The deep chill of Winter has the Northern Hemisphere in its icy grip. Family groups huddle around the fire for warmth and comfort, telling stories to pass the long nights. All the while, fearsome creatures of the snowy landscape rattle the ancient windows and pound on the thick door of the log cabin. Some beckon people out into the cold using the voices of loved ones, some the embodiment of hunger, and some are furry bipedal creatures, hanging out in the nearby caves.

This month’s theme is Ice Monsters. From the fearsome Yeti to the cunning Yuki Onna (snow woman), creatures of the cold span many countries and cultures. Looking for a few ideas? So last year me and @ouidasart posted a silly little four chapter fic about a very gross vampire Crowley and a very weird professor Aziraphale. And now we're back with the sequel, written once again for the @allthatslithers ASWN monthly prompts!

I'm so happy I finally get to share this with you all, and that I get to work with my bestie on yet another wonderful story <3

The facade of the bar was nothing more than bright neon and loud strobe lights as Crowley made his way through the line and inside. This was what Crowley needed, really. No job, no coworkers, no loneliness. Just the flashing lights and the bumping rhythm of the loud music rattling his eardrums. The sweat of too many bodies in a space too small, the anonymity of being somewhere that no one knew his name; it had been far too long.

He leaned against the bar in a way he hoped was alluring. It had been a while since he’d been propositioned, and he was hoping for a little fun before he left Romania. It didn’t take long, the bartender tapped him on the shoulder, passing him a ridiculous looking drink - layered in colors in a large fluted glass. Clearly expensive. The bartender pointed to the other end of the bar, a tall man looked back at him and waved almost shyly.

Everything about him said danger, which Crowley was sure was as much a facade as his own projected coolness. He was dressed in a smart black suit, long brown hair pulled back into a bun near the crown of his head. The gold rings on his fingers caught in the lights as he approached. They looked antique, as did his strange sunglasses.

“You’re not from around here, are you?” He asked in a thick accent Crowley couldn’t place.

“Does it matter?” Crowley narrowed his eyes over the rim of the expensive drink. It was tasty, a wonderful blend of good quality vodka and fruit flavors that danced on his tongue. It warmed his throat when he swallowed, despite the cold temperature. 

“I didn’t catch your name?”

“I didn’t give it.” Crowley said, sitting his drink back on the bar top. He wasn’t unfamiliar with these games. This day and age you had to be, or you’d spend all your nights alone. The place might be different but there was an understanding, a subtlety in the lift of an eyebrow in a tilt of the chin. Intention. Want. Somewhere deep down, a need to know you’re not alone in this world.

He flashed the man a wink and made his way slowly towards the back of the bar, feeling the man's eyes on him the whole time. He ducked out the back door and into the alley, lit up a cigarette and waited.

It's the All That Slithers Discord's birthday this month, and to celebrate we are going back into time to give you all the previous prompts from A Strongly Worded Notes past. :D

What this means is you can pick any monster from a previous ASWN prompt for this month!
