MY TREASURE [PREVIEW]

MASTERLIST | RELEASE DATE: TBA

Synopsis: “The Princess is lost! Please return her to Scaleswind upon finding her. A reward is in place for those that do.” The description on here matched you perfectly too. ‘How did you get to a forest so far away from Scaleswind?’ They thought. Meanwhile heaps of questions filled your brain. ‘How did you end up on this ship, most likely Aurora? Why are in infamous Pirate Kings, as they call themselves, helping you? Most of all, who is this attractive man crouched in front of you?’

"You knew? You knew and you didn't tell me?" You push Hongjoong's hand off your shoulder and look at the rest of his crew. "Did you all know?" You exclaim loudly. Silence follows and your take a step back from them.

Yunho steps forward, by the look on his face you can tell he's about to offer some stupid explanation to try and make you feel better but when he goes to open his mouth you turn around. He ignores your dismissal and speaks regardless. "When we found you that day we decided to go to the closest town to get any supplies we would need while we cared for you, someone was handing out posters and you know-"

"No, I don't actually!" You shout, slightly turning you head to glare at the group.

"Please don't cry..." Seonghwa quietly asks, taken back by your outburst, however it falls on deaf ears as tears begin to silently fall, a technique you had mastered after spending nights in your room crying after large banquets and reunions.

He takes careful steps forward, your eyes follow his movements and once he's registered that you've acknowledged him he takes it as his chance to step in front of you.

Your hurt look makes his heart wrench and he almost verbally winces upon fully seeing it. "You..." You raise your hand and place a light punch on his shoulder. "Just when I though I found someone special it turns out you were using me as a bargaining chip," you continue to hit him "a pawn to get what you want."

Seonghwa takes each hit quietly, he knows he deserves it, he deserves much more than just these punches actually and he's well aware.

"It's not like that." He tries to reason.

"It was." You argue.

"Not anymore." He grabs your fist. "It's not like that anymore, I promise."

"Seonghwa, you're going to hand me over for a large some of money, what type of person does that?" You finally look at him in the eye and he shakes his head firmly. "I heard you all not even 10 minutes ago."

His face drains of colour, his breathing slows and he processes what you just said. He carefully lets go of your hand and places both on his on your shoulders, he leans down slightly to come face to face with you. Closer than you’ve been before.

“Yes, it was my idea. Yes, we were going to go through with it. No, some of us don’t want to anymore.” He tries to convince you.

You shake him off and step back. “I could turn you all in and have you beheaded in mere minutes and this is what I get?” You frown.

Silence fills the ship and you all just stare at each other for a moment, some of the other shipmates stop what they’re doing and stare too.

You shake your head and find your way back to your sleeping quarters.

“Captain, we told you this was a bad idea.” San is quick to argue.

In response he takes his hat off and looks to the floor.

“And you just let it happen.” Yeosang adds in.

“If you knew we were all building some sort of relationship with her, you included, you should have dropped it.” Jongho calmly speak for the team. “Especially you.” He states, gesturing to Seonghwa, before turning to leave.

Yeosang follows suit, utterly disappointed in people he considered family.

“You guys don’t understand. You understand nothing.” Hongjoong states, his pride getting in the way of admitting his wrong doings.

Mingi scoffs, leaning on the side of the ship, and the Captain glares at him harshly. “What?” He says informally, bringing Yeosang and Jongho’s attention back to the situation.

“You said when she came that we could do what we wanted with her, we wanted her here, and you said she should stay for her own safety. She opened up to us for God sake!” He shouts.

Hongjoong comes face to face with him. “Oh because you’re so perfect? Thinking about the team, are you? No you’re fighting in her corner, again!”

“She told us why she was in that forest in that day and you want to throw her back out there? You’re sick!” He matches his energy almost immediately.

His Captain drops his hat on the floor. “You don’t understand, we need the-”

Mingi becomes angrier at the reasoning. “We clearly don’t! You’re greedy! We can’t have one thing without you ruining it-”

Wooyoung cuts him off. “Just because you can’t hold a friendship, bare in mind a relationship, why should we suffer because of your shortcomings?”

Hongjoong halts as him comment and San quickly moves in to pick up his hat and hold him back.

The boys begin arguing between themselves, trying to get their leader to help you but the arguing continues. San telling people to just follow what he says, Wooyoung and Yunho, the people who found you, arguing to help you, Mingi firmly stating he’ll go if you do, Jongho telling people to be reasonable and Yeosang shouting for people to lower their voices. Seonghwa, the one who started all this, says nothing and is frozen in place. The shouting gets louder and louder and louder and Wooyoung’s comment rings in Hongjoong’s head.

“She’s breaking this team apart, we need the money, she has to go, that’s it! That’s final!” With that everything quiets down once more and he sighs, calming himself. “Seonghwa is the one who said we should do this, I didn’t plan for you to become friends, you don’t need friends in this world.”

“No, you don’t need friends.” Yeosang remarks.

“You all knew, you could have done something about it earlier.” He states.

Mingi rolls his eyes, “Ok, say we did, would you have called it off?”

Silence.

Nothing.

A look of betrayal comes across Mingi’s face, it’s a look Hongjoong wishes to never see again.

“Exactly. We didn’t tell her because we wanted to savour every moment with her.” He finishes.

Seonghwa looks at everyone, spending a few seconds to really take in how they feel just by looking at their face, something you had taught him when telling him about your time during ballroom dance classes, and he takes a few moments to breathe after looking at all of them.

Mingi is completely heartbroken, you didn’t have to look at him to know because his voice gave it away. San just wants everyone to calm down, he’s hurting and Seonghwa can’t pinpoint why. Yunho is clearly perplexed after being lied to, only noticing because Mingi pointed it out. Jongho is tired, of the shouting, being up all night, he just wants to be comforted, if you were here you would have given it to him in a heartbeat. Wooyoung is obviously angry, how could Hongjoong do this to you after how lovely you’ve been to them. Yeosang is confused, how could this happen and how could he let it go on for this long.

Hongjoong is… Seonghwa concludes he doesn’t know how he feels. He concludes that he doesn’t care how he is. He tried to call this all off so many times after suggesting it but his best friend thought they should do it regardless, so he did it out of greed that he no longer had, and that hurts him. A friend would listen to their best friend and let them be happy, and although he’s thankful Hongjoong is putting the team above everything else Seonghwa believes that you should come above everything else.

He thinks back to how you looked earlier. Angry, upset, distraught. Those are feelings he never wants you to feel. He never wants to see that look on your face ever again.

“I love her.” He states, drawing the attention of most people on the ship.

“I love her. This is my fault, I have to fix it.” He tells himself out loud.

"No shit." Yeosang's snide remark doesn't deter him however nor did the eye roll that followed.

