Today, Splatoon 3 will host its final Splatfest! So I made a lil comic-ish thing for it !

Let's make this one count!! And have fun, everyone :D

So I shall tell you my reasoning/thoughts on each of these panels !! Cuz I like explaining things

"As we learn from the past," - Set in Splatoon 1, using my Splatsona design during that time (plus the 1st set of gear I mained). Being a young teen back then was an awkward time- I was just starting to make friends on the internet, and it was a whole new experience being online. Looking at it now, there were many weird things I've said and done. I may resent it, having mixed feelings, but the time has gone by. What's done is done, and it's not like I can do anything to change it. Plus, all that time has made me who I am.

"we must focus on the present" - Set in Splatoon 2, using my Splatsona design during that time. Honestly, this could also be seen as past but what am I gonna do about it-- Anyway, growing older and even moving to an entirely new place was also an experience. In some parts of my older teen years, admittedly my mental health did take a toll- And it wasn't very pretty in ways I didn't expect. But I've bounced back, even though sometimes it's still a struggle. This era saddens me in a different way, since I had dropped Splatoon for a while since Nintendo Switch Online rolled out (causing me to miss Splatoon 2 finalfest). But at least throughout that time, I've gotten myself to grow and attempt to focus my goals (kinda).

"so we can look forward to the future." - Set in Splatoon 3, using my current Splatsona design. Finally coming back when I've acquired the newest game, I was ecstatic. And right now as I sit here, looking to how much time has passed- I can certainly say I've grown a lot since I was a lil teen. I'm content with that, but I can tell I still have more room for improvement. So even if I'm not entirely happy with where I'm at right now in my life, I'm slowly progressing with growing confidence to get a grip and forge the way forward. I hope to look more forward to what lies ahead.

And on an unrelated note, I find it funny that this whole comic can also symbolize all the moving I've done- Which maybe compared to some other people isn't a lot but, man have I been to different places

The first thing that I wanted to say was that today is my birthday! 🎂

It's irrelevant, but anyways... I read an earlier post, and I wanted to make an early birthday request.

Can I please request general headcannons of Headphones from the Splatoon manga? (Platonic/Romantic.)

She's my favorite, and apparently, she is 21 in Splatoon 3, so that's a cool little detail.

Sorry if this was made a little late, I have a lot of work to do, and I won't be able to make the request period tomorrow.

Yandere! Headphones Concept

Pairing: Platonic/Romantic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Manipulation, Jealousy, Stalking, Social isolation, Clingy behavior, Dubious Companionship/Relationship.

Headphones is down-to-earth and one of the most reasonable members of Blue Team.

She's serious like Specs while Goggles and Bobble Hat are often goofy and carefree.

However... she's often easily worried and easily intimidated.

Later on she's more determined and confident but can have her moments.

On her team she's usually the long distance player, specializing in Splat-Chargers and Squiffers.

She acts like an older sibling of the group, often looking out for everyone during battles and other adventures.

Maybe for this concept your bond starts with you being part of Blue Team.

You aren't a main member, but you are childhood friends with them.

If one of them can't make it to a Turf War or Ranked Battle, you'll step in.

Headphones looks after you when you're one her team and off it.

If she can't be near you in a Turf War, she invites you to watch.

If she isn't in a battle, she takes some time away from her team to hang out with you or invites you to join her and the rest of your friends.

She seems like she'd always be overprotective with you.

Even when you're all adults now.

I don't imagine Splatoon yanderes are all that intense to write. (I'm known to keep things as close to canon as possible)

But I can imagine some petty things happening between rivals.

Especially if two Inklings/Octolings are put on opposite teams.

For example, since Headphones sees herself as such a close friend to you, she'd get into fights with friends you have on other teams.

You'll be in a Turf War with a friend from another team, only for Headphones to target them the whole time.

I mean... even if you're just watching she's ruthless.

That's the most I can see Splatoon rivalries going without going into darker and OOC territory.

Headphones would do really petty things if you're too close to others.

Like, she's normally really level-headed... but I can imagine her being passive aggressive.

Headphones tends to like music, she'd probably listen to the Squid Sisters with you.

If you had any music you liked she'd do her best to listen to it.

Sometimes hanging out with one another just includes listening to music and talking.

If you two were on opposite teams in a Turf War, she'd want to go easy on you.

If she can't then she checks in with you after the battle to see if you're okay.

Now while she gets jealous of you hanging out with other friends on different teams... she will defend you if anyone tried to harm you in anyway.

For example, maybe someone like Emperor or Vintage is a bit too harsh on you?

Headphones quickly steps in to defend you, even if you didn't ask for it.

No matter the intentions, she really defends you and your happiness.

She wants you to have fun and she wants to (hopefully) be the cause of such happiness.

Although, you could say that her attempts appear to isolate you.

Her being so protective and jealous of anyone near you but Blue Team harms you more than helps you.

Headphones may not even realize what she's doing is bad.

She's... just so used to looking out for others since you all were young.

She forgets you're all not children or teens anymore.

By the time her obsession peaks you're all adults.

Yet she still treats you like a kid she has to care for.

Her obsession definitely doesn't happen on purpose.

She doesn't even acknowledge it half the time.

She wouldn't do anything like kidnap (Squidnap...?) or murder.

She's more like... an overbearing friend.

It doesn't matter if she sees you like a sibling or even has a crush on you.

She's unintentionally suffocating even when she's oblivious to it.

The times she does catch herself is when she finds herself following you around.

Specs notices this and asks about it, which makes Headphones pause.

Yeah... why does she keep following you around?

Is she really that worried about safety... or is it something else?

