The universe has a funny way of placing you in the right place, at the right time. This bittersweet moment when I found out my grandfather had passed away, while I was finally out in the world pursuing my goals and passions. We were on the active pursuit of all glorious things to explore through Paris, Valencia, Ibiza, Barcelona, the love of Spain. Our plane finally landed in a small, beautiful unknown town in Switzerland. I’ve never seen a place as magnificent as this before. It was tucked away in the nestles of nature and hidden from the rest of the world. And in one quiet moment of solitude, that was when the end of one life and the birth of another began. Nobody knows, even in moments of great despair, how incredibly grateful I am. Even from a great loss, only beautiful things came from it: The reminder of strong, undying love of a united family, untethering support coming together from all parts of the country, the reminder that life is too short and the gentle nudge that it should not be taken for granted. This privilege of a life you have, as you are here and alive in this moment, while others may not be as fortunate.
