Deltarune really be one of those games that makes me feel like an absolute asshole for actually playing. (Besides OFF)

Like any times I do something stupid or dumb or mean I immediately apologize to Kris as if they could actually hear me.

I just go full on:

"I'm sorry Kris that you are stuck with me like this"

"So sorry for making you fight all the secret bosses although I suck at dodging!"

"Oh man I'm so sorry Kris that I just can't let you eat your food and basically let you starve out there! I SWEAR! EAT THOSE GOD DAMN PANCAKES TORIEL MADE I DON'T WANNA SEE YOU SUFFER ANY MORE THAN YOU ALREADY HAVE TO!!!"

Major Deltarune chapter 4 spoilers!

So I was looking through all the glass prophecies again, searching for a specific one because of something I had noticed in a specific scene in the game. (Might make a post about that later)

But instead I looked at the final prophecy panels again and I noticed a little something.

This is the second panel of the final 6 prophecy lines (including the one Susie broke) and the first of two that show the Delta Rune symbol falling apart.

What stuck out to me however was the way it was falling apart.

The center of the angel symbol is slashed with the wings drooping. But I also noticed the far left triangle, which is now closest to the bottom, is also slashed. While the other two triangles remain further above and complet.

Now the Delta Rune symbol appears a lot in this game. Both in the Light and Dark World. But there is this one instance that I just remembered.

Kris' room in the Dark World.

Ralsei made their carpet pattern the Delta Rune.

But not just that. The triangles are in the heroes respective colors.

The bottom one for Ralsei (also a fitting detail that he is the one with the upside down triangle since he is a Darkener and Susie and Kris are Lightners), the top right for Kris and the top left for Susie.

Now I'm not saying anything here... and knowing Toby it could literally mean anything. It could be a coincidence... or it could be intentional... but uh... yeah...

I won't lie. I fear a little for Susie.

Some Deltarune chapter 4 spoilers and rambles

With all signs given to us in chapter 4 it seems that Asgore will play a much bigger role than we originally thought.

And I hope so that goat dad will get more development (for the better!!) because he is so underappreciated and always villainized (both Undertale and Deltarune) and he doesn't deserve any of the shit both in game characters and irl fans are putting this man through.

(Yes he did kill 6 children in Undertale, I am aware of this fact. Yes he did bad things. But let's be real here: Toriel leaving him in that situation is kinda what lead to everything getting just worse. So she's at fault as well. To a certain extend. And don't get me started on her in Deltarune. MY MAN ASGORE DID NOTHING WRONG HERE!)

Please I just need more good content of goat dad being a good dad and trying to take care of his own god damn kid. Kris needs that after all that shit that went down in chapter 4.

I have no god damn clue how Toby managed to somehow make an even more horrifying story plot than the whole genocide route in UT, but boy he sure did it!

Fun fact about me: Undertale was what got me into art in the first place. And over the years these three (but especially Frisk and Chara) have gone through a lot of design changes in with my art.

Not just cause I got better with drawing, but also just the way I draw them.

Major Deltarune Chapter 4 Spoilers

And some theory crafting

So I decided to go through some of the early stuff from Chapter 4 seeing if there is anything more to pick up on. And I realized something.

Now I'm certain that I am far from being the first person to notice it, but Carol 100% has some kind of connection to the Knight and the dark world. What her goals are is beyond my understanding for now.

But there are a lot of things hinting at it.

1) Carol is heavily themed after cold temperatures and ice and freezing. What else do we know that is associated with that? The weird route!

2) Carol seems to have some weird obsession with "red hearts" as it is mentioned one by Noelle and then later the heart cushions are even described as "soul like". And not to mention:

3) The fact that when Carol says to Kris that they are always welcome, she says the word "YOU" in bold red letters. She doesn't mean Kris. She means us. The soul.

But while watching I noticed another detail that hints even more to Carol being in very deep with everything. And again I'm certain I'm not the first to notice. But I have yet to see another post about it.

Right after Susie takes the guitar out of Dress' room Kris gets a call from that mysterious voice and when we listen to the entire phone conversation, at the end the voice says the following:

We already know from the previous conversation that whoever this is clearly doesn't want Susie to have the guitar. And the moment Kris snitches they decided to take action and even say that they will come by.

A bit later this conversation happens with Noelle and Asgore about Carol. With Noelle claiming that her mother will take a while until she will be back home.

