Hey, in regards to your EvilX iceberg, when did Keralis die and not get mourned or remembered?

O! that is in Carnevil 3, Xisuma, Pooka, Biffa, tsxcom (pooka's brother i think?), The Dreamer, Generik and Keralis are all in a group running away from the Jeffpocalypse, and Biffa and Keralis are captured.

Now, of the main 4 people are captured on screen, 3 of them are remembered by one of the survivors as the person who they have the strongest redstone bond (power of love/friendship) with and who's spirits help them fight back against Jeff, Kolumi for Pooka (his wife), Bdubs for Generik, and now Biffa for Xisuma. But Keralis is NOT. anyone's power of love fridged wife like the others. he gets revived/freed alongside all the other hermits at the end of CE3 but I think it's very funny he dies like 2 seconds after Biffa all Dramatically and he is Not remembered and his love used to power up someone like Biffa is to Xisuma9I0VDU8SYIVOSD. sad. well theres other guys

A few weeks into season 1 of Hermitcraft, GenerikB thought "we have a nice balance of redstoners and builders, I need to throw one weird little guy in there to keep it interesting" and added Joe Hills.

The precedent of this tradition combined with contemporary evidence leads me to believe that Skizzleman will be added to Hermitcraft in season 10. In this essay I will

Hi I just came across your post on Joe Hills and can you expand upon the staging a coup to make hermitcraft season 2 a thing? I know the original creator left after season 1 and is now bitter about it but I didnt know there was discord about hermitcraft continuing at the time.

I don't think 'discord' is the right way of describing the situation (as Joe and Cleo tell it). The way hermitcraft worked for season one was that it was GenerikB's server (named hermitcraft after his hermit nickname), and he made every final decision about members and seed etc.

When he left, the hermits didn't have a social structure by which to make decisions. They had potential seeds and potential members and potential start dates and no way of deciding between them which was the right one to carry into the next season.

The indecision stretched and stretched and almost swallowed up hermitcraft, because they wanted to start but couldn't agree when.

So Joe said, 'this is a coup. I am taking charge. If nobody says no to this proposed seed, this start date, and these new members, we will consider them all agreed on.'

And so nobody said no, season two started, and mumbo and cleo joined hermitcraft. Joe stepped down as interim leader and the 'if nobody says no' voting system remains.

hermit horror week day 5: season 1 or 2 or echoes

It's a nice gesture.

Joe finishes the monument, steps back, and looks at it. He removes one of the pieces required to finish it. He steps back. He looks at it.

It's a nice gesture. There's, like, blood on his hands, and every one of his scars aches, but it's a nice gesture, you know?

"It's not his fault it's havin' the opposite effect," Joe mutters to himself. He removes a piece of the monument. He puts it back. He remains standing in front of the thing GenerikB built for him, and he remains on Hermitcraft, and no new knowledge of how to leave again has come to his mind.

It's a nice gesture, it really, really is. Joe's, uh, not used to parts like this anymore. He doesn't get much a chance to show his hospitality. Talking to people, it's--new! It's new. It's fun, too, to do things like prank folks, and meet new folks, and build things for the sake of building them, and everything else. He's not mad he escaped to this Hermitcraft place, really, he's not. It's a nice place to be.

It's a really nice gesture. The man who owns this place, he knows where Joe's from. Knows the sorts of things Joe is used to doing. Went about building a monument, so Joe would have something to do. In return, Joe's thinking he's going to break into the man's impenetrable base, just to show him that it's not so impenetrable when you're used to dying, and dying, and dying, and dying, and dying, and...

So the thing is, two weeks after arriving, now, he doesn't want to admit it. Everyone's hospitality, it had been grand. Far better than he'd gotten before. There hadn't even been any arenas he was expected to kill people in for their amusement! If he ever got the chance, he'd rate them five stars. Not a death trap, no vindictive gods, no way out.

He pulls a block off the monument and puts it back. He waits for the capricious god of this world to show him the exit.

So the thing is, two weeks after arriving, he got a bit of cold feet. Not anyone's fault, really. He's just, like. Okay, he does talk to people. Cleo, Cleo he keeps in contact. Good friend of his, Cleo. Doesn't have any hard feelings about the murder. Makes sense, given that she's neck-deep in everything too. Used to the kinds of people they are. Is he making sense? They're--used to it. It's easy with her. She knows not to question how a man who likes building houses out of sand and gravel to show off how precarious they are ended up with scars. She was there. Not, like, with him, but--

Anyway. The problem is that the people here are... nice. Nicer than he knows how to deal with.

The problem is that he can't leave.

He's tried to figure it out. He thinks, like, the server's a Chinese finger trap, maybe? The more you try to get out, the more stuck you get. That doesn't make sense, because he can see the writing on the wall, and he's not the only one who wants to try to leave. He thinks the one who made this place is leaving here soon, too.