Seonghwa quickly slips off the cotton jacket that had been keeping him some what warm while on the deck as quickly as he can and walks in the direction you left.

On the way he pushes the jacket into Hongjoong's hands as he leaves. They all watch him go, determined. He shoots down the stairs as fast as he can, trying to catch you before you fall asleep.

Hongjoong stands still, unsure of what to do with himself.

"Let us know when you're ready to officially leave and we'll get the map to Scaleswind to Yunho, Yeosang just has to figure out where we are." Jongho quietly states, lightly tapping Yeosang with the back of his hand to make him leave with him.

The pair go back to the storage room, shoulders hunched and looking completely dejected. Hurt, sad, lonely, but they understand where he’s coming from and that’s what hurts the most.

Mingi moves his gaze away from the them and squints his eyes at the silent Captain, his brows frowning in the process. He stands up straigther, trying to silently to intimidate him with his size in order to make him backdown although it was unrealistic. Yunho puts an arm around his shoulder and pulls him towards the quarter deck. "Stay with me while I'm behind the wheel, hm?" He tries to soothe his friend.

"I can’t." Hongjoong hears him mumble, but he still goes with him regardless.

San hands his hat back to him and slowly strokes his arm. They meet eyes and he realises he's not the only one hurting.

"Are you happy with your decision?" He whispers.

"I don't know." It stuns him, the all knowing leader, the one they all looked up to and aspired to be didn't know how he was feeling. Hongjoong who ruled with an iron fist was unsure of how he felt and for the first time in his life San doubted him.

Wooyoung sarcastically laughs, obviously hearing him. "All this and you don't even know. Wow, alright." He scratches his brow, unable to look at him.

The older one of the two offers him a sympathetic smile before turning to face his bunkmate. "Let's just go, we can make a list of supplies we'll need from Scaleswind." Reluctantly Wooyoung follows him to leave the deck.

Hongjoong looks down at the soft jacket in his hand and then down to the cuff of his sleeve. A white patch had been carefully sewn on top of a rip that had been there for a few months, causing him to barely wear his undercoat as to not rip it anymore resulting in him feeling colder than usual. That was all until you had sewn it back together for him in your own time after finding a small sewing kit hidden in a barrel on the ship, as a small way to repay him for letting you stay and keeping you away from home.

It had been so carefully hand sewn, it reminded him of a mothers stitch and it was something he had yearned for a while. As did your cooking, it was warm and he was always full. As did your determination to keep Aurora clean, it gave the crew one less job to focus on. As did your attentiveness when it came to the boys, making sure San wiped every speck of dried blood off of his body, bringing Yunho food and water while he spent nights behind the wheel, telling Jongho all about books you've read and promising to give him them when it's safer for you to go back.

"Call it off." He whispers.

The pair barely catch it and turn around to face him.

"We set up a meet spot to trade, call off the plan on our end and we can rework it." He states, looking them dead in the eye.

"What?" They question, confused.

"We can use her as bait, draw them in, get the reward and she can come with us again, it never said we had to give her back, just find her." He says much more confidently, much louder too as Yunho seems to catch what he says and tells Mingi.

San and Wooyoung smile at each other, elated.

"I'll tell Jongho not to bother and y-" Wooyoung starts.

"And I'll get those two and we can rework it all, as a team." San finishes.

"Yunho don't move, I’ll be back, wait for me!" Mingi shouts and Hongjoong sniffles a laugh at his determination.

Determination to keep you with them, keep you safe and Hongjoong realises that he may have that determination too. Maybe it was better to keep you around, it gave all of them something to look forward to.

You sit yourself in the quiet and peaceful for a bit looking up at the stars.. Occasionally looking at the darkness of the ocean below from your viewpoint.

You hear the crunching of the ground in the distance

“Sorry I kept you y/n.. I’m back” he says and sits beside you again.

…

Meanwhile back in camp dinner is ready, seonghwa tells wooyoung to go get both you and yunho so he goes to yunho's tent.. He's not there and he visits yours. You of course are also not there.. hmm

He returns to where everyone is sat around a mini fire and explains to seonghwa

“Hwa.. yun and y/n.. they're not here” he tells the elder.

Seonghwa with a slight frown begins “what do you mean they're not-”

Before he can even finish that sentence, Yunho's bursting through the clearing, panting heavily. He's covered in muck and is bleeding from his forehead

“He got her.. Ha.. he got her” he says between pants trying to catch his breath.

“Who?”

He looks hongjoong right in the eye

He takes a shaky breath

“The other me”

…

“Sorry I kept you y/n.. I’m back” he says and sits beside you again.

“Took you long enough” you laugh and turn to look at him

Yunho’s already looking at you. there’s something strange about him, he drapes the blanket over your shoulders and you pull it tighter to yourself, thanking him.

You sort of glance at his hands and you notice his knuckles are kinda busted and bloody..

You ask him about it to which he brushes it off as ‘nothing to worry about’ that should’ve been your first red flag..

Brushing it off though you take the telescope looking through it looking at the stars

“Hey yun.. What's that star there??” you ask

“Hmm? Let me see” and he takes the telescope from you

“A-aah that one? Hmm, isn't that the north star?” he says only you know that's not the star at all.. Alarm bells go off in your head as you quickly stand

“Shouldn't we be getting back? I-i'm sure Hwa’s finished making the supper” yunho stands as you say this, your nerves clearly showing

“What? But y/n.. Don’t you wanna watch the stars with me?” he asks but when you only continue to walk backwards he sighs and bends down picking up his hat? And placing it on

“You.. you’re not yunho” you speak.

“But I am,” he replies, walking closer to you. You shake your head in disapproval.

“Not my Yunho” your back hits a tree behind you.

He laughs, finally reaching you, placing his hand next to your head on the tree.

“We'll, aren't you a smart one? Hmm?” He smiles sickly. “Don’t worry, this won’t hurt a bit.. The poison might though” he says. And before you know it he’s stabbing your side with a small blade, your hands fly to your side, blood staining everything. “W-why?” your voice is small, you suddenly feel dizzy, your head falling into his chest, before your legs are giving way and you fall to the ground and the last thing you see before your vision going black is him towering over you, a smile on his face.

…

“AND YOU LEFT HER ALONE!!??”

“Joong.. Don't shout at him..” seonghwa tries to calm him down

“Do you think for a moment that if I knew they were here too that I'd leave her by herself!!?? I didn't know hongjoong!!'' Yunho tries to also calm the captain down yet at the same time argues back..

sprinting to the cliff area where they hope you're still there.. But they're not so lucky once they come to the clearing at the cliff.

Suddenly the peacefulness of the overlook is shattered with yells of your name. Each pirate screaming your name hoping for an answer or something, anything to know you're okay.

Luck again isn't so lucky…

There's a gasp..

“Captain!!”

