Even in novel, him getting the skill was already fast. Remember, he had to sharpen 10 000 knives. In the novel sharpening one takes around 5 minutes (so 12/hour, in other worlds you can make around 100 per 8 hours, which is normal workday). We KNOW that he was rushing it, and we know that je was still cooking for Yoojin, so let's say 150 a day. It should still be two months.
And while we weren't given the time frame in manwha we know that he did 1,000 his first day, and got cramps, 5,600 in about a week. Sooo 4,600/ 5 days with a steady pace is 920 a day. By the time Yoojin got kidnapped he should be 6,520. How he skipped to 9980 right the night after Yoojin's kidnapping is beyond me, but anyway. It's not even two weeks.
The whole 10,000 ordeal sure looks easy in the manhwa. While our Myeongwoo does look hard-working (because sharpening 1000 knives in a day is UNREAL author-nim) his hard work somehow disappeared. It somehow looks so easy.
They did my boy so dirty. I am both mad and sad and generally unhappy about this. In the novel Myeongwoo is a creator, with the problems and difficulties real authors face. Creating stuff takes time and skill and experience.
Also, it looks like we got entire Myeongwoo storyline in a speedrun. Judging by how he chapter ended, there might be the "we didn't really know each other" revelation next week.
--- pure speculations ---
And I can't help but think that it would flatten YMW/HYJ dynamics. Revealing the lie right after Myeongwoo hit it big does make sense for the current manhwa Yoojin (who os somehow way flashier showoff than his os novel counterpart).
BUT, their relationship isn't far enough for Myeongwoo to forego his explanation. Well, it's more like the other way around. Yoojin just saved his life (yeah, sure, dream, haha) while risking his own. Before he got the skill. Right then he got the skill, and now possibly the revelation. Myeongwoo is meek, but even his alarm bells would be having a party. (Does he care about me or did he only ever care about the skill???)
And what about the guilt? And what about the fear that Myeongwoo would leave on HYJ part?
--- end speculations ---
Again, we don't have the timeframe in the manhwa buuuuut
How long did this entire announcement and stuff take? Because Yoojin should be busy using Inky's skills rn? Like going to dungeons and stuff. Even if we take the dungeon break into account we still lack some? Will we be shown what HYJ did while YMW was unconscious or will HYJ speedrun the dungeons he needs to clear in order to get the skills?
What about Riette?
alsoooo yesterday's manhwa ch.. they really just expedited myeongwoo's skill progression huh! i can see why they'd do so but it sort of erases the effort he put into his creations and work even after he got his skill imo. aside from the logical pitfalls (like how he got his hands on the however-many-S'es-ranked magic stone and a tv interview in so little time) it doesn't feel right that it turns out so easy for the hard-working chronically sleep deprived myeongwoo? And the whole reason he tried so hard to push an s-ranked weapon as quickly as possible was to extend his own form of protection to yj, which, mm, maybe just hasn't come up yet. also no yoohyunie :(
#i have a lot of feelings for Yoo Myeongwoo#i have a lot of feelings for the source material#sorry for the rant#but please#author-nim please stop changing all the stuff#the only good thing about this chapter was how good my boy looked

My Top 5 Manhwa List
5. Omniscient Readers Viewpoint

Status: On going
Chapters: 52
Reviews:
The first time I read this, it caught my attention. The Chapter 0 was written well. I was writing this after reading chapter 22 and like the others say, at the beginning of the story, it has a slow paced story but the growth of the MC is what I like about these types of manhwas. How to use the knowledge of knowing what will happen is what makes you continue this manhwa. The scenario and art are similar to other dungeon related manhwas but I really have high expectations from this.
Story - 9/10
Art - 10/10
Characters - 9/10
Overall - 9/10
4. The God of High School

Status: On going
Chapters: 509
Reviews:
THIS WEBTOON IS AWESOME!! The plot, art style and the character development is top tier. Characters with great personality, these martial artist, some genuin fighters (Mori Jin) some power borrowers (Daewi Han, Mira Yoo), are some exceptional characters in GOH and the main protagonists. Their will to achieve their goals, their loyalty to their friendship and all the mysteries of their pasts that they in tern did not even know about. They go through ups and the even higher ups while staying true to themselves and they pass your love for them like a batton to each other throughout the story.
Storyline is great, it's funny and always keeping you on your toes. To be honest when I had just started I had no clue to where it was going, I just knew that it was about martial arts... and a lot happened in the manhwa that I cannot comprehend. After reading it, all the details and informations are still processing to me. I thought it was all about MARTIAL ARTS and SCHOOL and stuff but man, it was a roller coaster ride. I‘m sure you’ll be hooked as well. The plot twist is giving me anxiety lmao so yeah, if you like a lot of fighting, great characters and detestable villains then what are you waiting for?? I’m sure it is perfect for you and you’re gonna like it.
Story - 9/10
Art Style - 9/10
Characters 10/10
Overall - 9/10
3. Eleceed

Status: On going
Chapters: 136
Reviews:
I really really love this story so just read it and don't read useless reviews. But I made one anyways lol. Sooo...
