Julius Doherty (Julius the Dressmaker) facts:

In default, Julius speaks in a very formal, concise and authoritative manner, however, it's simultaneously incoherent and often leaves one with more questions than answers.

On the topic of giving answers, for those who haven't caught on with Julius's RP blog (@juliusthedressmaker), he will often be both very blatant with what he is telling you but in a manner where one must read between the lines a bit to understand his full intentions with his words. When it comes to Julius, what may be a very serious threat could be read as just a harmless statement at face value.

Julius also isn't prone to so much outright lie as he will simply dance around things, give vague or non-answers, flip the card on whom he's speaking with, or choose to sidetrack and distract.

However, he does absolutely lie. A lot. Nothing Julius tells you should be taken as a truth. It doesn't mean it's always a lie, and sometimes, Julius isn't even aware he's lying.

As for further interactions with Julius, he tends to be very polite but will add a very condescending, "you know?" to many of his statements, making others feel stupid and/or beneath him.

Julius is extremely erratic and unpredictable. What could be a calm situation one day might turn nuclear the next day, there's no rhyme or reason.

Well, the actual reason is Julius has bipolar-1 and suffers from chronic mania. The near-constant manic state plays a huge factor in his extreme detachment from and his utter lack of grip on reality.

Julius's pocket dimension of hell and the way it functions is actually a metaphor for addiction - this will be obvious in the near future (; keep your eyes peeled for TDMFH pt2

The metaphor is very fitting for Julius, who is in fact, canonically an alcoholic and drug addict. His drug of choice is cocaine. This fact explains many of his behaviors. (I've always been very open with the information but I'm unsure how many are actually aware of it.)

Some other random fun facts:

Julius loves guns, he's an excellent shot as well (what does one expect from a man who was born in 1874? He has the skill sets that a man from his time would have.)

His favorite bands are Hollywood Undead and Falling in Reverse.

He usually wears oversized tee shirts to lounge/relax in. You won't catch him in lazy clothes often, but when you do, it's nearly always an oversized tee shirt

Julius is not an idiot, he's actually very intelligent and capable…he just needs to want to learn/do something. If he is uninterested nor does it not serve him an overall gain (in contrast to time spent learning), he simply will choose not to learn. Yes, he does lack a lot of general common knowledge, but again, this is by his own choice.

Julius is just Joker if Joker was born in 1874 /j.

He does love the film Joker 2019, however. Julius relates to Arthur Fleck in a lot of ways, and he just can recognize a good movie when he sees one.

Yes, yes he does constantly quote and make reference to the movie and yes, it absolutely drives Killian to his wits end

platforms  you’ve  used:  started off on yahoo messenger with some friends, then to gaia online, deviantart, aol, some other website a friend made centuries ago, tegaki e, then tumblr back in 2012 and i'm still here, trapped in the pit. Facebook for some time too. I used to write some on discord but i'd prefer to keep to writing here.

best  experience:  I have so many great experiences on here that it's hard to list just one. I'd have to say the friends that i have made have been thus far the best. I adore them so very much.

rp  pet  peeves  /  dealbreakers:  I have an entire list. Godmodding, being blatantly ableist towards Arthur in any capacity. People assuming he is the other versions of the joker. Getting shorted dramatically in a reply or people who send in a million asks to get starters from but never reply to any of them and expect more content. Purple prose style writing as it's inaccessible af for me as well as the reply posted as a screenshot. I could go on for eons, tbh.

fluff,  angst,  or  smut:  gimme everything bc yes.

plots  or  memes:  I do love some memes but it's nice to at least have a skeleton of an idea of what we are doing. I love for things to play out authentically between characters but it definitely helps me to have an idea of where things are going and possible ways for things to wind up. For romantic things, I prefer more in depth plotting and lots of ooc communication.

long  or  short  replies:  I thrive with longer replies as Arthur is a lot of character to put into anything shorter than two large paragraphs. Capturing his thoughts and mannerisms is crucial for my portrayal as he's a man of little words and this tends to leave me long winded. I am okay with shorter replies here and there, though nothing shorter than one paragraph please. One lines are reserved for crack and a starter line that can be expanded upon.

best  time  to  write:  I've noticed I do my best early in the morning or really late at night. It depends on my health, really.

are  you  like  your  muse(s): I am very much like Arthur to an extreme that it's almost scary. Even so, we do have our key differences, but i must admit I have never come across a character ever in my life that I relate to as much as I relate to Arthur Fleck. 𝙿𝙾𝚁𝚃𝚁𝙰𝚈𝙰𝙻: tied heavily to 2019′s Joker and, as of 2022, The Batman. Shrapnel City is Gotham, Gotham is Shrapnel City. Meaning that all the context of Joker and The Batman have taken place within Nix’s understanding and canon. Nix's own canon from Guns Akimbo is now in the past, and further details regarding her and where she's been can be found on her carrd/in-universe fansite as well as dataclaw, the in-universe Court of Owls database.

Given that she is such a niche character, you're always more than welcome to hit me with any questions in regards to plotting and/or tossing out something random. I'm aware that most people haven't seen the film, and that's totally fine!

𝚂𝙴𝚃𝚃𝙸𝙽𝙶 & 𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙿𝙿𝙸𝙽𝙶: single ship, single story-driven. exclusive to @jokethur's Arthur Fleck, who Nix is married to. They have three children together who are likely to be featured. Romance and nsfw are present with Arthur on main — as an adult writing an adult, the whole nsfw sideblog trend is just weird to me. It is all tagged, and you're welcome to block that tag.

@jokethur and I have operated as one giant blog for many years and are a real-life couple ourselves. Everything between us is shared, one's interactions are canon to the other, everything we do is interconnected.

If you follow me, you need to be aware Nix is a killer, en masse. She is criminally insane, lacks empathy, and is ultimately selfish in her end-goal. She is a drug addict, and an addict in general. All things problematic, before even going into her own origins or exactly what made her. Bear the above in mind when following. She's also just really weird and often crude. If this isn't your scene, you don't need to stick around. Respect all this this when we are roleplaying, I don't want to be measuring dicks with you.

I suffer from Irlens Syndrome which can decidedly effect both my reading comprehension and general cognitive functionality on a daily basis. As said above, i’m not fast, and I'm tired a lot, and can go a while without doing much of anything. In extension to this i do ask that you don't put any screenshotted or photoshop-style image replies on my dash. I cannot process them and it causes me a lot of problems. If this isn't something you can adhere to, then this might not be the blog for you. See this post for a more extensive explanation, this is very important for me to be able to use my dashboard.

Harley gently caresses his face. She had never met the man prior to who Joker was yet every time his voice softens as it just had she believes that it's him coming to the surface every so often. "Oh, Artie..." she thinks to herself. She tucks some green hair behind his ear, her red nails contrasting with the color. "Can we listen to some Sinatra and dance in the livin' room? That is if we don't fall asleep on the couch."