Everyone turns to face wooyoung and their hearts drop, he stands there holding a dagger with blood staining the blade.. It's fresh.

“Fuck”

…

Slowly your eyes blink open.. You hiss due to the sudden light, you try to sit up but the sharp pain in your side stops you from doing so, your hands shooting to hold the area.

There's a chuckle.

“Careful there.. Don't sit up yet stupid, you got a nasty stab wound ‘ere plus i doubt the poisoning is any better” you hear the faint scratching of quill on parchment

Your eyes drift around the room until they land on the familiar figure sitting on the seat just a little ways from the bed you lay on.

“H-hongjoong?” you ask

He chuckles again and looks up from what he’s doing.

“Yes, precious? How’re you feelin? D’you need me to go get San, actually i will, he should give you a once over just to be sure” he says standing from his chair. Stretching his limbs with a pop. beginning to make his way to the door.

Slowly your memories of the pas incident come back to you all at once

“Y-yunho.. He stabbed me..” you say in disbelief.

He stops.

“Yeah, he did precious” he looks at you “i’ll explain it to you once san checks over you.. You've been knocked out for 3 days” he says whilst also telling you he'll be back soon.

San checks over you whist hongjoong observes quietly.

“so ?” he asks once san begins to pack his med-utensils away.

“She should be fine.. Just a little groggy and maybe a little out of it whilst the last effects of the poison gets out of her system and then of course pain where the stab wound is as it heals but for now it seems to be healin’ well, stitches are doing their job” he says and gives you a small smile.

Hongjoong seems to sigh from relief.

“Good, thank you san, you may go.” he said and said male exited the room.

He pulls up a chair to sit in front of you.

“So.. d’you think you're ready to know what happened and why?” he asks

You look into his eye

“You’re gonna have to tell me so I'm not afraid of yunho”. You say.

He nods his head slowly. “Very well”

“It may be a lot to take in but you need to know the truth.. No more secrets..

The yunho who stabbed you looks identical to our yunho right? That's because he is. Each of us, Seonghwa, yeosang. San, mingi, woo and jongho and I included all have someone who's more so an identical copy even you.. Only those imposters aren't from this world precious.. They're from another universe much much different from this one, they call themselves halateez. their leader; the other me. He’s psychotic. He was madly in love with the you in that universe, you were his everything. He’d do anything for you or her sorry.. But the creatures that roamed that earth took her from him. And love? He’ll do just about anything to get you-her back. That's why i.. that we need the cromer device to send them back to that universe. Only when we were saving you from the trap they set.. They stole our map straight to the location of the cromer and we need that back before they try to steal you away from us.” he says and you try your best to take it all in

“wait wait- so let me get this straight. another version of you from a whole other dimension is trying to practically kidnap me and take me back to his dimension because the other me whom he was in love with or dating died??”

“Pretty much love… yes.” he says. Taking your hand in his and gently rubbing the skin.

You sigh out. “ and you didn't think to tell me this when i saw that creepy you in his creepy outfit that day in that town!!?” you see his eye slightly twitch

“I didn't think it was necessary love.. We had the map. Wasn't expecting you to get stabbed and for the map to be stolen.” he says.

“We need it back.. But do you think you're able to come with us to steal it back?? We need to distract their captain somehow” he adds with a smirk on his face.

You nod. “I’ll do it”

He smiles standing.

“Good. we leave at nightfall”

…

The forest is quiet.. Maybe a bit too quiet as you make your way towards the camp where the other crew takes refuge.

Hongjoong raises his hand once you get to a small overlook everyone stops in their tracks.

Getting low to the ground to avoid being spotted he motions you over. You get into the same position. His hand resting on your lower back.

He points to one of the larger tents. “That one’s the captain's tent. You should find the map in there somewhere. We’ll be keeping watch from up here and if we see them coming back we’ll give a signal or i’ll come get you precious don't worry” he says seeing the worried look on your face. “I'll walk you close enough before returning here, okay. Plan. go!” he says and everyone gets in their positions. And you walk beside hongjoong through the trees down the slope a little ways.

“This is where I leave you precious,” he says as you nod your head at him.

“I’ll get your map back don’t worry joong” and you begin to walk away.

He quietly gasps air getting stuck in his throat as you walk away

“please .. please be safe.” he says with desperation in his voice.

You eventually get to the edge of the forest before the camp, you eye your surroundings.. No ones there and it's quiet.. Again.. Too quiet. It's just a straight beeline towards the tent but it seems too easy. You walk slowly but quickly and you reach the opening of the tent. Turning back you look up to the overpass and see them watching intently hongjoong lifting his hand to give you a thumbs up as the go ahead.

You peep into the tent slightly.. Empty.. Thank god. Taking a deep breath you enter.. The fabric flaps falling shut behind you.

The tent is dimly lit by lanterns, a makeshift table in the centre and crates and chests all around areas of the tent. You let out a deep breath, hopefully it won't be too difficult to find the map, and so you begin your search.

You go through papers, books and parchments anywhere where you think the map could be hidden or being kept.

You're going through a chest shifting through the contents and you stumble across a tube with a symbol of an A in a red circle and a drawing of an.. hourglass?? That must be it!

turning the tube you see very faint markings of what seems to be cromer written on the tube. You stuff the map inside your little pouch bag.

“y/n..?” you hear your name being called with a gasp

You turn to face the voice..

“Is.. is that really you?” hongjoong says.. No! It's the other hongjoong.

You whip out the small dagger attached to your belt on the side.

“S-stay back!” you aim the blade towards him.

Immediately he throws his hands up to show you he's no threat..

“y/n.. Come on..” he says “it's me.. Put the knife down, you don’t need to use it.” he says, stepping closer.

“Stop” you say more firmly “don’t come any closer.”

He takes a breath.”okay.. Okay. just relax” he says.

“Me.. relax!? I know who you are..”you say.

Hongjoong looks at you, confusion flashing on his face

“You’re sick! Do you really think just cause i look like your dead lover i'd go with you and fall in love with you? You really are psychotic.” you say venom lacing your words.

“y-y/n what?” he says in shock.

There's another laugh.

“That's right love.. Tell him straight”

His head whips towards the sound of the voice

“You.” he says disgust drowning his words

He ignores him “did y’get it love?” he asks and you nod slightly tapping your pouch.

He smirks “good.. Lets go love” he says motioning you towards him “don’t worry he’d be stupid to try something on you” he says opening the tent and making his way out. You follow him

“Woah- d’you really think im just gonna let you leave with that psycho!?” the other hongjoong says and grabs your wrist. You immediately rip your wrist from his hold and plunge the dagger into his shoulder.. Deep. “don't touch me!” you shout at him

He stumbles to the ground letting out a breath of pain, hand immediately going to his shoulder blood dripping from the wound staining his shirt and hand knife still protruding from his shoulder.