I clicked on Eleceed by mistake and I don't regret it at all. The cover picture looked very boring to me but the story is amaziiing. What are you still waiting for? Art will also get better with time and characters. I don't know how this is possible but I love almost every character in this manhwa. Like yeah, first you won't like everyone but there is this thing called character development. I am an avid fan of solo leveling so I made it in top 3 but solo leveling is still higher tho hahaha yes I do have favoritism. The protagonist will also become OP but you can see that he worked hard and well KAYDEN-SAMA (he's proly not japanese but I had to show some respects) is his teacher. Kayden is not the protagonist (sadly) but he's also the OP from the beginning. On the top of that he's very cruel and the tsundere type (which is really popular in the manhwa), haha. In the first chapter, he got seriously hurt by his enemies so he decided to turn into cat and hide. Meanwhile in this time, Jiwoo will find him (this manhwa is full of cat lovers, I love it) and take care of him. That's when they will get to know each other and build their beautiful father-pupil relationship. In next chapters, we will encounter many difficult situations with many different characters but seriously - I LOVE THEM ALL. They will turn into such babies, I swear, you will love them too.
This manhwa made me cry so many times. But not because it was sad. It was sooo funny! I don't normally read comedies but this is a gem. Yeah, so if you liked Solo leveling or The beginning after the End, you will most likely like this too. I feel like this is way too underrated, so let's change it! Let's make it into a well-known manhwa!
Story - 9/10
Art - 10/10
Characters - 10/10
Overall - 10/10
2. The Beginning After the End

Status: Ongoing
Chapters: 101
Reviews:
This manhwa which is about a king being reborn in another world. The protagonist Arthur, short Art(pre-rebirth: King Grey), is learning magic and fighting from a young age and is good at it since he can use his experiences from his former life in swordsmanship and the KI from his previous world is similiar to the mana in the world the story is taking place in. The characters have nice backgrounds that are getting more clear as the story moves on. Also the characters are developing over time. The story is very interesting: Not only is it very exciting but it also has a lot of events that make sense and dont just come out of nowhere like it often happens in such mangas. If u don't read this you will really miss a lot of joy and exitement. I have put this on top 2 because I can? Haha lol jokes aside, I just really really love the storyline so much as it progresses, in recent chapter I just gosh my sail just sailed. I don’t know author-nim is focusing on more action/adventure/isekai genre but no hun, romance is in it as well!
As for negative things about the manga...The art isn't the best. Art's family loves fem heartily, but at times it can come across as a bit too gooey. There is homophobia in chapter 40.
Story - 10/10
Art - 5/10
Characters - 9/10
Overall - 9/10
1. Only I Level Up - Solo Leveling

Status: On going
Chapters: 148
Review: I put this on my top 1 because duh?? The plot/ storyline is top tier, I know this is overrated by some of you but this manhwa is the defenition of a perfect masterpiece.
Well to be honest it is the best manhwa so far that i ever read and i love to know more so please author dont stop this manga for atleast a century and also waiting for when it is going to release its anime version.
Solo Leveling is a manga with the leveling aspect similar to ''the gamer or shield hero'' where we follow the breathtaking journey Sung Jin-Woo who is at the weakest amongst all hunters ''E-Rank'' fighting his way through many life and death experiences and hardships.
Story - 10/10
Art - 10/10
Characters - 10/10
And so.. that’s it!! I just wanna share my experience while reading these Manhwas. I am so glad that I found these masterpieces and so thankful to be born in this era hahaha. Author-nims’ I hope you won’t stop giving and feeding us this type of story. <33

Lockscreen // Yuwin NCT : Chapter Four
Summary: There’s a thin line between reality and playacting, and Dong Sicheng tripped hard over it when he fell head over heels in love with Nakamoto Yuta.

Lockscreen // Yuwin NCT
Chapter 4: Oracle Haechan’s Ouija session
Recap:
The next day, Winwin was leaving early when he tip-toed to where Yuta’s phone was charging. It was just a harmless habit of his. To check his lockscreen now and then.
He frowned.
The lockscreen had changed. It was Winwin still but post-show, Limitless-era Winwin looking petulantly at the camera. Winwin remembered when Yuta had clicked this picture. He was looking ghastly. It had been after a show when Winwin had smudged his make-up angrily, irritated by his outfit and the monstrous belt and the botched up dance move.
He shoved the phone back, looking at Yuta’s sleeping form.
When he returned that evening, he made a point to discreetly show his lockscreen to Yuta. It was a picture of Yuta covered in mud from when the time he had fallen face first into a rainy muddle during a rare walk together.
Yuta laughed when he saw it. “You still have this? Isn’t this pre-debut? Wow, I look ugly. Taeyongie, look at this.”
Winwin huffed.
Winwin was glaring at Yuta and Taeyong who were clutching each other, laughing at Taeyong’s Japanese while fixing up some dinner.
“Jaehyun,” he said, “you haven’t taken Taeyong out for a date in quite a while, right?”
They were sitting on the couch in the living room, watching football.
Jaehyun smiled, his dimple deepening. “We went out yesterday. Why?” His tone was shrewd.
Winwin looked at Yuta and Taeyong again and nearly growled. “Your boyfriend has no sense of personal space.”
Jaehyun nudged him. “Quit being jealous. Taeyongie is being smothered by Yuta if I’m seeing clearly. Besides, I remember someone telling me jealousy is a dangerous thing.”
“How do you not get jealous?” Winwin groaned.
Jaehyun looked at Taeyong fondly. “I used to, before, but being in a relationship changes stuff, you know? Things are good.”
Winwin threw him a dirty look. “I have never felt so bad for being single.”
