I've seen a lot of misunderstandings or headcanons from people about my fictionkins that just don't align with my personal canon/"memories". I also have some cool secrets and things people don't know about my fictionkins that I do know, so I thought it would be fun to share them here!

In the future, I’d recommend actually watching the show before responding like this. Beyond the fact that no one is going to buy into your reminders that context matters when you don’t have any of that context, most of what you’ve said here isn’t a matter of debate or perspective. It’s just factually wrong.

Aziraphale’s conflict is not the same as the first season (and that’s ignoring that characters should struggle with ingrained flaws for longer than six-ish episodes, leading to similar problems as they fight to grow). He certainly isn't doing things on his own. He starts the season begging Crowley to help him with the Gabriel problem, halfway through acknowledges that Crowley is always coming up with his own plans to save him while Aziraphale comes up with his own, and ends by tearfully blurting that he “needs” him, so please, please come with me.

Azirphale is very much pushing for more, it’s just that his version of “more” doesn’t currently align with Crowley’s. He's focused on the security of being in Heaven and the presumed victory of allowing Crowley to become an angel again. Crowley is focused on a romance between them that he only just acknowledged he wants. It’s an issue of miscommunication and different, current needs. Not a lack of care or effort.

Good Omens’ ending is nothing like Supernatural’s and whoever told you it was a “beat for beat” mimic is lying. As for memes, they’re memes, not analysis. It’s just like the “Ruby is homophobic” meme. People don’t make it because they actually believe that about the character, they make it because they noticed the barest similarity between two situations and ran with it because that exaggeration is funny.

Yes, this is airing during the strike and a resurgence of bigotry... the former of which Gaiman didn’t know about while writing and the latter has been going on for years. Plus, I don’t think shows should rush through the stories they want to tell, skipping at least a whole season's worth of development on the off chance they won’t get renewed and get to write a better queer tale.

Yes, Good Omens has had a lot of discussions about queerbaiting... most of which are nonsense. The fans calling it “queerbaiting” are insisting on a very narrow definition of “queer,” one that both ignores many possible labels (like asexual/aromantic) and, at the time of Season One, didn’t even fit the celestial characters who didn’t necessarily need or want to kiss to express their love. (These are beings who have spent the whole series thoroughly disgusted by physical actions like eating. I think a physical romance suits Crowley and Aziraphale given that they've both adapted to liking such human displays, but the point is that they were originally presented as beings who showed love in other ways. Gabriel and Beelzebub only hold hands for a moment, but no one is in doubt that they're in love). If you watch the show you’ll see that in this season Crowley and Aziraphale still love each other deeply, Crowley kisses Aziraphale, Beelzebub and Gabriel fall in love and run off together, the main romantic subplot is between two women, one of whom was in an abusive relationship with another woman, their neighbor is a man with a non-binary partner celebrating their anniversary, their other neighbor is a proud sex worker, and they’re surrounded by angels and demons who continue to break gender norms. That could not possibly be any further from queerbaiting.

And no, they didn’t “break up forever.” The story isn’t done yet and the story we’ve currently got is stuffed with positive queer rep, allowing space for the main characters—the ones MEANT to carry the conflict of the show—to struggle a bit before reaching a happy ending. Queer rep is never going to truly flourish if fans get up in arms every time a couple a) takes more than two (very short) seasons to find pure bliss and b) expresses queerness in a way that doesn’t fit a singular, hetero-centric mold. Looking at a show this wonderful and snubbing it isn't going to help us get more or better rep. If there's any show on at the moment that isn't failing its queer fans, it's Good Omens.

Just finished Good Omens 2 and I'm honestly boggling at the Aziraphale hate because yes, his decision led to the angsty cliffhanger, but it makes SO much sense for his character. Not just in a "Religious brainwashing and sunk-cost fallacy" kinda way but also a "Aziraphale has no reason to believe this isn't the perfect solution" way. That scene among the nebula is crucial because it establishes that Crowley loved being an angel—reveled in his ability to create and allow his creations to grow kinda like plants—and the only problem was that someone else was calling the shots, someone who wouldn't listen to his criticism. Aziraphale has also spent 6,000+ years watching Crowley do good, all the while forced to deny the fact that he's "nice" lest embracing his original nature get him into trouble with hell. Now, Metatron comes along with an offer that fixes everything in one fell swoop. Crowley can be an angel again, be nice without censure, his ideas and criticisms will hold weight because he'll be answering to Aziraphale, and they'll be together.

