A/N: Hey lovely~ So I kinda went off track a little with this one and kinda focused a little more on Maria, the daughter, and not so much her fixing the problem and more her being overwhelmed by the idea of the multiverse. I'm sorry I went off kilter but I loved the idea of seeing how they would react in general to meeting their child.

Also, I've been obsessed with this song on TikTok so I had to name their daughter after it.

Okay, I guess If im gonna do this, I’m gonna have to start with the beginning, Hi I’m Maria O’ Hara and I’m-

“Kids, Breakfast is ready~!” A soft cheery voice calls out causing a groan to escape the teenager’s mouth. The sound of two pairs of feet book it past her bedroom door with the notable bang of one of them being knocked into the wall.

“Mami!” A teary voice of her seven year old brother yells. “Gabriel keeps pushing me into the wall!”

“No I’m not!” The thirteen year old cries out with a loud crack in his voice. “He keeps getting in front of me!”

“Gabriel, Ben, quit bickering and come here before your father comes down.” The gentle scolding causes the boys to continue their run down the stairs while Maria rolls her eyes and goes back to her diary.

Dammit, okay, we can work with this. Hi, I’m Maria O’ Hara. I’m 18 years old and I live in Nueva York with my mama and papa and my two brothers. I’m basically your normal teenager except for one-

“Maria?” a soft knock on her door causes her to call back through the door.

“Yes, Mama?” “Breakfast is ready, honey. Come on down stairs before it gets cold…” She can hear the cautious edge in her mother’s voice as she tries to coo her child down stairs.

“I’m on my way, Mama, just let me get finish getting dressed.” She cringes at the lie as she was already dressed and ready for her day. Maria holds her breath for a couple of minutes until she can hear her mom mutter a simple okay as the sound of heavy foot steps come up beside her.

The low baritone of her father’s whisper can be heard along with her mother’s worried tone as she can hear her trying to urge her husband down stairs to give their daughter some privacy.

Maria returns to her writing as she knows shes definitely on a ticking time bomb now that her father was up and down stairs. He was a strickler for spending meals together as a family and the only time he let go of that rule was when one was sick or when…Maria and Javi were in that accident…

She shakes the haunting image of Javi out of her mind as she writes.

I’m basically your normal teenager except for one thing. I’m Spider Woman, the one and only beloved hero of Queens.Two years ago, I gotten bite by this funky spider at my dad’s lab in Alchemax and I gained these awesome super powers. It was honestly the best thing to ever happen to me. I got to swing around and stop bad guys all before fourth period. The only person who knew was my best friend Javi-

“Maria!” A deep voice booms as Maria gritted her teeth. “¡Tu madre ya te llamó dos veces! ¡Baja y come!”

“Shit!” The teenager curses as she rushes to collect her stuff into her bag. The white and blue fabric of her spider suit shines at the bottom of the bag before her necessities get piled on top of it.

“¡¿Qué diablos dijiste?!” Her father yells as she can hear her mother yell at him. 

“¡¡Miguel, no te atrevas a maldecir en la mesa de mi comedor!!”

Maria hurries down the stairs as she listens to her family interact at the table.

A muffled voice that she figured was her mother scolds the angry man while a soft more masculine mutter apologizes. A couple of giggles can be heard before a stern voice scolds them as well for what Maria can hear, “Chicos, no le faltéis al respeto a vuestro padre. La única razón por la que tu madre puede hacerlo es porque me echará de la cama.”

As Maria makes it into the dining room, she laughs along with her brothers as their mom playfully slaps their dad’s arm. The tall dark haired man chuckles at his adorable wife before catching her hand and kisses it, causing the woman to smile with a love sick look in her eyes. 

“Eww!” Ben cries as he tries to block his vision with his toast causing the couple to roll their eyes.

Maria sits down beside her father Miguel and Gabriel as she starts to fill her plate. All of the children looked exactly like their father with only slight changes in hair textures and certain facial features. Ben, the youngest of the trio, looked the most like their mother with his eye shape and nose matching hers while the middle child, Gabriel, was a copy and paste verison of their father with only his mother’s smile indicating that they were related. Maria was a better mixture of the two with her mother’s height and face shape making her her mother’s “clone”, Miguel’s words not their’s. 

All the siblings would disagree as their matching dark brown eyes and their dark hair. They also had his temper. There wasn’t a single day that didn’t end without a fight. But they all loved each other despite the stress they put on their poor sweet mother’s heart.

“Yahooo!” The web crusader swings around the city with a laugh bubbling through her being as the adrenaline pumps through her veins. Today wasn’t that bad today when it came to crime. No cat burgalurs, no bank robberies, No super mutants, No robots, and No…

A shrilling laugh fills the sky as Maria lands on top of a building. As she looks around for the source of the noise, a figure flies over her. Several flashes of gold falls down onto the streets below and a series of explosions go off at the chilling sound of a woman’s laugh among the symphony of screams. The woman was flying on a golden glider looking device with a skin tight blue holographic suit with an orange cloak wrapping around her features with a devilish jackolatern mask on.

“Who the hell is that?” She asks to no one as she swung up to catch up to the maniac, “Hey Spooky!”

Maria sticks a web onto the glider and propels herself into the air before slamming down on top of the villain. The woman shrieks as she falls off her glider with the spider until the glider follows them down. The villainess throws a purple bomb at the girl before her glider catches her. The teenager shoots a web onto a near by building and catches the bomb. 

“No thanks, I’m not on interested in what you’re cooking.” She throws the bomb into the air before it explodes. However, instead of smoke, an orange portal appears as a strong suction causes the spider’s grip to slip and fly into the air. “Hey!” She yells as she gets pulled into the portal.

A scream echos through the Lobby as a flaying spider falls down from a portal. Hobie rolls his eyes while Jessica looks up unimpress. 

“Another newbie?” She asks as the spider girl catches herself on a walk way above the duo. 

“I don’t know.” The rocker mumbles as he tunes his guitar. “You know that they normally end up in some alternate dimension where the floor is lave or some shite.”

The spider girl looks around her in shock as she sees millions of other spider people walking around her and she begins to hyperventilates. “No no no no. Please Please don’t tell me I’m dead……”  

Jessica frowns hearing a young voice panicking and she whistles up at the girl. 

“Hey, Newbie! Come here for a minute.”

Maria swings down as the older woman takes off her googles, her warm eyes brings the younger girl to ease enough to ask,

“W-where am I?”

Hobie chuckles, thinking that the girl was confused after failing to jump. “You’re in the Lobby, remember? Didn’t Sunny give you a tour?” 

“Sunny? Whose that?” Maria looks at the duo confused as Hobie takes off his mask to look at the girl more closely. 

Jessica looks at the girl suspiciously as Hobie examines the masked girl. “Your suit is certainly different. It kinda looks like O’ Hara’s.”

Maria jumps at the mention of her last name and faces Hobie as her patience snaps. “How did you know that? And who are you guys and why are you guys dresssed lik-”

The manic girl halts as she hears a familiar voice call out from above. 

“Hey,guys!” The gentle voice calls out as she swings down from several platforms above with a friendly smile plastered on her unmasked face. Hobie and Jessica return her smile as she lands infront of them. Maria stares in horror as the duo greets the cheery spider.

“Oi, Sunny, whatcha swing up to,love?” Hobie jokes as he hugs the woman he viewed as his friend and sister figure. 

“Boss man sent me out to look at what fell through the portal while Lyla was rebooting.” She says calmly as Jessica scoffs. Miguel sending Sunny out to check something out? Nope, thats not how he ran things. He would rather send out everyone else before he would dare risk his sol getting injured.

“Boss sent you to check out a portal?” The beautiful woman asks as Sunny rubs the back of her neck, clearly leaving out some details.

“Well, an anomalous Hobgoblin managed to hack into Lyla’s systems and shut her down so it can escape…Our comms are down too..He said to get Hobie and Ben so they can investigate the scene actually…” The jumping spider admits as she feels her cheeks warm in embarrassment. 

Jessica chuckles at her friend’s confession as she remembers the new spider who was silent the whole time they were speaking.

“Oh yeah, well this new recruit came out of the portal.”She shrugs as she directed Sunny to the small blue spider woman. “You really need to give these new guys better directions for portal jumping.”

The now confused woman shakes her head as she looks at Maria before looking back at Jessica. 

“There aren’t any new recruits.” She states as she frowns at the still masked girl as she walks up to her. “Hey, whats your name, honey?” She asks in her familiar concerned voice that Maria just heard this morning.

It was her mother…well at least someone who looks like her mother. She was several years younger than her mom, clearly in her mid to late twenties. Other than that, she was her. Even down to the same facial markers and the always warm edge of her voice. What really drawn her back was the fact her mom, or this woman that looked like her was wearing a black spider suit like her own with white along her chest and inner lining of her limbs. 

“Holy shit…” The girl gasps at the woman before she slowly reaches up and removes her mask. Her dark eyes peers back at her ‘mother’s’ in shock before mumbling, “Mama?”

“Mama!?” Jessica screams in surprise before she quickly studies the now unmasked girl and the paling spiderwoman. The similar way their wide eyes meet each other while their matching jawlines stuck in an a gasps expression. They definitely looked the part…

(Y/N) was the first one to move as she slowly lifts her trembling hands up to the girl’s face and cups it in a gentle grasp. She carefully traces her features with a haunted look on her face, almost like she was looking for something in her face, or maybe someone. As realization forms in her face that this was in fact her child, tears began to bubble in her waterline as her lips trembled.

“You’re my baby?...I have a daughter…” She says outloud before gently tracing under Maria’s eye with a look of disbelief and love. Maria’s own eyes burn as she sees her mother’s face in her clone as she nods. “Yea…My name is Maria…Maria O’Hara.”

And with that new revelation, the cheery spider faints due to the shock while Jessica yells out for help while Hobie was frozen due to the fact that not only that Miguel O’Hara and his delightful sidekick have a child from a different dimension, but that she was actually hot.

Safe to say, Miguel was not happy. 

After Lyla successfully rebooted and came back online, Miguel went to dimension 1784-B and recaptured the Hobgoblin. He never felt such satisfaction than when he tackled the flying witch out of the sky and tore apart her glider with his bare hands. He wasn’t very pleased that the villain easily gotten her hands on one of the gizmos and some prototype traps he was working on, so he made sure that the femal hobgoblin would never dare attempt to do anything like that again.

.After he returned to the surveillance platform, his annoyance grew as he hears that not only did some spider woman he had no idea about came into the Lobby, but that some incident caused his sunshine to be taken to the infirmary. 

“Lyla,” The annoyed man calls to the AI as he walks towards the infirmary. A tiny version of his fur coat wearing digital assistant appears on his shoulder as he focuses ahead of him with a glare. He can practically feel all the blood vessels in his hand pop as clenched his fist as he thought about all the ways he was going to say to the woman who had the nerve to injure his amor. “Give me all the information on this spider.”

“Yes ‘Miggy’” Lyla teases as she pulls up the file. “Spiderwoman 1784-B aka Maria O’Hara. 18 years old and has been spiderwoman for 2 years. A student at NYU with an undecided major and lives with her two younger brothers, Gabriel and Ben O’ Hara and her parents…Oh Shit!” 

The miniature AI starts laughing as she clenches her stomach. Miguel growls at Lyla’s outburst and seethes. “What is it?”

As she recovers, she throws up a projection infront of him with a smirk. “Check this out. You and Sunny do get a happy ending!” 

Miguel freezes as his wide eyes look at the image infront of him with a tremble in his form. The image displayed was a family picture that was clearly taken at a high school graduation with a family of five huddled together with wide grins splitting their loving faces. The first to catch his attention was the vision of him standing beside a teenage girl with a boy no older than seven on his shoulders with a look of happiness and pride in his gaze as one arm was slung across the girl’s shoulder. He was clearly older than he was now, but the lack of red eyes and fangs made Miguel nearly not recognize him. Its been so long since he’s seen himself before becoming spiderman… The next thing that caught his attention was an older version of his beloved also smiling at the camera with a teenage boy on your side a gentle hand placed on his shoulder as the woman’s attention was focus gazing a her daughter with such joy.

The children were a perfect mixture of you both despite the obvious favour in appearance being on his side. He carefully examines each child and their features as he releases a shaky breath as a single tear escapes his eye. 

This was impossible…How can you two have a family somewhere in the spiderverse and he didn’t know? the two have a family…they got married…she gave him the most beautiful children he could ever dream of and they both weren’t spidermen…they met and fell in love with out the worry of the universe on their shoulders…But their daughter…Their girl has this…burden instead…

“Miguel?” The unease in the AI’s voice brings him back to reality as he rubs his eyes. 

“I’m fine.” He snaps as he materializes his mask back onto his face.

“So we are all connected by this weird multiverse of spidermen?” Maria questions as she quips an eyebrow as she looks at the other teen.

“Yep.” Gwen nods as she leans back in the chair. 

The group were huddled around the hospital bed as their cheerful friend laid in bed unconscious. Upon pouncing the new spider about her life and what life was like on her dimension, Gwen took the initiative and began explaining about the Spiderverse, careful to avoid talking about the girl’s variant spider parents.

“And this is a team of Spiderpeople that goes around and makes sure that the events of their life goes on course? Like the time police? Does that mean theres other versions of me? “ She rapidly askes the punk. The blonde chuckles as she can definitely see how much of Sunny was actually in this girl. 

