Kieran cocked his head to the side slightly, pouring two glasses of bourbon while he listened to Alec. There isn't much in either glass. He only glanced back at him at first. Putting the decanter where it had been. For a man who carried loaded words, Alec seemed content enough to sit with them. It was curious to Kieran what he'd opened up to him about. That he would open up to him at all in the first place. They'd grown closer, yes, through time spent like this-- in a private room in The Atlas, recon, events, and hotel room hookups. Enough, in his mind, to warrant revelation from most others, though their circumstances differ.

"One bad day away from becoming…?" He repeated, his voice trailed off but his eyes fixed on him as he moved toward him, drinks in hand. One eyebrow, curving up, indicative of his question. "I've never asked you what you do, Alec." 'Spell it out for me.' He leaned against the back of Alec's seat, holding the drink out over his shoulder. He didn't have to take it but something told Kieran he might.

He knew, to a certain extent, what Alec did. The same way Alec knew about him, beyond his life as a restauranteur. Each covered their tracks well, but shadows spoke if you knew how to ask. There was an understanding there. A twisted kind of trust.

"And you tell me because... you're looking for encouragement?" He ran his fingers across his shoulder as he walked by, something sly playing on his lips. Kieran finally settled in the seat across from him.

The only ones of Harry waking up / waking someone up I could find were these, but they're all pretty widely known, I think.

This part is from a longer docu (from Part 5 of Year In The Making from 2011) about their first year together as a band, where they return to Robin's bungalow to again spend time together there (if you haven't yet, do yourself a favour and watch the entire 8 minute video, it's so, so lovely 💖 and it also made me tear up a little)

My sister had a baby and I took it over after she passed away and the baby lost all its legs and arms and now its just a stump but I take care of it with my wife and... and its growing and its fairly happy... and its difficult because I'm working a second shift at the factory to put food on the table but all the love that I see in that little guy's face it makes it worth it in the end. Hello Malachite.

I have come to the realization that I am getting nowhere with the academy. I get the feeling that you are beginning to realize this too. I know what you really wanted in the restricted section of the archives, and as much as I hate to admit it, I've been doing the very same thing. I have access to all of the archives, as the head manager. Well... ex head manager.

You see, I have left the archives in the control of my second in command, and am currently leaving the academy entirely. There are more pressing matters going on on the island than my attendance. It's for that exact reason that I come to you. I fear you are the only one who may be able to assist me, given most teachers don't take kindly to rulebreaking such as I have been doing, taking notes on so many of the restricted books. I have a feeling you've been taking your own notes outside of those that can be found in the archives. I was wondering if we could exchange information. I am currently residing in the bottom floor of the dark tower, which I have cleared of monsters. You are free to come around anytime.

Malachite paused, rereading the letter again. Someone else was looking for the information he was, and they needed his help. Mal gathered his notes together, pulling on his academy jacket before leaving his house. He smiled slightly, the scars on his face move with the smirk, restricting it.

The walk wasn’t far, it was just annoying with a cane. The island wasn’t exactly the most accessible place, but what could she do. Mal’s heeled boots tapped against the cobbles, her cane doing the same. Rain battered down on her dark green coat for dramatic effect, though her smirk didn’t falter. She just smiled. Someone to share research with.

Once at the tower, Malachite knocked on the door, brushing themself off and making themselves look a little more presentable. Their hair was plastered to their face, irritating their old injuries and just them in general. They didn’t look presentable when soaked with rain. Her glasses glistened, and their coat was damp, but they stood under the little covering by the door, smiling.

Someone who had been outcasted.. Her notes would be useful. This was someone who had been ignored by the academy for too long. Why was this information being hidden anyway? It was just old codes and files, some about keystones, some about some student in a duel. He’d taken a few documents on The Puppet Master for.. leverage. Well. Cameron would be help in the search for information.

How would LCSYS be different if it was "Order of Attack"?

For starters, the only things of OoA that would have happened are the voice dramas.