It strikes me that Aziraphale isn't there when Crowley sees Gabriel's trial, ergo he likewise doesn't see the (non)acknowledgement that there's an institutional problem up in Heaven. There just happen to have been two archangels who called it quits. Same when Gabriel blurts that phrase out to Crowley. Aziraphale has always been more blind to the ways in which Heaven is "toxic" (for very understandable reasons) and this season he's continually sheltered from new evidence of its structural problems. The plot just preaches to the choir: Crowley. He likewise wouldn't see the conflict Gabriel and Beelzebub have caused as evidence of an underlying problem because that's a problem he and Crowley will no longer share. Why would they be worried about Heaven still being unable to accept partnerships between angels and demons when Crowley will no longer be a demon? And that's something he presumably wants based on Aziraphale's memories of him and the ongoing admission that he's lonely.

The way I see it, they got what they thought they wanted at the start of Season 2. Heaven and Hell are keeping an eye on them, but functionally they're left alone. Crowley can spend all the time he wants with Aziraphale and nothing comes of that except that they're both continually named traitors and the higher-ups grumble about it. If Gabriel had never shown up, things should have been perfect based on Crowley's "Let's just run away and have each other's company" standards. Better, even, considering that they get to be together on their beloved Earth, rather than being bored out in Alpha Centauri without any sushi, plants, books, or Bentleys. And yet... Crowley doesn't strike me as particularly happy. Because, you know, based on that kiss he wants to be with Aziraphale, not just literally be with him, but the point of this post is that his "Let's run away and be an 'us'" falls totally flat when he doesn't explain that specific desire to Aziraphale; the desire to change what an 'us' means. From Aziraphale's perspective they're already an 'us.' That was the entire point of "our side" in Season 1 and now they can continue to be 'us' up in Heaven. Plus, Aziraphale likely sees this as a sacrifice on his part. He will give up his bookshop, his Earthly indulgences, take on the responsibilities of leadership (which I don't think he actually wants for a variety of reasons), and spend the rest of eternity in a place where he's felt so small because he thinks that's what Crowley wants. Crowley was happy as an angel. Crowley wanted them to be together without risk of permanent discorporation. They were able to achieve that after not-Armageddon and he still wasn't happy... so surely those two things together will do the trick. Crowley never actually articulates how he wants their relationship to change and the kiss comes much too late, when he's already rejected what Aziraphale must see as a perfect, selfless solution he's secured for them. Even if Crowley wasn't always moving too fast for him, an overture of romance isn't going to go well after that.

Is this crushing and angsty and devastating as a hiatus? Damn straight, my heart it breaking. But it's a good setup. More importantly, it makes perfect sense for their characters, particularly when they're still talking past one another. Aziraphale is someone who has always moved more slowly as a matter of course, as an angel he has remained immersed in the rhetoric of Heaven, his main avenue of breaking free of that (Crowley) has a huge communication problem (to say nothing of his own denial. He only made headway with the help of Nina and Maggie, seconds before Aziraphale shows up), and Metatron (in a no doubt incredibly manipulative manner) has just offered Aziraphale a job that presumably makes him happy AND Crowley happy AND allows him to maintain the moral this-is-how-the-universe-works perspective he's had since he was literally created. Of course he's going to say yes to all that!! And sure, there are problems in Heaven, Aziraphale isn't completely blind, but he can fix them now that he's in charge. How? Well... he'll figure that out later! Kinda like how he's been making plans on the fly this entire season. That seems logical from his perspective, right? It's not like he's gotten a crash-course in the concept of the master's tools never being able to dismantle the master's house...

Paragraph of physical traits: Eshu is a being with many forms. It is said his most common form  is his weakest, his shadow selves. These forms are dark billowing figures halved by the sun and moon. His secondary form is his most favored and most common, one of innocence and a farce to give the illusion of naivety and passiveness; A childlike form in a jumper, crescent moon across his face and the adornings of a court jester. His most powerful form, is his true form, a creature of mimicry and imbalance, a creature who can tear space and time. A long and lanky beast with the mask of a jester and claws said to rip apart stars and tear space itself apart.

Attitudes: Full form Eshu is at best, unpredictable and at worst dangerous. He is a mix of all of his lower forms in personality and while he gets their best traits, he also gets their worst. Meaning he can be gregarious, playful and cute one minute and aggressive , selfish and cruel the next. He is all of them, he is Eshu’s truth. He is the most powerful, and the most unpredictable. Therefore, the most dangerous version of this god to encounter. This is the version of him who would seal the titans fate thousands of years earlier.