“Yep and kinda like that. We make sure the canon goes as planned so your universe doesn’t collapse. And when it comes to the other versions of you…” Gwen looks towards the unconscious spider before meet her ‘daughter’s’ curious gaze. “If theres other versions of Sunny and Miguel, then there is other versions of you.”

“Wait. Is there a spiderman version of my dad?” She asks as the door opens.

Jessica looks up from watching her phone and smiles at Miguel while Hobie curses. Miguel’s mask fades away as Hobie begins to speak.

“Look boss, the kid didn’t mean to…”

“Are you alright, Maria?” Miguel’s uncharacteristicially soft voice interrupts Hobie’s defense as his ruby eyes locked on the girl.

His rapid heart flooded his senses as he looked over his ‘daughter’. She didn’t look like Gabriella like he thought he would, even though he already seen her face. She looked like his sunshine despite her having a majority of his features. She was his girl, his beloved’s child…

“Um yea…”The starstruck girl mumbles as she looks at the variant of her father. Unlike the unconscious variant of her mom, the age wasn’t the biggest indicate that he was different from her dad, it was the gentle red eyes and the fangs peeking out from his lips. “Holy shit, you’re cool…” She accidentially admits out loud which causes the man to chuckle.

“Oye, no maldigas delante de tus padres, pequeña araña.” He playfully scolds before he starts fiddling with his gizmo. “I think its time you head home now. Its almost time for dinner and I’m sure ‘I’ wouldn’t like for you to be late.”

A portal opens beside them as Maria smiles at Miguel. “Cool…can I have one of those?”

“Absolutely not.”

“Well it was worth a try.” Maria giggles as she walks up to the portal before looking at Miguel concerned. “What about that Hobgoblin? And about…” The teenager looks towards her sleeping ‘mom’.

“I took care of it for you and don’t worry about her.” Miguel chuckles as he gazes lovingly at his love. “Yo siempre cuido de tu madre, ¿no?”

Maria grins as she feels giddy over the idea that no matter what dimension, her parents will always love each other.

“Yep and word of advice, stop having kids after one!” She jokes as she steps into the portal and goes home.

A soft groan emits from the bed as Miguel looks up from his book. The sleepy eyes of his love meets his as he leans over and caresses his cheek. 

“Good morning, mi amor…you had a good rest?” He coos as he pushes the hair away from her face. 

Tears prickle in her sleepy gaze as the memory of her new friend came back. In a horse whisper, she tearfully asks, “Did you see her? Did you meet our girl?” A smile forms on her face as Miguel nods and rests his forehead against hers.

“Sí, mi amor. Y ella era perfecta.”

As the portal closes behind her, Maria looks around with a breath of relief as she sees shes in her bedroom back home. 

“Thank god that’s over-!”

Before the stress could finally leave her chest, a shattering sound of a phone screen snaps her attention to her brother Gabriel looking at her in shock. Maria looks horrified as she realizes she is in the middle of her bedroom in her spidersuit and unmasked infront of her little brother…

“SHIT!!!”

LOGAN HOWLETT - BONDING MOMENT

A TOUCH OF HOPE MASTERLIST | Chapter Seven

LOGAN HOWLETT - BONDING MOMENT

Nothing interesting had happened since that night at the bar. Logan helped Y/N get back to the school and to her room. He laughed at her silliness, which caught him by surprise. Logan wasn’t the guy to laugh around. He was usually stoic and grumpy. But there were some lingering touches here and there. And yet, their bodies were like two opposite magnetic poles, pushing away. The moment she closed the door, he sighed - relieved he didn’t do anything stupid but also sad that the night was officially over. 

The days went by. Logan and Bobby joined the Professor in Washington for another conference. The President wanted to meet Charles during a banquet. They were gone for a few days. Jean and Scott were still away with Remy and Hank. The school got quieter when some students went home for the weekend. There were only some kids that had a supportive system back home. Many of them were alone in this cruel world.

On Sunday, the day before Y/N became a teacher, she and JJ were sitting outside on a bench near the pond. She took him out to spend some time with him. He snuggled closer to her side. The weather got colder. Heavy clouds appeared in the sky. Halloween was approaching, and the students were excited about the celebration. 

“It’s going to be so much fun,” Jerome said with a wide smile. “I’ve heard you have to make your own mask. It’s a contest, you know?” he was ecstatic. “Everyone does it. The best masks will get some rewards. It’s mostly candy. That counts as a prize.” 

“Wow,” Y/N said with a chuckle. She was glad that the boy was happy at the school. “Have you been thinking about what you want to become? Or would you like some suggestions?”

He shook his head. “No, I think I know what I want to be. I’m not telling you. It will be a surprise.” 

“A surprise, you say? Alright, don’t tell me anything. I want to see what you will make,” she patted his head. “Otherwise, are you happy here? Do you have everything? Do you need anything?” 

He thought about it for a second. “I have everything. They gave me clothes and school supplies. Jean told me to ask for anything. But I can always come to you, right?” 

“You can always come to me, Storm, Kitty, or Logan,” she said. “You can even see the Professor and talk to him. He’s the one who created this school. He’s a good man.” 

JJ nodded. “Listen,” he turned his head to look at her face. “A few nights ago, I think I heard you giggle in the hallways in the middle of the night.” 

Y/N blinked, and she bit the inside of her lip. “Yeah,” she nodded and cleared her throat. “I went out with some of the teachers. We had a lot of fun that night.” It was half true. She omitted the part where she got drunk. 

He poked Y/N into her shoulder. “I’m eleven, I’m not stupid,” he said. “You were with Professor Logan. I heard you talk. Well, you laughed more than you talked.” That was true. Logan walked her back to her room. They talked, she giggled, and then the night was over. “By the way, he’s awesome.” 

“Yeah,” she smiled, nodding. “Does Logan teach you something?” 

“We have one history lesson a week with him. I like the subject a lot. History is fascinating. Plus, he knows so much about the First and Second World Wars. He gives us so much information and details. As if he was there. He’s strict, and we cannot misbehave, but I enjoy the lesson.” 

“I’m glad to hear that,” she said with a smile. A shiver ran down her spine. The wind got colder. “Let’s head inside and have a cup of tea. I think it’s going to rain. Or Storm is having a bad day, and she changed the weather to fit her mood.” 

JJ laughed. He stood up first, grabbed Y/N’s hand and helped her up on feet. He held her by the forearm as they walked inside the school. When she scanned his face again, she noticed the bruises were healed and almost invincible. He looked healthier. It made her heart warm. 

As they walked down the hallway, Y/N heard a whimpering sound. It was soft, girl-like. She frowned. Instead of going to the kitchen, she followed the sound. The boy was confused. He opened his mouth to ask where she was going, until he heard it too. 

Y/N walked to the lounge room, where she found a young girl sitting on the window still, silently crying. She was JJ’s age. She had curly hair and glasses on her nose. Her skin was light brown. 

Carefully, Y/N approached her. She didn’t want to scare her. “Hi,” she used a gentle voice. “Are you alright?” The girl's puffy brown eyes looked up. She shook her head and continued to cry. “Oh, come here, sweet angel,” she said. Her arms spread, and she waited for the girl to accept her hug. 

Surprisingly, the girl was immediately hidden in her arms, weeping into Y/N’s leather jacket. Y/N stroked her curly hair lovingly, letting her take her time. JJ took a seat on the couch and silently watched. 

“You can talk to me if you want?” Y/N said after another minute. “Did something happen? Has anyone been mean to you?” 

The girl's tiny fingers brushed away the hot tears. “My parents haven’t visited me for three months now,” she confessed. That broke Y/N’s heart. “They brought me here, and I never saw them again.” Her voice was low, sad. “They hate me for what I am.”

That statement broke Y/N’s heart. She understood the girl’s pain. Her loved ones gave up on her because she was a mutant. “What’s your name?” 

“Nova,” she said. Her arms were tightly wrapped around Y/N’s torso, holding her close. 

“Nice to meet you, Nova,” Y/N said with a smile. She rested her head on top of the girl’s. “Tell me, what is your mutation?” 

“I, uh,” she hesitated. “I can scream very loudly,” she said. “It can damage your hearing.”

Y/N tilted her head to the side, thinking. “Sonic screaming,” she said out loud. “That is an interesting mutation, Nova. You have powerful vocal cords, and I’ve never met a mutant with this ability.” It wasn’t a lie.  

Nova lifted her head and finally looked at Y/N. “You think so?” 

“Yes,” she said with a brighter smile than before. “Every mutation is unique, and so is yours. With learning and more information, you will master your ability and know how to properly use it. All you need is time, patience and practice.” 

Y/N’s goal was to shift the girl’s attention to something else. It was evident that Nova was agonising over her parents’ neglect. That’s why Y/N wanted to gain her trust, and maybe she’d feel more comfortable around her. 

“What is your mutation?” she asked. 

“I can create protective forcefields,” Y/N explained. “I am still trying to learn more about my mutation. I’ve heard the term Flyrokinesis, but some call it Flyrogenesis.”

“Is there a difference?” 

“Yes,” Y/N nodded. “Flyrokinesis means you can only control force fields. When you can create them, it’s called Flyrogenesis. I can do both.” 

“That’s so cool,” Nova sighed. “You can do so much good with your mutation. I only hurt people,” she said. Nova pushed away from Y/N but remained sitting by her side.

Y/N chuckled a little. “Well, it’s not as it seems. I hurt with my ability, too. It was unintentional, but it happened. That is why we need to practise and learn about our mutations. So we won’t hurt people again. We can use our abilities to do good.” 

“My mutation is elasticity,” JJ joined the conversation. He picked the right time. Nova’s eyes turned to him. “The people that fostered me thought it was disgusting,” he said. “Now I think my mutation is unique.” 

Y/N’s eyes moved to the boy. This was new information. He had never said anything about his parents before. Now she knew why. He didn’t have parents. He was in foster care. Even there, he wasn’t loved. Y/N wanted to run to him and hide him in a tight, loving hug.

“My parents have sent me here and never came to see me or take me home for the weekend,” said Nova. “I deafened my father in one ear,” she confessed. “He never looked me in the eyes again.” And she started to cry again.

“Nova?” another soft voice said from the entrance to the room. “Are you okay?” 

Y/N found three other girls standing at the door, watching them. The oldest girl could be thirteen. All three were different. One of them had cat-like irises. The mutation must have caused it.

“Yeah, I’m just talking to…” she turned to Y/N, not knowing her name. 

“My name is Y/N. This is JJ,” she pointed at the only boy in the living room. “Would you like to join us?” she showed at the empty couch. 

The girls walked inside and sat together. They introduced themselves, too. Jamie, Olivia and Kyra were friends with Nova. They all shared a room on the second level. At least these girls were the support Nova needed. 

Y/N and Nova moved to sit next to JJ. “You are the new professor?” Olivia asked Y/N. 

“Oh,” it caught her by surprise. Did the Professor announce it already? “Yes. I’ll be teaching English and Literature starting tomorrow. I got a few classes a week.” 

“Really?” JJ’s eyes brightened. “That is so awesome!” 

Y/N nudged his shoulder. “Thanks, buddy. I’ll be teaching you too, you know? We’ll have literature together on Tuesday and English on Thursday.”

“You haven’t been here long, have you?” Olivia asked. Her long blond hair was braided from the top of her head. She had colourful bracelets on her wrists. “I’ve been here for a year and noticed you a couple of times these past few weeks.” 

Two teenage boys walked into the lounge room. They stopped in their tracks when they found the place occupied. “Sorry,” one of them said. “We thought we’d be alone here at this hour.” Before he could finish it, another two boys walked in. 

Y/N raised a brow. Already ten people in the room. “What time is it?” she asked no one in particular. It took another five minutes, and another six children entered the room. 

“You’re the new teach’,” one of the older boys pointed a finger at her. “Cool,” he smirked. 

“I guess the word is spreading faster than you know,” Y/N mumbled under her nose. 

“No, she’s the one who saved Jerome,” a girl said as she sat in an armchair. She was at least fifteen years old. 

“I guess you have a reputation, Y/N,” JJ laughed when the kids around them started to talk about Y/N as if she was not there. 

The woman raised her hands into the air to stop the debate. “If you want to know more, you need to ask the source - that’s me. Please, stop discussing me as if I was not here, okay?” One after one, they nodded their head. “Great. Let’s start again. My name is Y/N. Do you have any questions?” 

“What is your mutation?”

“Is it true you will be our new teacher?” 

“Did you throw Professor Summers out of the window a few days ago?” 

That last question made her laugh. Obviously, they knew something happened. This was the perfect opportunity to talk to the students and know them better. She lived there for some time now. It would be nice to be part of their lives, be there for them. As she kept looking at it, she realised all these children stayed at school for the weekend. Some of the faces were familiar to her. They never left the school the whole time she lived there. 

They all had one thing in common - their families gave up on them the moment they discovered how different their children were. 

A frown appeared on her face. “Do you ever go home?” she asked gently. She wanted to know how many of them still had their parents.

They all shook their heads. “No,” said one of the oldest boys present. “Some of us have families on the other side of the states. Most of us are here all the time. They gave up on us.” 

“I’m so sorry,” Y/N sighed. “I know how it feels to be pushed away from your family. Mine got rid of me, too.” 

“Sure,” one of the girls scoffed. 

Y/N’s eyes found hers. “They locked me in an insane asylum because I… I killed my own little sister with my mutation,” she admitted out loud. “It was the first time I used the ability. Until that moment, I didn’t know I was a mutant. My mutation is forcefield manipulation. Even though it is a protective ability, I managed to kill my sister with it.” 