“Oi, Jaehyunnie, can you have a look at this?” Taeyong called him from the kitchen. “Yuta says it’s too spicy but then Yuta finds everything spicy.”
“Later, singleton,” Jaehyun said, laughing, as he strode to the kitchen.
“Okay, you guys, I see you’re leaving me out of your little cooking show. I’m going to call Jun and Hao and go get dinner with them.”
“Bye,” they chorused.
Haechan entered the room, hearing the exchange. “Aww, Winwin hyung, are the hyungs being mean again? Fear not, Haechannie is here. Let me read your future with my new Ouija board.”
Winwin was about to suggest a game instead because he didn’t want to be the first experiment of Haechan’s new Ouija board but suddenly he remembered why Haechan had an Ouija board in the first place. Jaehyun had bought it for him after Haechan had read his future from the Tarot cards. No one knew exactly what Haechan had told Jaehyun but within the span of a few hours, Jaehyun was dating Taeyong.
“Can it answer a question for me?” he whispered.
Haechan’s eyes glinted. “And so much more.” He set up the board on the coffee table and asked Winwin to sit across him. “But first, I need payment.”
Winwin made a move to get up. “Okay, I’m leaving.”
“No, no, sit, sit. Okay, since you’re my first customer, it’s nearly free for you. Just help me prank Mark one of these days.”
Winwin nodded dismissively.
“Alright.” Haechan put on a serene face and fished out a purple robe from somewhere. “Welcome to Oracle Haechan’s Ouija session. I’m calling on spirits—”
There was a burst of laughter from the general direction of the kitchen.
“—yes, yes, I hear some witches wailing in the background.”
The laughter died down quickly.
“Okay, it’s quieter now. I feel the presence of a spirit.” The table shook slightly. “Oh it’s a real strong spirit but my presence has calmed it down. Okay, child, ask your question,” Haechan said, eyes still closed.
Winwin began, “What does Y—?” He stopped himself as he realized that the three in the kitchen had stopped cooking and were listening intently. What does Yuta truly think of me? No, he couldn’t ask that. He had a cool image to uphold. So, he covered up quickly. “What does my future look like?”
Haechan opened his eyes but rolled them back so only the whites showed and melodramatically, he shook the table with his foot. “Spirit-nim is saying something. Please spell it out for us.” He leaned over the table and the pointer began to move quickly.
Winwin drew a breath and tried to read the letters that were being highlighted by the pointer. “What the—it’s going too fast. Is it even saying anything? Seems random roaming about to me.”
The pointer stopped moving and the table stopped shaking. Haechan gave him a loathsome look. “You’ve made the spirit upset by your disbelief.”
The audience in the kitchen moved back to their work.
Haechan whispered conspirationally. “But don’t worry, hyung, I got the message. I can read the pointer pretty fast.”
Winwin looked doubtful.
“The spirit talked about…”
Winwin didn’t want to appear interested but his head leaned closer to catch the words.
“The spirit said, ‘Dong Sicheng, your biggest competition is about to come’,” Haechan said in a hoarse voice. He coughed and spoke clearly after delivering this. “So, what did you think of my session?”
“You need to work on the whole table movement,” Winwin said.
Haechan nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Who do you think I should call for a session next?” He scratched his non-existent beard thoughtfully.
“Ask Yuta. He seems pretty free these days.”
The younger boy sighed. “He’s my favourite experiment but I’m pretty sure he’s the one who has hidden away my tarot cards.”
“You kept telling him a grimm was going to get him at breakfast every day. I won’t be surprised if he did hide them.”
Haechan laughed. “I was just kidding, practicing my Harry Potter impersonations.” He smiled wistfully. “Speaking of Yuta hyung, I heard from Renjun who heard from Ten hyung…when are you planning to tell Yuta hyung?”
Winwin spluttered. “Why does everyone keep pressuring me to tell Yuta? First Jaehyun and Ten and now you. How does it even matter? He’ll know when the rest of the boys know.”
“You’re joking, right? He’s going to be devastated when he finds out,” Haechan said.
“Why? I mean, sure, it’s going to take a little getting used to but it’s no big deal.” Winwin shrugged, looking at the floor.
“It’s no big deal? You’re moving dorms. Yuta hyung and you have been roommates since forever. Maybe you’re cold enough to not care about the change but he isn’t like that. He loves you.”
Winwin got up, angrily. “You’ve all got it so wrong. It’s the other way round.” He stomped his foot and walked out of the dorm.
Haechan picked up his phone guiltily and typed a message to Mark. “Remember when you said I shouldn’t interfere in other people’s relationships?”
CanadaBoy: Oh Haechan
Not again
Please tell me it’s not yuwin
DevilHimself: Bingo
Wait, how do you know its yuwin?
Do you know something I don’t?
Mark?
Mark?
Mark!
Outside the dorm, Winwin took a walk to his favourite park. He sat on a bench and thought about what Haechan had said. Everyone, from the members to the fans, had classified him as some sort of ice prince and Yuta as a pining lover. He scoffed. They didn’t know how far from the truth they were. It was him who was in love with Yuta. He had no idea how it started. At first, he had been grateful to Yuta for immediately taking him under his wing. It was so wonderful to have this sweet, hard-working person take time out for him, help him in everything and by the time they became roommates, Winwin was already a goner.
At first, he had brushed his feelings somewhere deep inside. If he tried very hard, no one would ever know. There was training, fears of failure, a whole new world, and never-ending language problems; for a long while, his feelings were lost in translation. It was Ten and Jaehyun who found out first.