Hmm, I wonder what caused the admins to decide the attacks would turn out that way.

A lot would remain the same, aside from some of the voice drama angst happening differently (both on their end and Es'). I think the biggest difference would be that Shidou and Amane would be forced to interact a lot more -- while their Milgram appearances would be waay more hostile than originally planned, their behind-the-scenes relationship would improve a lot. Shidou spends a lot of time telling her about the side effects of the injuries so she can properly act them out, as well as check in that she's taking off the eyepatch often enough to not ruin her eyesight, none of which are him overstepping on her beliefs. While she still judges him for his profession, she doesn't feel personally attacked by him and can have many civil conversations.

(Meanwhile, Fuuta would have a much harder time acting out these injuries than the canon ones 😅 It takes absolutely all of his willpower not to let his temper get the better of him and jump out of the wheelchair to yell at Es)

Kotoko knocked on Amane’s door. There was no answer at first, but she knew the girl was in there. She banged harder. 

Amane opened it, lifting her chin to face the woman head-on. Kotoko stared down at her.

“Momose Amane.”

Then, she bent down. Kotoko took her hands into her own. “Are you sure about this?” 

She hadn’t believed it, when she first read the changes to the next trial scripts. Confronting Jackalope hadn’t done much for her; he insisted it had all been Amane’s idea to begin with. He went along with it because he thought the proposed injury swap would be exciting, and grim, and definitely get a big reaction.

Kotoko still had her suspicions until it was finally confirmed, “yes, this is my decision. I stand by it.”

“I don’t want to make you relive something so painful.”

“I do not know what you mean.” 

The way her eyes flicked away revealed that she did indeed know.

“You’ll be more isolated from the others during the trial.”

“Only when the Warden is around.”

Kotoko squeezed her hands. Maybe another route would work. “Injuries like that are impossible to fake nonstop – you’ll need to use medical aid to make it convincing. Will you be alright with that, even if it’s an act?”

“It’s perfect. I will show the warden it is violating to force me into another’s beliefs, without sinning at all myself.”

Kotoko opened her mouth, but Amane interrupted. “Are you afraid it will paint you too villainous?” She wasn’t being harsh – she seemed genuinely worried. 

“I mean, they think I’m here for murder. There’s not much more villainous I can be.” 

It was a truth to hide a truth. Kotoko knew this change would be nothing but a death sentence for her. Yet she’d spent all day planning out her video with the team, shakily writing out notes about a short temper and uncontrollable anger. What if Amane was right? In the heat of the moment, what lengths would she go to in the name of justice?

So the least she could do in return was go to this length.

“I need to make sure you are wholly alright with this. If so, I vow to play the part perfectly for you.” She studied Amane’s expression, but it was difficult to get a read in the dim bedroom. Only the little desk lamp was on, illuminating textbooks and art projects. “Just tell me why.”

“The others asked me about it, too,” Amane said. “They thought it was a dark topic to explore, but I was able to convince them that it would highlight the best in all of us: It would show what a skilled caregiver Mahiru is, when given the opportunity. It would reveal that Fuuta’s passion, his heart, is truly his strength. It would highlight my own virtues and weaknesses, given my beliefs. It would even show your dedication to your ideals, even if not in a fully pleasant light.”

“That makes sense…” She could tell there was more Amane wasn’t saying. She gave her a look.

Amane’s eyes flicked around the room.

Kotoko nodded to encourage her. 

“Well… I also thought…” She swallowed. “The warden saw my punishments in my video, but deemed it righteous when they named me unforgiven. I just…”

“You wanted to see if they saw the things you went through – the things you really went through – would they still think that was okay?”

Amane let her head drop, using the heel of her hand to smear tears that had suddenly spilled from her eyes. “It’s selfish,” she blurted. “I know it’s so, so selfish.”

Kotoko made a sound of surprise. 

“I’ll take it back,” she cried. “I’ll tell Jackalope to undo it. It was wrong of me. I shouldn’t make you suffer for my selfish wishes. I’m sorry.”

