So basically, you're wearing layers and layers and then tying the waist with an obi, it's like a thick belt and it goes around multiple times. So, we would learn how to walk in them (kimono). And women back in the day they don't wear underwear. They didn't have the concept of underwear. So they would just have to stand like this.
