[Writing Commission] Chú chim trong lồng

Vào một ngày trong nắng, tình cờ thay ta gặp được chú chim nhỏ lộng lẫy hơn tất thảy. Lúc ấy trong ta nảy sinh thứ suy nghĩ rằng chỉ có sinh vật như thế mới phù hợp với một kẻ như ta. Và ta đã quyết định. Bằng mọi giá, chú chim nọ phải thuộc về ta, như cách ta nắm mọi thứ trong lòng bàn tay mình. Ta dành cho tạo vật xinh đẹp ấy chiếc lồng vàng, trao cho nó tước vị, thứ mà mọi loại chim chóc đều vọng ước. Nhưng thật lạ thay, sau chấn song quý báu, chú chim nhỏ chẳng hề run sợ rũ cánh, cũng chẳng cất tiếng hoan ca một lần nào. Nét dửng dưng lạnh lùng trải qua năm tháng khiến ta quen thuộc đến nỗi có khi quên mất mình từng có một con chim cảnh. Cho đến một ngày chú chim nhỏ xổ lồng…

Nàng mơ một giấc mộng xưa cũ. Quá khứ lùi xa đến nỗi chính nàng chênh vênh nơi đã từng là ký ức. Khái niệm thời gian đối với những kẻ có cuộc sống hầu như trường tồn trở nên nhạt nhòa còn hơn cả ranh giới giữa bầu trời và mặt đất vào một buổi chiều sương giăng. Trong rất nhiều năm tháng, nàng đã nghe nước chảy mòn mỏm đá, mây trôi nhạt cảnh đồi. Duy chỉ có mộng xưa vẫn còn đó.

Iwojima trong nàng, cho đến giờ để mô tả sau chừng ấy năm rời khỏi, thực sự không còn lại bao nhiêu. Ngày còn non nớt, nàng nhớ rõ bản thân đã luôn mong mỏi tới tuổi trưởng thành như thế nào, tựa như loài chim non háo hức trước chuyến bay đầu đời của mình vậy. Cho đến lúc thời khắc thật sự ùa đến, xô dạt nàng tới ngưỡng cửa của chiếc lồng son.

Phải mất thật nhiều năm sau khi thực sự ra khỏi Iwojima, sau khi nàng ngồi trên bục cao lẳng lặng nhìn xuống hết thảy hỉ nộ ái ố của những sinh vật được gọi là con người, nàng mới biết rằng hóa ra thứ luôn khiến mình trống rỗng suốt dặm dài năm tháng như thế gọi là tình yêu. Khuyển yêu tồn tại ngoài ranh giới con người có thể nhận thức trong quãng đời ngắn ngủi của chúng. Những giá trị chủng tộc của nàng coi trọng không phải thứ con người có thể hiểu được, ngược lại có những điều nàng cũng như những kẻ quá mạnh mẽ và kiêu hãnh kia chẳng mảy may bận tâm lại khiến con người đánh đổi mọi thứ chúng có để giành lấy. Não nề thay, đáng sợ thay. Tình yêu, khái niệm mà chủng loại hèn mọn đó mô tả lại là thứ khoan vào trái tim nàng một khoảng trống lạnh ngắt.

Nàng yêu Teikyo.

Nàng yêu chàng ngay từ ngày đầu tiên gặp mặt, ngay từ khi chính nàng còn không định nghĩa những xúc cảm trong mình bằng hai chữ ‘tình yêu’.

Nàng đã được nghe rằng lựa chọn của những nữ Khuyển yêu sẽ được ưu tiên khi Awaza cân nhắc việc ghép đôi các Khuyển yêu. Nếu như chàng đã hỏi ý kiến nàng thì chàng cũng sẽ điền tên nàng lên tấm thẻ như cách nàng đã làm, phải không?

