THAT'S RIGHT! There was no way I was getting through this challenge without my Fluke Pusit Heart Eyes coming in to play at least once!

But in all seriousness, even though The Warp Effect wasn't a BL and didn't focus on romance, ArmyJoe still should've been the main dish because they were just that good. The conversations around sex, sexuality, and being an out gay man alone made every second they were on screen a delight.

And even with their limited screen time, they still managed to have an arc that was satisfying to watch. Obviously having more time would've allowed us to see more of the development of their relationship and them as individuals (especially Joe), but rather than feeling unsatisfying because of it, it just made me want more of them.

Because look at them! The chemistry? Off the fucking charts. Of course it's off the charts, it's Fluke and Thor. The acting? Fantastic because again, it's Fluke and Thor! I love both of their characters so much. They feel so grounded and their fears and anxieties are so true to what real queer people live with every day.

If you haven't seen The Warp Effect, consider this your sign to go and do so. Immediately. This show deserves all the love in the world. It's so queer and talks about so many things that deserve to be talked about like sex, consent, communication within sex and relationships, and a whole host of other things related to gender and sexuality. Please go watch it, it's so good.

Honestly I don’t think so. I don’t see GMMtv going into nudity. The characters speak gutter vulgar Thai, sleep around and get trashed in the trailer so that’s already a lot. It would have to be behind a Paywall and also I don’t see Jojo going through the hassle lol. He doesn’t need it because he knows how to be explicit without nudity. See ARMYJOE storyline in The Warp effect. There was semen on screen. It’s on youtube. I love the way sex and erotic moments are integral to his work. His characters fuck and it always means something. (Also CASTING WISE if you can’t kiss and moan well you ain’t in his shows. AGAIN Flukethor in The Warp effect ??!! So many orgasms on screen. The others too.)

Mollie, a magnificent nonbinary deity who is 1) essential to the plot, 2) multifaceted, and 3) in love with with an acerbic lesbian named Nim, the perpetual architect of her own problems!!! There is direct discussion of fatphobia as well!

Army, an absolute gay catastrophe whose entire personality is eschewing impulse control and being generally too adorable and tenacious to stay upset with. He’s my son. The man he’s tormenting is Joe, whose entire arc will have you screaming.

See-Ew, whose fetish isn’t treated with anything but maturity and empathy and the understanding that sometimes fetishes aren’t sexual, they’re about intimacy and trust!!! I CANNOT EXPRESS MY JOY ABOUT SEX BEING RESPECTED SO PROFOUNDLY AND PORTRAYED SO CONSIDERATELY.

Liu, an absolute sweetheart who is entirely capable of standing her ground! There’s a whole sexual harassment in the workplace bit!! LOOK AT HER CONFRONT HER BOSS ABOUT BAD TOUCHING!!!

And Alex and Jean!!!! Our heroes!!!!!! Who are so absolutely wonderful and lovely!!!!!!!!!! Alex is the goodest of himbos without whom this story wouldn’t be nearly as heartwarming, and Jean is the informed, courageous ally of everyone threatened by the system they live under. She champions all of her friends and any rights she believes are being infringed. Queer ally! Pro-choice! Dispenser of tampons! SHE IS EVERYTHING TO ME.

Like holy shit, this series has absolutely everything I’ve ever wanted IN TWELVE EPISODES.

Nonbinary person, trans person, lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, sex positivity, entire segments of the show dedicated to sex education, casual sex, coparenting, abortion, vehement emphasis on open-mindedness, combating fatphobia, challenging homophobes and transphobes, CELEBRATING SEX WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY WARNING PEOPLE AGAINST THE MISUSE AND DANGERS OF IT.

That’s literally just off the top of my head. This series is so well-written, well-acted, and well-directed, I can’t put into words how much it’s the queerest thing I’ve ever seen, bar none. In any country. Ever.

And that’s why it’s my favorite series and Jojo is the director of my soul.