Maybe deep down she worries you'll move on from Blue Team... maybe you'll move on from her and your other friends...

That would give some sort of explanation to the way she's been so hostile towards friends you make from other teams.

Don't even get me started on how she feels when she learns you have a crush on said other friends.

She will slowly isolate you without needing to lock you anywhere.

After all... you both might be unhappy at such an arrangement.

But... on the other hand...

She'd do anything to keep her most precious friend, right?

Overall, Headphones isn't violent or anything... but she is smothering and overly concerned.

Her obsession may very well come from the fear of you moving on from her and leaving Blue Team due to growing up...

So she plans to stick with you for as long as she can... she doesn't plan on leaving you or letting you leave. Ever. No matter what it takes.

"What do you mean you want to meet up with other friends...? I already made plans with you! Maybe another time... or I can come with?"

Making this post so I can point at it later if any of these are right but behold. My splatoon 3 final splatfest theories

Option 1 (the most obvious): Deep Cut vs Off the Hook vs Squid Sisters

Two different ways this could go. They probably have the assets to make it so that each team is actually led by the group of it's namesake (maybe the splatfest tee colours would have the signature colours of the group as either a gradient or pretty tie-dye stuff, and the ink colours in matches would be random but made sure they're at least visibly different. oth vs ss would pick one pink one green for example). The hub worlds would show the colours for that team. The main reasons I don't think they would do this are a) the news segment would be complicated (would they be switching between studios mid-scene? is everyone just crowded into deep cut's one ???) and b) the Inkopolis hub worlds are dlc

The other way they could do this is for OtH and SS to be represented by Frye and Big Man respectively, because we do sort of now have a set-up where each member of Deep Cut has a specific connection to each idol group. Shiver is the leader of Deep Cut (via Splatfest Results Only), Frye has now gained some kind of bestie rivalry with Pearl, and Big Man has been making music with the Squid Sisters. While I don't think it would be in-character for Frye or Big Man to choose those groups over Deep Cut (they have their code!!) they might be leading the teams as a sorta, someone has to root for the underdogs / Well Deep Cut Is Just Us Do You Want To Be Boring Shiver We Have To Have Opponents In Order To Win

Option 2: Past / Present / Future

I've had this idea since near the start of the game and since we've already had an idol VS splatfest for the first anniversary they might not be planning to do another one. This would also be an interesting theme as a Regular Splatfest Which Is Not The Last One but I feel like it's kind of meaningful enough to be a finalfest one in the same way Chaos vs Order was? (and could, technically, cause world theming for a splatoon 4, I guess. do we go traditional or futuristic or make everything the same as before / just kind of Still)

The assigned teams for this are in that order but the reasoning is:

Shiver: Past. They're proud of themself and what they've achieved and their lineage, so the past is important to them. You have to have done well in the past to have a good present or future, right? (also they sure have Won Lost Of Splatfests in the past. lol)

Frye: Present. She's enjoying the now! Live for today! Why worry about the past or the future when you can live one day at the time and now have to worry about what has or will happen? (also, Frye is a gift to us all)

Big Man: Future. He's very chill and looking forward to what the future will bring! Potentially a little Worried about the future as well, with being the head of his clan now, but are the past and present not equally worrying?

Anyway fun and silly explanation this is not supposed to be a serious "so This is what the theme will be based on my guessing" but I just think these would Be Fun And Possible. I just wanted to place this here as a time capsule <3

A few days later, and it looked like the weatherman was right. The skies do look quite miserable today. It’s full of dull grey clouds, but no rain. You sit at home, bored, having nothing good to do. You want to play video games, but you’ve already speedrun them all with Leo, or they’re no fun. Then it hits you. The Shoal! You’ve always wanted to go, but it was always way too busy for your comfort zone. You quickly get up and throw your favorite top on, grabbing your bag and headphones, throwing your shoes on. Milo asks you where you’re going, just to be safe.

“Alright, have fun! Oh, grab a brella and don’t get caught in the rain!”

You sigh at how protective he is, but he’s right. You grab his brella since it’s closest to the door, and head out.

‘Wow, it’s so much nicer in here when it’s not packed.’

You take a look around, only spotting the person at the counter and a couple who are about to leave. You can actually hear the sounds of all the arcade games waiting to be played, instead the screams of young squids. You get your coins, a good handful of them, and take a quick walk around the building. You spot a game that looks familiar. It looks almost just like pacman, Except with squids. Oh, how this brings out the kid in you!

You get lost in the games, going from pac-man, to space invaders, even finding tetris. Those aren’t the proper names, but they’re basically the same games with some more splatoon-like attributes. It doesn’t seem like anyone’s around, so you absentmindedly start to hum, then quietly sing some songs that have been stuck in your head.

You continue to hum the lyrics you’re not sure on, but stop mid lyric(mid-hum?) when you hear some loud clicking. It’s coming from the front of you to the right, hidden by some large arcade machines. You could barely see through the cracks of the big machines, not recognising the person. It seems they were playing squid beatz, and they were phenomenal at it. You didn’t want to bother anyone, but they sounded insanely skilled at the game. Just a little peek? You go around the machines and turn the corner, now recognizing this familiar, cyan-colored inkling immediately. You kept quiet not wanting to distract him and mess him up. When you turn your back to him, he calls out to you.

“Hey, yooou.”

You notice he just completed the level, with a seemingly perfect score.

“Uh, yeah?” You shift in your spot awkwardly, not really wanting to interact too much. 

‘Actually, the story is only focusing on Rider and Goggles in hero mode right now. That means that this is the time to meet these characters.’