He looks up at you tears brimming his eyes

“y-y/n” he sobs out, in shock.

You do nothing but glance over him in disgust and leave with hongjoong. The tent flaps closing over once more.

…

With the map back in your possession, the crew make it back to the ship and begin the preparations for the journey to the island which holds the cromer.

Everyone scurries across the deck, hongjoong barking orders left and right before he shouts for the sails to be dropped and then the ships setting sail to the horizon.

It's just days of ocean and water as far as you can see and you’ll be honest you’re getting bored and have taken to wandering the ship. Bothering the crew when doing their duties..

You started with seonghwa bothering him when he was manning the wheel in hongjoong’s absence and continuing your bothersome ways following him to the kitchen as he prepared lunch for everyone to which he quickly sends you on your way to hopefully lessen his headache..

You then move to bothering yeosang in his study, you end up distracting him so much from his work that he also sends you on your way, you knew better than to disturb san so you avoided entering his medical study.. You find mingi sharpening blades to which you tried to help him but you just couldn't get the hang of it.. Sighing dejectedly you put the sharpening tool down and thank mingi for at least trying to help you with your boredom..

You can’t find woo anywhere and there's no way you’d try to find jongho after the last encounter on the beach.. So you go towards hongjoong’s room or the captain's quarters you should say.

You knock on the door and here a light “come in”.. pushing open the door you see him just like the first time.. Sat hunched over the table seemingly hard at work.. Only this time instead of getting mad at you he smiles upon seeing you

“Ah.. y/n love come in” he says looking briefly back at the papers on the desk.

“A-are you busy?” you ask him

He sighs out

“I am love yes..” before he could continue apologising for disrupting his work and say you’ll take your leave, before you can even open the door he grabs your wrist gently tugging it from the handle and slightly pinning you to the door

“Never too busy for you though.. love” he says in a hushed tone.

It would be lying to say your heart did not race at his words, your breath getting caught in your lungs.. A fact that even he doesn't miss a soft smile graces his lips before he pulls himself from you

“Crew tells me you've been bored today,” he says, making his way to a smaller table in his room.

You sort of groan at his words.. Of course they'd tell him you were being a pest today..

“Tell me my love, d’ye know how to play?” he asks, gesturing to the wooden chess board that lays upon the table.

“I do..” you respond, making your way toward the table, having played with your grandfather countless times back home when visiting them.. You sit on the little stool at the table.

Hongjoong also sits down

“Wanna challenge me?” he asks, tilting his head. “Winner gets the other to do something for them? loser has to do it, no questions asked?” he adds, hand outstretched for a deal

You hesitate at first but agree.. Surely it won't be too bad if he wins..

You take his hand in yours and shake. And begin the game: moving the first pawn on the checked board.

…

“Checkmate love~” hongjoong says as his queen corners your king.. No place you move will save him, you sigh.

“I win” he says quietly, taking your king piece and laying it on its side.

You peer up at him through your lashes.

“Okay.. what do you want me to do”

He seems to be in thought for a moment before looking directly at you.

“I'll keep it for another time” he says cheekily

You look at him, pout on your face “when?” you ask

“Ah ah.. Believe me.. You’ll know when I use it” he says tutting.

And you’re left wondering what it'll be he’ll ask you to do for him

…

5 days. 5 days is how long it takes for you to arrive at the island located on the map.

In those 5 days you found yourself getting closer to hongjoong, of all people.

his sweet words and actions worming their way into your heart. From the way he tucks loose strands of your hair behind your ear when it's windy on deck, to his subtle glances watching you. Even purposely letting you win at your chess games!! You’ve been getting very close to one another. And now was one of those times,

Hongjoong sits sort of spread on a chaise and you rest on his chest. Him with a book in hand as you both quietly read it together in silence. Just enjoying eachothers company.

The silence is disturbed by seonghwa knocking and flinging the door open. You sit up from your spot on hongjoong. Startled by seonghwa’s intrusion.

Hongjoong bookmarks the spot in the book and closes it over then looking at seonghwa with an annoyed expression on his face

“What is it Hwa?” he asks the elder glaring at him for interrupting your time.

“Apologies captain but, we've finally arrived” he replies to him sort of bowing his head in respect.

Hongjoong is quick to stand, you see him shake slightly.

“Then let us go” he says to the elder taking your hand in his as the three of you leave the room.

Walking on the main deck of the ship everyone is in a rush grabbing what they need to start the journey on the island. You can't help but worry..

Hongjoong still holding your hand notices this, rubbing his thumb gently over your hand

“Don’t worry love.. We’ll get the cromer and send them back to their universe don’t you worry. After all they will come to us soon.” he says and you’ll be honest it does nothing to ease your worries especially as he told you they’ll be coming here.. After what their yunho did to you.. You can't even look at your yunho the same..

Still though you smile up at the red haired man and nod your head.

“Okay! Everyone pack your travel packs. We'll be going into an intricate cave dungeon system so make sure you pack rations, a blanket and pillow at least. The last thing we need is people getting lost down there and dying” hongjoong announces to the crew.

He hands you your own pack. “‘Ere you can use this one love,” he says.

Everyone swings their packs onto their backs and with hongjoong in the front you all exit the ship. Completely unaware of the other ship on the other side of the island.

…

Walking through the dense jungle is sweltering with the heat slowly seeping through the trees, some of the crew complaining about stopping and setting up camp here all to which hongjoong bats back that you won't stop till you reach the cave system.

You would say it takes roughly another 4-ish hours of walking with the crew complaining before hongjoong gives in and lets them set up a camp while the 9 of you continue to the caves.

As you continue to walk through the forest the silence is broke

A loud ‘ewwww’ breaks the silence, you all turn towards the culprit.

Wooyoung stands wiping slime…?? Off his shoulder..??

Slowly you all look up.. The sight is frightening. A humongous arachnid hangs from its web just above you.

Hongjoong is quick to grab you and push you behind him. Every male pulling out his sword or pistol.

The arachnid lowers itself to the ground hissing at you, pincers snapping.

Hongjoong pushes you to a bush and tells you to stay low and rushes to join the others currently swinging blades and the occasional blast of a pistol.

The beast hisses as it gets winded. Its blood seeping out in sludges to the ground. It lunges towards a few of them scratching some of them

Its legs are soon cut off and then a cutlass goes straight through its cephalothorax killing the beast as it sighs out its last breath.

Each male pants trying to catch his breath. And hongjoong instantly comes over to you, giving you a once over to make sure you're really okay. To which you immediately say that you are.

“I am joong.. Honestly just a bit scared that there's creatures like that on this island” you explain to him

He instantly pulls you into his arms.

“Don't worry love.. No matter the creature, if you're in danger I will always be there to save you. I'll never let you get hurt”

Pulling away from you he turns to the other seven males.