It was hard to admit it in front of a group of children. Y/N concluded it was better to tell the truth than to lie. What if Scott would open his big dumb mouth, and the kids would fear her? No more lying.  

“My parents put me into an insane asylum because of it, and they never came for me. Well, I believe they’d rather see me dead. I escaped the asylum and joined a group of terrible people. My decisions were not the best. I’m not proud of that part of my life.”

“Y/N was locked with me in a lab where they experimented on us,” JJ chimed in. The kids turned their gazes at him. He sounded like a grown man. “She was already there when they brought me in. I helped her escape. Later, Profesor Logan and her came for me and saved my life.” 

The silence that surrounded everyone was heavy. Some kids lowered their eyes to the ground, others closed them. They didn’t know what to say or if to say anything at all. The topic was heavy. Some could relate, and others were lucky to not experience anything tragic. 

“I get how you all feel,” Y/N said. “I know what it is like when the people you love get rid of you like you’re an old, used toy. I understand you feel betrayal and pain, even anger.” Her hand found Nova’s hand, and she squeezed it reassuringly. “But look where you are now. You all ended up in a school for mutants, where you’ve been given a second chance for a better life. This place is your home. People here care and want the best for you. I dare to say that this is your new family.” 

More silence followed. “I know I’m still a stranger to you, and you don’t trust me. That’s okay. Teachers like Storm, Jean or Kitty will be there for you. Please, just know you can talk to me, too. I want to help in any way that I can and know.”

Once Y/N finished talking, Nova wrapped her arms around Y/N’s waist and hugged her tightly. When JJ saw it, he did the same from the other side. The woman wrapped both arms around each child and smiled. The love she felt was immense. Before she knew it, more children approached her. They all huddled together in a big, warm hug. It was a beautiful gesture. 

Storm walked around the school, checking on the students. She stepped into the lounge room. Her eyes landed on the scene before her. She had to smile. Storm was lucky enough to witness the group hug. 

“What’s going on?” she asked softly.

Slowly, the children moved from the huddle. They went back to their sitting spots again. JJ kept his arms around Y/N while Nova grabbed Y/N’s hand and held it tightly. 

“Just bonding,” Y/N said with a smile. 

Storm’s lips reflected the smile. “That’s nice. I’m glad you are finding a way to their hearts.” 

Later that day, The Professor returned with Logan and Bobby from the banquet. They were back after a few days away, and both men couldn’t be happier about their return. Bobby missed Kitty. They’d been texting here and there throughout the time. Logan didn’t have the guts to call or text Y/N. He rarely used his phone. Also, he thought it would be weird. Charles could feel Logan’s faint anxiety crawling around him. He knew the reasoning behind it. The man’s thoughts weren’t quiet.

They drove to the school, glad this ‘mission’ was over. They didn’t expect to hear loud music roaring from the building. Logan tilted his head to the side, frowning. “Is that coming from the school?” Then they heard singing. It was like a live concert. “What’s going on?” 

Logan parked the car in the garage. They helped Charles out of the car and into his wheelchair. The singing got louder. It echoed around the garage. The students were singing a familiar song. Charles smiled and chuckled. When was the last time something like this happened?

All three went from the garage and got to the main level. The song changed. After a brief silence, the singing began again. The students were crammed in the lounge room, dancing around and singing as loud as their voices let them. When some kids noticed the Professor, they made a passageway for him and the other two teachers. 

Logan’s eyes widened in surprise. He found Storm, Y/N and Kitty in the middle of the room, surrounded by students, jumping and screaming words to the song playing. 

If you could see that I’m the one who understands you. Been here all along, so why can’t you see? You belong with me.

It seemed everyone knew the words to that song. All three women swayed their hips to the music, jumping around like all the students. They were happy, enjoying the moment. Y/N grabbed JJ’s hands when she started twisting him around. Her face was bright and cheerful. Even the boy was thrilled. 

She wears high heels. I wear sneakers. She’s cheer captain. I’m on the bleachers. 

This part was powerful. As if everyone wanted to scream the chorus as loud as possible. No one cared that the headmaster was present. But Charles had a big smile on his face. Yes, they organised events for the students, but this happened out of nowhere. It was special. It was a bonding moment for everyone.

“I love this song!” Bobby shouted, bobbing his head to the song. He started to sing the lyrics. 

Storm draped an arm around Y/N’s shoulders while Y/N wrapped an arm around her waist as they sang the song. One of her hands remained on JJ. They laughed at their silliness. Kitty found Bobby walking to her. She got excited and ran into his arms, and they swayed together to the song. 

Storm discovered Bobby a few seconds later. She stopped dancing, and her eyes found Charles and Logan. Her arm fell from Y/N’s shoulders, and she made her stop dancing. 

Y/N gasped. Her face heated up, and she quickly turned around to turn off the music. She had a remote control to the stereo. When the song was abruptly stopped, the students whined. It was evident they were displeased by the interruption.

“Professor,” Storm said his name nervously. “I’m sorry for this. We got carried away.” 

Charles laughed. “Oh, Storm, no need to apologise. I like that you all have so much fun on a Sunday afternoon. You should continue to have more fun.” 

Y/N was breathing heavily. Her chest was rising and falling visibly. It was quite a cardio. Her eyes met Logan’s, who had a grin on his face. He leaned against the nearest wall, crossed his arms over his chest and kept staring. When he licked his lips, Y/N’s eyes followed his every movement. 

“Well, the magic of the moment is kind of gone,” Y/N said. “But we had good two hours of this fun, right?” she turned to see the kids. They shouted affirmations. Some of them whistled.

“Okay, everyone, it’s time for us to end this session,” Storm raised her voice so everyone could hear her. “Thank you for being here and having fun. It’s time to get to your rooms and prepare for tomorrow.” 

Logan watched as Y/N hugged a few younger kids. First, it was JJ, which wasn’t surprising. Then, it was two other girls. That sight made his insides tingle. He felt love radiating out of her. It made him smile. When they separated, Y/N’s eyes were back on him.

He took a few steps forward while greeting some of the kids. “Are you trying to bribe them to like you?” he mocked her. 

“Are you jealous I’m giving my attention to them and not you?” she poked his bicep when Logan was close enough. “Or should I bribe you too?” 

“I’m not that easy, princess.” 

“What if I tell you I sneaked in some beer?” she raised her brows. 

He was impressed. “You got me. Wait, you want to get drunk again?” he asked. “I won’t be taking care of your ass next time.” 

Y/N squinted. Her body was ready to jump at him. Not because she was angry at him. She wanted to kiss that smug smile off his face. Last night, she imagined what his hands would feel on her body, how he would taste and feel. She pictured his hands exploring her naked body, his lips between her legs. 

“I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself,” she said. There was a teasing smile on her face. She walked past him and found JJ talking to one boy. She wrapped an arm around his shoulders. 

Logan watched her leave the lounge room with the boy. His mind was spinning. His eyes lowered and remained on her ass, watching it move with each step she took. 

A hand tapped his shoulder. Bobby grinned at Logan. “You got it bad, my friend.”

“Shut up.”

rindou quietly walked away as the group continued the conversation. something about koko's words made him...angry. for all everyone know, you were his. "fucking asshole." he muttered before starting grand theft auto 5 on his ps5. "hitting on my girl."

his girl? that made him freeze as the thought crossed his mind. everyone thinks that y/n was his girl. not ran's, not haru's, not even mikey's.

"ypu don't have to say that, rin. you need me , call me. kay?" you reassured him. “we’re still friends right? i mean, you can call me for anything.”

“yeah, okay.” he mumbled, a feeling he’s never felt bubbling in his chest. “sorry for scaring you.”

The perfect moment for a kiss

pairing: Xavier Thorpe x fem!reader

synopsis: Xavier, your best friend, comes over during summer vacation, as he always does. During his stay, feelings that aren´t so platonic get revealed.

“Alright, that was the last one.”, you turn to your friends. 

With the suitcases in the trunk of your parent's car, there was only thing to do before driving off for the summer. Hugging each of them tightly as you said your goodbyes. It would be great to not have to think about school for the next month, but you would miss the little group for sure. Letting your arms linger on Xaviers shoulders for a second longer before pulling away.  

“I can´t wait for you to come over. This summer is gonna be so awesome.”, you grin widely at him. 

“It will be for sure. Call me when you´re home?”, a half-smile played on his lips. 

“You know I will.” 

You pulled him close once more, kissing his cheek as you always did and waved to the others, who were getting ready to head back inside, before getting into the car. It was gonna be weird to spend the next weeks without him. Ever since you and Xavier had become best friends you would never go a day without each other. You were happy when he started to stay the holidays with you instead of alone and actually had something to look forward to every summer. Not that your parents didn´t care or were boring, by any means they did their best, but with Xavier it was just different. Especially this summer. There were a bunch of concerts and events happening and you managed to get tickets to almost every single one of them. 

On the drive home you concentrated on your music and texting. Your parents didn´t live particularly close to nevermore and having to drive all the way because of your father's fright of flying didn´t make it any shorter.

Once you finally did reach home it felt like forever until you saw Xavier again. Your mothers constant teasing making it even worse, but the day you wrapped your arms around him in at the airport it felt like taking a deep breath after holding it for just a bit too long.

The first days the two of you spent doing nothing, but when the weekend approached you spend most of the day in the next city, for some window shopping and a movie the both of you had been meaning to watch. 

Coming home late that afternoon you could barely feel your feet over the pain, but the energy from spending the day in the city was still buzzing through you.  

“Hey, I´m gonna go shower quick. I´ll be back out in a minute.” 

“Okay.” 

In the meantime, you started to unpack your loot to keep yourself occupied. Hearing the shower turn off, you gave Xavier some more time before knocking on the door to put away the last things. 

“Wow.”, the small containers clattered to the ground. 

It wasn´t the lack of clothing on him that made you take a surprised step back, the two of you had become comfortable with that long ago, but rather how close he stood in the now open bathroom door. Though now that you were looking at him everything just pulled you in. The way his wet hair framed his face. How his toned upper body flexed as he leaned his arm against the doorframe. The piny fragrance that always surrounded him entering your nose. You didn´t even realise how close you got to him or how your eyes locked in an intense gaze. 

"This would probably be the perfect moment for a kiss...", your eyes wander to his lips. 

"And we probably shouldn't waste it.", his rough hands cup your cheeks as if you would vanish if he touched you too hard. 

The two of you move closer and then there is no turning back anymore. Right as your lips meet in the softest of kisses, you´re pretty sure you can feel your knees buckle underneath you as butterflies soar up in your stomach. Too soon you separate again, shy smiles and deep blushes taking over your faces. Suddenly the floor had become more interesting than ever. 

“I um... I guess this also is as good of a time as any to tell you that I might... love you.”, there is a deep silence after you finish your sentence. 

It settles between you like the sinking feeling in your stomach. You go to sit down on your bed, picking at your fingers. Why wasn´t he saying anything? All of a sudden, a hand lays on top of yours, hindering you from continuing your actions. It takes all the nerves left, but you look up. 

“I love you too.”, his voice is quiet. Like he is afraid to admit his feelings out loud. 

“You do?”, you search for his eyes. 

“I think I have for a while." 

You release a breathy laugh. “So, if I asked you out to get drinks before the concert tomorrow as a date...” 

“I´d say that that sounds like a great plan.” 

He pulls you in once more to peck your lips, before you can´t hold back the wide grins anymore. 

“Dinners ready!”, your mom pulls you out of the moment. Squeezing Xaviers hand softly you let him finish getting dressed before you join your parents in the dining room.

My Review of My Hero Academia

Okay…okay…

It’s done. It’s taken me 10 whole years, but I finished Gintama. My long-running comedic/drama nightmare has come to an end until they decide to come out with another damn sequel. But for now, it is DONE. And now, I can finally sit down and make good on a promise I made with one of my best friends. I will now watch Hunter x Hunter.

Yeah, My Hero Academia has been around for a couple of years now. It’ll emerge every couple of years in the anime world and the manga has been a massive hit. Not as big as Demon Slayer, but then again, no one can be as awesome as Demon Slayer. I had my chance to pick this series up, but I picked Black Clover instead. I made my decision and I stand by it. But once I noticed this series had several films and over 100 episodes to its name, I thought it be best to save this anime for after finishing my long-numbered series. Once I was able to get through Gintama, we can set this up.

Quirks or super powers are in about 80% of humanity. These quirks can vary from being super flashy, awesomely strong…or it could be like the Crest Man.

I was going to make this joke one way or another.

Many of these people decide to become heroes, especially those with potential. Now what about those 20% of humans that don’t have a quirk? Can they one day become a hero even though they have no power to their name? I guess we’ll find out with a young lad named Izuku Midoriya (or Deku). He has no quirk, no chance of developing one in his later years, and yet still wants to attend an academy that’s specifically for those with quirks.

It wasn’t until he was given a chance by Japan’s #1 hero All Might who sees potential in the young Deku to pass down his powers to him. Due to an ugly fight a few years ago, All Might can only stay in hero form for 3 hours at the most a day. In the span of two episodes, Deku was able to go through 10 months of All Might’s training, inherit his power, and get accepted to UA, the academy for potential students with amazing quirks who want to become heroes. Let’s enter UA to meet all the special students and administration with amazing powers and see who’s going to be a smashing hero one day.

Do keep in mind that I’m only summing up the first couple of episodes from the first season here. Each season has much more going on as Deku and his classmates learn what it means to become a great hero.

