Dear reader,
I haven't written one of these for quite a long time- but then again I only write one when I visit the city. I'd like to know who your favourite poet is. Seems highly cliché, but I'm a literature student so this actually highly interests me. Personally, I like a bit of Blake, the basic choice of Shakespeare too. Sappho, obviously. But my favourite is actually John Keats; the youngest Romantic era poet- most of his work is mediocre in comparison to others, but Keats wrote my favourite poem. "La Belle Dame Sans Merci" not only is the only poem that makes me 'feel' (due to themes of femininity, abandonment? Nature?) but also because it inspired one my favourite paintings, by one of my favourite artists- Dicksee. (Thomas Francis Dicksee  if you'd like to Google him).
Maybe I'll write an entirely seperate letter about art.
If you don't read poetry, could you try it out, then tell me your favourite!
-Sincerely, Yours

Painting: starting point
Here is the set up for my portraiture painting. Using inspiration from the artists I researched yesterday (Thomas Francis Dicksee and Stephen Mackey) I felt ready to begin the painting. My friend/peer in college below is being used for reference for the pose and shadows vs highlights. The photos I had taken with my peers wearing my tooth jewellery will also be used for reference.
So far I have only done the first wash of brown paint and I am going to start the under painting next!

Thomas Francis Dicksee (1819-1895) "Amy Robsart" Oil on canvas
The tragic story of Amy Robsart (1532-1560), the first wife of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, who died after falling down the stairs at Cumnor Place, Oxfordshire, continues to generate opinions even centuries after her death. It held particular sway over the Victorian imagination, and portraits, such as this of a beautiful young woman lost in melancholic thoughts, and history paintings of her lying at the foot of the stairwell were popular subjects at the time.

Classical Details ~ A Painting Set by Keibea
i made this for Eli and Elodie's house (and also because I absolutely adore old paintings) and decided I would post it for you guys to download too if you like! I feel like this might be a bit more of a niche subject, so I'm not expecting a lot of people to want this, but if you do, enjoy!! BTW I am not an art history major and really don't know if these are classical or not hehe
- Original mesh found here converted by you-lust, all credit goes to them and the original creator (i couldn't find who it was, if you know, let me know)!
- 10 painting swatches
- Low poly & compressed!
Let me know if you have any issues or problems!!
