𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐏𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐍 — a House of the Dragon fic.

The Bounty was a place of promise and healing, and as Viserys Targaryen’s health began to well and truly decline, his Queen decided that a visit to the seat of House Barren might prove beneficial to her husband. Rather than travel all that way for no more than a dip in a pool, it was decided that they would host a tourney there, as a celebration of both their twentieth wedding anniversary and the twentieth nameday of their son, Aegon. There, they were introduced to the Lord and Lady Barren, as well as their four children — the cautious Ser Quintyn, the rebellious Alyse, the calculating Cyrus, and touchy Trysta — unaware that one of them would be following them to King’s Landing at the tourney’s end. Out of them all, the one most unaware of Alyse Barren’s pending impact upon their family was Aegon himself.

DREAMER AEGON AU

The night after the Driftmark brawl, Aegon starts having dragon dreams warning of the Dance. Confused by the disturbing images he keeps seeing, Aegon decides the only way to avoid the dance is to one up Rhaenyra by ruining the reputations of himself and his younger siblings. Absolute chaos ensues.

First up is Aegon and the wildly improper wife he eloped with when he was 19, Ynys Sand!

Next up is Aegon’s partner in crime, fellow Dreamer and Schemer, but NOT his wife, Helaena Targaryen and her greenseer husband Skandar of Stane!

Rounding out the terrible marriage matches, it’s baby of the family Daeron, his much smarter wife Bethany Flowers, and Daeron’s boyfriend totally platonic friend Addam of Hull!

And of course, sweet Jacaerys, just happy to be invited (aka sent by Rhaenyra to spy on her siblings’ weird marriages) and Aemond who is desperately begging them to disinvite him from this nonsense.

Dreamer! Aegon AU, where the ages are made up and the plot doesn’t matter because Aegon just had another nightmare and he’s coping with alcohol and another hare brained scheme to tank someone’s reputation and piss off his grandsire.

I aged up Jace, Daeron, and Addam simply because I wanted them to get in on the shenanigans sooner!! I also made Gaemon a lil older but he’s not relevant, he’s just here to make me happy and also so Ynys can have an aggressive discussion about self control with her husband.

Aegon lets Ynys pick every one of their children’s names.

The brown and blue dragon arms on Helaena & Skandar’s cards are their cadet house, House Stane of Dreamer’s Cove, eventually built on the coastline of Skagos as a trading hub.

Skandar is second born, has a Wildling for a mother, is as loopy as Helaena, but has a deep respect for Dreamfyre that wins her brothers’ over. He loves to train with Ynys/watch Ynys beat people up.

Aegon still uses a personal coat of arms and at Ynys’ suggestion, Summerhall is built for them in the Marches.

Bethany’s mother is the precocious younger sister of a magister of Myr, who had a brief love affair with Otto’s older brother, only to figure out she was with child when she got back on the boat to Myr. Since her mother remarried, Bethany has moved to live in Oldtown, where she longs to study at the Citadel.

House Florontys - the pink sigil with the R’hollor symbol - are old Myrish nobility and dedicated followers of the Lord of Light, famous for their production of ornate crossbows and fine arrows.

Addam mostly captains the Blue Queen (named for Tessarion) and the Whitewood Rush (named for the Weirwood trees) but they are part of his mother’s small fleet. Brave Alyn is one he and Marilda both sail, while Alyn prefers Bold Marilda, and of course Marilda has Mouse, Steadfast Addam, and Mermaid’s Kiss.

Addam and Daeron have been lovers for a long time but Addam finds Daeron’s general “i gotta chuck this responsibility at anyone else” attitude frustrating.

Addam and Benjicot are the Dunk and Egg of Renly and Loras’.

Aemond wants nothing to do with this shit. He has snitched on Alicent, Otto, Aegon, Helaena, Daeron, AND Skandar because he has no loyalty and thinks they’re all acting insane. He does eventually get his milf witch gf tho.

Jace is sent by Rhaenyra to infiltrate The Youths after a series of elopements from the Targtowers and finds himself so thrown by Ynys Sand he lets her pinch his cheek and call him adorable IN FRONT OF HIS UNCLES and he does not recover his dignity from there.

Summary: Maedalyn's father, Marthew Wyne, used to be the Master of Laws for The Small Council under Viserys I Targaryen at the beginning of his rule. Viserys and Marthew were good friends, so much so that both their daughters grew up and bonded together. But suddenly when Maedalyn was only 12 years of age her father was killed. Marthew was the only one left in the Wyne family, besides Maedalyn herself, so she truly had nowhere to go. In honor of his good friends' loyalty and memory, Viserys took it upon himself to care for Maedalyn as if she were his own. So, she lived with Rhaenyra, but others believed that Maedalyn was a waste, or should be doing something other than living in the King's castle. Maedalyn was no stranger to such topics and whispers, but Maedalyn's best friend Rhaenyra was always there to cheer her up or to just simply comfort her. As they grew older Maedalyn found herself wanting more and craving her Princess in a way that was more than friendship. But no matter how her feelings wanted more, Maedalyn would do anything for Rhaenyra and do whatever it took to ensure that her Princess would become the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Her duties lay with securing her own people's safety; she would never send them off to fight the Dragon's war.

History had been filled with tales of betrayal, and Mei Lin had studied them all. Among them was the tale of the Amethyst Empress and how she had been killed by her younger brother, the Bloodstone Emperor.

The Blood Betrayal.

She could not sit by and let happen to the woman she loved.

oops another oc :: elinor tully hightower the forsaken vow

ELINOR HIGHTOWER has sworn too many vows in her life for someone so young. She’s sworn to be faithful to her husband, sworn to obey the crown and future heir of the Iron throne, sworn to be dutiful and poised and a perfect lady at every turn.

but Elinor Hightower was once ELINOR TULLY, a precocious girl of five and ten who was all too excited to attend a tourney at her Uncle’s castle at Harrhenhall, a beauty with dreams hidden in her fiery red hair and an unfortunate resemblance to the newly late wife of Ser Otto Hightower, who was participating in said Tourney.

There was little she could do once she had been named the Queen of Love and Beauty, and not even the loud protests of Ser Otto’s daughter were enough to deter Elinor’s father nor the man himself from arranging the betrothal and the wedding soon after.

And so Elinor Tully was no more, instead Elinor Hightower remained, a poor shell of the girl she had once been and only five years older than her now stepdaughter. Barely able to experience the life that was promised to her, a life with no courtly expectations or pressure from above, but that’s all ripped from her the moment she arrives in King’s Landing.

But even in confinement, Elinor isn’t quite as defanged as her husband would have hoped. Instead she finds comfort and solace in the dragon prince himself, Daemon Targaryen, a victim of circumstance much like herself, even if those circumstances couldn’t be more different.

But the world around her changes as quickly as the leaves from the heart tree fall, and when Rhaenyra Targaryen is named heir in the wake of Prince Daemon’s exile, a series of events that Elinor never could have foreseen occurs, and somehow she is directly in the center of it all.

A delicate thing, but taller than most men outside of House Baratheon, Vhaena Targaryen’s hand was sought after by every lord with an unmarried son... and even some of those with loving wives and children aplenty. Not often did you happen upon a dragonrider with a gentle nature, and you could not find that within her, either, though outward appearances said otherwise. Those close to the princess often claimed she had a sailor’s mouth and housed a fury in her chest not unlike her twin brother. They also claimed that if she had been the first of Baelon and Alyssa’s children and born a boy, she would have made a ferocious leader. However, rather than becoming the ferocious king she seemed destined to be, Vhaena developed into an immensely protective mother and a devoted follower of her elder brother, King Viserys I.