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: You know, the five years of me not picking this anime up, I would take a look at these characters and say to myself, “Yeah, you’re totally voiced by this person”. Look at All Might, if that guy isn’t voiced by Chris Sabat this world doesn’t make sense. Oh look, it really is Chris Sabat! Hey, it’s a main girl and loved by majority of fans. Gotta be voiced by Luci Christian! It’s like I’m fucking psychic! Sexy big girl, gotta be Jamie Marchi! Wow! Strait-laced megane boy! My lady-loins are on fire so that could only mean a role by J. Michael Tatum. Okay, let me give it a try in the Japanese.

Screaming…

Nobuhiko Okamoto! I only need the word “screaming”. I didn’t need to look at any character profiles to know this. Thank God Bakugo’s screaming didn’t get on my nerves the entire time. I sometimes have a problem with characters who scream so much that you just want to rip their mouths off their faces. Bakugo…he makes me laugh. He’s a tsundere with a short fuse, what’s not to like?!

As you can tell, I watched the majority of this series dubbed. The cast had a wide variety of seasoned veterans and modern favorite voice actors. Juli Erickson was also in the cast for a short time before retiring from voice acting. I’m glad I got to hear her one more time. There was another replacement in the dub. Alex Organ voiced Mr. Aizawa for the first season. After that however, Christopher Wehkamp took over and has remained since then. Scheduling conflicts, I suppose. I wasn’t even aware of the change until I read about it.

Oof. Both the sub and the dub have some great people behind these heroes and aspiring heroes. Let’s just say I give a gold star to everyone here. Even Tomokazu Seki was in this series as the spotted seal hero Selkie. Love it. Love everything about it! Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

FAVORITE CHARACTER: I’ve gone through this over and over in my mind. There were a lot of characters I’ve grown to admire and ones I think are pretty nifty. I still can’t believe I was able to keep track of so many characters in this one series, but I think I did a pretty good job. Yes, I have a guilty pleasure for Bakugo. But that’s just it, he’s a guilty pleasure. I like him and am amused by him, but at the same time I can get annoyed with him. But if there was one character who I enjoyed the most out of all the characters that have appeared so far, it would be her.

Tsuyu Asui (a.k.a. Froppy; Tsu)

I love Tsu. She’s best girl. And that’s all there is to it!

DISLIKED CHARACTER: Ooh boy, you all knew I was going to discuss papa of the year over here! Long before I started this series, I was well aware of the existence of a shitty parent by the name of Endeavor. I thought if I sat through this long enough, I would switch my hatred from Endeavor to Overhaul. It didn’t happen. I’m still on this hate-train. Endeavor has had this unhealthy obsession and rivalry with All Might and wanting to surpass him. Thinking he could never reach that position of #1 hero, he stuck to the next generation by making it with another powerful quirk user and have babies.

He had a total of four kids. One of his son’s is presumed dead due to trying to impress his father (wait until season six for the truth). One of his son’s hates Endeavor for what he’s done to the family. His daughter tries her best to keep things together, but you can tell she’s feeling uber stressed. And (Shoto) Todoroki still has daddy issues. I guess you can chalk all of this up to these kids upbringing. Todoroki witnessed his father’s physical abuse first-hand as he was rough with trainings. Not only that, but the abuse of his own wife that led to her mental breakdown giving Todoroki his trademark scar. And somehow Todoroki’s eldest had the worst of it all. All he wanted was his daddy’s approval and was just left for dead. Again, season six has the answers there. Bottom line, Endeavor was a very bad father. But, he is trying.

You cannot expect your fully grown children to pretend that everything is okay now that you’re going to change and be father of the year. Natsuo was partially saved by his father and was unable to give him any satisfaction. And it seems like Todoroki is just using his father to further his quirk and can easily get into work study programs because of him. As for his wife, you know Rei may never forgive him for all that has happened to this family. That’s just my two cents on the matter. I think every one of the Todoroki’s might eventually forgive Endeavor…not the older two sons.

SHIPPING: Guys, seriously. There are more important things to discuss here than which characters should shack up. Japan has a severe problem with villains and these kids specifically signed up to be in an academy focused on serving the public as heroes.

And aside from a few dropped hints by Uraraka, I seriously find no other ship that could…

But aside from those two, this show is strictly about kids wanting to be heroes and let’s keep it that way.

ENDING TO SEASON ONE: It’s been well established since the beginning that All Might was one of the greatest heroes, if not THE greatest. A symbol of peace and justice! And now, he’s a teacher at UA. So, everyone pretty much wants a piece of him. During a field trip to a simulated area filled with terrains and weather patterns, Deku and his classmates were bombarded by villains. This is not a drill, these guys mean business and they also want All Might. While their teacher Mr. Aizawa was busy taking care of some of the bigger villains, the students were being separated so the enemies can learn about what quirks these kids have. Some of the more powerful classmates like Bakugo and Todoroki were able to get rid of their batch of baddies with little-to-no problem. Others, it was a little more challenging. Even Aizawa found himself in dire-straits. Meanwhile, where is All Might?

We all know about All Might’s injury. It’s just that everyone else isn’t aware of it and All Might goes to great lengths to keep it a secret. Rightly so! If it’s learned by the wrong people that All Might has at most 3 hours a day in hero form, villains will swarm the area to cause havoc. Thankfully, dude shows up in the knick of time before these bad guys could do damage to Deku and the rest. Unfortunately, All Might already saved the day in another area and is at his max of what he’s capable of handling. Now these villains don’t know the specifics of All Might’s power, but someone controlling them from the shadows dropped hints about All Might being weaker than in his heyday.

Bad guys Shigaraki, Nomu, and Kurogiri definitely put a dent in All Might, but All Might didn’t let up his bluff in front of the bad guys. But that steam coming from his body is not a good sign. And yeah, the only one who knows about All Might is Deku and Deku was worried about All Might dying on his feet or someone about to find out his big secret. Thankfully, Iida was able to escape and call for backup. The administration at UA came and they were able to put an end to the situation. It’s unknown how much extra damage was done to All Might and it seems like his time where he can spend in hero form has been cut drastically to only 90 minutes at the most. But for now, All Might and Deku can relax for a second knowing their actions saved a whole class of freshmen from being harmed or worse.

Now as for those bad guys like Shigaraki, who is filling his head with ideas that there might be something wrong with All Might? I guess that’s an answer to be filled in another season. Because now we’re about to head into a tournament arc!

Okay, good introduction to the students of UA. Get our feet wet with all the quirks the students have. Even though Deku isn’t a full zero to hero quite yet, he’s certainly one hell of a strategian when it comes to problem solving. And from here on out, the series gains more episodes. This season is the only one with 13 episodes. Every season from here on out will have 25. Just how many chapters are there for My Hero Academia?

SEASON TWO: One recap episode and one Anime Festa OVA later…

The entire school is about to hold their annual sports festival. This sports festival is a big freakin’ deal. Hell, it’s even a bigger deal than the Olympics! Okay, I wouldn’t go that far. The students have opportunities of being discovered by a hero agency and might even become a sidekick for a famous hero. Other opportunities also include having kids from the lower-level classes get nudged up to a higher-level class. After the events of season one, Deku and the kids of class 1-A were getting a lot of fame and news coverage as the students who took out the league of villains that infiltrated a highly secured building of UA. As for the sports festival, Bakugo took home the gold.

Pfft. Watching him bound and getting forced with the gold medal is truly a laughable moment.

This season, we learn about what’s driving these students to excel at UA. Uraraka wants to earn money to help her struggling family. Todoroki wants to escape the grasp of his legendary father, the #2 hero Endeavor. Iida tries following in his big brother’s footsteps in a bit of revenge after someone injured him. And Deku wants to make a name for himself as All Might’s power has weakened significantly. Again, Deku’s the only one who knows.

After the sports festival, the students end up as apprentices for either hero agencies or heroes themselves. This part of the story focuses on Deku learning to control his power and Iida finding the hero killer (Stain) who severely injured his older brother. Dealing with Stain was a very difficult task. Deku, along with Todoroki and Iida were all caught up in that fight. They beat the dude, but couldn’t get any credit due to bureaucratic issues with the police and certified heroes. As a repercussion, Iida ended up doing permanent damage to his hand and it might be the end of his career as a hero (unless the surgery is a miracle). They make this a big deal here, but I don’t recall hearing any more on that subject from season 3-6. Moving on!

The end of this season consists of Deku learning the truth about his power One For All and the originator All For One. This guy is still out there, he’s a dick, and guess what, he’s the head of that league of villains that was behind the attack at the end of season one. Other than that, it’s exam time for class 1-A. Let’s have them fight against the teachers! Aside from two teams failing, everyone did pretty well considering they were up against UA’s greatest. And this was to be especially difficult for Deku as he had to be partnered with Bakugo and fight against All Might.

The final episode consisted of Deku being cornered by Shigaraki. Yes, the guy behind the Nomus and the attack from season one’s finale. We finally see his face and we get a bit of foreshadowing of things to come from the League of Villains. The heinous group has recruited several new villains who we will see more of come season three. Speaking of…

SEASON THREE: It’s time for summer training camp. And for funsies, let’s add class 1-B too. These kids will be pushed to their limits to enhance their quirks. Because while everyone has improved in other departments, their quirk powers haven’t moved much since the beginning of the semester! Gee, wouldn’t it suck if a bunch of villains come in and ruin everything? The League of Villains has arrived with new powerful members including Dabi and Toga. Their target this time is Bakugo! Their attack on the UA students kinda broke a lot of morale with not just the students, but the faculty as well. The end result was that many of the students and the faculty watching over them wound up injured and Bakugo was kidnapped.

Saving face didn’t go as smoothly as anyone would hope. Deku got four of his classmates to defy orders to try and infiltrate the League of Villains to save Bakugo. At that very same time, several ranked heroes did their own rescue mission. It did not go well for either side! On the plus side, Deku and friends were able to save Bakugo without breaking the law by fighting crime without a license. But then All For One wrecked the whole place. He took out so many villains and heroes in his way. I think he might have killed one of them. Didn’t matter to him anyways because he was after All Might! This fight took everything from All Might.

All For One exposed All Might to the entire world his ugly secret. Not only that, but dropped an unfortunate fact bomb involving All Might’s sensei and Shigaraki. And to top it all off, injured him so bad that All Might will never fight crime again. After all of that, the students of class 1-A were highly requested by the school to live in the school dorms from now on. Most parents agreed to it, though Deku’s mother was the most worried. Long story short, he’s living in the dorms now. Not before seeing this poor woman cry again.

The next big arc after the fall of All Might was the provisional hero license exam. We meet a lot of brand-new soon-to-be heroes much like the students of UA from other schools across the land. The end result of that exam, everyone except two students from class 1-A got their provisional license. And surprisingly those two were Todoroki and Bakugo! Bakugo is so obvious that I don’t even need to waste the time explaining why he flunked. Todoroki on the other hand had someone from another school get under his skin with a comment likening him to his father Endeavor.

While Bakugo was angry about not passing his provisional license exam, something else has been grinding his gears and for some time at that. Bakugo’s anger hits fever pitch when he confronts Deku alone after the exam about his relationship with All Might. And throwing punches! Despite that thick layer of anger he puts up, Bakugo is a sad boy who loves his favorite hero All Might. He was of course jealous that Deku got to be his protégé but guilty because Bakugo thought it was because of him being kidnapped that caused All Might to lose his powers permanently. All Might reassured the boys of everything. And then the boys were on lockdown for breaking curfew to fight. In the meantime, the League of Villains is still at it despite All For One being in a maximum security prison. Toga infiltrated the hero provisional license exam by posing as another student. Shigaraki is growing more menacing. And then there’s Overhaul…ooh boy, I can’t wait to talk about this guy in the following season.

And class 1-A got to meet the top students of the third-year class (a.k.a. The Big Three). The strongest of the three (Mirio) wiped out the entire class by himself. Big difference between the power of the first years and this pant-less wonder!

Okay, this season had its ups and downs. But the ups were definitely worth it and we had a big payoff when it came to scenes involving All Might and All For One. Now let’s see what’s going on with that movie that came out around the same time.

TWO HEROES: We got a glimpse of what to expect with this movie in an episode during the third season. Meaning, they gave us a filler in the middle of a tournament arc and are introduced to a movie character for five seconds. Let me guess how this movie goes; this in no way connects to any villain currently in the series, there is no character growth, serves no purpose to the main plot, and the new character introduced is the bad guy.

Most of what I said was pretty true! Deku gets invited by All Might to go with him to a special island that is full of people who manufacture AI technology. Most of the class ends up there under some special circumstances and yes, it’s just the popular ones fans like most. All Might’s friend from his younger days David wanted to help All Might regain his strength (he just doesn’t know the true story of why he’s losing his strength). And David ends up in cahoots with terrorists that took a whole island hostage. And these terrorists are also connected to All For One. Okay, I was wrong, All For One is somehow connected (or at least mentioned by the leader of the terrorists).

SEASON FOUR: So, it’s not just Bakugo that caught onto Deku and All Might’s relationship. It leaked to the press! One reporter knows there’s a protégé out there. And thankfully he has the right mind to shut up about it! Onto the main stuff! Deku and the rest of class-A are about to go through work study programs. And the League of Villains are ready for their next move. But right now, we gotta watch out for a lone Mafioso causing mischief.

Deku winds up doing a work study with All Might’s previous side-kick Sir Nighteye. Several other characters like Kirishima, Tsu, and Uraraka also got a chance for a work study program. Deku unfortunately got a lot thrown at him in the drama department. He learned that Nighteye had a falling out with All Might due to the fatal injury All Might acquired and made worse once he decided to give Deku is One for All power.