They were all having Doyoung’s birthday dinner in a restaurant and Winwin was talking to Ten and Jaehyun about how it was unfair that Ten was learning Korean so much faster when Winwin was the clever one.
“Who said you’re the clever one? What is your IQ?” Ten asked, laughing.
Jaehyun passed them the plate of barbecue meat. “It’s fruitless to fight about this. I have the highest IQ on our whole team.”
“What is your IQ, smartass?” Winwin asked in disbelief.
The other two were about to respond when they both stopped short. Winwin had, whilst talking, turned over the meat helpings from the plate, fishing for the good ones. This was pretty routine for him but what happened next caught their attention. He had placed the good pieces on Yuta’s plate wordlessly, almost subconsciously.
Ten turned to Jaehyun. “Did you—Did you see what I saw?”
Jaehyun nodded. “It’s definitely time for a washroom break.” He gave them a pointed look.
Winwin frowned and looked to his other side. What had the other two seen? Some gossip?
“Yes,” Ten lowered his voice, “he means secret meeting, fyi.”
Winwin rolled his eyes. “I know, Ten.”
“Just checking. You seem unwell.”
Winwin had no idea what Ten was talking about but the minute they reached the washroom his friends launched themselves at him.
“You like him!”
“You like Yuta hyung!”
Winwin had no idea why his face was heating up. He made a noise. “Pfft. I-I don’t. I mean, what are you two even saying? Let’s go back. I’m hungry.”
“Exactly!” Ten said, excitedly. “You were hungry and you gave your share to Yuta like it was nothing. You were groaning and crying about how you were going to devour everything the second it lands on the table. You don’t even share food with us when you’re hungry.”
“That’s because Yuta hyung is a lovely person unlike you two,” Winwin said, trying his best to squirm out of the situation.
“Oh so Yuta hyung is a lovely person now,” Jaehyun said, eyes twinkling. He turned to Ten. “He totally likes him.”
“When did I say that?”
Ten nodded. “When was the last time Winwin complimented anyone?”
Jaehyun hugged him. “Congratulations. We can all mope together about a 95 liner now.”
Ten cheered. “You’re now truly a part of the golden trio.”
Winwin tried to appear nonchalant still. He was never one to display his emotions openly. Besides, this was something he hadn’t confronted openly even himself. There were so many variables that he had to consider and then there was the question of Yuta himself. He wasn’t going to say anything if Yuta didn’t have any feelings for him. That would be so embarrassing, he thought. So, he squared up his shoulders and hugged his friends back.
“Wow, I have two busybodies for my best friends. Thank you for your concern but I’m hungry. Let’s go back and see if the others have left anything for us. C’mon, kids.”
Jaehyun and Ten exchanged speculative looks but followed him.
Winwin could hear them whispering.
“He totally likes him, right?” Ten said, in a low voice.
“There’s no doubt about it.”
“It was the food-sharing that did it.”
“He’s blushing now, look!”
He ignored their snickering and sat down, looking around for food.
Yuta exchanged their plates silently swapping Winwin’s empty one with his own, listening to Johnny talk animatedly.
“I—You needn’t—Yuta…” He looked at the food, simultaneously bursting with adoration for the man beside him but also acutely aware of his two best friends who were giggling and elbowing each other.
Ten had to ask, of course. “Yuta, what do you think of our Winwinie?”
Yuta turned and suddenly Winwin was totally under Yuta’s intense gaze as the latter studied his face seriously. Then, almost as if the moment had never happened, Yuta smiled at Ten. “He’s a lovely person, don’t you think?”
Maybe he had begun dancing while thinking about old times in his favourite park because the scenery swung around him when he realized his bearings once again. He breathed deeply and took another twirl easily, humming to his favourite dance routine music that always calmed him down.
A flash of silver against the night caught his attention and he stopped.
He could hear his heart thumping as the figure approached him.
“Sicheng-ah, is that you?” the familiar voice called out.
He answered back with a question. “Yuta?”
Yuta walked up to him. “Hey.”
Winwin’s mind was a fuzz. Yuta’s lockscreen change, Yuta and Taeyong in the kitchen, Haechan’s prophecy, the memory, his own feelings, disappointment, surprise and his lovesick heart which had warmed up at the sight of Yuta. “What are you doing here?”
Yuta frowned, biting his lip as he searched for answer. “I came to call you for dinner…?”
“You could have called me.” He wanted to kick himself. It was all coming out wrong.
“I did. You didn’t pick up.”
Winwin fished out his phone from his pocket and realized, sheepishly, that it was on silent. 10 missed calls. 2 from Taeyong, 2 from Jaehyun, 3 from Yuta and 1 from Haechan. “Sorry, I didn’t realize it was on silent.” It was past ten. They must have been so worried.
“It’s okay, let’s go,” Yuta said, smiling at him.
They fell in step together, walking home in silence. Winwin had no idea what Yuta was thinking but he hated how calm Yuta looked, how Yuta had smiled at him instead of shouting at him or just doing anything but this. Did Yuta care? How was he supposed to know if he never said anything? He looked at the distance between their hands. Mere centimetres. If he stretched his fingers, he could hold his hand. He wondered how it would feel. He hated how calmly Yuta was looking ahead, oblivious to all that was going through his head. Would Yuta pull away? He moved his fingers in the general direction tentatively.