“You look familiaaar. You had curry with everyone a couple days agoooo, right? You came and watched some of my battles, toooo.”

“Never would have thought you paid so much attention to details. I don’t think I stand out that much, do I?” You decided the best way to go about this was to feel somewhat comfortable, but still keep your space and show a bit of respect.

“Where’s the rest of team cyan?”

He picks an easier song to play to, not wanting to lose while still semi-focusing on the conversation. How thoughtful. (It was still a difficult song, but there were fewer quick sequences of notes.)

“Juuuust me here. They wanted to finish speedrunning a game that I beat aaaages ago.”

You boot up a game just a few machines down, knowing that this one’s easy to play, so you don’t have to have your full attention on it.

“What about yooours?”

“Wanted to come alone. Never been to the Shoal before because it was always so busy, figured today was my best option.”

He finishes the song with ease, patting his pockets and seeing that he needs more coins. He brought a small bag with him, and you see a pile of tickets building up in it. He must have been here a while. You’re not sure what to do, so you follow behind him after purposefully loosing your game.

He notices you,

“Yeah, weather’s perfect. Just hooow I like it.”

He looks outside, now being close to the front of the store.

“Starting to raaaain.”

Already? It doesn’t feel like you’ve been here that long. You check your phone and sure enough, you’ve been here for a couple hours.

“You plan on heading home before the rain hits, Mask?”

“I wouldn’t mind staaaying here aaaall day.”

You shrug, agreeing on that. The sun is usually really hot out, so it’s a nice change of pace. A big contrast to all the bright colors and loud sounds that are usually everywhere.

Your stomach rumbles, and you remember that you haven’t had anything to eat since a small snack you considered breakfast.

You look around and see a sign that says they offer food, perfect.

“You hungry? I bet you’ve been here a while.”

“A liiittle.”

“How ‘bout I get us some pizza?”

He contemplates it, but who’s gonna deny free pizza? He puts his coins in his pocket.

“Suuuure.”

You take your time eating, they had some surprisingly good pizza and soda here. He’d pull his mask just barely above his mouth to take a small bite every once in a while. Mask would sneeze every so often, earning him a tissue from your bag. He didn’t eat lots, which made sense considering his overly skinny frame. Good thing he did turf to gain some muscle, but he should really try to take better care of himself. You two didn’t talk a lot, but sometimes Mask would ask you something, usually unrelated to battles. It’s actually quite nice not talking about battles or your skill, it seems it’s all others care about when it comes to you. 

He’s weird, that’s for sure. But once he warms up to you, he’s a nice break from reality, if you could even call it that. Not that he’d ever be completely comfortable, not even with his own teammates, that’s just how he is. You noticed that even out of battles, they would keep a comfortable distance. It seems he’s not a fan of physical contact, which is something you could respect. Once the two of you were done eating you continued to play on the arcade machines. You finally ran out of coins, sad that you had to leave. You were enjoying this time, finally able to genuienly hang out with someone from the manga without being afraid of changing the story. He notices that you’ve been quiet for a while, and sees that you’re no longer playing your game, just watching his. He offers you a couple coins, but you deny them. 

“That’s really sweet of you, but I should probably make my way home. Milo probably has an actual supper ready. Can’t wait to get home and have him lecture me on having pizza before supper.” He turns his head away, not used to being complemented. You check your pockets to see how many tickets you have, you probably have a couple hundred. It won’t get you any big prizes, but if you were to give them to Mask, on top of his - at least a thousand,-  he could get himself something nice. You try to subtly drop your tickets into the bag next to his foot, but he catches them before they can fall into his bag. Oh yeah, he’s S+. He’s got quick reflexes if he feels like using them.

“I don’t need them, I’m here ooooften.” He quits his game halfway through, and walks over to the prize counter, bag in hand. You want to question him, curious as to why he wants a prize all of a sudden. Maybe he just remembered something at the counter that he wanted. He asks for something behind the counter and the worker trades him for it. While browsing the smaller prizes, you vaguely hear the words: “One thousand tickets,” 

Hey, he worked for them, so whatever he’s getting is completely up to him.

Once he’s done at the counter, you ask the worker for two keychains. One cyan squid, and one squid of your main ink color. He gives them to you in exchange for 125 tickets each, and you clip the cyan one to your bag. Mask watches you and waits for you to be done before holding out the item he got.

“It’s Naruto, volumes 1-3 all combined in one book.. I heard you humming the opening earlier, so I figured you were a fan of the series.”

…that’s embarrassing. 

Since when was he this kind? But also, Naruto! That means that 1. Anime and manga exist here, and 2. He’s a weeb. Actually it was kind of obvious, he definitely seems like the type to watch anime.

You’re unsure of how to accept it, it is really nice of him, but it’s so expensive! But he already got it, and he probably already has the same one at home, so you can’t just deny this!

“Oh… thank you. That’s, um, actually really nice. Makes it feel more like home.”

“Huuuh? Hooome?”

“Oh, yeah, I just moved here, and couldn’t bring all my old manga, which really sucked.”

“Ouuuch. It can get pretty expensive.”

You sway on your feet, not sure what else to say. You already thanked him, but you don’t want to leave. You’ll see him again though, you’re sure.

You offer him a small smile and wave after some contemplating, and make your way out the door, grabbing your brella.

He watches you make your way out of the building, open your brella, and walk out of his sight. He picks up his bag, and feels a bit of cold metal on his hand. A keychain. With a squid that matches your ink color.

‘Huh. They sure are weird.’

Splatoon Mech AU: Storymode

This will be more in line with an anime plot and its pacing, and will be a general overview for this AU. Fair warning: I can't write to save my life.