“Okay. let's get a move on, we need to reach the cave before dark” he exclaims.

…

The walk to the cave is steep and exhausting, you all audibly gasp sighs of relief once the cave entrance comes into view.

Lighting lanterns you all prepare to enter hongjoong says one last thing.

“Remember, we stick together.. We don't know exactly what's down here.. Possibly more arachnids.. But we find a spot to hunker down that's safe to get some rest before searching for the cromer” he says and with that you all start your journey into the cave system.

The cave is thankfully cool but the channels travel long.. Some ending randomly, some have deep drops. Thankfully you or hongjoong has a map of the exact route to the cromer location.

You arrive at a wider area with running water off to the side after scouting around. The place is deemed safe enough to rest in, the water checked and also approved to be safe for drinking by san.

There are a few tunnels that end abruptly along the wall so you bunker into those and use them to sleep.

There's a small fire made to heat up some soup for supper.

Once it's been heated you all sit and eat in silence only it's not an uncomfortable silence it's sort of comforting.

Bowls empty and bellies fed some retreat to their spots to try and relax and some going to rest and sleep, there's light murmurs of conversations as some discuss things with each other and jongho’s the first to take watch.. Just in case..

You watch as hongjoong speaks with him. The younger nodding to whatever the captain had told him.

Hes when walking towards you, you quickly turn your head as if you hadn't just been watching their conversation.

Hongjoong laughs and extends his hand towards you.

“Come.. I wanna show you something love..” he says and you take his hand.

He pulls you up to stand and still with your hand in his grasp begins walking away from the little make-shift base

“Should we really be leaving?” you ask him in a worried tone..

“Don’t worry.. I told jongho.. We’ll be fine besides I told you, I won't let anything bad happen to you” he smiles.

He leads you further into the system of the cave deeper into the tunnels and farther away from the others., that is until you come to a deadend the roof at a slant getting lower to the ground as it goes farther. ?

He lets go of your hand and what looks to be a deadend isn't. He jumps and pulls himself up the hole in the ceiling and extends his hands down for you

“Come on love” he says and you take his hands and he uses his strength to pull you up.

Coming through the hole you're greeted by a stunning sight, glittering amethysts and other precious stones litter the walls of this hidden room. Walking farther into the room you admire the pretty gems

You gasp in awe “do you like it?” he asks his voice quiet from the distance between you

“H-hongjoong this is- this.. Wow.. it's so pretty” you say walking farther.

“Hmm, I'm glad,” he says. You jump startled from how close the voice is.

Turning around you see him standing right behind you now.

You stumble backwards slightly and he gently grabs your wrist to prevent you from falling.

He walks you back until you hit one of the patches of smooth stone in the room. He's close.. Maybe a little too close.

You place your hands on his shoulders as if to keep him there. Only it does nothing as he leans in resting his forehead on your own.

“Not as pretty as you though” he whispers

Your breath gets stuck in your throat as it hitches

“Joong..” you breathe out just as quietly.

“y/n..” he does just the same, closing his eyes as if to savour the moment.

His hands now rest on your hips, he pulls away from your forehead slightly

“Kiss me” he breathes out and before you can respond, his lips are on your own as he traps you. Your hands slip from in front of his shoulders to wrap around his neck as you kiss the redhead back, an action that has him pulling you closer to him.

“y/n..” “my love..” “my precious..” he says between kisses and when he finally stops you’re both breathless.

“This.. isn't what i wanted to show.. You” he breathes out.

Your face scrunches up in confusion.. It's so cute that it has him kissing your nose.

“Come..” he says, presenting you his hand again. And of course you take it.

And again you're off through the opening in that room you enter a wide open space on the other side.. Water flows around and a large tree graces the other side, stepping stones lead to the area of grass the tree rests on, vines hang from the ceiling, fruits hang from the branches. The opening in the roof lets the natural moonlight inside.

Hongjoong smiles seeing your face light up again at the sight.

He gently pulls you across the stones and you make your way to the tree on the other side

You look around the area once at the other side and take in the view.

“Hongjoong this is stunning.. Thank you for bringing me here to see this” you thank him

Arms wrap around your waist and a weight is placed on your shoulder as he rests his chin there.

“I'm glad you like them my love” he hums a kiss placed on the side of your neck. It has a shiver running up your spine.

He turns you in his hold, arms still around you..

“y/n.. Precious. I love you” he says

Your heart feels to have stopped.

You open your mouth to speak.

He shakes his head.

“You don’t need to say anything right now.. Just.. will you let me prove how much i love you. precious?” he says.

Looking in his eyes you can see the determination and honesty swirling in them, so placing a kiss on his lips whilst cupping his cheeks

“Yes.. please joong..” you whisper against his lips

Pulling you close he places more soft kisses on your lips trailing them to your neck.

“May i..?” he whispers tugging slightly at your shirt, you nod

He slowly begins to unbutton the buttons of your shirt in between kisses and then slips your shirt off the material falling to the ground.

He trails the kisses down to your collarbone. As you try to discard his own shirt.

Scars litter his chest, your hands ghost over them.

He pulls you down to rest on the blanket spread on the grass. He kneels before you, hands reaching for and tugging off your boots. Before kicking off his own. His hands slither up your thighs as he places desperate kisses on your neck and down your chest. As he pushes you to lay down

His hands hook beneath the waistband of your trousers, trailing kisses further down your body as he slowly pulls them off..

“So pretty love..” he whispers, admiring you then leaning over to place another soft kiss on your lips. Your hands reach to tug him back

“So are you..” you lift your head to place a similar kiss on his own lips, which has him smiling.

“Thank you love.. But nothing can compare to how pretty you are” he says, sliding between your thighs.

“I love you so, so much love” he whispers again tears brim his eyes as they fall over and run down his cheeks.. Clear tears this time..

Your eyes gently flicker open.. The moon still shines in the opening above as you in the opening. Your head rests on the softness of hongjoong’s chest, you can hear the soft thumping of his heart beneath the surface. Ever so gently you sit up so not to disturb the man, you look over his face.. He looks so peaceful as he sleeps. You place your hand on his cheek and gently run your thumb over his scar with a soft smile on your face, eyes closing over slightly. Sighing in content, you look back at him, you cannot help the small gasp that escapes as you move away from the sleeping redhead..

The faint red line of his scar.. smudged looking to your thumb you see the same red slightly staining the skin.. This hongjoong.. Has no scar.. Surely he’s not been lying about having a scar after all this time.. No.. he couldn’t even the last time he cried he cried..b-blood.. This hongjoong didn't.

Your heart begins to beat erratically in your chest. You feel as though any second you could pass out. You stand to your feet grabbing the extra blanket and holding it close to your naked form and if to solidify and mock your mistake and realisation.. Said man tosses on his side in his sleep and there, clear as day on his shoulder blade.. ‘HALA’ permanently resides there in black ink.