Beliefs: Everything is a game. Everything. Also fully choreographed musical numbers when hes on his nonsense and destroying timelines, this is very important.

Superstitions: He’s unsurprisingly pretty paranoid about Titans and Being trapped.

Pets:  Does Asrie count? Oh. Plum has a capybara too so theres that.

Education: Any education he has is a higher learning from the celestial realm. A poor student I’m sure.

Noteable skills: Somehow being able to come up with a game on a whim, and a musical number for any occasion. Also theres the whole being able to bend space and stars to his whims thing too.

Languages: Anything he set his mind to speaking—but thats assuming he’d want to. He can also speak the language of celestial beings.

Abilities: Lunar Magics, Time Magics, Control over Astral and Celestial planes. He’s incredibly and incomprehensibly powerful. He is also much more proficient in Solar magicks than anyone in the realm of mortals. A child of the stars, they are able to manipulate magic to their will and create new magic.

PSYCHOLOGY

Fears: Being sealed away? I guess thats a fear. He’s pretty fearless with most things. He will /ACT/ Like hes afraid of something if it’s a role he wants to take. Or if it benefits him. As a being theres very little to fear with the amount of power he holds at their fingertips.

Secrets: He likes to try and keep his mimic form secret to most mortals, because he likes fooling them. He enjoys being seen as naive and innocent. && They enjoy being able to use this to his advantage.

IQ. He’s rather intelligent despite how he acts sometimes. They aren’t to be underestimated.

Eating Habits: Eshu doesn’t really need to eat but if he does it, its candy, sweet and junk. Nutrition isn’t something he cares about. They will even eat inedible stuff.

Food Preferences: Again, junk. Probably planets if you let him.

Sleeping Habits: Eshu doesn’t need sleep either, though he CAN sleep. His marked has actually allowed him to experience sleep. Though he swears he hates it. Some forms sleep more than others. Final form’s sleep habits are a dice roll.

Music Preferences Anything that makes him look good and is a bop to tear timelines apart to. Each form has more specific tastes, Final form has all of them.

Leader or Follower Leader. He’s a god. Even if he ‘follows’ someone its for his own selfish reasons.

Planner or spontaneous Spontaneous. He’ll get someone else to plan for him. Though he CAN plan, when its really important.

june — cis woman, bisexual. She’s from a small town and honestly never gave her sexuality much though - she isn’t much of a sexual person to begin with, and for most of her life, just assumed she was straight. Until someone comes along to change this. Still working on her character, though... so TBA. :>

theo hayes - cis man, bisexual. Similar to June, always assumed he was straight until he meets Sagittarius. Becomes a flustered bi disaster while traveling alongside him and June. Both of them can keep their cool pretty well and so he has no idea that they’re as fucked up as he is. Blushing idiot energy

sagittarius - masculine celestial being, pansexual. I say masc-aligned because he’s not technically even human; he chooses a form that best represents him in order for the humans to understand and, like, see him. He’s a romantic and a tireless flirt. Rest assured he keeps himself busy on earth. Love, however - the sort that fucks with your stomach and keeps you up at night - has only once happened to him in the form of Scorpio. When he meets June and Theo, everything changes.

libra - non-binary celestial being, pansexual. Libra has had a few romances in their past, but tends to be too busy running the city of Aveline to bother with humans in general. They can be surprisingly flirty and, like all of the Celestials, have a sort of magnetism to them; but Libra is the sort that will make you think they’re inviting you to the bedroom, and then shut the door in your face while you’re following them in. 

aries - feminine celestial being, lesbian. Aries has very few descendants, and she likes it that way. It’s taken centuries for her to figure out exactly what she’s into, and the answer is just: women. She’s not open about her sexuality and she’s certainly not very romantic, but every few decades or so she’ll meet someone and spend an uncharacteristic amount of time on earth. 

pia - cis woman, questioning asexual aromantic. Pia’s parents are very family-oriented, and as the youngest of several siblings, she’s the last one they’re waiting on to have a family and children... but she isn’t interested. Not only in children, but in love, or in sex. She’s tried it - she isn’t into it. Her parents don’t know. They might never know, and they’ll have to be okay with it. She’s still working on it herself.