“Winwin-ah, are you okay?” Yuta asked in a low voice.
If Winwin wanted he could just pretend to not have heard him but he did and the sudden question chased the distance between their hands to its original space. “Yes,” he answered, unsure as to what Yuta was referring to.
“I know I shouldn’t pry but take care of yourself. I know it’s getting busy these days but remember you’re important and you deserve rest too. If it gets too much, I’m here, okay? You can talk to me.” Yuta reached up to Winwin’s head and patted his hair softly.
Winwin shied away. “I’m not a kid anymore. You should stop worrying about me.”
Yuta drew back his hand, looking ahead once again. “I’m sorry. I know you don’t like it when people interfere in your business.”
Fuck, Winwin cursed mentally. “Yuta, I—I didn’t mean it that way. I just mean...I…I wish you didn’t think of me as a kid.”
Yuta looked at him and again, Winwin was reminded of how beautiful Yuta’s eyes were. It was as if he was falling into them, as if they were searching for something; he wanted answers too. Yuta must have understood something because he tilted his head to one side. “Winwin, I don’t think of you as a kid.”
They were at the dorm door now but Winwin mustered up all of his courage to ask first, “Then what do you think of me?”
that was an awesome cliffhanger...wasn't it? ;) omg this was a good chapter to write. can't wait for you all to read the next one!
so how was the chapter? did you enjoy it? and what do you think yuta's answer will be? please tell us! we love to hear from you all <3
ps: haechan's prophecies are the best
love, positive vibes and lovely people~

¤ His Sinner ¤ Ch1
Welcome to His Sinner!
Please enjoy!
☆ (Y/n)'s Point of View ☆
"Are you even listening to me?" A voice bellowed into my ear, snapping me out a haze that i always seem to find myself in.
I nodded with no emotion detected on my features as if i was a robot, made only to serve others.
"Repeat what i just said then, brat." The woman challenged, laying her arms across her chest, staring at me with furious eyes.
"Go to Halmes Bar and meet a man named Hajoon. Demand for 1000 won. If he complies then give him the drugs." I recited back to her, almost as if i had practiced the sentence. She rolled her eyes, not caring that i was actually listening before shoving me out of the door.
"Don't bother coming home without the money. Your dad and i won't be pleased." She hissed before slamming the door in my face. I flinched slightly at the loud noise then turned around and began my journey.
This was everyday of my life... Always running an errand for my parents and their revolting drug buisness that was unreasonably over priced. Always ending up with cuts and brusies by the end of the day, never healing as more get afflicted ontop of them. I wish it would all just end.
I can make it all stop.
So many times i have thought about ending my life, but what use would that do? I would just be giving up on myself. I would not allow myself to be so weak.
I can make you feel strong.
I didn't have any money or sort of way to get onto a public transport so i was forced to walk everywhere i needed to go. My parents dropped me out of school a year ago, claiming that i didn't need to learn any more since i was their errand girl. That was all that i would ever be after all, unless they somehow vanished.
Oh baby, i can do more than just make them vanish.
I walked down the street, turning coners when needed to get to the Bar that i was supposed to meet Hajoon at. I watched as people went passed me, smiles on their faces as they dwelled in their happy lives. I don't even remember the last time i smiled, let alone be happy.
I stood directly infront of the bar with a sigh. A fifteen minute walk and now my legs were aching slightly. But I've been through so much worse so i don't let this bother me. A man kindly opened the door for me, letting me inside. Music blasted towards me after only one step into the room. I made my way to the stools infront of the bar tender, sitting at the stool closest to the wall.
"What can i get you?" A man asked me with a soft smile. I shook my head at him, slightly amused as he unbuttoned to top of his shirt to make himself seem more attractive.
"Nothing. I don't have the money even if i did want something." I laughed bitterly, staring at the overly expensive bottles that i could never afford to taste.
That can all change, baby.
"It's on me. Pick whatever you fancy." He said kindly, motioning to all the bottles of the wall. I thought for a second, my eyes were suddenly attracted to a red bottle. It seemed alluring and mysterious, calling out to me in ways i didn't understand.
"That one. 'A Devil's Pick' " i read out the label, guiding him to one that caught my eye. His brows furrowed, following my directions to the bottle that was practically glowing. He picked up the bottle in confusion before looking back at me with a baffled face.
"I've actually never seen this on my shelf before... I haven't even heard of the brand... That's weird... I thought i knew my liquor... Guess not." He uttered out pathetically. But alas, he shrugged the feeling off and poured me a glass, sliding it towards me with curious eyes.
"Go on, try it. I would like to know how it tastes." He urged me, nudging my hand towards the glass. I picked up the glass, instantly feeling something new wash over me. It almost felt... dark?
I brought the glass to my lips, taking a sip of the red liquid and instantly falling in love with the taste. It made me thirsty for more, my throat quenched once i swallowed. My mind begged me for another taste as i quickly brought the glass to my lips. This time i was gulping it down, taking out every drop of the liquor. My eyes flickered to the bar tender as he read the only words written on the back of the bottle.
"Only the badest will be greedy for more." He read out loud, his head snapping back to me as i placed down my empty glass on the counter. He chuckled more to himself.
"This stuff looks dangerous." He joked, placing the bottle under the counter and out of my reach as he saw how intently i was eyeing it.
