Why is it your name "i am a gross candy?"
my nickname has always been candy, but i guess saying "i am candy" felt a bit empty for me. so my thought process was like this:
"candies are sweet, but i don't see myself as sweet, so instead how about gross? heck yeah it sounds awesome"
i wanted to go with something that was good but also bad?? i don't know really. i know it sounds terrible that i'm basically calling myself gross 😅, but i felt like saying "i'm sweet" wasn't really fitting me, i thought.
i know i'm not a sweet person because i have flaws. i can be selfish and quite lazy, so i guess saying i'm a gross candy was like saying "i know i can be good but i know i can be bad, i'm something in between"
...
and now that i'm saying this... i think i was reeeeally overthinking this user name back when i was 17 😂
don't get me wrong, i really liked the nickname and i still do! honestly i'm gonna stick with this online name until i come up with something better (and that is never)
i never thought something such as a nickname would have something like a story about autoreflection, i wanted a funny nickname like "hey how about a gross candy? because candies aren't usually gross!" or something like that 😂😂 but i guess this is what i've got
it's still cool tho! :)

The Masked Men
Matte black skin, only noticeable by the faint light of the lamppost they frequently linger next to. Long, bony fingers. Stoic wooden (wood, as far as we can tell) mask, painted with lashes of black, gold and purple, feathers dangling from it’s edge.
The Masked Men.
They only appear after midnight, eyewitness accounts state. Few have seen their skulking forms when returning home after drunken dorm parties with bitter breath and hazy eyes, walking back from the library after a night of tense studies, rushing to their beds after quick trysts with baited breath. You will only notice them by the faint moonlight that bounces from their leathery skin. And when you do see them, your eyes will trail up slowly, slowly, slowly, until they fall upon that ever still mask, two holes drilled too-perfectly for unseen eyes, a mask devoid of any mouthpiece (though, the masked men may not need one).
For all that we know they are harmless. They do not actively engage in bargains, they do not speak, they do not peek or promise. They stand, ever still, next to the lampposts- waiting, waning. Warning.
They will not harm you, but know that if you ever do see one, you are most certainly in grave danger.
It…will beckon to you. With long, sprawling fingers glinting in the starlight, it will motion you to come closer. You will be frightened. You will be scared. But you must follow it.
The Masked Men themselves are not harmful. What they signify, though, most certainly is. All those who follow have lived to tell the tale. Only some who have not have lived- or, some version of the verb, at least.
Upon following it, it will lead you home. It does not need an address, or directions, or help of any kind. It’s long, jet black legs will glide over campus at a pace that will be hard to keep for any human (but keep it you certainly must). It’s path may not make sense- they have been known to circle buildings up to 12 times, they have taken forests paths that wind around the edge of campus. They have stood in the central fountain for 20 minutes before moving on.
Whatever they do, follow without folly or fault, no matter what.
Upon your path, you will find that the creature will, at times, stop in its track and turn to face you. When this happens, there are a few things you should keep in mind:
1. Do not turn around to follow it’s gaze.
2. The Masked Man is not looking at you. We know not what he sees, but whatever it is means you harm in every sense of the word. What happens if you do look back cannot be commented on, for all current survivors were smart enough to not be curious.
3. Do not turn around.
4. With it’s masked face turned forward, it will begin to hum. A low, rumbling noise that will resonate in your bones and scatter your mind and heartbeat for a time. The air around you will turn hot enough to break a sweat, hot enough to burn. It’s skin will turn, slowly, a light shade of lavender. For how long it does this, the answer varies. Some have stood, sweating, confused, for hours. Some, no more than moments. Nonetheless, it will stop its hum, turn on the path and start the trek anew, matte black skin and cool night air restored.
Eventually, you will find yourself a few steps away from home. The Man will stand there, mask trained on your form, and will continue to do so until you cross the threshold. It will not ask for a favor, it will not speak, it will not want in return. It will wait, and it will watch. And when you find yourself, tired and dazed, in the safety of your home, behind your salt and iron, know that you escaped a fate more tragic than death. Breathe easy knowing that whatever hellish creature aimed to nibble at your heels was kept at bay with the help of this mysterious Masked Man.
We do not know who, or what They are. Are they benevolent, kind, unselfish? Many don’t believe anything of the Other can be such. Benevolence is not written into their nature. Why, then, do they guard us from such dangers? What powers could they hold to warn away monstrosities of the night? Do they save all, or just some? How do they choose? What lies behind the mask?
All valid curiosities, but the largest question lies in why the creature asks for nothing in return. A wise one knows that promises are rarely, if ever, given freely by the fair folk. Perhaps they have an understanding with the campus administration. Perhaps they’re simply bored. Perhaps they are manifestations of courage, boldly facing the terrors of the night that are all Else.
Or, perhaps, as some believe, they simply bide their time until they have a favor to ask, a request to be granted, a vow the needs to be fulfilled. And against the night they stand contently, knowing that their request cannot be refused- after all, they held your life in their bony hands.
And a life debt can either be paid with a promise, or with blood.

Do It Yourself Headlight Restoration To Avoid Its Discoloration
Today, most of the cars, trucks and other vehicle owners ask a common question that how they should clean of oxidized or yellow headlights to give them an entirely new look. An important thing in this case is that individuals not only require to clean them, but also should restore them with the help of a Do it Yourself headlight restoration kit. However, before you should step ahead to restore or clean them, you should understand their compositions and reasons for the oxidization or discoloration of headlights.
Reasons Behind Discoloration of Headlights
The discoloration of headlights usually takes place because of following reasons, which include-
Headlights comprised of polycarbonate plastics rather than glass. This plastic is hard, but is also porous, because of which you have to keep in a sealed condition.
Debris present in the road comprises of small rocks, pebbles and sand kicked up primarily due to ongoing traffic at the speed ranging from 30 miles per hour to 80miles per hour acts as a sandblaster for car headlights. Eventually, the debris chips the sealer of the headlights away from forming small cracks and dents. Later on, such cracks and dents begin to collect grime and dirt from the nearby areas.
UV rays of the sun combine with the acid rain, acid from the bugs and petrochemicals obtained from the asphalt present on roads damage the headlights of your car or vehicle, as similar to the cancer problem.
Thus, before you know, the nice crystal clear headlights of your vehicles become cloudy, foggy and yellow. In this situation, you should address the problem to restore the headlights otherwise they undergo heavy oxidization and form yellow color.
Restoration of Headlights
Once you collect data on the reasons behind yellowing or discoloration of car headlights, you should resolve the problem by following the restoration method. For this-Clean the headlights and seal them properly to get a long lasting result. Especially, you will expect to get the best result by choosing an effective method that involves the application of wet sanding method, sealing and polishing. On an average, you will expect to restore the headlights of your vehicles in one or two hours.
Steps Involved in the Restoration Process
Firstly, you have to tape off or mask the yellow colored headlights to provide protection to the paint job present in your vehicle.
You should start sanding the headlight lenses by using a grit sand paper. Alternatively, you may try for either of the dry or wet sand paper in this situation.
While you should do the sanding process, you should make sure of keeping the surface of the vehicle headlight in a wet condition by using a spray bottle filled with water or with the application of a garden hose operating very slowly.
After you complete with the wet sanding wash, you should clean the headlight with water and then polish it by using a preferable water soluble polish.
Before you should reach to the final step associated with the sealing of car headlights, you have to dry them properly. If possible, you should apply a blow dryer to make sure of avoiding any moisture on them, as a single drop of water may ruin the finish completely.
Finally, you should seal the car headlights by using a polymer sealer of a top quality.