You stumble back at the realisation the room spins, your legs give way and you brace yourself expecting to hit the ground..

Only.. you don't. You fall into something soft.

“oh.. darlin’..” a voice quietly whispers out.

“Yeosang, get them out of here.” Seonghwa gasped and Hongjoong wanted to shout, to rush forward and pry those fingers from around his lover’s throat even if he had to sever them one by one. Of course it was now that Hongjoong's pain would become too much, the strain of his near fall bringing him to his knee. He grit his teeth and strained his muscles, begging his body to push beyond its human limitations, to let him close the gap and save his treasure. Weren’t humans supposed to be capable of greatness in dire situations? “Seonghwa-” “Now, Yeosang! Make sure they’re safe, take them home.” “Seonghwa!” Hongjoong hadn’t realized he shouted until the name left his lips, a desperate plea for what he didn’t know. All he had left was hope. He watched as Seonghwa’s eyes turned to him, glassy with both tears and pain, the corners pinched as sweat beaded down his face. Hongjoong still thought he looked impossibly beautiful.

hongjoong stands, placing his hands in the table, slightly leaning forward.

“I have some news I want to share” he says

your breath gets stuck in your throat. He doesn't know, does he??

“i have progress of our voyage for the Cromer.” he adds

everyone now gives him their full attention.

“thanks to sedna here, we have our heading. it'll be a long, dangerous journey but I know we as a team, a crew. can manage it!! we will get the cromer before they do”

You don't know how long, it’s most likely been days that have passed. All you can see from the horizon is the ocean and then more ocean.. Water as far as the eye can see.

Crew are starting to feel as though this mission is lost, that you were all lost on the sea, some starting to get bored out of their minds.

You sigh

“What’s wrong?” a voice asks

You close your book over

“Are we ever going to reach wherever it is we’re trying to get to yeosang?” you ask

He bookmarks his own book and lets out a small laugh.

“I’d tell you to be patient but I feel we’re all getting a bit restless these days, we’ll get there all in good time y/n.. Now let's continue reading shall we?” he replies and then proceeds to open his book to continue reading.

Deciding to do the same you reopen your own book and continue reading.

…

You toss and turn in your bed, unable to get some sleep. You still can't help the thoughts that pass through your mind. Tossing off the covers you pull your boots on and make your way through the ship.

It's mostly quiet as you walk down the corridor, the only thing to be heard being the waves crashing outside the ship and the slight creak of the wooden floorboards, the rest of the crew getting some kip while they can.

Walking up the stairs you slightly shiver from the nip from the cold air, rubbing your arms you take no notice of your surroundings and make your way to your spot you like to rest on at the front of the bow.

Leaning on the wood, you look out into the dark, there's not much visibility bar the light coming from the little lantern hanging down but when you look up, you’re in awe. The stars are out and shining bright. They look so… pretty. You wish you had a camera so you could capture this moment

Still gazing at the stars above you don't catch the sound of someone walking up behind you

“D’you like stargazing?”

You flinch turning to the voice

He laughs slightly “sorry didn't mean to scare ya” he says leaning beside you

You finally take in your surroundings you notice hongjoong is at the wheel and that's pretty much everyone who’s still awake

You turn back to him, he’s just looking at you intently

He gestures to the stars with his head and asks again.

“D’you like stargazing. y/n?” he asks.

“I do.. Do you like the stars, Yunho?” you ask him.

He smiles

“I do, being a lookout i get to see ‘em pretty much every night, i know a lot of the constellations too but what ‘re you doing awake at this time.. Can’t sleep??” he asks

You shake your head

He looks away for a second, then walks away a little bit and hold out his hand for you to take.

“Follow me”

You take ahold of his hand and he and he begins to lead you up the stairs past hongjoong at the helm to where the mizzen mast stands.

“Ladies first” he gestures to the rope ladder

And you climb up till you get to the barrel-like section at the top and yunho climbs in after you.

“It’s easier to see the stars from up here” he says and blows the candle out from the little lantern that's hung up in the mast so that he or wooyoung can have a little light when they need it. And then he sits beside you on the ground and tucks his legs up to his chest just like you.

Looking up you can see all the pretty twinkling lights and you’re in awe of them all.

A light tap on your shoulder brings you back to the man sitting beside you, and you listen and watch intently as he points out various stars and constellations and explains some of them to you

…

You shiver slightly rubbing your arms as a chill wind blows through you in the mast.

“Hmm cold?” yunho asks, tilting his head to the side a little.

You nod “ a little bit.. Yeah”

He shuffles about a bit in the space and opens the basket sitting in the corner, and pulls out a worn out greyish blue blanket

“ ‘ere “ he wraps the blanket around you and you pull it tighter around yourself

“it does get pretty chilly up here so there's a blanket in every basket for the three masts just in case you need that information” he laughs a bit and he sits back into his spot beside you on the ground and he wraps one of his arms around you pulling you closer to his side

“See that one ‘ere.. thats pleiades its-” he stops seeing you are now fast asleep he breathes out a laugh and then pulls you closer to his chest and then proceeds to fall asleep not long after you

…

You’re drawn out of your slumber from people talking in hushed tones, one of which you know to be yunho but the other you can't tell, still being in a haze.. The other person leaves.

“Yunho..” you voice out.

He hums

“What's the prettiest star youve seen?” you ask randomly still in your sleepy haze while wrapping your arms around his waist snuggling into him

“Hmm well… it's not actually a star but the aurora’s the most beautiful thing i've seen in my life time”

You smile and shut your eyes again resting your head on his chest

“I'd like to see that too” you say as you slowly drift off

Yunho rubs your back as you do

“I'll take you to see it.. Don't worry”

…

Your eyes flicker open and you stretch bones clicking in the process. Scanning your surroundings you see you’re still up in the mast with yunho still wrapped up in his arms as you shuffle around he stirs in his sleep, hands coming up to rub the sleep from his eyes.

“Hmm good morning” he says, his voice still laced with sleep.

You reply to him and the both of you begin to make your way to the kitchen to get something to eat before everyone else.

You grab a bread roll as does yunho as well as an apple that yunho reluctantly lets you cut up yourself with your history of knives.

“Thank you.. By the way” you say as you begin to nibble on your food “for last night.. I had a good sleep thanks to you, yunho” you smile.

“Don’t worry about it, m’glad you could get some rest”

You both sit and continue to eat your food in the peaceful silence quite content.. Until it wasn't- more of the crew came piling in to grab their own breakfast before getting to work and it's then that yunho leaves you to go do his own chores around the ship again. And you go and join yeosang again.

