Noël à Marseille : les automates de la Place Villeneuve-Bargemon dans leur bulle, les reflets dans le Vieux-Port (on entend les cloches des Augustins sonner), un Père Noël pêcheur et l'Ombrière sous laquelle un chanteur et un saxo reprennent "Let Her Go" de Passenger (dommage, obligé de leur couper le sifflet pour que la vidéo ne soit pas trop lourde et puisse être chargée !... La poupée rampante a été brevetée par George P. Clarke le 22 août 1871 sous le brevet américain No. 118,435.

Il s'agit d'une poupée mécanique à remontoir, conçue pour ramper sur le sol grâce à un mécanisme interne à engrenages. Son corps est composé d'un boîtier métallique contenant un système d'horlogerie actionnant les bras et les jambes. La tête et les membres sont faits d’un matériau ressemblant à du porcelaine ou du biscuit (céramique non émaillée), typique des poupées de l'époque victorienne. Une manivelle ou une clé permettait d’armer le mécanisme, après quoi la poupée avançait en rampant de manière autonome.