"Are you the trader?" A voice asked me, a head peeking over my shoulder before sitting down on the stool next to me. The bar tender could sense the new found tension in the air and decided it would be safe to stand in the other side of the bar, furthest away from this new man.
"Yes." I muttered quitely, the alcohol lingering now at the back of my mind as my mother's words took over my mind.
"Don't bother coming home without the money."
"Do you have what i want?" He asked me, staring at me with cold eyes.
"I do." I replied quietly. He smirked, pleased at my answer as he taped the table in excitement.
"Come on then, give it to me." He demanded, he was clearly getting more and more imaptient as time went past. The clock on the wall infront of us did not help at all, ticking loudly and increasing tension.
"I need the 1000 won before i can give you your drugs..." i muttered softly, hoping he would give me the money and not any problems. He sighed loudly before chuckling to himself lowly. Instantly i knew that this was not good.
"No can do, sweetheart. You're going to give me the drugs... Or you'll most definitely regret it." He lightly threatened with a teasing wink towards me.
"I need you to give me that money, Hajoon. Don't make this any more difficult than it already is." I told him, holding myself back from right out begging him for that money.
"I could say the same to you, sweetheart." He hissed, getting less and less friendly towards me. I could already feel that things were only going to get worse from here on.
"Please... Hajoon. I need the money... You'll get your drugs...Please." i begged shamefully, my pride was deteriorating bit by bit as i thought about how i was going to go home without the money.
"Babe, my patience is running thin." He growled, staring at the bag that was clutched tightly in my other hand.
"So is mine." I sighed, trying to deeped my voice to seem the most tiniest bit intimidating. He chuckled bitterly then made a lunge for me. I was too shocked to move and too slow to react in the slightest. He smashed the side of my head against the side of the table and elbowed my side. My arms flared backwards in pain, the bag hanging off of the edge of my fingertips. He snatched it out of my hands and ran off out of the back door.
The bartender came rushing to my side, lifting my head gently off of the table to check my wound. Blood was leaking down the side of my face as i groaned out in pain. He grabed some wipes from under the counter and gently wiped my face and forehead as he looked at me in pity.
"I was hoping that what you were involved in wasn't what i thought it was... but I guess it was." He mumbled sadly. I shook my head with a deafeated sigh. I coughed abit before throwing myself in hysterical laughter. Tears escaped my eyes as i slapped my forehead because i was so fucking stupid.
"I hate my life. I wish i would just be done with my parents and their business. Done with both of them. I would give anything to just get what i want for a change." I cried out pathetically. He raised his brow at me, judging my facial expression to see if i spoke the 100% truth just now.
"Anything?" He repeated, he peaked my interest as i opened my eyes and looked up at him like a lost puppy.
"That's right...Give it to her."
He heard the voice say inside his head and nodded unconsciously to himself, following the orders form 'the voice'.
He watched as i nodded at his comment then debated whether he really wanted to do what he was about to do
"Do it, now."
The voice said to him, making him snap out of his haze
I watched as the man pulled a book out from his bag that was layed carelessly on the floor beside the bar stool. He fidgeted with the book and the papers inside it before laying it infront of me, opened on a specific page.
"Do every step. And i promise you'll get everything you desire." He whispered to me, closing the book and pushing it forwards. I nodded suspiciously at his words but took the book into my arms, instantly feeling the same dark energy that i felt from the alcohol i had. Why did they feel exactly the same?
"I never got your name..." i trailed off awkwardly as i stumbled out of my stool, one of my hands hovering over the cut on my head.
"My name's Bang Sihyuk...Call me PD." He told me, his eyes fully focused on the book.
He crossed over his side of the bar and walked me to the door, pushing me out gently.
"Follow each instruction...Precisely." he told me in all seriousness. I nodded dumbly and started to walk to the direction of my house, feeling uncomfortable as Pd stared at me intensely.
If this book was the key to finally making myself happy... To finally getting what i wanted... Then i will do anything it tells me to.
Good girl...

More like enemies to lovers type-deal word count - 2,790 words author's note - enjoy i fucked up my eyes writing this at 2 AM you're weLCOME IT'S DONE YAAAAY!
You and BamBam went way back. Way back to your trainee days when you were both still learning Korean and you hadn't been assigned to a debuting group yet. While you didn't speak Thai, you both clicked instantly. However, out of all the GOT7 members that you'd intermingled with, you managed to get along with everyone except the group's maknae. You didn't know what it was about him that irked you so much – to the point where it made you not even want to hang out with the rest of the members.
It ruined almost every single visit you took to the dorms. On the rare occasion that Yugyeom was at practice or in the studios, you would enjoy your stay, but other than that it was a pretty short visit whenever Yugyeom was home. The members would scold him, but him being the defiant maknae he is, it'd do little to stop him from glaring at you from across the room or 'accidentally' putting his foot in your way as you were walking throughout the dorm.
And to make it worse, he saw you naked.
Yep. I didn't stutter. He had seen you naked.
You were sleeping over during a break with both of your debuting groups, just a harmless slumber party with a bunch of seven year old's in the bodies of grown men. You were in BamBam's room, which he conveniently shared with Yugyeom and you were under the impression that Yugyeom wouldn't be home for another few hours since he was held up in practice perfecting his Hit The Stage performance.Oh, how wrong you were. You were in the middle of taking a shower, the door was shut and locked because I mean, you were a smart girl – your mother taught you to always lock the door and you were in a house of six grown men, why else wouldn't you? BamBam failed to tell you that the bathroom lock was faulty at times, and sometimes didn't lock all the way ever since Jaebum had to break it down after the boys accidentally locked themselves out. (Small lesson in Korean society. A lot of the bathrooms don't have tubs or showers – in Korea, most of the time, your shower is your bathroom. There's a shower-head and a drained in floor. That was it.)