But then Asgore says this:

Which leaves Noelle shocked because as far as she knows Carol shouldn't be home yet.

And it just hit me then and there.

Just a few moments prior we have Kris on a call with a weird voice, claiming they will be right there. And immediately after Carol shows up, although she should. not. be. here.

Carol is the voice on the phone. She knows about the soul. She knows about the dark world. She knows what's going on.

And she is the one manipulating Kris.

She is the one behind it all.

Now I have no idea if she is the Knight directly. If Dess is the Knight. Or heck even Gaster.

What we do know is that she is in the know and she has a goal.

What that goal is? No idea.

But a tiny voice in the back of my brain wants to tell me that it all comes back to the legend and the prophecy. Because everyone knows it. And I bet you that there is something about her or her family mentioned in that prophecy and she either wants to encourage it to make it happen or tries to stop it. (But as we all know: trying to stop the prophecy from happening is part of the prophecy that makes it happen in the first place :3)

Either way Carol is the leader behind it.

Of course there must be 2 more key players in all of this (hence the code with the three symbols)

We know Carol is the pinecone and we know the other two symbols are a police badge and a the Delta Rune itself.

I say: Undyne also knows what's going on. I will say that by the time we meet her again in the dark world, she will know. Because she will also be in the know about it.

Which leaves the Delta Rune. I have no uses who that could be honestly. Maybe Asriel? Maybe someone from the church? Who knows!

Only time will tell.

Finished both chap 3 and 4 and it got me into the mood to draw my mentally ill blorbo.

God I kinda missed drawing Kris, really.

(Might even work up the motivation to redraw my Deltaswap designs at some point)

Having read "Traces Of Two Pasts" there was this one moment in Aerith's story when Tseng shows up for the first time at Elmyra's house.

And one thing that stood out to me (besides the fact that Tseng has long hair in this scene both in the OG and Remake. When he clearly should have had his tiny little ponytail. SQENIX!) is that Elmyra deadass told Tseng to his face that he "seems rather young to be doing this"

Which got me curious so I decided to look up their ages.

In FF7 Tseng is listed as 30 (his birth year being 1977) and we know Aerith is 22. Which makes them about 8 years apart.

In the previously mentioned scene Aerith is still 7 years old which means our boy Tseng over here is gOD DAMN 15 TO 16 YEARS OLD AT THAT POINT!

ELMYRA WAS SO RIGHT ON CALLING HIM OUT LIKE THAT.

WHO LET THAT BOY BECOME A TURK AT THAT AGE???

AND FOR THE LOVE OF- GIVE HIM THE SHORT HAIR!!

Small spoilers for "On The Way To A Smile" from FF7? I guess.

And also maybe "The Kids Are Alright" and "Traces of Two Pasts"?

(Mostly for a friend. Don't go snooping)

Honestly Denzel's chapter already made me tear up quite a lot. The depiction of the plate drop and then metero fall was quite a lot to handle.

I really felt bad for him and everyone involved.

But god to find out that Ruvie was Reeve's mom by the end of the chapter was such a gut punch!

Poor guy, just omg. Reeve! My man! You are already such a poor wet cat and now you had to learn how your mom died through this little kid who also has a lot of baggage to go through.

For anyone wondering: I only finished chapter 1 so far. I'm reading the next one soon but I already started out and I don't know how to feel about Marlene being described as Tifa's daughter?

It feels weird?

Like she was always Barret's daughter in my eyes. And while I am happy to see both Tifa and Cloud take on a parental role for her and especially for Denzel. Marlene just was and will be Barret's daughter in my eyes.

Also while reading "The Kids Are Alright" there was a lot happening I didn't expect.

Like Reno was going so god damn soft in this story and it was so clear he craved that family and siblings contact, a lot! Even Tseng mentioned how out of character it was for Reno.

And Kyrie calling them Reno-Rude had me laughing so hard. Even canon knows they are just together. Doesn't master if platonic, work or heck even romantic. They are a pair and you cannot separate them.

Also Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz not being the Remnants real names does make sense in a certain way, but at the same time it's also fucked that they are using Kyrie's dead Friends for that.

And yes I also read "Traces Of Two Pasts" and let me tell you, the last thing I had expected to witness in that story was for the Gainsborough family to turn out to be some kind of god damned Mafia???? Hello????? Elmyra is a lot more badass than I had assumed.
