Regen
Da, wo alle anderen nicht sind: bei meiner Schwester draußen. Der Hund, der noch nicht ganz Vertrauen gefasst hat, die gluckernde ätherische Duftlampe, die dem Zimmer den Geruch von Sauna verleiht. Meine Schwester zieht sich das Dirndl an und macht sich die Haare. Als sie weg ist, mache ich Jazz an und Kerzen und sehe nur dem Regen zu, der draußen unablässig fällt.
Später trage ich den schweren Hund die steile Wendeltreppe hinunter, wir gehen Richtung Wald, doch der Hund will nicht mit mir gehen, er traut der Sache nicht. Sein Blick ist unmissverständlich: Wer ist die Frau und warum soll ich mit ihr in meinen Wald? Ein bisschen bewegen muss man sich, sage ich ihm und werfe ihm Stöcke und Kastanien, und widerwillig macht er mit, bleibt aber doch kurz danach wieder stehen. Schnuppert alibimäßig an einem Strauch, will Zeit schinden, überlegen, wie er wieder aus der Sache herauskommt. Dann fängt es wieder heftiger an zu regnen und ich gebe nach und renne das kurze Stück, das wir geschafft haben wieder zurück. Oben putze ich ihn mit dem Handtuch ab und gebe ihm Snacks. Immer wieder beschnuppert er meinen Koffer, folgt mir ins Bad, beäugt mich. Auf dem Sofa weint er ein bisschen, ich streichle ihn, lasse ihn meine Hand in den Mund nehmen, die er nur zart beißt, und dann weint er schon nicht mehr, sondern räkelt sich.
Meine Schwester ist jetzt im Armbrustschützenzelt, wo es lärmt und nach Bier und gebratenen Hähnchen und Atem und nassen Wolljacken riecht, und das Licht ist dort warm und gelb und etwas Monumentales und unvergleichlich Festliches liegt in der Luft, das ich immer an der Wiesn mochte, genau wie ich die Trachten auf der Wiesn mag, obwohl ich vieles an der Wiesn gleichzeitig so wenig leiden kann, dass es Jahre gab, in denen ich extra weggefahren bin, um nichts davon ertragen zu müssen.
Der Hund atmet laut zu meinen Füßen, jetzt schläft er und träumt, er träumt, dass er läuft. Und später mache ich mir ein Bier aus dem Kühlschrank auf und nehme eine Badewanne und denke nochmal ausgiebig an die Wiesn und wie schön es ist, mich nicht hindurch drängen zu müssen, nichts Ekelhaftes zu sehen, aber davon zu träumen, was ich daran mag, von diesem bestimmten Gefühl zu träumen, das es nur auf der Wiesn gibt und nirgends sonst. Neulich habe ich mir von meiner anderen, kleinsten Schwester ihre Dirndl vorführen lassen und fand sie alle wunderschön. Ich selbst habe keins, aber ich hätte gern eines Tages eins, ich weiß nicht, was die Leute gegen Trachten haben, so lange es echte, hochwertige und gut sitzende Trachten sind und nicht der Ramsch vom Hauptbahnhof und irgendwelchen Ni Hao-Märkten auf dem Weg zum Festgelände. Mir gefallen die herausgeputzten Menschen, ich mag die Mühe und das Festliche daran, ich mag die Schnitte, ich mag die Farben und ich mag die Leidenschaft und am besten finde ich, dass wirklich jeder mitmachen darf und sofort gut darin aussieht, viel besser als sonst.
Meine Schwester hat mir ein Badesalz zusammen mit Chips und Schokolade hingelegt, so, wie man das bei einem guten Baby- bzw. Hundesitter tut. Einmal, 2002 habe ich auf das Baby unserer Nachbarn aufgepasst und dann ist es mir von der Wickelkommode gefallen und ich habe es niemandem erzählt. Jahrelang habe ich danach gefürchtet, es könne eines Tages eine Behinderung ans Licht kommen, eine Schuld, mit der ich für immer würde leben müssen.

Unfortunately, because of Covid Oktoberfest in Munich is once again canceled. They just announced that barring any national regulations they intend to have the festival again in 2022 probably only for those that are vaccinated and also who have a negative test.
So what about 2021? Well, the following list of bars, breweries, and restaurants have banded together to offer special Oktoberfest treats during the traditional Oktoberfest period.
In a city whose name is practically synonymous with beer, there will be plenty of choices of great places to go to. You'll never run out of options in Munich no matter what your taste may be. This guide will hopefully show you some places that you may not have been aware of and that can be enjoyed during Oktoberfest or at any time of year.
Andechser am Dom
Over the past 20 years, the Krätz family has offered Bavarian coziness in Andechser with a view of the Frauenkirche's sundial. As part of the charm of Andechs Monastery, you can view ceiling paintings painted by Rainer Maria Latzke and Gothic wall paneling.
It is one of the few places that you can find Doppelbock, a strong-malty brew year round plus the food is excellent. I have been a frequent visitor to this place (and in its previous location-as well as Kloster Andechs for over 20 years. It is at the top of the list because it is one of my favorites.