Tiếng sấm nổ đanh trong cơn mưa xối xả một ngày trời chuyển dần sang tiết thu. Nàng giật mình. Lẫn trong tiếng mưa ào ạt đổ là thanh âm đập cánh vô vọng của chú chim trong chiếc lồng treo trước hiên có lẽ bởi đợt sấm bất chợt vừa rồi, tất cả xung động trong không khí đó đập vào thính giác tinh nhạy của nàng kéo đến một cái nhíu mày nhẹ. Nàng không thường mơ màng, giật mình lại càng không. Nhưng không khí trĩu nặng hơi nước, bằng cách nào đó đã kéo chìm nàng vào một cơn mơ ngắn từng xuất hiện cả trăm ngàn lần kể từ ngày nàng rời khỏi Iwojima. Vả chăng đó vẫn chỉ là một giấc mơ lạnh giá đủ khiến nàng run rẩy mỗi lần chìm xuống.

Điều cuối cùng nàng muốn nghĩ vào cái ngày nghe Awaza xướng tên đó là Teikyo đã lừa dối mình. Chàng đã dịu dàng đến như thế. Chẳng có lý nào để lừa dối nàng nhưng cũng chẳng có điều gì lại khiến Awaza đi trái luật lệ đã hình thành từ hàng trăm năm trong Khuyển yêu tộc để sắp xếp cho nàng thành đôi với một kẻ khác. Hitotsubashi, cái tên không xa lạ nhưng khiến nàng dửng dưng. Ngài ta có thể là Khuyển yêu mang trong mình yêu khí áp bức nhất, đến nỗi trong một khoảnh khắc nàng nghĩ mình quên đi cách hít thở. Dù vậy nàng chẳng có dù chỉ là một chút hứng thú nào với dáng vẻ uy nghi đầy kiêu hãnh đó của Ngài ta. Hitotsubashi khác biệt, nàng hiểu rõ điều đó, cũng hiểu rõ ngay từ cái nhìn đầu tiên rằng sự khác biệt đó mãi mãi không bao giờ là điều nàng kiếm tìm. Khuyển yêu tộc luôn là những kẻ kiêu hãnh và cứng cỏi nhất. Nàng cũng chưa từng cho rằng mình cần phải khuất phục trước một Khuyển yêu, ngay cả khi mối quan hệ ghép đôi mà dựa vào đó nữ Khuyển yêu có thể rời khỏi Iwojima thì chúng không có nghĩa là nàng phải cúi đầu trước kẻ sẽ đưa mình rời khỏi đảo.

Hitotsubashi muốn nàng và nhất định phải là nàng. Chiyoda hiểu được điều ấy vào buổi chiều Ngài ta đưa nàng đi, trong cách Ngài ta nhìn nàng, nhìn những Khuyển yêu khác. Lớp sóng thủy triều cồn cào dưới gót chân nàng, hối hả xô tới lại lui đi mang theo cát biển lăn tròn giữa dòng nước tung bọt trắng xóa. Cát bị cuốn trôi để lại nỗi hụt hẫng hệt như trong cõi lòng nàng đang lạnh dần theo từng cơn sóng xa. Hitotsubashi rời đi sớm nhất trong tất cả những kẻ trở về năm đó với niềm kiêu hãnh trong đáy mắt như đoạt được chiến lợi phẩm quý giá nhất sau một cuộc chiến. Nàng thậm chí còn không chạm mặt Teikyo thêm lần nào để trái tim chẳng thôi lưỡng lự giữa niềm xót xa không được ở bên chàng với cơn ấm ức dấy lên cùng suy nghĩ chàng thật sự đã không lựa chọn mình.

Không gì cả.

Có lẽ điều đó sẽ xúc phạm Ngài ta nhưng nàng sẽ thành thật. Chẳng có gì để dối trá khi nói rằng nàng chẳng cần gì khác ở Ngài ta ngoài một ơn huệ nàng nợ. Rời khỏi Iwojima.

Sự tồn tại của nàng đối với Hitotsubashi chẳng khác gì hơn một con chim kiểng thật quý giá, một chiến lợi phẩm có thể trưng bày, phô trương cho biết bao kẻ khác biết được. Giá trị của nàng nằm ở nhan sắc khó có nữ Khuyển yêu thuần huyết nào sánh kịp. Ngài ta đâu cần bận tâm rằng chính nàng căm ghét cái sự thật đó đến mức nếu nàng kém thông tuệ hơn thì đã tự tay hủy dung rồi.

Nàng không cần chúng.