Story - The Beginning

Hiro and Veronika (and Lil Buddy) head to the Crater in Junks, their Old Tech mech, to do some scavenging for mech parts.

Whilst the trio is rummaging through the human tech debris, two mechs fly overhead, shortly followed by a dozen or so law enforcement mecha. The gang play opossum and set Junks down beside the rest of the metal scrap to blend in to avoid detection. The two mechs from before that flew overhead fly over again; this time heading staight towards the centre of the Crater. The trio are certain the pilots of the mechs plan on taking their mechs down with them in a final bid to escape the feds when the scorched earth opens up, swallowing the two mecha whole.

The opening closed just as quickly as it opened; its metal maws promptly snapping shut with a clang.

No sooner had it closed when the law arrived en masse; the sun reflecting harshly off of their metal chassis'. The gang had no other choice but to wait patiently, and pray they remained hidden. It was starting to get dark...

The squad of scavengers awaken to a loud thud outside of Junks. 'This is it,' they think to themselves, 'we've been rumbled'. Before they could rev Junks' engines to life to escape, a spindly figure of an old man slid down the Pilot's window. Neither of the three could decide what was worse; the Cod awful sound of skin on screen friction, or the fact that the old fart was staring directly at them. They had indeed been 'rumbled', but fortunately not by the feds.

"...Do I use the window wipers." Hiro mused.

Veronika looked over to him, signing a stern "No", with a capital 'N'. Lil Buddy babbled enthusiastically.

"You're no fun." he exhaled as he unbuckled himself from his Pilot seat, hauling himself up and out of Junks' Pilot cabin hole.

The old man was already halfway down Junks' screen by the time Hiro got out. At least it saved him the job of having to peel him off of Junks. Hiro clambered down Junks' side ladder to reach the old man before he inevitably fell; though with how long it was taking for the old fart to slide down, it might have been faster to simply shove him to the floor.

Nevertheless, Hiro waited. And waited. And waited. And-

"Veronika! Use the blasted wipers!" he barked up into Junks' Pilot cabin.

Though no sooner had he said it did the old man fall directly on top of him. Hiro had never tasted sand before today. Needless to say, he was not a fan of its grainy and dry texture in his mouth. Or the old fart crushing his abdomen.

Veronika and Lil Buddy watched on unamused as the two floundered on the ground like toddlers; Hiro spluttering and spitting sand from his mouth whilst the spindly old man pushed himself off of Hiro and onto his feet, completely oblivious.

"You..." Hiro managed between a mouthful of sand.

The two cabin crew mates locked eyes with one another in silent agreement, before exiting through the Pilot hatch.

Veronika double tapped their double ear pieces, bringing them to life. Veronika signed a few phrases to test if the sign to audio translation worked. Hopefully this would make communication easier, though with the potential for a scuffle breaking out between Hiro and "Screen Wiper", that might be too optimistic of a thought.

Veronika and Buddy emerged from Junks expecting to find that the Great Turf War II had broken out berween their co-pilot and Screen Wiper; though much to their surprise the two were behaving civilised with one another, deep in discussion.

"Heya Squiddo!" the old man beamed as Veronika descended Junks.

"I've got a proposal for you three, if you'd hear an old squid out..."

I got kind of carried away with this lol. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your read and this rare instance of me using proper punctuation and grammar.

Might expand on this with further installments, like the missions and final fight. But we shall see.

Summary ~  Tommy and the reader cuddle while they play Splatoon 3 and then bone.

Dry Texas heat sticks to your skin, even with the ceiling fan on full blast you are no match for the sheer amount of heat. Thomas, the gentlelady she is, crept downstairs to get you the strawberry Monster you had brought over earlier today to share. The little game system rests in your hands as you wait to be placed into a match, quiet music falling upon deaf ears. You lean back, looking up at the decorations hanging from the walls, and you notice Ozzy staring into the inky depths of your oh-so-edgy soul. Giggling at that thought, you look back at the game; a little pinging noise rings out, Finally!

The internet here sucks ass, you had to have been waiting for at least 5 minutes, but that doesn't stop you from trying. (even if you get kicked out and temporarily banned for an hour.) The match starts, and you can hear the creaky bedroom door open, and the trademark heavy footsteps mixed with the shuffling of their feet against the floor.

"Welcome back Pookie!" You squeal quietly as she sits down next to you on the bed, placing your respective can of Monster on her side table. her face crinkles at the nickname you bestowed upon her. They start typing on their phone, so you go back to killing other players with Aerospray spam, successfully team-killing all four enemy players.

"RAAAAH!! eagle emoji, eagle emoji, eagle emoji, fire emoji, American flag emoji!" you exclaim, making sure to be careful with your voice to not wake up Ms. Luda Mae in the next room. A robotic feminine tone rings out into the quiet room shortly after your outburst,

"Shark attack in the aquarium, shark atta- shark attack in the aquarium, sha- shark- shark attack in the- shark-" you look up at Tommy, her phone in her hand, spamming her TTS app. She looks so proud of herself, a smile playing on her lips like she wants to laugh. They look so pretty like this, leather mask abandoned from her face, scarred cheek on display, you can see into her mouth through the hole. She's missing her nose but it doesn't seem to take away from her beauty. her scarred cleft lip twitches as she notices your staring, smile faltering for a moment.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was staring directly at you." You exhale, feeling the warmth of fresh blood rush to your face, you can only hope that the red fairy lights strung from the ceiling can hide it. Looking back at your game, you check the map. The opposing team managed to infiltrate your team's base while you were AFK. With only a few seconds left, you accept your defeat and place the Switch down on the bed next to you. You look back up at Tommy, she's watching you carefully, "You're just really pretty, sometimes I can't help myself, and I space out when I look at you. You know I think you're the prettiest person I've ever been with, right?" you clarify, you lean into her, pressing your face into her meaty shoulder. God, I love this woman. you think, inhaling her honey-like scent.

