New bonus pod hitting the feed: Austin, Ali, Art, Jack and Sylvi watched William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet (1996). We also announce Palisade is starting on March 9th with a debut twitch stream!!) and the upcoming changes to our patreon! friendsatthetable.net/bonus-episode-romeo-juliet
art martinez-tebbel going from characters like hadrian and cass to grand magnificent, neon-flannel frat boy who Will Befriend God, gave me whiplash faster than you can say “space Chad”
the not-theythemming tons of characters is really annoying and bad ofc but i feel like it's kind of weird to do the c/w Pronoun Note thing about specifically cassander? like audy and a bunch of npcs explicitly uses they/them pronouns because it's a thing they all do. the only reason to think that about cass is that most other apostolosians use they/them, which like... there is one specific guy in charge of cass's character and he's been very consistent about using one set of pronouns for him. i don't think art's brought this into question at any point
i think this opinion is informed by me having one more ride on the "art martinez-tebbel character that by all rights 'should' use they/them but has specifically decided to use he/him" train than these transcribers presumably do at the time of writing though so maybe it isn't fair to expect this of them but it still really annoys me
liberal politics podcast road to palisade is the best thing they've ever done, the cast was the exact perfect people, thank you keith j carberry & art martinez-tebbel for my life. cant believe i actually thought they weren't gonna do anything with this spin-off idea (even if it was really more like not daring to hope), ye of little faith truly
it's not so much that everyone but me is wrong about them but that art martinez tebbel specifically is wrong about them. fortunately we know and perceive the truth
I made a timed text video with audio from PARTIZAN! It’s the scene where Sovereign Immunity is like, have you ever tried practicing? and Clem is like, fuck you! but then, she’s also like, well, no, I haven’t :/ (ep link)
(PARTIZAN is the latest season of Friends at the Table, an actual play podcast! It’s really good! (introduction ep) Thank you and shout out to Transcripts At The Table!)
I think this might be the most satisfied I’ve ever been in an actual ending to a longform story in a podcast - definitely for an actual play roleplay podcast - but it hurts me
Hey, what are you doing tomorrow night? True False War failed the tech demo and we need to push to tomorrow. Instead Jack and Art will stream the demo of Balatro. Jack won’t tell Art anything about Balatro so that should be fun. This is Art writing this.