Nhưng Hitotsubashi cần chúng.

Một sự tương xứng kỳ quặc trong suy nghĩ của Ngài ta đủ để giữ nàng lại bên đến hơn tám trăm năm mà không chạm vào nàng. Sự dửng dưng, lạnh nhạt, chưa từng thực sự cúi đầu của nàng vẫn được Ngài ta dung túng một cách kỳ lạ bằng danh vị chính thất chưa từng trao cho bất kỳ kẻ nào khác dù Ngài ta có bao nhiêu thê thiếp đi chăng nữa. Những cuộc viễn chinh dài đằng đẵng mà Ngài ta dấn thân không bao giờ cần nàng tham dự vào. Trong khắp lãnh thổ của Hitotsubashi chỉ cần biết tuân phục Ngài ta, tôn thờ Ngài ta, hy sinh vì Ngài ta. Hitotsubashi, một Khuyển yêu hùng mạnh và bên cạnh Ngài ta có một vị phu nhân với nhan sắc khiến tạo hóa cũng phải trầm trồ. Kẻ kẻ sẽ ngợi ca Ngài ta, ngợi ca nàng rằng đó là một mối quan hệ thật đáng ngưỡng mộ, thật xứng đôi.

Cũng thật nực cười.

Nàng thấy gì đằng sau những lời ca tụng đó? Là những chấn song vô hình vây hãm lấy nàng trong cái ngột ngạt. Nơi nỗi trống rỗng ăn mòn nàng, để nàng còn lại chỉ là chiếc vỏ kiêu hãnh xinh đẹp đứng bên Hitotsubashi. Ngài ta chẳng cần ở nàng một ý kiến, cũng chẳng cần thực sự nhận thức được nàng là ai ngoài chiếc danh hão phu nhân của lãnh chúa. Thứ Ngài ta cần ở nàng chẳng khác gì những vật khác Ngài ta sở hữu trong tay, phục tùng và hy sinh. Tất cả chỉ vì Ngài ta, mình Ngài ta. Chúng khiến nàng căm ghét, căm ghét vô cùng cái vị thế Ngài ta trao cho.  

Như chú chim trong chiếc lồng son.

Cơn mưa chiều chưa ngớt. Gió vẫn gào từng đợt lẫn trong tiếng đập cánh thê thiết của con chim trong chiếc lồng treo cao. Nàng dựa mình bên khung cửa để mặc nước mưa buốt lạnh hắt vào thấm ướt cả vạt áo choàng buông dài trên mặt sàn gỗ. Đôi mắt lơ đãng dõi lên phía chiếc lồng tinh xảo. Lạ thật, bình thường con chim kiểng vẫn chỉ lẳng lặng nhảy qua lại những bậc thang bắc trong lồng. Nay tiếng móng vuốt cuống cuồng cào lên từng gióng nan lẫn trong tiếng mưa kéo từng đợt cũng như cào vào lòng nàng.

Trong một khoảnh khắc nàng vô thức giơ tay lên hướng về phía chiếc lồng, cửa lồng chợt bật mở. Con chim nhỏ bé lao vút ra ngoài như một mũi tên rời khỏi dây cung chẳng hề chần chừ. Bàn tay đang giơ lên của nàng chợt hẫng một nhịp. Màu lông xinh đẹp của chú chim biến mất trong màn mưa trắng xóa. Không đủ xa nên nàng vẫn nghe được tiếng lông vũ của nó đập phần phật trong không khí, nỗ lực để thoát lên bầu trời xám xịt chằng chịt những giọt mưa đan, thấp thoáng những ánh chớp giật.

Nàng chợt cười.

Khóe miệng tao nhã nhếch lên. Thật là một sinh vật dũng cảm.

Có lẽ nào nàng cũng nên vỗ đôi cánh ủ rũ của mình một lần sau suốt hơn tám trăm năm ròng phủ bụi thời gian?

I miss my Hitoshi a lot I don't know if there are a Shinsou kin with my kin cannon but if you out there you kept me happy when Jiro cheated on me. Also you took care of me when I told you I age regressed. I remembered when you took me to your parents place and I was so shooked that Mic and Awaza was your dads.