"You're too sappy. I love you." The robotic tone spits out. Tommy's large hand wraps around your wrist, the one with the matching half-heart pendant to hers. She brings your wrist, and attached hand, up to her face, Pressing her lips against the back of your hand. She begins their little routine of treating you like Morticia Adams, herself playing the role of Gomez. She trails kisses up your arm feverishly, only stopping momentarily when she gets to the sleeve of her T-shirt. You laugh, letting yourself be manhandled by your girlfriend. She reaches for her phone again, "Nice shirt." The monotone voice rings. The voice was right, it is a nice shirt, especially because you stole it from a very pretty lady. "Thanks! You'll never guess where I got it," You giggle. Thomas continues her kisses up your neck, craning down to meet its height. Custer by Slipknot comes on before quickly Tommy lets out a nervous yelp, quickly changing it to No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne.

"Nice save," You giggle, Tommy is quick to glare and bare her teeth, pushing up your (her) shirt and biting down on your plush stomach. You let out a yelp, attempting to cover your stomach with your hands, but Thomas is quick to catch them. Grabbing both wrists in one hand, she takes off your (her) shirt carefully, making sure your hands can't escape her grasp. She uses one hand to slide your pink and white skull-and-crossbones shorts and underwear out from under you by lifting you. All the while you just can't stop giggling, She's so cute when she's like this.

She places her open hand between your legs, finding your clit with two fingers, she swirls around it gently for a few seconds before checking if you're prepared for her. She deems you adequate and lays herself on top of you very carefully, treating you like glass. She keeps their hand on your wrists, holding herself up some as she finds your entrance with the head of her penis. She pushes in with an audible whimper, burring her head into your neck and biting down hard. Her hair spills over your face, but you're too focused on her being inside of you for you to notice how it tickles your nose and cheeks. She lets go of your wrists and lifts your legs to her waist, motioning for you to keep them there. She slides her knees underneath your thighs and ass, holding you in a Breeding Press. You can feel your release approaching, but she looks closer. Tommy catches onto that fact at about the same time, rubbing into your clit softly with their open palm.

You grab onto the sheets tightly as an orgasm wracks through your body, and Tommy places her hand on your throat with a gentle squeeze. She rocks into you, and something warm spills into you as they keep going. When she's sure she's filled you enough, she collapses on top of you, soft belly pressing into your ribs and abdomen. Hii sorry it's been quite a bit, side order came out and I was getting 999 on the salmon run gold rotation so I was distracted by splatoon this weekend lol. Anyways, new developments for the vanny glitch!

So last time I played I realized the game counts the stage in Rockstar Row as a raised platform that stalls enemies, if you remember its what causes the Vannies to stop in place. So first I messed around with that area with Vanessa only to make sure it worked. And she, uh.. she works pretty interestingly I realized.

She'll just play this weird flashlight throwing/aggressively pointing animation and stare you dead in the eyes. Vanessa please im autistic only freddy can look at me like that /hj

It made for some pretty funny moments where it looked like she was beating the shit out of roxy with the flashlight LMAO. Idk why the screenshots are so blurry though sorry about that.

I died more times than I want to admit today but it led to some interesting developments. Apparently that flashlight animation is supposed to be her calling over an animatronic to your location. Apparently, she can also make them teleport, like staff bots do.. I found this out the hard way after she made roxy teleport through a wall to kill me. Should've just hopped in Freddy..

This time it took her like 5 minutes to do that "never to be seen again" run into the void. (I really wish I could follow her without dying.. idk if Freddy's speed is enough to escape Vanny..) my theory is that she's running out of bounds so she can de-spawn since the game probably doesn't want those two in the same room like this. Though it's odd her ai is programmed for a scenario that never happens normally in-game.

But I did get the screenshots >:D they're not in the best position I'll admit but at least it's not as blurry as the last screenshot. Thing is, there's only 1 Vanny this time.. I think I'm getting closer to figuring out how this glitch works.

I loaded in from a save file that already had the security badges and went back in bounds, did the freddy repair, watched Vanessa talk for 5 minutes per death.. you know the drill. But this time it only spawned in 1 Vanny.

I think it has something to do with the atrium loading. I can do the spawn twice, once by walking towards the save near fazerblast and the escalator next to it, and another time by walking up the escalator and going back down a different escalator. I'm unsure if you can spawn them 3 times or only 2, though the circumstances of this are very precise so there's a chance I did something differently from my initial discovery of the glitch.

A bit of a tldr here, my current theory is that each time you load and deload the atrium without respawning Vanny, the game counts it as 1 missing Vanny to add to the count next time you pass the spawn trigger.. so I think initially I went back and forth enough that the game counted it as 4 deloads, that one time it only counted as 3, i probably didn't run around back and forth as much. I'll have to test it to confirm but this theory makes the most sense to me. The fact that performing the glitch from a fresh save file (well, as fresh as you can get.) Results in 1 Vanny spawn means something you do in the atrium triggers that counter to go up. I'm unsure if 4 is the max count or if that's just coincidentally the number I hit. I want to test it out more for sure but for now that's my best guess, though I can't confirm it yet.