…

“So where is it exactly we’re going yeo??” you ask him

“Well we’re going here to this docking town to restock supplies then we’ll head east or ‘tis where captain says we need to go” he explains pointing places out to you on the map “not to worry though, we’re almost there i'd assume we’d be arriving to the dock at any minute”

And he was right, you were in fact pulling up to the dock but not 20 minutes later.

Most of the crew started flowing out the ship, stretching. Their feet finally on firm solid ground. Standing on the dock you watch in silence as members of the crew converse with the workers on the dock, seonghwa wagering with the man how many pieces of gold would grant the amount of time the ship could stay docked

In the distance you see hongjoong talking with sedna about what.. You don't know but it looks to be a serious conversation. The conversation stops and he seems to make his way back over to you all and he speaks.

“I want everyone to stock up on supplies they may need and rations for the ship as for seonghwa, mingi, jongho, yunho, wooyoung and san you all come with me.. y/n you stay with yeosang” he says then he claps his hands together.

“Okay. everyone get to work” he says and he and his little team head off.

…

And so you walk through the streets of the town with yeosang carrying some of the things he buys to help him carry them back. You’re bored out of your mind, it’s been a good few hours since hongjoong and the crew left to god knows where. And you wont lie, you’re curious so… you pester yeosang about it. To which he replies something about a mini mission for the actual mission..just boring stuff

“Hey y/n.. I'm gonna nip into this last shop real quick. Can you wait out here for a second?” yeosang asks you, you nod watching him through the window of the store after he enters.

Bored you end up zoning out looking in the opposite direction, lost in your own thoughts.

Something catches your attention, as you stare your features contort in confusion

What.. is.. that..!?

You must've been staring for a long time as you’re brought out from your trance from yeosang calling you

“y/n… you good?” he asks, looking worried.

You hum

“Hmm.. yeah.. I thought I saw..” you look back, the thing is no longer there “nothing.. nevermind ..”

And then the both of you head back to the ship.

…

The others didn't get back to the ship until a long while after you, some covered in cuts and other bruises.. Just what was the ‘mission’

San ushers those with cuts to his study to clean the wounds up the rest follow hongjoong to his cabin and you’re left in the dark.. Not included. So you just help the other crew carry the stock onto the ship

…

With the ship now stocked and ready for the vast journey on the water you can finally start the main voyage.

The main 8 currently gathered in the captains cabin, map sprawled out on the table as hongjoong points to the locations on the map and explains in detail the route to be taken for this quest.

They all end up piling out of the foom after a few hours

You sit in your cabin seemingly lost in deep thought

“A penny for yer thoughts y/n.. What's got yer mind so busy” there's a knock from the doorframe.

Being drawn from your thoughts your head snaps to the doorway.

Hongjoong leans on the frame, sleeves of his white button shirt rolled up and his jacket discarded, being held in his hands.

You frown.. Thinking about it some more

“It’s nothing” you brush it off

He sighs

“May i?” he asks, gesturing to your room, you nod and he enters placing his jacket on your bed and taking a seat next to you.

“It cant be nothin if its got you frowning like that.. Did somethin happen??” he asks slight worry on his face

“No.. nothing happened per say.. I just.. I don't know.. I saw something but i don't know if my brain was playing tricks on me”

“Whatd ye see? Maybe I can help if I know what it was?” he pries some more..

You turn to face him

“I thought i.. When you and the others went on that little mission.. When i was shopping with yeosang.. i .. i thought i saw you.. Only it wasn't you?? I don't know.. you had different clothes on and.. All black and a black hat too” you laugh “i’m going crazy right?” you ask him

Only a sinking feeling comes to your chest as you see his face, its pale as if the colours been drained out

“y/n.” he begins “if you see that person again or someone similar. I need you to tell me or one of the others.. Can you do that for me?” he asks

You nod.

He shakes his head “no. i need you to say you’ll do it. Promise me you will”

You tilt your head in confusion

“I will” you say

“Good” he starts to grab his jacket and stands to leave the room

“But hongjoong,who or what was that?” you ask

“You don’t need to know that right now” and with that he leaves the room.

…

The ship comes to a stop with a sudden jerk, an island in the close distance.

Hongjoong stands giving commands as the crew rushes about the ship preparing to leave the ship and get to the piece of land on the longboats.

Chucking equipment onto the small boats crew piling in and getting lowered to the ocean.

Most of you make it to land, some crew having to stay back and watch the ship.

This is it. The main island.. Whatever it is you're searching for. It's here.. Somewhere.

Making camp on the beach tents get set up in all different sizes as well as some crates as makeshift tables, a fire being planned to get set up in the middle of camp.

“Yunho, wooyoung go scout the surroundings and make sure its safe” hongjoong orders. And the two do as told with woo whining a tad.

“And y/n, mingi, jongho come with me.. Lets split up and get some firewood for that fire later”

And the four of you make your way up the sandy dunes to the entrance of the woods. And slowly you all creep in.

You walk a good few minutes in far enough in that there's branches and leaves

“Just take as much as you can carry, we won't be camped on the beach long, take just enough to keep the fire going overnight and to cook a dinner” hongjoong says and begins to pick up the sticks on the ground and the other three of you follow suit.

With arms now filled with branches and dry leaves for kindling you make your way back to camp on the beach and dump the wood on the ground where the fire will be set up. And seonghwa comes along and gets started on the fire and you watch him intently; he starts by taking stones from the beach to which you help and places them in a circle for the boundary of the fire, then taking the twigs and branches you all collected and places them neatly in the stone circle, lastly he takes the dried leaves and skaters them throughout the logs.

He pulls from his pocket a rock of flint and holds it securely on one of the big stones surrounding the unlit fire close to some of the kindling and he whips out a small steel dagger. He pauses-

And briefly looks up to you.

“You good?” he asks

You let out a hum

“It's just, you’ve been watching me for a while.. Is it really that interesting?” he asks

You nod

“Hmm! I always used to watch my da- i mean i just think its cool to watch” you tell him

He kind of looks at you with your first choice of words but he decides to not comment on it. And just nods along.

“Y’wanna try then?” he taps the sand beside him

You slightly laugh

“I don't know if i can do it but i'll certainly give it a shot” and you get on your knees beside him.

Seonghwa briefly shows you how to hold the flint and the angle to strike the dagger against it, once you're sure you’ve got the hang of it, you take the items from him and strike the blade against the rock.. Nothing happens the first few times but then all of a sudden a few sparks fly off and land on the leaves slightly letting some smoke travel in the air. Seonghwa gets closer to the leaves and gently blows on them and at last the fire is going!! It works its way through the other twigs and leaves until finally a big blazing fire lights up the camp.

“Why don't you go see what the others are doing and if they need any help while I get started on dinner” seonghwa tells you. And with a nod of your head you're off through the camp.

Walking around the camp you find jongho sitting cleaning out his gun, all the pieces laid out..

