I totally feel that! And in relation to the “canon creators pay attn to fandom” there is SO much of that lately, sometimes in ways that make me mostly happy (good omens ship going canon) and sometimes in ways that are like, “eh, okay I guess?” Like I’m not as familiar with Dick’s history so I don’t know where this first originated, but I remember reading the jokes about his ass in the Grayson series and being like “oh, cute fanservice! I love it!” But the most recent season of Harley Quinn has leaned SO far into the jokes about his ass that I feel like the parent of a toddler. Like the writers are like, “have you heard that Nightwing has a great ass? Isn’t that SO hilarious?” And I’m like, “I guess?” And I feel like fandom is at least 90% responsible for that.

Ugh do not even get me started on the Harley Quinn show assjokes I've seen on twitter and stuff. I've muted so much damn stuff there because of that one coffin scene alone. Like, I never got into the show to begin with because of the antisemitism and stuff, this show went way south long before Nightwing was brought into it, but the particular juxtaposition of it being a Harley Quinn show when I DID unfortunately watch the Harley Quinn animated movie that had that 'dubious' consent sex scene (heavy-handed emphasis on dubious, he was TIED TO THE BED AND NEGOTIATING FOR HIS FREEDOM, WTF THAT IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO MAKING ANY 'YES' HE MIGHT HAVE UTTERED BE NON-COERCED IN NATURE).....

Ugh. LOL. Like. Can they just stop putting Dick Grayson in Harley Quinn projects for awhile, it never seems to end well, wait what was your point again I think I might have gotten off topic on account of My Ire.

Actually yeah can we call quits on "this character who I headcanon as Jewish would never do this because no Jews do this?" Some Jews dgaf. Some eat pork and barely know Hebrew. Some don't care about getting married by a rabbi.

I'm the Confusing Anon from verti's blog. And well.. I know the definition of queerbaiting, thank you. But being gay myself and far from cis, I kind of find it irritating that they teased us with this relationship and ended up using a fan's drawing to tease people, all that for nothing. I'm not even angry or anti Gotham. Not at all. As I said on verti's blog, this show gave me nice things and I know people from the show personally. Hell, I even work with one of them. But I'm still irritated.

Nobody is ever happy in Gotham. Ever. Not even the good people, and these are two screwed up multiple murderers who have killed dozens of people. And the actors said it would never happen.

I don’t know why people keep assuming we were ever led on when all logic says Gotham ships will always end in pain.

Edit: Like, I'd love to have them hook up and never leave each other. But I knew this would happen and that's why I didn't bother getting back into the show, because I knew I'd be unhappy when this happened. It's fine to be unhappy about it. But assjokes (not you) are trying to make it a social justice issue.