I feel like a mad scientist trying to figure out how this glitch works lmao. It's been a very fun experience.

i came up with this idea 30 mins ago i need to inform the internet of this

you play as Neo 3 and this event was organized by cuttlefish to "bring the team closer together for future missions." The REAL reason is that cuttlefish was bored as fuck and thought it would be really fun

Captain A.K.A. Agent 3: Competent and has a very very very subtle tell but dosent bluff too often.

Agent 4: Isn't actually there (they had finals the next day) BUT they do call Marie sometimes when thier parents arent paying attention

Agent 8: Is not playing and vibing with Acht (ill get to them later)

Neo 3: who you play as

Cuttlefish: Cracked. Hes an old man playing poker im not quite sure what you expected. Probably won a few tourtaments and plays recreationally. Suprisingly, he only has the second best AI at the table...

Callie: Surprisingly good. Shes played against cuttlefish many many times so shes picked up on his tells and also learned a few tricks over the years

Marie: A rival to Cuttlefish, 3rd best AI at the table easily. Snarky as all hell and generally fun to play with. One big problem with her though: Sometimes when Agent 4 calls, 4 asks for her hand and shes just. Says her whole ass hand. Out loud. And then asks for advice. Sometimes Callie elbows her if shes still in the game but everyone else is frantically memorizing her hand.

Pearl: Never played before today. Goes about as well as you would expect. Cheers on Marin a lot when she gets out. She does not know what a Full House is and thinks its like go fish so every time she won the pot she would shout "FULL HOUSE!!" And everyone would be really confused

Marina: There because Pearls there. Shes doing her best. She at least knows how the game is played but shes waaay too nervous to bluff.

Acht: Here because 8 invited her because 8 didnt know anyone else besides the weird old man playing poker and she didnt really wanna 3rd wheel Pearlina. Acht is the dealer because she had a stint in whatever the splatoon equivalent lent of vegas once while she was taking an extended leave from school. She's actually pretty good but just never plays. Marina is very surprised to see her, but happy nonetheless.

Shiver: She is there to WIN. She dosent give two shits about team bonding or whatever, she just wants to rub it in this old geezer's face. Teamed up with Frye to keep Big Man away from the Squid Sisters. Middle of the pack AI but has really obvious tells. Warms up a little after losing to both other members of Deep Cut. Cheats in early rounds. Acht notices she marked the cards the whole time, but instead of calling her out she quietly gets a new deck between rounds just to fuck with her.

Frye: Fawns over Off The Hook the entire time and Shiver gets kinda annoyed. Slightly better than shiver with less obvious tells. Folds hands very angrily.

Big Man: Remember when I said Cuttlefish was only second best? Meet the REAL king. Gambling is in his BLOOD. How do you think the Manta Family Clan rose to power? Kraken racing. They would illegally give some of the krakens swim speed up in splatoon 1 days before it was banned. His family is all CONS and CHEATS. So it's no wonder Big Man is a sweep. The only other person who can really challenge him is Cuttlefish, and thats part of the reason cuttle organized this whole event (Cuttlefish only lost his tournaments to members of the Manta Clan). Cuttlefish and Big Man are throwing so much trash talk around the whole time. If he wins the pot he dosent split it, despite Shiver and Frye's protesting, because the Squid Sisters cuss out Shiver and Frye and they just sigh dejectedly and apologize.

Did not think I'd be getting emotional about Splatoon of all things, but here I am! So we just got done with the cryptid Splatfest, and this one introduced two new Squid Sisters songs. Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today is such a bop, and it has me feeling so many things, thinking about all the previous Splatfests I've played and how it hasn't stopped being fun.

I've been playing since the first game, got Splatoon back in 2015 to play with friends but didn't really get to that much. My youngest sister and I loved playing it together though, it was our game. We'd have a sleepover in the basement where we'd start playing Splatfest at midnight, go to bed, then one of us would wake up early and rank up to Queen level before the other got up, then we'd both get there before noon and call it a day. There was a magic to it that I can't really put into words, but it was special, it was our thing.

Splatoon 2 happened while I was in college. I was a little late to pick it up, but I loved it. Pearl and Marina were great, the music was lovely, and I adored Shifty Station. Came to almost every Splatfest, save for the ones where I was out of town. Didn't love playing the story mode (though I do love the story). I actually didn't finish it until relatively recently, and it wasn't even me who did it. It was my little brother. See, he asked to play the first two games after I got into 3, and so I let him borrow my copies. He finished my file, save for the final boss, where he handed me the controller and said I should have the honors. (He had already beaten it on his own file apparently.) The thrill of hearing the Spicy Calamari Inkantation was amazing, the music all throughout the boss fight had a story to it, and I was enchanted by it. Finally Callie was saved, I was so happy. I missed out on Octo Expansion (makes sense, why would I get it if I don't like the single player?), but I've been told I need to see a Let's Play of it, so that's on the to-do list. XD

Now we get to three, and my bro wanted to experience what my sister and I had growing up. Between you and me, I think he's gotten something even better. We don't do sleepovers anymore, but now we play as a team. It's myself, my bro, my sis, and my sister's husband. Sometimes they come over, and sometimes we call on the phone and play together. We've got strategies, we all play a variety of weapons (I fancy myself a bucket more often than not now!), and we have such a good time. There's a little yelling when other teams have poor sportsmanship, and sometimes we need to pause when it stops being fun, but overall? I love my squad. During the chocolate Splatfest we got a x333 battle and won, and it was one of the best multiplayer moments I've ever had, took so many pictures with Frye after that. I now take a photo every Splatfest of my octoling with my Amiibo. It's nice to have new traditions.