You sit in front of him and he looks up from cleaning and gives you an awkward smile

“y/n… hi” he says

“Hi Jongho”

The awkward smile still there he doesn't pay you any mind and goes back to cleaning

Damn this is awkward..

“So.. jongho..” you begin-

“Look y/n. With all due respect just leave me alone” he sort of snaps as he puts the cleaned gun back together “im not interested” he gets up and walks away.

Oh…

Disappointed you sit and look out to the waves.. The sun is starting to set, it hangs low in the sky

Someone takes the place of jongho..

“y/n?” they speak

“Captain.” you reply.

Hongjoong sits across from you.

“I.. um.. I have somethin’ for you.. Will you come with me a minute..?” he asks, his eyes darting everywhere bar into your own.. His cheeks slightly flushed

You let out a small yeah and get up to follow him, he leads you towards his tent and holds open the fabric for you to enter. Which you do.

Hongjoong enters after you and you take a look around the large tent.

There's a make-shift table to the right with a chair and to the left his bed, some clothes folded on top with his hat neatly placed against them and a rucksack laying on the floor at the foot of the bed and some oil lanterns hang in random spots

“y/n.. Come in. don’t just stand there..” he says now standing at the table so you walk closer to the table.

He clears his throat and places a medium-ish flat box on the table in front of you.

“I.. haha um.. It might be weird but.. I got you this.. I know you were lookin at one a while back..” as he rambles on you peel the lid of the box off and your eyes go wide

“A-and you don't have to like it. I know it's not the same one you saw.. And its probably weird that i bought you it-” he continues

“I love it” you whisper out

“That's okay.. Wait- you do?” he asks

You nod and take it out of the box. Inside was a pretty black lace up corset with little white and red flowers embroidered on going up the left side with green vines and on the right side in the same red as the flowers which looks to be an ‘A’ in a red circle.

Hongjoong watches as you look at the corset with pure happiness in your eyes and a smile goes onto his own face

You look to him

“This is probably one of the nicest gifts anyone has given me..thank you. Hongjoong.”

“Of course, I'm just glad you like it.. Now. let's go get something to eat shall we?” and you both go out to join everyone else around the fire to eat.

…

The next day you all wake up bright and early ready to make your journey into the dense forest. Getting ready, you pack your little bag first and change into your clothes: trousers and a nice white flowy shirt.. The corset catches your eye in the corner so you decide to put it on. undoing the laces you slip it over your torso and go to pull the laces shut.. Only you realise something. You can't do it by yourself.

You make your way to the entrance of your tent and slightly poke your head out..

You see hongjoong giving out orders and overseeing them as most people are packing up their things and tents, majority of the crew are busy though someone catches you sticking your head out, with a cheeky grin on his face he saunters over towards your tent, you quickly pull your head back in and hold the opening shut

“y/n~~ are you ready?? We’re about to head off” he says..

“i - nearly, i'm just getting ready but i-” you weigh up all the options in your mind. Cursing at yourself you pop your head back out again and look at the blonde who's still smiling, his arms crossed over his chest.

You bite your lip slightly “wooyoung” you sigh out “can you come in here and help me?” you ask

He frowns slightly and tilts his head

“Help? Hmm sure, but with what?” he asks

You pop back in the tent

Wooyoung follows in after you, brushing a hand through his blonde hair and when he finally looks at you he sucks in a breath.

“Y-you need help lacing that up..” he asks a faint yet prominent blush creeps its way onto his cheeks

You nod slowly.. “if .. you wouldn't mind” you add.

He quickly shakes his head.

“I don't mind” he says and he walks over to you.

You turn around for him and he takes hold of the laces with shaky hands

“Let me know if it's too tight.. Okay..? i don't wanna hurt you” he says and begins to fix the strings before pulling on them. You feel yourself being sucked in oh god you don’t know how those women in towns do this, He pulls them tight a few times before he's asking you if it's okay you tell him it's fine before he’s pulling some more more and then he ties the bow in the back. His hands rest on your waist for a moment.

“There” he whispers out.

“Thank you”

He smiles though you can't see it.

Turning around you grab your bag to head out. It's wooyoung's turn to look over you, he bites his lower lip looking away slightly before looking back to you.

“You look good.. It suits you, pretty” he says and you both leave the tent. He helps you pack the rest of your things and roll your tent up and attach it to your bag.

Walking over to the rest of the group by the forest entrance, the fact you're wearing his corset doesn't go unnoticed by hongjoong. A blush of his own coating his cheeks as well. He clears his throat and continues his ‘speech’ and not long after you're all off into the forest..

…

hongjoong leads the line from the front, map and compass in his hands. You don't know how long you walked for.. All you know is this island is bigger than it seems to be and all you've been seeing is trees, trees and even more trees. And you’re losing daylight again.. Wherever it is that map leads.. We’re not getting there as quickly as hongjoong hoped we would.

You come to a small clearing in the woods.. Still covered with trees but space enough to make a small camp for your team of 15..

Hongjoong stops turning to face everyone.

“We’ll camp here for now” he sighs out shaking his head frustrated. He seems to have a silent conversation with seonghwa before he's speaking again “Mingi.. Jongho you both take night watch.” he says to the two men before he begins to walk off seonghwa close behind him.. Yeosang too before he adds

“We don’t know what or who lurks in this forest..”

…

The camp set up everyone seems to get settled seemingly staying in their own tents exception of jongho and mingi who pace around a makeshift border of what you call ‘camp’

Sitting watching the flames of the fire at the side of the camp.. It's quiet.. Peaceful.

“y/n..” yunho stands in front of you with a smile on his face. He outstretches his hand for you to take.

“Come with me.” he says and you look at him suspiciously.

He sighs out.. “Just come on.. Or we’ll miss it” he grabs your hand and begins to pull you away. Away from camp.. Down the path. You walk hand in hand with yunho for around 10 to 20 minutes. Until you come to another opening. This time a cliff opening. He lets go of your hand and goes and sits on the edge of the cliff sighing dejectedly

“Missed it.. It was right there my star.. I'm sorry” he says to you.

You sit next to him

“What was it?” You ask

“The lights..” he sighs

You smile

“Thank you for coming to get me because you saw them.. Don’t worry though Yun.. the stars are still very pretty to watch” you tell him. He nods still upset that he failed to get you on time.. You sit in silence for a few moments and then he turns to you.

“I'll be back quickly star.. I'll go get a blanket and my telescope and we can watch them better” he says to you and you agree and he gets up and walks back in the direction you both came from.

You sit yourself in the quiet and peaceful for a bit looking up at the stars.. Occasionally looking at the darkness of the ocean below from your viewpoint.

You hear the crunching of the ground in the distance

“Sorry I kept you y/n.. I’m back” he says and sits beside you again.