At the Augustiner am Dom, you can drink fresh beer from a wooden barrel. Augustiner Klosterwirt

Augustiner Stammhaus
In the lively pedestrian zone between Marienplatz and Stachus is the last original Munich brewery restaurant. All sausage specialties come from the in-house butcher's shop. Landlord Thomas Vollmer, who runs the Augustiner tent at the Oktoberfest, suggests the Bierkutscher goulash, braised in Edelstoff beer and I concur.

Ayinger am Platzl
Across the street from the Hofbrauhaus. From the Aying family brewery, the inn serves tasty beer on the historic Platzl. Seven different types are drawn fresh from the barrel every day at Peter Inselkammer, the host of the Armbrustschützenzelt. This was once one of my favorite spots but has dropped off not because of the food or beer but because they removed the horseradish soup from the menu. It is still very good and I prefer the food over what is across the street at the Hofbrauhaus. They also tap a fresh wooden cask every day around 4:30 or 5:00.

In the Ayinger in, der Au, owned by the Inselkammer family from the Armbrustschützenzelt, hops are a real way of life. During your visit you sit in a brewery cellar and listen to the beer flowing from chilled wooden barrels, you'll see typical brewery materials such as copper, wood, and loden, which are tastefully and carefully built. This pub is modern and traditional at the same time.

Clearly, this place is all about the sausage. Legendary Nuremberg sausages are prepared over an open beechwood fire. It is sometimes possible to hear hearty folk music. If you sit at a table with a cloth cover you get table service, without the cloth it is self-service.