You had soap in your hair, and you were getting ready to rinse off and get out, when the door handle jingled. You were concerned for a minute before you remembered you'd locked the door. And then with another jingle to the door, it opened and there was Yugyeom – drenched from his practice, staring at you with his mouth wide open.
Buckle up your seat-belts kids, because what happened next was a wild ride from start to finish.
You, being the normal human being you were, were startled and tripped back under the spray, clasping your hands over yourself to cover the important areas, you got soap in your eyes, in your mouth and up your nose, and fell backwards, earning a pretty good sized goose egg on the back of your head.
All while he just watched in complete shock.
And that was the last time you visited the dorms. That was three months ago.
Now, here you were in front of the dorm's front door, shaking in your boots as you looked down at the text messages on your phone from BamBam.
You need to come to the dorms, (Y/N).
We miss you, a lot.Yugyeom too.
(Y/N), answer me, please...
After the copious amounts of texts from him, you'd replied with a snappy comeback.
I honestly doubt that Yugyeom misses me at all. From what it looks like he's happier without me around. Try having your most private parts shown to the guy who hates you the most. It's not something you want to come back to.
It was beyond embarrassing what had happened. You couldn't even face him at the office let alone in his own house.
Yet here you were.
Come over. Now. We're straightening all this out tonight.
That was the last message you received from him. And it didn't sound like a request.
Before you could talk yourself out of it, you rang the doorbell. Not less than five seconds later did you get a response, the sound of the door unlocking before Jinyoung was revealed on the other side. Honestly, he'd changed in the last three months. Grown bigger in his muscles and his shoulders were broader than when you last saw him. The time had done him well.
Jinyoung's eyes widened, looking down at you before ushering you in quickly with a loud, “(Y/N) is here!”
You heard several curses in Korean, followed by a stampede of footsteps before you were graced with six out of the seven members in the group known as GOT7. Yugyeom, as usual, was nowhere to be found. Everyone started talking to you at once, asking how you were, where you'd been, how your group was doing and why they hadn't seen you at the office. They were all quieted down by Jackson, who pulled you into a hug, followed by BamBam and Mark, then Youngjae, then Jinyoung and Jaebum just simply grasped your shoulder in a friendly-affectionate manner. When you all broke apart, BamBam spoke.
“Listen, (Y/N),” he began, grasping you by the shoulders. “We all miss you. Even Yugyeom. He's busy with PD-nim at the studio, but he wants to be here. Just, stay the night. Please?” he said, and you sighed. Same old excuse. But you knew how hectic an idol's schedule could be. Even now, looking at all of the members and seeing how they'd changed, you figured it'd be for the best if you left all that shit in the past.
“We have movies, Soju, and take-out is on the way.” Youngjae interjected and you once again, sighed. “Okay, alright, I'll sta-” You were cut off by Jackson roaring in success, jumping around like a big dork, all excited. And then the others joined. You were just happy you'd already showered before you came.
And thus the get together began. You set down your stuff and ran the first film. It was an American film called IT, and it thankfully came with Korean subtitles so the boys could enjoy it as well. It was about a killer clown named Pennywise who lured children to his lair so he could eat them.
Knowing how easily you got nightmares, this wasn't going to be too fun. But the boys seemed to enjoy it so far, so you decided to put your childish fears of clowns aside and enjoy your time spent with them.
You were wedged between Mark and BamBam, your two closest friends out of the group – Youngjae was perched on one side of the love seat, while Jackson was laying down with his head in Youngjae's lap. Your head was on Mark's shoulder while your legs were curled up to your chest. Jinyoung and Jaebum were seated on recliners, all of us watching in suspense when the door flew open.
And you screamed very loud. Louder than any ahgases that they were used to at concerts, burying your face into BamBam's shoulder while gripping his shirt tightly in your hands. And you had every right to be scared – not because it was Pennywise the Clown coming to eat you and steal your soul, but because it was none other than Kim Yugyeom standing before you in the dim light of the television that your eyes focused on after pulling your head from BamBam's shoulder.
He looked tired. He looked like he hadn't slept in god knows how long – with his hair mussed in his face and the bags under his eyes. It didn't look like the Yugyeom you knew, always snapping and crabby with a quick wit. He was the disrespectful maknae that you knew hated your guts with every fiber of his being.
And his eyes were focused on you.
“I didn't know (Y/N) was going to be here.”
Your eyes shifted from him to BamBam, who gave you a sheepish smile and you rolled your eyes. The room was visibly tense, you could tell even Youngjae, who was always the coolest of cucumbers – despite how much he hated them – was on edge. “I guess that makes two of us.” You mumbled quietly, looking down to your hands that were clasped tightly in your lap. “It's fine, I'll go-”
That had a chorus of negations and pleads go around the room, while Yugyeom was silent. After a while, he spoke. “Don't let me stop you from having a good time with my members. I'm going to bed.” He said it with venom in his words, practically spitting them at you before he marched off to his and BamBam's shared room, shutting the door.