Needless to say, this funky little squid and octopus game means a lot to me. I'm so glad I get to share this with my family, but also now with my friends. We don't play together super often, but it's gotten me to be a little better at asking to play than I used to be, and we also have such a good time.

I haven't gotten the DLC, since once again with 3, single player isn't quite my vibe. It's better to play, I've at least beaten it and loved the story, but I haven't gone back and done every stage. But my brother has, so now I get to see my old stomping grounds when he's playing, and seeing the Squid Sisters share the stage with a new song hit me right in the gut. I did not expect to feel that, but after everything they've been through as characters, and how long I've spent with them on their journey and my own, seeing the two trucks combined into one stage just, it MEANS something to me. They're together again and better than ever, and it's so GOOD! AAAHHHH! I love all of our idols so much but these two have a very special place in my heart.

*sighs* so mom undercooked the turkey. I had to cook it for an extra hour until it was ready. Such is the way of things. Mom doesn't cook very commonly so that explains the jank-ass turkey problem. Still sis ate an undercooked turkey leg so. Yeah. She just does things like that. She seems alright I'm just worried is all. It wasn't too badly off but she needs to be more careful! She also got me a squishmallow as a gift on Thanksgiving. I do not want one. I have too many plush things and they get lost. :/ I appreciate the thought but.. I really would rather she keep this. Also black Friday two electric boogaloo: the squeakuel. Night shift has this draw back. Hurrian Hymn no.6 is the world's oldest known melody.

These were all my matches and the results from today during the first few rounds of Splatfest

I'm part of team water so I already had a bit of a disadvantage regarding the other teams and their player level, and Splatoon 3 was also my introduction into this franchise and shooters as a whole

As you can see I was doing very poorly in my first few rounds, only winning once in the beginning and then constantly being on a loosing streak

And the more I lost the more I was just not enjoying myself

I did play with the thought of turning off the game and not play for this month's Splatfest

That was until a few more matches in I met up with a player who stayed in the team for multiple rounds

"Ruby:3" and I both had a twin style in the game with the same hairstyle and hat joice, so we already kinda stuck to one another

And we started to have our own fun even

And the more fun I had, and the happier I got, the better our win streaks got! Having multiple double wins in a row!

And even after the maps got updated we decided to rejoin after sending out friend requests

The moment I found fun in the game again I was doing much better and it goes to shows that you should take care of yourself both mentally and physically to really perform your best or at least better

I really hope I can match up with them again tomorrow during the second part of the Splatfest because I enjoyed the time we spent together a lot

It's been a long day of battles, and you're ready to crash on that damn uncomfortable bench. 

'Man, I should really get myself an apartment or something.'

Once you've situated yourself comfortably on said bench- as comfortable as a hardwood bench could be- you begin the think about tomorrow. 

'Aloha's battle with Goggles is supposed to go down at some point, right? Wasn't Mask just finishing up one of his battles at the same time? Yeah that's right, he complained about how energetic Aloha was or something.'

You're stuck in your own thoughts, contemplating your choices. You already know exactly how Aloha's battle goes, but you still have much to learn from his skills! On the other hand, you're still disappointed that the manga didn't show off how skilled the S4 really was. Getting destroyed by Team Blue first shot and all. Besides skull of course, but that battle wasn't even shown, just the outcome! How annoying. But oh, that's going to be such a fun game to watch! You can't wait to watch Team Blue get wrecked!... Not to be mean or anything, but you've had enough of the overpowered main character moments. 

You look up and realise that you probably looked crazy or at least a little weird when you spot somebody staring at you, big grin across your face. 

'Alright, cool it. But that's gonna be so fun~ But back to the choice at hand, who's battle do I go watch?'

You'd really love to see Mask destroy his opponent, it's said that he didn't even have to swing his roller once, how impressive! But he said in his battle with Goggles that swinging down and crushing his opponents doesn't count, so does he do that? Does his team do all the inking? Ugh, so many questions.

'Wait a sec, I'm in the Splatoon manga. That means I can probably watch some off-the-record battles at some point! And they’re famous, so I bet some of their big battles are caught on video.’  

…So now what? Who's battle is more likely to get filmed. Or rather, who's would you rather see up close? Mask is technically stronger than Aloha and Aloha's definently a more take a video and pictures of everything kinda guy, so maybe Mask?

'But they're both really good teams! Y'know what? I'll just try to catch both of their battles. Tomorrow'll be pretty eventful.'

It'll have to be planned out and executed right, but you're sure you can catch both battles, if you do this right!

You look down at the uncomfortable bench below you, sighing. It can't really be helped, another night sleeping on this bench won't hurt.

You shield your eyes from the bright sun, it seems you were able to sleep in a bit today. Your weapon and bag are intact, so that's a bonus. You shrug your bag onto your shoulder and grab your weapon by the strap Sheldon gave you, and make your way over to Inkopolis Tower to see what time the big battles are at. There's a big screen on there stating what time Corocoro Cup battles are at, so you get to see that Aloha and Goggle's official battle starts at 10:44 am. As for the Cyan Team, it says 10:46 am. It shouldn't be too difficult to get from Mahi Mahi to Walleye Warehouse. A couple long super jumps and you'll go from one to the other in no time. 

'Alright, I'll leave right after Pink Team's Disco Ball Dance, and I should catch the last little bit of Cyan Team's battle.'

You make your way over to Ammo Knights in the meantime, sitting down in the training area and taking the time to clean your weapon thoroughly.

It doesn't take long before a yellow-green inkling with a Gold Dynamo Roller walks in with the same intentions as you, so you turn your back to him. 