That's why he's back here, because--like, at the time, it had probably been good he didn't leave. If he'd left, he'd never have jumped on that box, or made the friends he's made, or built a piston door, or even gotten anywhere close to reaching Hypno's house with his railway. (One of these days, he'll make it.) He wouldn't have proven to himself, hey, he can build, too, and make jokes, and be the odd one out. He's good with those things. So he'd thought that someone was looking out for him, not letting him leave, and hey, nothing had ever managed to trap Joe forever.

He's way too good at dying for anything to trap him forever. He's, like, got a song about it and everything? Man, and they'd laughed when he'd sung it to them, too, but then again, that's just that he's bad at singing, and GenerikB is leaving.

He removes a piece from the monument. He puts it back. He circles the structure.

It's a nice gesture. It was a nice gesture when he joined, and it's a nice gesture now. Little taste of the constant death labyrinth he hailed from, you know? Little taste of--here, here's that goal you're used to. It's cute. It's cute.

So, like, he's completed the monument, though. He's done it.

And he's still--here. He can't leave.

And he's, uh. Not really certain what happens to a world, when its god abandons it, but by god, or maybe Vechs, or certainly GenerikB, that god is leaving it.

And Joe--

The thing is, this time when he gets cold feet, it's not just going to be him trapped.

And he'll find his way out. He always does.

It's just--

Two weeks after joining, he'd gotten cold feet. Cleo, she understands. She's used to what happens when people are cruel. People who are used to that--she'd probably laugh if he told her he'd gone and gotten trapped because he got attached to things, like any stray creeper couldn't take them.

But here he is. And here they are.

The monument doesn't let him out, and its god is abandoning them all.

He doesn't know how to get anyone out but himself.

He pulls a block. He replaces it.

He doesn't know where to start looking, except that it will be very painful, because it always is, and he will not stop until it's done, because he never does.

Filling Biffa's Bowl (Season 1)

Biffa was in the process of draining a large circle of ocean, an especially difficult feat in the days before sponges. Joe, Hypno, and GenerikB teamed up to create a layer of water source blocks at the surface, seemingly undoing all of Biffa's progress. Notably, Joe had not yet even met Biffa at the time of the prank, as this was one of his first acts as a member of Hermitcraft.

Okay, so Mumbo's HC1 video led me down a Joe Hills rabbit hole and now I'm watching his first season. And then I thought about how (IIRC) Joe did webcomics before joining Hermitcraft and that's how GenerikB noticed him, but surely he must have played Minecraft before Hermitcraft? Like, just because I like Neil Gaiman's writing doesn't mean I invite him to my Minecraft server, first I check if he's uploaded any lets plays to his YouTube channel, right?

So I scrolled down for about eighteen minutes and found the first Joe Hills video. And it's Super Hostile... Part 2! And it's not like Super Hostile Part 1 was lost in time, it's right there to the left of Super Hostile 2, uplaoded on the same day, but apparently slightly later. Somehow, this is once again the most Joe Hills thing and he even did it before he could've had any idea that he'd still be doing that twelve years later.

obsidian coffin prank - bdubs falsely claims etho pranked him, so etho builds bdubs a numbers puzzle. of death.

onion pranked - team boobee gifts etho one of his favorite foods.

fun house prank and von sway - a new architectural design style is born.

death games - in order to avenge pause, etho hunts his friends for sport but says if they kill each other, they can increase the amount of times etho will kill the other person. sometimes fails, but also this absolutely spectacular kill on nebris using respawn mechanics to surprise is so good. see also hostility rises.

death games 2.0 - now server-wide opt-in event in the following season. bdubs (and guude) try to kill etho. civil war and an arkas kill.

mass pvp - arena fight night, LENS BATTLE. spawn UHCs, arkasdam pvp,

horsegirl activities - the horse drive-thru, beyonc? and taylor swift, a horse timer, doing wheelies,

season 1

nether project - taking one for the team, etho begins his first nether hub construction in classic nether brick and sandstone. later expanded with help from the b-team.

nice prank - please enjoy this kevin mcleod speed cleaning montage. if you can.

bdoubleo - just before the trial, etho and bdubs discuss their upcoming court case while making trees, 3D cubes, and a big hole at spawn. tune in next to the etho vs the b-team trial to find out why he's got chocolate on his knees.

the underside - etho finds out he's got a roommate and continues his quest for an anvil kill.

the pet shop - etho prepares to open his extremely legitimate, fully-licensed, no illegal activity pet shop and feels just so bad for the poor b-team. also, this is the first episode hoppers existed, which has nothing to do with his new quartz generator.

king of the boat - a bunch of people come together to fix bdubs' flammable arena. shenanigans ensue.

seinfeld fans - etho shows beef his new trivia game.
