Meet “Frances Ha”

Here are my thoughts/ minor spoilers:

This movie is definitely on the basis of

“if you like films for what they are, and are appreciative of the scenery” think “Aftersun” for example.

This movie however, is about how Frances is trying to figure it tf out. And honestly that’s a beautiful and necessary reminder, that you don’t have to have it figured out at least… so soon.

Near the start of the movie she’s house hoping, living for her best friends approval, partying more, and all she knows about herself is that she wants to be a dancer. Almost Every Single Interaction this phrase “ oh I’m not xyz, I’m a…” was implied.

When the “worst” happens: life kicks in. Her best friend is now many miles away and in a committed relationship , and that thing that she really wanted didn’t go as planned… (as things tend to do) It eventually figures itself out.

She eventually figured it out.

Without getting too into detail with the film because I think having your own connection with this film is very inevitable and should be a thing,

I did

With that being said YES there was a period in my life where I was the Frances who was always with their best friend and we had such similar schedules and “we were soo in sync”.

There was also a period in my life where: I picked up multiple gigs and lived different identities JUST to be search of my own .

So in short, this movie hit home.