Kotoko knew the girl wasn’t the hugging type, but she opened her arms just in case. “Amane…”

After a moment of deliberation, she shocked her by accepting the embrace. 

“You listen to me.” Kotoko held her tight. She kept her voice level. “You’re not going to take anything back. Do you hear me? That is not selfish at all. That is something very reasonable to hope for. If the warden is going to be unjust, then it is our job to teach them, right?”

Amane made a noncommittal sound in reply.

“It is. That’s why you came here – I remember when you told us that. That’s what we’re going to do. You and I both. If anyone dares tell you this is selfish, send them right to me. I’ve got you, okay?”

It was an odd declaration given what she was agreeing to, but everything about this experiment had challenged what was normal.

“I’ve got your back.”

I saw you answered my ask, and I totally will reblog it (planning a little something), but I just want to ask, I’ve been listening to the Creaks OST, and I love it! Do you have any more video game OST recommendations?

RARRRGHHGGHHG IM SO HAPPY TO HEAR YOURE LOVIN THE CREAKS OST!!!!! Seriously I think it's one of my top favorite OSTs to listen to whenever I need some music while I draw/write, or if I need inspiration for a very specific tone. It's just oogoughughugh soooo phenomenal. As for other recommendations!! I'll suggest some that immediately popped into my head when I first read this question! Night In The Woods - This game has a wonderful soundtrack, it's also another game where I'll put on the complete OST as background sound. But my two favorite songs out of them all have to be: Astral Alley & Astral Coal , specifically these two versions [which I've provided through the links!] where the creator mixed and matched different instrument tracks to see how they'd sound & what emotions they'd evoke. Honestly I think they accomplished their mission perfectly, I swear this is the only version of these songs I listen to and there's certain segments throughout them that just go insanely hard.

Super Paper Mario - Another fantastic game with an equally fantastic soundtrack. Honestly I need to give it another listen cause it's been a little while, but some of my favorites that came into my mind instantly were: The Ultimate Show, The Woah Zone [especially 1:30 and beyond, something about that repetitive 'falling' sound is just so perfect to me], and Memory [a very very beautiful mashup of multiple songs throughout the game]. THIS VERY SPECIFIC SONIC SONG --> Solaris Phase 2 ITS LITERALLY SO PERFECT FOR IMAGINING AN INTENSE FAST FIGHT SCENE BETWEEN TWO OR MORE CHARACTERSSSS RAAARRGHHGH NIGHTS JOURNEY OF DREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! PROBABLY ONE OF MY OTHER FAVORITE OST TO LISTEN TOOOOOOOOOO ESPECIALLY THE BOSS MUSIC Some of my personal favorites: Drifting Donbalon [something about those voices that come n go throughout this song is just sooooooo fantastic], Queen Bella's Ball [SUCH A BANGER SUCH A BANGER I could listen to this one for eons], and NiGHTS and Reala [Specifically from 1:25 to the very end, it brings such an ecstatic and freeing feeling it's just rhaogughurhgsdjgjfddg melts its so awesome]

For the actors AU, how famous are the siblings? Is it like recognized whenever they go out or do the different siblings have different levels of public recognition?

This is a really good question !

In terms of "fame" they're all known in a way. They're nepo babies so that's pretty much a given. But since they all have different preferences in their careers, some are more famous than others.

Dream and Desire I would say are the most famous siblings. Dream more so than Desire (which irritates them to NO end).

Death and Delirium come close but they're more well known in the theater scene. Delirium is stuck in a lot of people's minds as that child from that one very popular sitcom back in the day that she tries desperately to erase from memory.

Destiny is the eldest and most WELL KNOWN but he's not as clamored over or bothered by fans as the others. He's built a solid career as a respected producer/director/writer.

Despair is a voice actor and quit acting in front of the camera in her early twenties. People recognize her voice more than her face.

Destruction is recognizable but people only end up putting two and two together when he says smth about his family. He's the least likely to be followed around by paparazzi and shit.
