I don't know if you're joking or just unaware, but "in this essay I will" (with no text after it) is a common meme where you lay out something that sounds like the thesis statement for a long essay and then finish with that as if you have more to say but you just stop. If for some reason Tumblr didn't show you the text before the memetic text, it had to do with Minecraft.

That was a joke :D

The post glitched out on my dash and I decided to show it to people because I thought it was funny!

I know the meme format, (I might've used it myself, can't really pinpoint when) I already saw the post itself several times prior to that point, so I knew the context, I just didn't have much to say about it.

Okay first of all thank you for calling me captain I appreciate it :D Might use it from now on, I like how it sounds.

I'm not really the person to explain it, but I'll try my best. Take everything with a grain of salt because I'm salty and might miss some details ;]

Ah, Generikb, the guy who founded Hermitcraft because he couldn't get into Mindcrack, a popular SMP at the time. He gathered his friends and they started playing together and posting it all on YouTube. But wait, they can't play forever, right? Plus, Generik finally got a chance to get into Mindcrack, a dream come true for him!

So they end their first season and almost abandon Hermitcraft. Almost. Someone suggests an idea to make another season! Xisuma takes the idea and becomes the main admin of the SMP, starting season 2. And I'm so glad he did! If he hadn't done that, neither of us wouldn't be sitting here, waiting for Season 9 to start.

Fast forward a few years and Mindcrack has officially ended. Some of its members, like Doc and Bdubs, end up on Hermitcraft. Generik? I genuinely have no idea.

As far as I'm aware, he doesn't fit into Hermitcraft's family-friendly theme and his reputation right now is,,, yeah. He basically stole Vault Hunters modpack and streamed it as his own. It was just before the ending of Season 7 and beginning of Season 8. "What did he do in the beginning of Season 8?", you might ask. Well, he made lots of tweets about returning to Hermitcraft, and after Season 8 officially began he even went as far as streaming on the same seed as hermit's world with fake chat which showed hermits logging on/off and chatting to each other. Jevin was streaming at the same time, on the real Hermitcraft server, so people quickly caught the lie.

That sounds fucked up enough, doesn't it? But wait, remember that he was streaming everything on Twitch? With donations, subscriptions (you need to pay for those) and whatnot? Yeah, he got money for that. I think he said he'd donate them to some kind of charity? I don't remember, don't really care.

And now he does the same thing he did last time. He seems to love the idea that he's the, THE founder of Hermitcraft. And y'know what? He should make another SMP at this point. Without stealing modpacks and baiting people with already existing SMP's.

I hated Sucrose at first. I was just. Mad. Because I didn't have any anemo characters (except traveller) until AR 54. It was frustrating to switch traveller from Anemo to Geo constantly, and uh, she got the "Why didn't you show up sooner" treatment when I got her right after Sayu (who didn't even exist when I started playing). But I warmed up to her, so now she gets headpats and stuff for her questionable experiments :³

I listened to their albums once, thought that they were pretty nice, but not enough to get added to my main playlist and forgot about them. Kinda angsty. Kinda hurt/comfort but the hurting part isn't resolved and the comfort is hugs. Losing of physical sensations, panicking.

— What about others?

— Ren.

— Are they dead? Did anyone survive?!

— Ren.

— What "Ren"?! I know I'm Ren, dude, always has been! Where the heck are we, Doc! Did that portal even work?! I feel way too light and I hate it! Why are we just floating here in the total darkness as if we fell into the void?! Are we even alive?!

— Ren! Calm down!

— I'M TRYING, DOC, I'M TRYING!

Ren got shushed by a sudden hug. Doc wasn't a person of physical touch, but right now he figured this was the only solution. And he was right: Ren stopped his rambling and grabbed onto Doc's coat like his life depended on it, slightly shaking. He pet Ren's head and his fluffy ears as gently as his mechanical arm could, receiving shaky breaths and muffled silent whimpers.

Minutes passed by, and when Doc was almost sure Ren calmed down, he started to lose his sensations. He opened his eyes and tried to grab Ren again, only to come through him, as if he was a ghost.

— What the... — Doc pushed his hand on his chest, sliding right through it, fingers coming out of the spine. He jolted his arm out and turned back to Ren, who desperately tried to feel touch again, poking at his limbs and failing every time.

— Doc? — dog hybrid panicked and crumbled into a ball, unable to feel anything with his ghostly body, — I think we died when we jumped through the portal. We didn't make it out alive, we--

A choked inhale escaped Ren's lungs and he coughed, holding onto his mouth and stomach in an attempt not to cough out his lungs. He was breathing heavily as he realized that he could feel his limbs again. Grabbing onto his arms, ears, it finally occurred to him that he was in some sort of tube, as if he was a lab experiment. He looked out, fists on the glass, trying to comprehend what's going on. He saw other hermits. They, too, seemed confused and lost.

— Wait, Renbob? — Ren's voice fell deafened from his dry mouth, a slight haze filling his mind, — Renbob, can you he- — he yawned. His eyelids felt a hundred times heavier, his legs didn't seem to be able to hold him any longer, — Can you hear me, Renbob?! Why am I so... so sleepy all of a sudden...