Haxnbauer in the Scholastikahaus
Located in Munich's center, the old city bar is part of a historical building that dates back to the 14th century: the Scholastikahaus. The best sellers here are, of course, the delicious grilled sausages. Using an in-house recipe, they are prepared daily and grilled over an open beechwood fire. Warum die Fraktur auf deutschen Wertpapieren verschwand
Wenn Sie als Sammler Historischer Wertpapiere von Zeit zu Zeit durchs Netz gekurvt und vielleicht bei Ebay hängen geblieben sind, dann haben Sie sicher – so wie ich auch – schon “Blaue Wunder“ erlebt. Da wird gern einmal eine Anleihe vom Volksstaat Hessen angeboten, oder auch ein Apotheken-Pfandbrief. Das größte, was mir in dieser Art untergekommen ist, war der Darlehns-Kaffeeschein.
Und warum das alles, fragt man sich? Ganz einfach: Weil es auf alten Papieren eine Schrift gibt, die schon lange untergegangen ist und nur noch von Liebhabern gern gelesen oder gar benutzt wird. Sie trägt als Sammelbegriff den Namen Fraktur, sie ist links auf einer alten Buchseite zu sehen, und sie ist in verschiedenen Stilformen zu finden. Ganz allgemein nennt man diese Art von Schrift eine “Gebrochene Schrift”. Ein “gewöhnlicher” Ebay-Anbieter aus dem 21. Jahrhundert, der vielleicht ein nur zufällig vorhandenes, oder von der Großmutter geerbtes Wertpapier zur Auktion einstellt und sich mit dieser Schrift und ihren Zeichen nie wirklich befasst hat, liest aus dieser Fraktur fast alles heraus - nur nicht das, was er gerade lesen sollte.
Gebrochene Schriften
Die Geschichte der Frakturbuchstaben beginnt im 16. Jahrhundert. Seit dieser Zeit war sie die am meisten benutzte Schrift für die gedruckte deutsche Sprache. Im 18. Jahrhundert erfuhr diese Fraktur-Schrift “Kunst in Vollendung“. Maßgeblich daran beteiligt waren die beiden Schriftschneider Breitkopf und Unger. Nimmt man als ein Beispiel für diese Kunst des Setzens und des Druckens die “Gantersche Brauerei-Gesellschaft in Freiburg” - die mir leider nur als ein verkleinerter Farb-Druck vorliegt - so sieht man, dass auf diesem Papier von 1886, abgesehen von wenigen Ausnahmen, ausschließlich in Fraktur gesetzt wurde.
Für Nationalisten - gemeint sind damit nicht Nationalsozialisten, sondern damals grundsätzlich konservativ eingestellte Nicht-Republikaner und Kaiser-Treue - galt Fraktur als eine deutsche Schrift. In den Nachbarländern Frankreich und Italien hatte sich allerdings zu dieser Zeit im Buch- und Dokumentendruck bereits eine andere Schrift durchgesetzt: die Antiqua. Sie galt nun als eine “moderne Schrift”. Spätestens ab Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts entbrannte in Deutschland auch deswegen eine zunächst ergebnislose politische Auseinandersetzung, die noch vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg sogar mehrere Male eingehend den Deutschen Reichstag beschäftigte. Diese Diskussion ist als der “Antiqua-Fraktur-Streit” in die Geschichte eingegangen.
Das Bormann-Schreiben
Die Geschichte gebrochener Schriften auf deutschen Dokumenten und Wertpapieren endet ziemlich abrupt, denn am 3. Januar 1941 ließ Hitler in einem parteiinternen Rundschreiben, das nicht zur allgemeinen Veröffentlichung bestimmt war, über den Stabsleiter seines Stellvertreters Rudolf Heß und seinen späteren Sekretär Martin Bormann verkünden:
„Die sogenannte gotische Schrift als eine deutsche Schrift anzusehen oder zu bezeichnen ist falsch. In Wirklichkeit besteht die sogenannte gotische Schrift aus Schwabacher Judenlettern. (…) Am heutigen Tage hat der Führer in einer Besprechung mit Herrn Reichsleiter Amann und Herrn Bundesdruckereibesitzer Adolf Müller entschieden, dass die Antiqua-Schrift künftig als Normalschrift zu bezeichnen sei. Nach und nach sollen sämtliche Druckerzeugnisse auf diese Normalschrift umgestellt werden. Sobald dies schulbuchmäßig möglich ist, wird in Dorfschulen und Volksschulen nur mehr die Normal-Schrift gelehrt werden. Die Verwendung der Schwabacher Judenlettern durch Behörden wird künftig unterbleiben; Ernennungsurkunden für Beamte, Straßenschilder und dergl. werden künftig nur mehr in Normalschrift gefertigt werden.“
Die Pointe bei diesem Rundschreiben zeigt die obige Abbildung: Der Briefkopf der NSDAP ist in Fraktur gesetzt.
In der Folge verschwand die Frakturschrift recht zügig auf deutschen Anleihen und Aktien. Der Partei nahestehende Druckereibetriebe wussten sich schnell umzustellen. Hatte die äußerst dekorative Anleihe der Stadt Düsseldorf vom Jahre 1926 noch Fraktur und für unsere heutige Vorstellung altmodisch geschwungene Linien in den Hauptzeilen (und eine anders gesetzte Schrift im Kleingedruckten), so hatte die ”moderne” und ähnlich - wenn auch auf eine gänzlich andere Art - dekorative Anleihe der Stadt Bonn vom 1. April 1942 bereits ausschließlich gerade Linien und somit das letztendlich von Hitler, Bormann und der Partei beschlossene Gesicht.
Und: Der Erlass vom 3. Januar 1941 hatte noch mehr zur Folge. Nämlich dass fast alle Aktien oder Industrie-Schuldverschreibungen aus der Zeit nach 1941 und bis zum Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges dem Betrachter mehr oder weniger uniform erscheinen.
Ob nach 1945 noch einmal deutsche Wertpapiere in Fraktur gedruckt wurden ist mir nicht bekannt. Vielleicht das eine oder andere Stück, man müsste danach suchen. Möglicherweise hatten Aktiengestalter in Druckerei-Betrieben wenig Lust, eine totgesagte Schrift noch einmal aufleben zu lassen.
In den Buchdruck allerdings kehrte die Fraktur auch nach 1945 noch einmal zurück. Der Autor Hermann Hesse beispielsweise bestand darauf, dass seine Werke stets in dieser Schrift gedruckt wurden, und der Deutsche Alpenverein (DAV) in München ließ seine Jahrbücher noch bis Mitte der 50er-Jahre in diesem Stil produzieren.
In unserer Zeit werden Fraktur oder andere gebrochenen Schriften nur noch in der Werbung verwendet, gelegentlich bei Straßenschildern und auf den Speisekarten rustikaler Gasthäuser. Gebrochene Schrift kann auch das vermitteln, was man gelegentlich in einem Gasthaus sucht: Gemütlichkeit. Und so empfing Festwirt Peter Inselkammer beispielsweise seine Gäste beim Münchner Oktoberfest 2008 im Armbrustschützenzelt in alter Tradition - zwar nicht mit einem Wertpapier, aber mit einer Wies´n - Speisekarte gedruckt in Fraktur.