'I really can't get a break, can I? These main characters are everywhere!'  You take a look down at your precious weapon and inspect it, 'Well, I guess I'm bound to run into them if I act like them. I probably got this whole 'treating my weapon like my own child' thing from Rider anyways.'

Recalling how you began a manual like Army's, you're starting to see a pattern.

You finish putting your weapon together, doing a quick durability test and making sure the ink goes through smoothly. Once you've made sure it's running better than before, you look at the clock on the wall and note that it's 11:30. Time to get going. You make your way over to Mahi Mahi Resort, trying to find the best seats that are still close to an exit. You place your weapon down to take your manual out, closing your bag up and making sure it's ready to go as soon as you can leave. You watch the Pink Team get to Mahi Mahi and start sunbathing and hanging out a couple minutes early.

'That's right, Pink Team got there early and was waiting for the Blue Team.' 

Aloha spots you in the barely-existent crowd, winking and waving at you. You pretend not to notice, checking the time on your phone. 11:41. You spot an inkling a couple seats over wave at him excitedly. 

'Good, that checks out.' 

Then you hear the cries of the Blue Team as Goggles drags them into the non-inkling-safe water.

Oh, and there goes Aloha, underestimating his opponents. Honestly, you probably would too if you were up against the Blue Team. 

'Aloha really does talk like a party animal, huh? I can barely understand him sometimes.'

The match begins, Specs and Goggles are off to a bad start. Aloha points out that his team never fights and doesn't bother with practicing, which makes you slightly cringe 'cause how are you supposed to get any better without practice? 

'You do you, dude. Goggles'll teach ya why you should practice.' You snicker, knowing the outcome of this battle. It's honestly pretty impressive that they manage to lose against Team Blue, they've definitely got some real skill behind that laid-back attitute. Aloha continues to amaze you will his aglitily and flexibility, there's no way you'll be able to get to his level without massive amounts of training.

And there it is, Pink team's Disco Ball Dance! Wow, they're all pretty agile! Better get some aiming-related training in if you ever plan on winning against these guys.

'Diver can break dance? Cool. And that's my cue to leave. Team Cyan, here I come!' 

You quickly hoist your bag over your shoulder and grab your weapon, and make your way to Walleye Warehouse to catch the end of Team Cyan's battle.

Splatoon 3 reveal trailer analysis: Inkling/Octoling customization options

Howdy friends! Today, I’ll be poring over the Splatoon 3 reveal trailer as well as the promotional screenshots to give you all a closer look at both new and old customization options for your player character. I’ll also be making another post covering all the new gear shown at a later date!

The first change is the removal of explicit gendered terminology, much like what we saw in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While just a change in wording it is a very welcome one that makes a series that already had a lot of LGBTQ fans more inclusive. Another little change is that Inkling 1 now has a small cut in their left eyebrow and I don’t know why they chose to add that detail, but it looks neat!

There are now a total of 9 different skin tones to pick from, compared to Splatoon 1 and 2′s 7.

The selection of eye colours have been significantly increased, going up from 14 in Splatoon 2 to 21. Additionally a lot of these new options are multi-coloured with some even having differently coloured pupils! From what we see in the trailer the additional colour takes the form of a ring of colour around the iris, but it’s always possible for it to be different depending on the chosen colour.

There are also a lot of new hairstyles, at least 4 for both inklings and octolings. Additionally, none of them are locked to specific models, unlike the options in Splatoon 2. I’ll be going more into hairstyles in just a bit, though!

The legwear selection has been overhauled, no longer being 5 separate choices for boys and girls respectively. Instead, we have a total of 9 different options, though I think the only truly new ones are the puffy pants in slot 3.

There’s also the matter of our Little buddy.

Little buddy also gets to be a part of the fun, having 7 different styles to pick from. It’s not a lot, but it’s not nothing.

It’s also worth mentioning that Little buddy has a significantly more detailed model than regular smallfry we can fight in Salmon Rush and thank god for that because

yeah let’s just move on.

Okay, so the reason I decided to save a more detailed look at hairstyles for later is that I wanted to take a closer look at all the new ones, so let’s do that now!

One of the more interesting details is that pretty much all the hairstyles now have this beige tints at the tips. This seems to be a specific design decision resulting from Splatoon 3 taking place in an arid setting. Remember to hydrate, folks!

First up, starting with inklings, is the new one-sided braid style, which greatly resembles the “hippie” style that we’ve seen in the previous games but with a split braid on on the left side.

Then there’s slicked-back style that makes me personally think of box braids. It’s a bit hard to see from the angle but they seem to be pulled together in a hanging ponytail in the back.

Then there’s this disheveled mess which looks the most like human hair out of anything we’ve seen in the series so far in my opinion. This one also has really dry, shriveled-looking tips, almost a bit burnt!

I’m not sure what to make of this one, honestly? It looks a bit like Splatoon 2′s Mush-cut, but goes all the way to the neck in the back. A weird one, if you ask me.

Going into octolings we now have two styles I could conveniently capture in a single picture. The left one is some kind of topknot or circular braid, while the right one is of course a fabulous pompadour.

After that we’ve got this wildly curly hairstyle, which is by far the longest hair available to octolings from what we’ve seen and probably my person favourite. I mean just look at those curls!

And finally, to round out the octolings we have this nice and simple wavy look that seems positively minimalist compared to some of the crazy new hairstyles we’ve seen so far.

In addition to these, four of the old inkling hairstyles and one octoling hairstyle can be seen at various points in the trailer, but I think we can safely expect all the old ones to return as well since it makes very little sense for the developers to take away options when the goal of character customization is letting the player express themself in as many different ways as possible.