You looked down at them, a small scoff leaving your lips. “Listen, he does miss you, (Y/N), he just has a lot going on right now...” Jinyoung stated and you sighed, leaning back in your seat. “Let's just finish the movie, please, I'm tired.”
No one seemed to refuse your request.
Halfway through, the takeout arrived and the smell of pizza hit your nose. You, deciding to be civil, grabbed a few slices and put it on a plate, walking to Yugyeom's door and knocking quietly.
After a few times, he answered.
And it wasn't how you expected.
His hair was disheveled, wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants and you'd be lying if you said your eyes didn't linger. You were a little bit younger than Yugyeom, but that didn't mean you hadn't had thoughts. Sure, he hated you, but he was attractive and you couldn't deny that. Gulping a bit, you presented the plate to him.
“T-The boys ordered pizza, I was wondering if you were hungry since you just went straight to bed-”
Yugyeom gently took the plate, “thank you,” was all he said before the door was shut in your face again.
Well, kudos to you for trying.
At least he said thank you.
You guys watched a few more movies, the Soju was drank by literally everyone but you – and honestly you could use it right about now. The members said their good-nights and went off to their rooms, all with either giving you a hug or a pat on the shoulder or a kiss on the head in departure.
And then you were alone in the dark living room after just watching four scary movies in a row. You shut your eyes tight, curling up on the couch under the blanket you were given and tried to sleep. And you did drift off only to flinch yourself awake a few hours later in a cold sweat, shaking with memories of seeing all the villains in their gory horror coming after you.
You got up from where you were on the couch, eyes shut tight still feeling along the wall until you got to the first door on the right – the only person who you knew you could go to right now, BamBam. He knew about your chronic nightmares and how scary movies affected you. However, BamBam wasn't the one who answered the door.
It was his roommate, Yugyeom.
“(Y/N), do you have any idea how late it is?” He growled tiredly, and you knew you'd just awoken the sleeping dragon. You immediately apologized, profusely over and over. Your voice was as shaky as you felt. “I-I'm s-sorry Yugyeom-ssi.. I-I had a n-nightm-mare and I thought B-BamBam was awake-” With an annoyed sigh, you were pulled into the equally dark room and the door was shut behind you. “BamBam's knocked out; he drank too much.” Yugyeom said, and you furrowed your brows as he laid down on his bed, scooting as far as he could to the wall leaving a whole lot of room.
Looking over your shoulder, it was true that BamBam was knocked out as you squinted through the darkness at him.
Dammit.
“Well? What are you waiting for? Lay down.”
He wanted you to lay in his bed with him?
Shyly, you crawled into the bed and got under the covers beside him. It felt tense, but not as much as you had earlier. Something had changed. But you couldn't pinpoint it. You felt the bed shift, and Yugyeom turned around to face you.
“(Y/N)... can I ask you something?”
Well, that was a change from the moody behavior you'd gotten from him the minute you'd met.
You rolled over on your side to face him.
“What is it?”
You heard a small sigh leave his lips before he responded. “Do you hate me because of that day..? The day I saw you, um, nak-”
You had to stop him there before your cheeks melted off from how hot they were.
“I-I'm not mad at you, Yugyeom-ssi-” This time it was him who cut you off.
“Stop with the formalities, (Y/N).”
You went quiet. The last thing you'd expected to happen tonight was have a late night heart to heart with Yugyeom. But lo' and behold, here you were. Another thing you didn't expect was for Yugyeom to grip you around your waist and pull you close to him in a hug.
Yugyeom did hugs?
You weren't aware of this, not in the slightest.
You.
Did not get the memo.
But here you were, pressed up against his bare chest as he held you.
“(Y/N)...” He breathed, and you tensed even more against him. “(Y/N), the only reason I've been so mean to you is because I've been fighting my feelings for you... for a long time-” Your breath hitched. He felt feelings for you other than hatred?
“I don't do girls... I've been in the industry since I was a kid I never got to experiment with girls.. And now that I found one I'd liked, I felt like it was wrong. I wanted you to go away so I wouldn't have to deal with the embarrassment of rejection but every time I was rude or mean or hurt you it hurt so much. Eventually I had to face facts.. I'm sorry, (Y/N)-ah..”
You were sure you'd pass out from shock or something, when it hit you.
You had feelings for him too.
It hit you like a damn truck.
“I understand if you don't feel the same- I-” his grip began to loosen when you gripped onto his wrist, stopping him from pulling away. “Wait, Yugyeom, I..” You could feel it on your tongue, you wanted to, but you were scared. What if he felt like he just wanted to be friends and he hadn't meant romantic feelings? That'd surely crush you. “Yugyeom... I-I feel the same..” You whispered, searching in the dark for his charcoal black eyes, which was instant.
“You do?” He asked, and you could hear the hope in his voice, his grip then tightened and you slowly nodded, biting your lip as he leaned forward to press his forehead to yours. “Yes, I do..” You confessed and a small sigh left his lips in relief. “Thank god-” he cupped your cheeks, kissing you deeply once, twice, three times, over and over.
And you weren't complaining. You entangled your fingers in his hair, rolling over as he pulled you on top of him, but he wasn't advancing to any further activities than just kissing. He ran his hands up and down your sides where your shirt had ridden up, a hand coming up to softly caress your cheek after you'd pulled away, just staring at each other through the dark.
Small laughs left the two of your lips before a voice had cut through the dark, snapping the moment in half like a set of wooden chopsticks. It was BamBam.
“Finally.”
