This is a friendly reminder that using someone else's art, manipulating it (cutting it, changing colours, applying filters, etc), using it for your own piece and posting it is never right unless you have explicit permission from the artist to use their pieces in any way.

I am aware that people usually don't think twice about this, that sometimes they see art they like in the internet and just use it because it's there, but please, if you have got a chance, just ask the artist if they are okay with how you want to use it.

Our art pieces are hours, and are our babies, and we are protective of it, believe me, we are. It is our work, and this is the millionth nice post I am making just explaining that it's a matter of consent, that this art is mine because I made it and not yours because you found it.

I am not trying to be rude, I am not calling anyone out because this is a cyclical, neverending issue. As I said this is a friendly reminder, but if sometimes I lose my patience, or any artist does, please acknowledge where we come from.

How long do you typically spend on a drawing? Of the ones you've posted, which took the longest? Which was the quickest?

I'd say my drawings take an average of 3 hours total or so... but sometimes it feels a lot longer when I get interrupted by my dog --

I think that hands down the drawing took the longest was the Rise August finale drawing... there were so many characters to draw and special effects that I added, it took me like a week to finish it, I think!

Apart from that, the only other drawing that I'd consider for first place of the "who took all my time" competition would be the cover art for Hide and Seek, but that was because it was multiple drawings added together.

But honestly it depends on how rendered I want the drawing (like if I'm adding shading or light effects), if there's going to be a detailed background, how many characters there are, etc.

I'm not sure what drawing I did was the quickest... but I would assume it was something very simplistic and prolly a janky ol' sketch lol 😅

This blog is kinda retired now, because I'm not really working on the Made Not Born story anymore - I still love all the characters I created but the story was just too big and unwieldy and I never found a way to tell it that I'd have been satisfied with. I might come back and do some short fics of certain events, or some mini comics, if I get the inspiration to do so. I'm also going to be putting everyone's profiles on Toyhouse (@/jamscandraw) where I'll be writing up a TON of lore that I don't think I've ever posted anywhere else

That being said that now means that because there's no story coming out, there's no such thing as spoilers anymore! You can ask me absolutely anything about the characters or the story I had planned, and I promise I won't say "you'll have to wait and see ;)" like I usually do. No limits, ask whatever you want!

What inspired you to create the Seeker? Was it a backstory for your sky kid or something?

I had this thought one day about what it must have been like for the first sky kid to make it through Eden. I am also obsessed with the games lore. And it spiraled from there.
