

Snape probably suspects but everyone knows he doesn't need any more reason to fucking annihilate the Dursley's. If it ever came out Snape would probably be like, "your 17th birthday present is going to be watching me rIP OUT PETUNIA'S SPINE" while Dumbledore is like "okay yes fine just wait until she's 17 PLEASE."

actually, it kinda works because in this AU, Snape's initiation into the Death Eater's was killing Tobias. I think I've mentioned it? But yeah, there's some Snape Lore for you.
