have you ever considered that as an artist, you could hypothetically do something like the painters who painted on ceilings and made things we still love and appreciate today? Like you could try painting a mural and people might see it and it might change their life. To me you are as amazing and great as the Renaissance painters who filled whole walls and ceilings with their work, your art involves similar feelings in me sometimes too

nonverbal is someone who doesn't talk because they can't, it's an all the time thing so to speak as well. (heheh speak) nonspeaking is the alternative where one can talk normally but isn't able to at the time due to being overwhelmed or something like that. Verbal loss is when you lose the ability to speak, usually I've seen it used in relation to nonspeaking rather than nonverbal. These are all shifting terms tho so it's totally possible they're gonna mean different things in the future or that nonspeaking is merging with nonverbal (which I rly hope it doesn't since it's literally supposed to be it's sort of counterpart, not the same thing) etc etc. These also all happen to various degrees, like nonverbal isn't all or nothing, it's got it's own spectrum so to speak. Same with nonspeaking. I'm not the best at explaining things but I hope this was good

if I may, I'd say you're lucky to not have done the frog book. It's something made for incredibly young children and was very patronizing and infantilizing for me. Obviously different people will feel differently about it but in my experience, testing things like creativity and how well someone can picture something in their mind or whether they can come up with a story can be tested in less patronizing ways. I was 15 when I finally went through the stuff that got me my diagnosis and the frog book specifically stood out as a painful to do because the lady in charge had already asked me what I planned to do in the future, which was art. I'd even showed her art I'd done. It upset me tbh. It's a cute book but it's for small children, they need to stop using it for teenagers and adults without any discretion or other options, using a toddler book for every single age is just rude. There needs to be options

You're right, I definitely was lucky I was treated like an adult. It sucks that so many places still base their assessments on the incorrect assumption that only kids can be autistic. Autistic children grow up into autistic adults and it's pretty well documented that diagnosis is often missed in childhood for non-stereotypical demographics.