Next, all of these students I mentioned, plus their mentors, and the three 3rd years are all caught up trying to take down a lone Mafioso and some of the League of Villains in order to save one little girl. Overhaul was trying to use this young girl (Eri) and her power in order to suppress and end hero powers permanently. Eri has a quirk that can rewind a person’s body. But due to her age, she’s unable to control it properly and that has caused a lot of mental damage to her. Overhaul is quite the disgusting little shit abusing this poor girl. Thank goodness after this long, hard-fought battle, the heroes were able to prevail and save Eri.

But at what cost?

Deku was able to survive with not so many injuries to his person. Some of the other heroes and classmates involved in the giant raid were not so lucky. Kirishima and Fat Gum sustained heavy injuries. Mirio’s power might have been altered permanently due to Overhaul and his gang having these serums that can erase quirks. And Eri (the girl they all saved) is forever haunted by the psychological horror she’s endured. But worst of all was Sir Nighteye. During the fight between the heroes and Overhaul, Nighteye literally got impaled and was at death’s door when All Might, Deku, and Mirio spoke to him. Up to this point, we really never saw death strike any of these characters. This was a heart tugger! Shit is getting real now for Deku. All I can say is…wait until season six. Meanwhile, Overhaul not only got his ass kicked by Deku, but was left powerless and crippled by Shigaraki.

The last half of season four revolved around UA putting together a culture festival. This is both a wise and stupid decision. Wise because these students deserve a little fun after everything the students of UA (especially class 1-A) have gone through. Stupid because UA has been a giant target for villains since All Might became a teacher. And if one little thing happens with a villain coming near the area, the festival is going to be called off. At that exact same time, a new villain emerges and wants to break into the festival. Of course, he does!

This guy is a tea-drinking gentleman with a side-kick I’m so not comfortable seeing together with him. I’m sorry, but this combination makes me feel a little ill inside and confused. Thankfully, Deku happened to be in the area and prevented the festival from getting shut down. Not only does he want to give his school this moment of peace, but because Eri is coming, he wants to make sure she has a great time. Thankfully, Deku was able to break through to this confused villain and he turns himself in with no more damage done. But most important for Deku, the festival went off perfectly. Class 1-A was commended for their performance on stage and Eri was able to smile and enjoy herself.

We end the season off with some severe changes. First of all, Eri is going to attend UA. She’s stable enough to stay out of the psych ward and is all healed up. Deku and Mirio must protect this girl’s smile! And then my question was answered. I thought to myself, will there be another #1 hero now that All Might is retired? Yep, there’s a new top 10 and a new #1 with Endeavor taking the top spot. Will the world see him as the new symbol of peace? Endeavor is put to the test when he and #2 hero Hawkes got attacked by an overpowered Nomu. This was a tough fight as Endeavor was tossed around a lot. Thankfully, he won. He went beyond, PLUS ULTRA!

Also, is anybody else thrown off by the Endeavor fanboy? It doesn’t help that he looks like Natsu from Fairy Tail, but did the English version REALLY have to get Haberkorn to play this guy too?

HEROES RISING: In the second movie, it almost looked like we were getting some action between the UA students and the League of Villlains. In actuality, the villains of this movie get into an alliance with Shigaraki. These new villains end up attacking a lone island that Deku and his classmates just happen to be on as part of hero work. The villains want this one kid on the island because of this special quirk he possesses. We get some pretty primo fight scenes where Deku and Bakugo are actually working together to beat the villains. I’m going to be legit and ask, did anyone fall for that shit about Deku giving his One For All power to Bakugo? Yeah, me neither. There are two seasons after this movie. No way in hell Deku is losing his power this early in the game.

SEASON FIVE: Endeavor’s fight with the superpowered Nomu came with a lot of baggage. His popularity as the new #1 hero is steadily rising. It’s just that people really saw him get his ass kicked pretty badly. And now, dude has a pretty gnarly scar on his face. Just like his son! I almost want to say something here, but…nah, bad taste. On top of that, Endeavor is now going to start acting like a real father instead of the bastard he’s been up to this point. Meanwhile, Deku has been getting visions during his sleep of the past One For All users and kinda using his power while sleeping. It got worse when his powers decided to go haywire during a class competition with class 1-B.

I will say this. The stuff with Deku and controlling the powers of One For All was the only interesting part of the first part of season 5. I checked out when there were many episodes dedicated to class 1-A and 1-B fighting each other. I know several class 1-B classmates showcase their quirks in a big way in the following season, I just wasn’t a fan of this arc of the story. In the second part, work studies seem to be back in effect. And now that Bakugo and Todoroki finally obtained their licenses, they can finally catch up to the rest of their classmates. Geez, you only now realize that we’re halfway into season five with 100 episodes in and these kids are still only first years. Deku ends up joining Todoroki and Bakugo to work study under the world’s #1 hero…the current one.

Okay Endeavor, let’s see if you can redeem yourself a little more. Actually, we only got a few episodes dedicated to Endeavor, his family, Deku, and Bakugo. There was an altercation between some rando villain and Endeavor’s son Natsuo. It happened, Natsuo’s safe, we moved on. Okay, now it’s time for My Hero Academia to turn into My Villain Academia. The League of Villains found themselves in severe trouble as another group of baddies ambush them. This was an ugly showdown as it pushed many of the league members to their breaking points. Himeko almost died and Shigaraki was pushed to remembering his own past.

Yeah, we got the typical backstory for a villain of Shigaraki’s caliber. Misunderstood child, abusive father, enabling family members to abusive father, accidentally murders the entire family, yep, it’s all here on the checklist. Several seasons prior to this moment, we learned that Shigaraki’s paternal grandmother was Nana Shimura. Yes, the same Nana Shimura who was All Might’s mentor and previous carrier to the One For All quirk. Well, Shigaraki’s father was really resentful about his mother because he felt as though he was abandoned by her. That birthed a hatred for heroes and he would get angry if his children mention heroes or wanting to be one. So, there’s that. Shigaraki wound up gaining a quirk and much like Eri in season 4, his quirk went haywire and it took out his entire family. After being a sudden orphan, no one came to Shigaraki’s aid. Not one single hero! All For One did however. He took the boy in, gave him hands of his family members, and gave him a new name and purpose in life.

Shigaraki, while almost broken to the point of no return, he took out Re-Destro and his gang of baddies. This led to an alliance. Shigaraki’s League of Villains and Re-Destro’s Meta Liberation Front have joined together under a new name, the Paranormal Liberation Front. We end the season with class 1-A showing off what they’ve learned from their work studies. Oh, and Hawkes is still infiltrating the newly formed league. Okay, I’m going to say it. This season was pretty lousy. Don’t get me wrong, I liked several moments in this season including Endeavor trying to atone for his sins, Deku’s new ability, and the My Villain Academia arc. But that class 1-A vs. class 1-B crap was for the birds.

There’s a third movie sometime after this. I really don’t feel like talking about it since I felt so disinterested with it. Blah, blah, Deku is wanted by the police, blah, blah, big fight, blah, blah, no one’s going to die here!

SEASON SIX: Hey, I caught up when it was airing!

Shit’s about to go down! There’s a heavier tone in this anime everywhere you look. Even in the eye-catches halfway through an episode. The professional heroes, teachers from U.A., class 1-A of U.A. and even a few other students are all part of this sting operation to take down the newly united villain squad, the Paranormal Liberation Front. Besides going after that group, some of this sting is to get this doctor who was behind the creation of the Nomus and is also shielding Shigaraki until he’s 100% and then some. Shigaraki was in rough shape near the end of the fifth season, so he's being constantly monitored. But during the sting, Shigaraki awakened.

The awakening of Shigaraki led to a domino effect of destruction everywhere. One of the giant villains couldn’t be controlled and ended up wrecking a lot of pro-heroes. Shigaraki’s decay power went berserk and took out the entire area. Deku, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Endeavor went toe-to-toe with Shigaraki and ended up putting a dent in him. Shigaraki is terrifying now, but because he wasn’t finished with the doctor’s experiment yet, his power isn’t what it could be. That’s when All For One took over Shigaraki’s body for his own…even though he’s in super jail. Yeah, I know that doesn’t make a lick of sense, but just roll with it because Shigaraki is going to be a puppet for a while. Moving on!

And now for the moment I’ve been anticipating! League of Villain alumni Dabi comes in to drop a bomb on the Todoroki family. After Shigaraki ended his rampage, Dabi came in to break the news to not just Endeavor and Todoroki, but to the entire world. He put out a video prior to the current chaos to announce that Endeavor, the #1 hero is his father and went into detail about what a horrible father he was. Dabi (or Touya Todoroki) was Endeavor’s eldest son who was thought to be dead. This broke Endeavor inside causing him to look upon both of his sons fighting. Yes, I’ve been looking forward to this story. The Todoroki family story intrigues me.

This giant fight that lasted several episodes (if not half of the season) is finally coming to an end without a happy ending. It’s much worse than anyone jumping into the anime without reading spoilers could have imagined. Many characters got messed up badly. Worse than in any other season. Deku winds up in a coma. Bakugo was impaled, but survived. Mr. Aizawa sliced off his own leg to prevent losing his quirk from one of those quirk deleters that got Mirio the other season. Midnight and several prominent ranked heroes are dead. On the antagonist side, Twice ends up dying by Hawkes after he admits to betraying the front. Many of the villains were arrested including the doctor, Re-Destro, Mr. Compress, and Machia. Himiko is on the loose. Shigaraki ended up torching several prisons releasing many convicts with powerful quirks on the public along with All For One. This leaves the public to wonder if they can ever trust heroes again. If it took all of these heroes to take down all of these villains and they still couldn’t complete the mission, what good are they?

That’s not my take, that’s just public opinion…except the public was a lot crueler when it came to the heroes.

AND NOW THE START OF THE FINAL ARC: With All For One taking over Shigaraki’s weakened state, he can get what he truly wants. The quirk, One For All. Shigaraki mentions it during the giant battle during this season and it catches the attention of Endeavor, Hawks, and even the angry media demanding answers about everything that has happened. Deku decided to make some pretty big decisions once he got out of his coma. Up to this point, Deku’s quirk was only known to All Might and later on Bakugo. Now, he decides to let the rest of his classmates know before he leaves U.A. Deku teams up with All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, and Jeanist to take down the rampant crime going on everywhere. Since season 5, Deku has been seeing past wielders of One For All and slowly unlocking their powers. A lot is riding on Deku with this ultimate power as he can’t pass the power down like All Might did. His life expectancy might be cut short. Kinda like Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan. And he’s getting prepped to take down Shigaraki with no regrets.

I make the Eren Yeager reference here because this is the part of the story that things take a harsher, somber-er tone compared to previous seasons. This includes the opening theme, ending themes, eye-catches, the preview, the background, the music, and Deku.

Endeavor also made a promise to his family that he will take down Dabi (Touya). But for now, we are focusing on Deku teaming up with the top 3 heroes and All Might to take down every kind of crime from small stuff, misplaced anger, and anything involving the escaped convicts from the several jail breaks. With all of the other One For All quirks unleashed, Deku is able to make use of every one of them with his mission. It came in handy when going up against a former hero and present-day convict Lady Nagant. She is one of the escaped convicts. While All For One told nearly all convicts to do as they please, he had other plans for some special ones. He used Nagant to try and take down Deku. But Deku got through to her near the end of their match and it looked like she was going to see life for more than what she was used to. Unfortunately, things have a funny way of working out when All For One is involved.

He planted explosives on Nagant. I’m pretty sure she’s a goner. This did not sit well with Deku. And neither did All For One’s taunt where he copied All Might’s infamous line, “now it’s your turn”. Rogue Deku is in quite the state. And now, let’s add his classmates to the mix. They’re going to bring him back to the academy by any means necessary. One Deku with 7 quirks vs. 19 classmates of his. With many flashbacks and a lot of push and pull, the class was able to subdue Deku and bring him back to U.A. which is currently being used as a refuge area. However, the people are not liking the idea of having Deku in the same place as them because Shigaraki’s looking for him and he has One For All. Thankfully, some kind words from Uraraka and a few supporters, the angry crowd came together to let Deku in.

All For One and Shigaraki’s big threat seems to be looming closer. It’s hard to nail down how long the heroes have. All Might wound up getting this information from the hero-killer Stain. Yeah, you remember him, right? The guy that wrecked Iida and his brother back in season two. I remember Stain always wanting to kill All Might. But seeing All Might the way he is now, either he doesn’t know it’s really him or refuses to believe that’s really All Might. Well, rest up class 1-A because season 7 is gonna be a doozy from what I’ve heard. At least it will be for Bakugo from what I’ve heard. Oh, and we meet America’s #1 hero for a sec, Star and Stripe (voiced by Romi Park).

Wowee-wow-wow-wow! I did not expect to like this series the way I did. I mean, I really do love My Hero Academia. I know I had the opportunity to watch this but chose to watch Black Clover instead. I don’t regret that decision; I just wish I got to watch this a lot sooner and maybe start on the manga. Now that doesn’t mean this entire series is flawless, far from it. There were some seasons that fell flat on its face. I think we all can get on the same page of which season was the one that is the flat can of soda out of this six-pack.

The answer is season five. It’s always going to be season five. No amount of My Villain Academia you throw at the audience is going to undo that. But I suppose that’s where that arc landed and call it bad timing. Long-running manga series have really awesome arcs and really slumpy arcs. Case and point, the anime Food Wars is a good example to bring up here. Their first 2 seasons were really good, but after that is when things started falling by the waist-side. When it comes to My Hero Academia, I had several hits of highs and lows watching. The field trip at the beginning season three, the culture festival at the end of season four, and the majority of season five were my lows. I only put that moment in season three up as, I have to be honest in this review. That arc actually got really good faster than I thought. The other two I mentioned just dragged on. Especially the class competition! I love watching class 1-A in action, but this was just so exhausting to sit through.

I think I’ve beat that dead horse enough. Let’s talk about the characters. I’ve always had the hardest time keeping up with the many characters an anime might have. Especially animes that are set in school and we focus on one particular class. Despite my love for the series Assassination Classroom, I could not remember every single person from that class. With My Hero Academia, I think I was able to recall every classmate. Just class 1-A though. Maybe it’s because of their quirks, some of their looks, or their quirky behavior. The same can be said about characters outside class 1-A like the professional heroes, the villains, the townspeople, Bakugo’s mother…yeah, you have to see the woman who gave birth to a feral, screaming grenade of loud noises.

I do have a legit question for manga readers. Do these kids finally become second years at U.A.? You don’t notice that these kids are in the same grade until it’s season five and you see a Christmas episode and you’re like, “Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me, they’re still in their first year”. Don’t answer that. I know they’re probably going to age soon. Okay, enough of my dumbassary here. If you have a lot of time on your hands, I give this a full recommendation. If you’re able to sit through 100+ episodes of this, yes definitely give it a watch. And also keep in mind that Studio Bones animates this and they’re the ones who did Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mob Psycho 100, and Soul Eater. So, that’s a pretty big incentive.

I know I said some pretty rough things about several moments of this series. But here’s how I would break it down. Season one was a nice start as we get an introduction to Deku and what he’s going to go through to become a hero. Season two was wonderful with more of a build-up to the antagonists of the story. Plus, a tournament arc! Season three had a bit of a slow start, but once you get to Bakugo’s kidnapping and All Might vs. All For One, this season was a sure-fire hit. Season four starts great, but it hits a lull spot. Okay, I guess I can accept that as these kids do deserve some time off. Season five had some good moments with Deku learning a little more about the previous users of One For All and the My Villain Academia arc. Other than that, this season was nothing to write home about. Season six will rock you like a hurricane. It’s almost a little overwhelming in the first half with all of these heroes and villains going up against each other. But never a dull moment.

If you would like to watch My Hero Academia, several sites have the series streaming including FUNimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. It is also a staple on Adult Swim’s Toonami, so if it’s on, check it out.

Okay, now that I finished this long series, I think it’s high-time I watch Hunter x Hunter Urusei Yatsura! Huh? Okay, guess we’re doing something else instead.

"Louie..." Scrooge begin, he never thought of reaction of them being in that way.

"NO!" Huey finally said something, he always wanted to have a mother, but he's the oldest triplet, and he'll do everything to protect the youngers while uncle Donald isn't here, and he already lost his patience.

Huey take his phone and opened a selfie with uncle Donald and them. He show it to Della and Scrooge pointing to Donald. "Are you looking at him? HE IS, IN THE TRUE, OUR DAD, OUR MOM, OUR UNCLE AND BEST FRIEND, HE NEVER LEFT US ALONE AND NEVER WILL DO THAT! "

"Maybe you two are right..." Dewey realized sadily "You choosed the rocket than us, you never loved us and will never be our mom. And I dreamed to be like you. I'm ashamed." With this, they left the room.

you know this HAD to be the number one. i cannot pour my life and soul into a 100K word fanfic and not have it be my number one LMAO. but seriously, this fanfic means a lot to me. it helped me get through my first months in a foreign country, connected me with awesome friends and had me gain a massive appreciation for bttf part 3 (i love that part even more than i already have and watching it reminds me of this fic). i am also proud that this story carries some valuable messages and developes doc and marty even more. it was wonderful writing this, and it's also my first major story i finished. this is a love letter to bttf and bttf 3 in particular in form of a...well, book.

After meeting various new people and making his own acquaintaces while Doc works, Marty learns how vital it is to stay quiet - for the sake of everyone's safety. But not everyone has the same view...

is it wrong to put a not-yet-finished work on this list? maybe, but i, quite frankly, do not care because i adore this story. it had me come up with silly little ocs and throws me into a setting that interests me (i am a major history nerd and a way to connect it with my favorite character? YES PLEASE). and just wait until you see what happens next - you will definitely get why this is on second place >:)

on a side note, this universe is getting an expansion and becoming a trilogy, which i have titled "the trinity trilogy". writing this will kill me but i am so ready

3. In The Shadow Of The Mushroom Cloud

this fic doesnt have a summary, but it's my part of the "Stuck Through Time(lines)" - collab project we did in the discord server! once again a manhattan project doc fic with a different basic concept than my main one. this one was SO fun to write. i poured out those 12k words in like five days. i want that kind of motivation back, please. also i get to do what bob gale only dreams of and blow up the delorean

4. Winter of '84

Doc takes Marty to the doctor when Marty comes down with the flu.

i love me a good bttf prequel fic, and sickfic is one of my favorite tropes, so i was super shocked when i found out that the bttf fandom had like. zero of those. before winter of '84, there was november, but that's a post-trilogy fic, so it doesn't count lol. i'm proud of this one because it's just a cute piece of slice of life fluff, and i think it captures doc and marty's friendship super well.

Monthly Muppets: The Muppet Christmas Carol Review: With a Thankful Heart (comission for Emma Fici)

Merry Muppety Christmas all you happy people! I've just finished my 500th review and with that horse eaten, it's time to get back to some monthly muppet madness, i'ts monthly muppets yeahhhhh. And today we got a BIG one and a well timed one. I was already considering asking Emma who commissions these if this could be the next one… when it was announced the full verison, complete with when love is gone was going to end up on plus. Naturally neither of us could deny the obvious perfect timing, and the fact it's also the films anniversary just adds to it so I present to you with a thankful heart under the cut my review of …. A Muppets Christmas Carol

The Ghost of Jim Henson

A Christmas Carol came at the Muppets darkest hour: Two years ago… Jim Henson had passed. The man who created the muppets, who brought together a bunch of kind, talented people to create true magic, who directed and spearheaded the films, tv shows, a man of endless heart, creativity and kindness.. was gone.

His son Brian was left with two hard roles: Taking over form his dad in steering the ship and the henson company, and figuring out if the Muppets would go on. The latter was easy, as at a meeting with all of them the day Jim died, they all agreed to go on despite the pain and grief at the loss of Jim. As David Goelz put it "This was our life's work and we'd like to continue it if that's possible. ". The question now was HOW.

The method ended up coming from Henson's agent, who outright sold a new project to ABC before even asking: Christmas Carol with the Muppets. So shoved out the door, it was up to Brian and writer of The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper Jerry Juhul to figure out where to go with it.

Orginally as you'd expect from the mupppets it was a parody: using the muppets as the ghosts, really being zany with it but something unexpected happened: Jerry Juhl fell in love with the original book, and realzied most adaptations didn't really put in Dicken's narration or a lot of the book itself into it and wanted to play it straight as they could. Brian agreed and decided to lean into the contrast between the darkness and Victorian commentary of dickens and the goofyness of the muppets. Highlight that contrast by putting hte muppets in very peiord approraite outfits.. but still having talking vegtables, lew zeland and other shenanigans.

To anchor all this they needed just the right performer: Uncle Deadly was considered back when it was a parody and while that was awesome once they were playing this straight they needed a human and only two were considered. The first was Tim Curry who is of course awesome.. but as my earlier look at Muppet Treasure Island proves, he's also a MASSIVE, GLORIOUS HAM.. and that's just not what the piece needed for Scrooge. He'd of done great, he's tim, but the piece needed someone a bit more classical

Enter Sir Micheal Motherfucking Caine. Classically trained shakesperian actor, movie star, gentleman and the man who gleefully admitted that he only did the trainwreck that was Jaws The Revenge because

I will never get tired of that story especailly since MIcheal Caine just having the time of his life and being cool as heck is one of the most watchable things about that movie and part of what takes it from nigh unwatchable to so bad i'ts good. He was also one of the best Alfred's, because someone had to say it.

Caine told Brian up front he would be playing this straight as if the other muppets were theater company players.. and Brian was excited as that's exactly what he wanted. Caine was also excited because while he hadn't voiced it at the time.. he was disappointed all his friends kept getting to go on the muppet show or the movies and have a wonderful time but he never got to play, but was happy where he ended up as he ended up getting one of the biggest parts of all.

Brian had a problem though: he ended up thrust into the director chair. He has outright said that he tried everything he could to find SOMEONE else to do it as, having only directed a few tv episodes before this, he felt understandably horribly unprepared for this. Why no one else stepped up

But luckily the muppet crew is a family, so they all encouraged brian and had faith in him, with Frank Oz particularly mentoring the young man. To his credit… Brian does a terrific job directing and I coudln't tell he was a first time film director going into this. He's every bit as good as his father was at the role. It was so good that Micheal Caine was genuinely shocked when he found out halfway through. And when Micheal Fucking Caine doesn't notice your a first timer, that's the highest praise you can get.

Another problem cropped up: Disney being disney. Progress on the film was going well.. to the point Jeffrey Katzenberg, at the time head of disney, wanted to make it a feature. Because that always goes really well and is'nt stressful as fuck. Shocker.. it was stressful to the point Brian nearly had to quit production, but a member of the studio who came to check budget realized they need more , especially since even on what little they had they made a whole fucking moveable victorian london for the piece, and there was no issue from there.

Production went well.. but box office not so much. The film got middling box office and to my bafflement SAVAGED in the press. I found out why via a tough pigs article: For me now it's just another day at the muppet offic eif a very diffrent day. At the time.. no one knew what the muppets would look like post jim, so for all they knew this was the new status quo

I still think the critics went Roger Ebert hard on the film, especially given HOW good it is, they should know better, but I can' tblame some general audiences for fretting a bit not knowing this was just another thing they were doing. Professional Fucking Critics should know better.

Thankfully like another Katzenberg made project that hopped from DTV to film, a paticuarlly goofy one shall we say, home video saved this film and next year it sold like all hell and became a staple of many's childhood and the rest is history. The film became the true classic it was meant to be.

And as you can probably guess I loved this flim on rewatch.. but since i'm a wordy bastard, let's get into why shall we?

Magic in The Air So story wise I don't have to go into as much detail as usual. See Christmas Carol is one of those classic stories that has been adapted countless times.. and that's not be being lazy, it gets adapted in some form at LEAST once a year: Just this year we've gotten the musical animated film "Scrooge: A Christmas Carol", Apple TV+'s riff on it spirted and the long awaited youtube release of Team Starkid's "A VHS Christmas Carol". And that's just what i'm aware of. For all I know Hallmark did "A Very Christmas Christmas Carol". It's been parodied, homaged, adapted, deconstructed countless times to the point this will be the THIRD time i've covered a version of it: I did Mickey's CHristmas Carol last year as part of the house of mouse christmas movie, and this year I did "Last Christmas!" where Ducktales did their own unique take on it. It won't even be the last a Christmas Carol takeoff I do this year and it's gotten to the point iI may have to do at least one a year from here on and i'm confident I will NEVER run out.

So it's doubtful, espeically given how popular this versoin is and how faitful it is to the core of the story, I have to recap it but in short: The story follows a Greedy Dick named Ebeneezer Scrooge living in Victorian London. He's a cruel and monsterous landlord who gladly throws out anyone who can't pay, insert your own evil landlord joke here, and is horrible to just about everyone: the town is actively afraid of him, he pushes his carefree and cheerful nephew fred away (played by a human suprisingly enough), and horribly abuses his employees, paticuarlly Bob Cratchet whose naturally played by Gonzo here.

To stop his reign of terror before he ends up in his rightful place in hell, his old partner Jacob Marley (Here a pair of brothers played by Statler and Woldorf), comes to warn him where he's headed and that he'll be haunted by three spirits: The Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Past shows him his lonely childhood and his tearfully failed romance with Belle, Present takes him to see his Nephew who lightly mocks him but whose spirit and kindness is infection, and just hwo destitute poor Bob Cratchett is, how joyful his family is despite it.. and how his son tiny tim is close to death. Finally Future takes scrooge to see how no one mourns him, looted his things.. and how Tiny Tim is dead. Scrooge wakes up a changed man, parties throughout the town, reconclies with fred and becomes a good friend to Cratchet, promoting him and becoming like a second father to Tiny Tim who lives a long healthy life.

It's simple, and there's a reason it's been parodied and even the loosest verisons can still have fun with the three spirits concept.

This verison is unique entirely because of how they decidd to go about it: The story is as Jerry Juhl begged Brian Henson for and rightfully so played straight; Gonzo, usually one of the goofiest muppets is our narrator as Charles Dickens and the truly dark nature of the story that can oft be forgotten in parody shines: We see Scrooge treked through his miserable childhood, loosing the love of his life, how little his nephew respects hima nd understandably so, how much his greed has cost the cratchets and finally what his greed will cost both himself and tiny tim if he dosen't let this all sink in.

What makes it still work as a muppet production. .is that ther'es ballance. The muppety side of thing helps provide some warmth in the cold depths of this beautifuly haunting tail: the opening already has the produce for sail alive, lew zeland around and a jaunty song. While Scrooge himself is terrifying, his workers are the fairly goofy rats. Even Gonzo, who normally a goofus is deadly seriously reciting the book, get sosme relief as Rizzo frequently pipes in his own commentary Dickens!Gonzo responds to. The best of which being "Is this too scary for the kids?" "Don't worry, it's culture". The jokes are there, but their simply woven in where they fit to provide a nice laugh amid what can be a fairly instense story. THere's always heart.. but the laughter with the heart helps ballance out Scrooge himself.

The presentation is helped by Gonzo, whow as chosen to play dickens and recite his lines simply because he was the absolute least likely candidate to play it.. and thus by muppet logic the best. Dave Golez does a truly PHENOMINAL job quoting the book, something Juhl wanted as most adaptations for obvious reasons had to leave Dickens own prose and quotes ont he floor. The result helps set the atmosphere brilliantly, with every bit of narration inhancing what we see on scnee. While normally it's best for an adaptation to show don't tell, it works as this is the muppets and micheal caine essnetially putting on a peformance of a christmas carol, so the narration gimmick works perfectly wtih that sort of logic: just as a play would to save on budget this would too even if it does nothing of the sort.

The biggest boon of course is Micheal Caine himself. Caine is easily one of if not THE best scrooge.. well Ebenezzer Scrooge. best Scrooge is taken by a certain duck, but Caine just utterly OWNS the role. He's deeply terrifying as first, in a way few scrooges i've seen have been, just a deeply unsettling, unfair, unhappy man who makes everyone else miserablea nd afraid just by looking at him. Only Fred is able to cut through it and even then just for himself. It also makes his reactoins as he goes all the more striking: what starts as a skinflinted miserable bastard slowly becomes unwrapped as we see him talking up his traumatic childhood as a good thing, regretting his lost loves, and slowly having it dawn on him both how people feel about him and how he's treated bob.. and then coming off as almost in denial in the last act as it's VERY clear from the way Caine plays it this scrooge KNOWS this is his future.. but he just can't accept it and badly wants to run from it. It's all topped off with a now warmer and kinder scrooge singing with a thankful heart. Caine sells the slow character developmnent beautifully and may be the singl ebest performer ina muppets production. and after almos ta year of doing these , that's the highest praise I can give. When you've outflanked David Bowie and Tim Curry, you sir are a master at what you do.

Another needed choice.. was that NONE of the muppets we know play the ghosts. All three are brand new, really well designed muppets…. though "Well designed' dosen't mean that Christmas Past still isn't a sleep paralissi demon

They work, but.. jesus. Even Chucky dosen't haunt my nightmares that bad anymore right bud?

We have fun. The three look how you'd expect: horrifying spectre, jolly big guy not unlike john goodman, horrifying spectre. A truly emaculate sandwich.

The past is etherial, as if she isn't even here, which is what I tell myself to help sleep at night. The present is jolly, fully and in the now, and the future is a haunting reaper like spectre just out of reach.

Naturally the muppets and co fill out most of the rest of the cast, but there are a few humans. Which I get to a point, but I Mean.. it's not like we haven't had weird muppet parent situations before

Still we get Fred, his wife and Belle all as humans and Edward Sanders, THeo Sanders, Kristopher Milnes, Russel Martin and Ray Coulthard as the various scrooges. It's likely to help sell the down to earth nature by keeping those closest to scrooge as humans.

Muppet wise it's all hands on deck and in addition to Gonzo and Rizzo we have some perfect casting all around: As Steve Whitmire himself said, Kermit really is Bob Cratchet so having him as a joyous soul whose under constant diress from his place of work fit like a glove. It was Whitmire's first time in the roll and while he got flack at the time, mostly because you know it was new

By now we're all used to his verison and frankly.. it's near impossible to tell it's his first time voicing the character. IT's a probable feat, but it isn't one that happens very often: Even Donald Duck legend Tony Anselmo took some time to really settle in and Whitmire's own sucessor, while having settled into the roll now, has took some time too, not helped by Whitmire's departure being so abrubt meaning he didn't have the time Steve likely did to train, where as both Anselmo and Whitmire were trained heavily by their predecessors. He just eases into the roll as naturally as jim did and given both the circumstances and what massive flippers to fill those are is a truly titanic feat.

We also have the various muppets spersed thorught: Fozzy is perfeclty cast as Scrooge's jolly former boss Fezziwig, and somehow surivives to present day in this verison.. mostly so we can see a very elderly fozzy, but who dosen't want that? Electric Mayhem play his christmas party, as they should. Sam the Eagle is in a great position as Scrooge's stern headmaster who sets in stone his way of thinking, and who gets a neat enough song. He also gets one of the best jokes as Sam, being sam, calls their way of doing things "The american way"… only to be reminded this is britan and hastily correcting it to "The BRITISH way", just an all around great delivery by frank Oz. It seems like sam always gets to be at the heart of the best comedic moments in this classics of literature duology.

Miss PIggy gets put in the roll of Miss Cratchet, one of the rare times her and Kermit's relationship is remotely functional, and we even get kids. We also get some original muppets besides the ghosts in this scene with the cratchets daughters and sons who arne't tiny tim. Peter Cratchet in paticular has some excellent 1800's game going, what Jess who watched this with me acturatley described as Phillip Whitbane Drip.

Robin is of course Tiny Tim since he's both basically Kermit's son anyway and this isn't the first time he's been in mortal peril nor had leg trouble.

Some final muppets to clear up before we get into the music: Bean Bunny is the child who says why it's christmas day, which is a greta version of this scene.. though I found my faviorite very recently.

I like to think despite the strip not really setting it up that Elvis went through a whole Christmas Carol thing. Statler and Woldorf are the Marleys and get a whole awesome musical number, and we also get some terrifying cat muppets

If I can't sleep tonight, you can't either. Cue the music!

A Thankful Soundtrack

This soundtrack.. may be the best in muppet history. And that's no small feat: We have the classic Muppet Movie songs, David Fucking Bowie at full speed for Labyrinth, the awesome soundtracks by Brett Mckenzie for the two revivial films. I'ts very stiff compettition. But the sheer joy and scope here rockets it to the top. IT's to the point I've decided to start ranking the soundtracks along with the movies reviewed here. When aclipable, for instance I don't think there's an abudnacne of musical numbers in say the dark crystal. But since i've started adding a whole soundtack section, as I should've all along, it feels right. But before I get to rating, let's get to whyt his soundtrack is so awesome.

For starter's it's written by Paul Williams, 70's musician and composer for the Muppet Movie, aka a soundtrack equal to this one that's going to make ranking that one a nightmare. He also wrote this song which showed up on my spotify. This isn't all that relevant but given I hadn't heard any of his non muppet music and just knew him as "that guy with long blonde 70's hair and awesome glasse", it was a plesant suprise

I need to listen to more of his stuff because holy shit is he good. And it shows here as he provides a joyus wonderful soundtrack that goes where its' needed. This may be the best scrooge based musical.. and that is an actual competition given the stage show and a VHS CHristmas Carol exist.

So starting us off we have Scrooge, a nice tone and character setting piece as the entire town talks shit behind scrooge's back in song form. It's been caught on my head in occasoin and ONLY on occasoin because of another song on this soundtrack that hasn't left my head since. We'll get to that closer to the end of the film.

Next we get the utterly heartwarming One More Sleep Till Christmas. Why anyone doubted Whitmire's kermit after hearing that I really DON'T know. It's so Jim in tone, so warm and loving as he talks about the true magic of Christmas eve, of the most wonderful and warm day of the year being THIS close. It's a truly beauitful song and now one of my faviorite christmas songs. While I only vaguely remembered the film from childhood, it' sstuff like this that will keep it in my heart. It's easily one of the best songs in the film.

Marley and Marley on the othe rhand was the only part I remembered with vivid unceasing clarity as it's been stuck in my head for decades. It's a fun yet forboding number as the Marleys warn Scrooge of the night ahead. It's a bit simple compared to the previous two numbers but i't sso fan and that "marley and marley, woooooohhhhh " in the cohours is infectious.

So we've come to the song that is the major reason we're here, the omissoin no one would let Disney forget, not the least Brian Henson himself: When Love Is Gone. If you were wondering why I hadn't brought this up till now.. this is why. I figured it was best to talk about the song's complicated history when we got to it.

So in short: When Love is Gone is a beautiful hautning ballad by Belle, played wonderfully by Merdeith Braun who sings this song heartbreakly well. It is two minutes of pure pain and heartache that really undrescore the tragedy of Scrooge's breakup with bell, what he's lost and him singing with her really fucking hurts.

And it was cut from the Theatrical Release. Jeffery Katzenberg said it was too long, and kids would be confused and bored during it. As a kid I was a bit, i'll admit, but it's Jeff forgetting that you know MUPPETS ARE FOR EVERYONE YOU BELL END. The property is ALL AGES, but plenty of jokes and bits are meant for adults. It's a reminder that while the Chapek era of Disney was the worst at this, the whole forgetting some thigns aren't just for the target demo wasn't new. It's just extra galling here because Jim NEVER intended for the muppet show to be just for once audience. He wanted it to be for everyone and Katzenberg forgetting that bothers me. It dosne't help when Love is Gone is only two minutes, and really dosen't that it's vital to the film. otherwise the breakup just kinda comes nad goes. With it it makes it tha tmuch more heartwrenching and that much more clear that even despite all his greed and popposity.. scrooge TRULY regrets what happened with Belle and it's the one mistake he can't fix with his ephinay.

It got restored to VHS, as it should've.. but afterwords it was left out. For Classic Disney reasons: they lost the negative.

. And it'd be more forgivable if a) they hadn't lost it when their disnmey and were better at not loosing shit normally and B) it didn't take TWENTY YEARS to look for. It's very clear it wasn't a high priority. And this bothers me a lot as we've lost plenty of films scenes over the years, my former holy grail being the original ending of LIttle Shop of Horrors, which is btw fuly ellegible for this space in my eyes as while it wasn't done by jim henson productions, Muppet legend frank oz directed it, many people he knew worked on it and Audrey 2 has the complexty of any muppet. Currently it's the lost fantasy scenes for a Christmas Story, which I only found out had pictures of their existance a few days ago. The lack of care for a film like this disgusts me, and the fact it took them this long when it could've been a big selling point for the blu ray, and wasn't, astounds me. It was gone theatrically sure but it wasn't supposed to be and again is only two minutes. It dosen't affect the run time badly and is vitlaly important to the film itself. Why disney thought any of this was okay was baffling.

IT somehow still gets dumb because apparently Disney coudln't get even restoring the film right as rather than just.. replace the theatrical cut on plus (since again their pracitcally identical) or put the special edition seperate.. they made the When Love is Gone version a SPECIAL FEATURE, something that's every easy to forget plus has especailly when the bulk of them are just trailers.

Yes even when Disney finally gives fans what they want.. they still have ot do it int he most self sabotaagingly moronic way possible.

Next we get Christmas Present's song, the amazing "Feels like Christmas', a song that truly captures how christmas feels the same way one more sleep catches the feeling of Christmas Eve. I cannot overstate how warm , kind and loving this soundtrack is. It just feels so damn good to hear.

And it's Jerry Nelson once again: while Frank Oz and Steve Whitmire get plenty on this song it's Nelson as Tim/Robin that TRULY directs the song it's warmth and really captures who tiny tim is: apure, innocent soul with nothing but kidness in his little failing heart.

And thus we come to my faviorite song out of the bunch, whcih given just how much sheer praise and love I have for these songs is a lot, Thankful Heart. Micheal Caine gets to sing and he has the voice of a fucking angel. It PERFECTLY sums up who Scrooge has become: a man whose gone from being a greedy bastard who exploits.. to a greatful, kind man, whose happy to be alive and have time to make things better, whose kind to all, and whose most of all thankful for this second chance. It's a song that makes ME want to be a better person simply by hearing it. It's about how life is short, and to make the best of life and to be a good person. That that's the best you can do.. and it is glorious. It never ceases to make me happy in the half a dozen or so times i've played it since I found it with this rewatch. I'll hold it close with a thankful heart

When Love is Found is a short but sweet ending, that both shows what Scrooge has truly gained and serves as a nice coda to the sad "When Love is Gone", showing what our hero has lost.. with this showing what he's GAINED. A truly great ending to a great film. There's also a country cover of WHen Love is Gone in the credits

I have nothing against Martina McBride but .. this is a very forgettable HIGHLY uncessary country cover ESPECAILLY given how good the original is and how it SHOULD be here instead, especially since the song was removed form the theatrical cut.

After a five month reign of rightly earned dominance, Labyrinth gets knocked to the #2 spot. It was shockingly easy too: Muppets Christmas Carol is just THAT masterful, joyous and well put together that it knocked down labyrinth's masterful world and use of david bowie. There's only a few films I think could beat this one, and we'll get to them in due time. So as we wrap up this truly joyous christmas present, i'd like to thank emma for letting me revisit this masterpiece. This is a truly wonderful, well done film and at a breezy 100 or so minutes it goes by all too fast, not because it left anything on the table or missed opprotunities but because you don't want it to be over this soon. This film is fucking masterful and I recommend you root around and watch the new cut. It's easily one of the best i've reviewed on this blog, muppet or otherwise. Next Month we pivot from our faviorite troupe for a long overdue look at the other side of the street: yes it's FINALLY time to FOLLOW THAT BIRD as I watch the seasame street classic for the first time. Early in his career, anders was part music, part mystery. Branding obscured his face. Social media presence? Sparse. The Mississauga-born artist was already turning heads with his clean, cavernous RnB before 2018′s “Love No More” – a certified-platinum collaboration with Loud Luxury.

We had the opportunity to chat with the two-time Juno nominee and Warner Music Canada’s latest signee about his new single “Come with Me” (Joe Stone Remix), and the current Canadian music landscape.

“Come with Me” (Joe Stone Remix) is a new version of the original smooth, RnB-pop hybrid with an all-too-relatable summer narrative. How did this song and remix come together?

This song came together when I was traveling a couple years ago in Europe. I was doing a couple shows out there and had my girlfriend come meet me in one of the cities. We had a nice little trip together, which ultimately helped me make this song.

You grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, raised by a single mother of Vietnamese heritage. In what ways did your upbringing influence your sound?

I think my upbringing helped influence my sound in a way where my friends and I would share music around and help put each other on different vibes. There were also a couple greats coming out of my area at the time as well.

You are a father yourself; has this changed how you approach certain topics in your music?

Being a father is definitely something that has changed how I approach certain topics in my music. I want my kids to listen to my music as they grow up and have them relate to certain things that I sing about. Going forward they might even hear songs that talk about them and their lives as well.

Did you ever face any challenges as a POC in the industry, and if so, how were you able to overcome them and find your voice as an artist?

There were definitely some challenges coming up as an Asian artist in the Toronto music scene, as there would be for any person of colour. I feel like I was able to overcome them with the support of my friends, family and fans throughout the city, mostly by giving me the confidence and willingness to be myself and not let certain negativity get the best of me. With the support of all my fans, I was able to find my voice as an artist and continue to pursue my dream of music.

Have you noticed a shift in the Canadian music landscape since you started out, in terms of sound or diversity?

Over the years I have definitely noticed a shift in the Canadian music landscape, mostly in terms of the diversity. I think in terms of the sound, specifically in rap within Toronto, there is a standard “Toronto” sound that will kind of always be present in the scene here. The diversity within Canadian music has grown since I’ve started and it’s nice to see a lot of different cultures and sounds coming out of Canada these days. Hopefully we can continue to bring light to the Canadian talent in music.

You recently wrapped a 10-date tour across Canada, including a sold-out show at The Opera House in Toronto. How was it, interacting with and performing in front of fans new and old?

The tour was awesome. It was my first tour ever and being able to perform again after Covid was a perfect way to get the summer going. It was great seeing fans from all over the country come out and support.

What is up next for you?

Right now, I’m working on new music and raising my newborn daughter Love Ly.

Who are some artists/songs on your current playlist?

Some artists/songs on my current playlist are “Out of Time” by The Weeknd, “All Mine” by Brent Faiyaz, “Massive” by Drake and “Very Alone” by Zaia. Just to name a few.

Our signature question—if you could be any ice cream flavor, which would you be and why?

I think if I were to be any ice cream flavor I would be the Ben & Jerry’s Netflix & Chilll’d flavour because it's complex.

OLD FAMILY FRIENDS CHAPTER SIXTEEN

It was Sunday which meant one thing that Andy and Joe would be recording a video for The Andy show and of course they would have two special guests Harper who is engaged to Joe and Sarah who is in a relationship with Andy for nearly a year now the girls was at the apartment getting ready and then the guys would come and pick them up all four of them heading off to the studio seeing as it made more sense they had already discussed on what the show would be for today and of course it would be a game one Bean boozled which the girls had played before with the other girls and it was a really fun game, so they both knew what they are in for and of course it would be funny as well to see the guys get the not so good beans.

A few days ago Harper had dyed Andy's hair for him which he very much appreciated also Sarah had gotten her hair dyed as well wanting to change up her look which of course he very much approved of the new look and it did boost her confidence quite a bit but that also meant that now and again she would get checked out by random guys but to be fair she wasn't interested because she was in a very happy relationship with her best friend who she had known since she was five years old and he was six mostly because they parents knew each other, also they went to the same camp considering both set of parents worked but honestly they just hanged out with each other and have this huge bond ever since.

Once the girls was ready Sarah had texted Andy saying, "Hey babes me and Harp are ready, Nick is gonna be looking after the dog so unfortunately she won't be there today I know how much you adore her xxx." Within a few seconds she had received a response which said, "Hey sweetheart awesome we're almost at the apartment and well that's a shame but maybe she can come another time she is seriously the sweetest dog ever." That causes Sarah to laugh and she looks up to Harper who is busy texting Joe and she says, "Already well we should go and meet the guys outside they are gonna be here soon though Andy is a little disappointed that he won't see Poppy."

Harper laughs a little saying, "Yeah Joe is upset as well I swear it feels like he loves that dog more than he loves me, guess you feel the same way but with Andy?" Sarah speaks up whilst laughing a little saying, "Yeah actually I do but to be fair who couldn't love Poppy she is such a well behaved and loving dog to anyone." After a few more minutes they headed outside waiting for the guys who had decided to come in Andy's car which honestly neither of the girls minded thankfully the studio wasn't that far away.

The guys had shown up Sarah had gotten into the front passenger's seat whilst Harper got into the back with Joe of course both girls gave their partners kisses seeing as now all the group knew about Sarah and Andy, he speaks up first asking them "So how are we this morning tired?" Sarah is the one to speak up first saying, "Yeah a little but excited about the video that we're doing today it's gonna be interested and also funny at the same time." He looks over at his girlfriend with a grin on his face and speaks up saying, "Well I am glad that you guys are so this should interesting guessing you both want to be involved then?"

It was Harper that speaks up saying, "Heck yeah we want to be involved we should probably let you guys know that we've played this before so we know what to expect but it is still a pretty cool game just can't wait for you guys to get some of the bad flavours now that would be interesting." Joe speaks up saying, "Wow I thought you would want me to at least get some good flavours not all the bad ones." Harper laughs a little saying "Yeah of course I do but come on you would do the exact same as me." Joe shakes his head agreeing with his fiancee, then Sarah speaks up looking to Andy saying, "Well I'm the opposite I would want Andy to at least get some good ones but of course some of the bad as well."

Seeing as they've stopped at a red light he looks over at her with a smile on his face speaking up saying, "Well thank you for that, I hope the same for you as well." She smiles at him he takes one of her hands which she also holds on to both lean in and share a sweet kiss of course there was a few groans in the back Harper speaks up saying, "Oh okay you two get a room." They both separate and start laughing Sarah speaks up saying, "Oh come on seriously wasn't you two making out for a while back there and neither of us was complaining so it's only fair."

Joe speaks up saying, "Well alright you've got a fair point on that and we both very much appreciate that." After a little while longer of driving they had arrived at the studio and once Andy and parked the car all four of them had gotten out, both boys holding their girls hands and headed inside where Pat and Blasko was waiting patiently to start the episode which wouldn't go for long considering the couple had a double date which they haven't been able to do for a while with the busy schedule but it's understandable.

A little while later after the introductions it was now time to play the game of course the guys had let the girls go first even though Joe was sitting on Harper's lap so Sarah went first of course the camera was focused on the spinner it was in between so they had all decided to have both because why not make it more interesting, so Sarah flavours was stink bug or toasted marshmallow so she picked that one up first with the help of Andy turns out it was the toasted marshmallow and then she had to chose between Skunk Spray and Liquorice.

She picked the right one up but unfortunately it wasn't the nice one so she quickly spat it out Andy speaks up saying, "Well I'm gonna guess you got the skunk spray." She speaks up after sitting back in her seat "Yeah unfortunately that was seriously gross." The group laughs and now it was Harper's turn so Joe got up and moved out of  the way so she could speed her turn she only got one option which was between Barf or Peach, with the help of Andy he made sure she had picked the right one turns out it was the good one which was Peach.

Now it was Andy's turn and he spin the spinner it landed between two of them just like it did with Sarah so he would get either canned dog food or chocolate pudding he picked up the right now and puts it in his mouth speaks up saying, "Alright chocolate pudding." Sarah and he high fived and then the other one was Booger or Juice Pear, it was like either luck was on his side or Sarah was his lucky charm because again he had gotten the good one now it was Joe's turn so he got up and spun the spinner he only got one option so he had to choose between Dead fish or Strawberry Banana smoothie but unfortunately he ended up getting the bad one which was a little funny especially he's reaction.

After a few more rounds it was now Joe's turn and poor guy wasn't catching a break he was always getting the bad ones, of course they was hoping that the next one would be a good one so he did a full spin it landed on Spoiled Milk or Coconut which turns out both are the worst considering Joe hates coconut of course his cousin was trying to root for him, but unfortunately for Joe it was spoiled Milk which ended up making Andy laugh so much that he fell off his chair, thankfully he was alright Sarah had gone to make sure he was alright after all it was a pretty hard fall.

Pat had come up with the idea of the loser having to eat all of the remaining sweets which was a really good idea but unfortunately for Harper it would be her that ends up eating them all after losing but they used a bin to spit all of them into but unfortunately the bin was already smelling pretty bad from all the mixture of the different bad sweet and poor Andy was sitting the closet, lifting up the camera so that everyone could get a better view it didn't end well for him considering she spat all of them out and it made the bin smell ten times worse to the point all three had to get as far from the bin as possible without having the urge to throw up especially poor Andy.

It was finally finished Sarah was the bravest and got rid of the beans that was in the bin which the group very much appreciated and now considering they had some time to kill before the couples double date Andy spoken up saying, "Right I know this is a little late but I was meant to give it for your birthday but I wanted people to witness what I am about to do." He looks over at Sarah who has a confused look on his face that is until he kneels down and produces a ring Sarah covered her mouth which causes the others to all smiling and then he speaks up saying, "Well I'm not sure how to do this because it's my first time but this is my promise ring to you, so you know that I will always love you and that I don't want to be with anyone else because you're this amazing girl I have known practically my whole life and I honest would be lost without you in my life, so do you Sarah accept this promise ring to show my commitment, I have already gotten mine so I wanted to repay the favour so what do you say?"

Sarah had a huge grin on her face and understandable was getting emotional because she couldn't exactly speak she just nodded her head, Yes he had the biggest grin on his face and put the ring on her finger which of course showed his commitment to Sarah for the rest of her life." He then gave her the biggest hug and kiss possible without hurting her and he speaks up by saying, "I love you forever and always, also just like your locket say you will always be in my heart and I hope I am as well in your heart."

Sarah smiles and finally manages to speak up saying, "I love you too forever and always and yeah of course my heart belongs to you, as does yours belong to mine." They ended up sharing a sweet kiss and of course the guys and Harper was applauding and whistling, She then speaks up saying, "Andy it's beautiful thank you so much." He smiles down at her because of the height difference saying, "Well I am so happy that you love it because to be honest I was a little worried you would hate it and then honestly wouldn't know what to do then." She laughs and they share another kiss and hug.

<p>“In the 1950s, Abbie Roger’s best friend had a daughter who had disabilities named Donna Rhian. Abbie saw that, during those days, many people with disabilities were not included in camps and other fun events, so she started the camp. It started in 1961 .She asked the Civitans to help pay for camp- they said yes and still are the sponsors. The camp was first at camp tiak, the Boy Scout camp, in tents””state by Terri Daniels</p>

<p>Then, when camp iti kana was built (we will have to look up when) the camp moved there because they had bathrooms, cabins, and a pool.</p>

<p>We add to the camp most every year building something new!</p>

<p>“The camp grounds belong to the Girl Scouts, but we rent the camp each year.. Camp has been going nearly 60 years- and we believe camp will continue and grow!. I’ve been at camp for over 30 years. Camp has changed as the nation as changed.”</p>

<p>Camp was small before Kay, Chris, and I came. Abbie had to start small and grow the camp. Then people started donating a lot to camp- so we’ve been able to build and grow camp.</p>

<p>‘Technology changed camp a lot too. Because of texting, website, Facebook, and Instagram, we are able to carry our message to large crowds . Oh .Brett Favre’s daughter and John Rhys Plumlee with his sisters is one of famous people who been at camp ‘’before . Said by Terri Daniele herself .Her son Ryan Daniels been Go to camp for Long time ago too and He was even my consular for one year at that camp also . My Birthday always on week Of Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp when I go .Oh cabins name belong to boys Tall Timbers ,Dogwoods .Areas belong to girls is Lakeview ,Lodge ,and Paradise Lost .Camp is always on Third week Of July and My Birthday is July 14.This camp get a lot of applicants and people every year .Consular go into training to get ready for camp every year</p>

Like one night My camp Friend Will and I Did this Prank Where I pretending to Throw up While Will get In Hammock Because Othee Consulars Was use it to sleep or take nap Another time in 2018 at Pavilion dance Ryan And His camper Brently been annoying me How great dogwood is So I get cold drink from Canteen and pour brently with his wheelchair.Ryan said why you pour drink on all over your camper” said Ryan Daniels Jokely and then he came back and pour drink on me .Also I poured drink On John rhys plumlee on that same night and He do it back to me .</p>

<p>In 2018 We started Go To Camping With Daniel Firth and Lauren Firth at CampSite on Wednesday which after Our talent show on Wednesday night ..They know Abbie Rogers from their church Before she died and They was fun to be around .Daniel Firth was part Of Tall Timbers .We telling Ghost Stories around Campfire and we have fun too..We eating s’mores too while We telling ghost stories +listen to music ..At Midnight we went to night hike and saw interesting creatures like bugs and Armadillos +other interesting animals too ..Oh my Friend Big Al Eat Cricket During night hike and he said He Will do this for My Consular After we got back We saw turtles layingit’s eggs ..In Morning we eat something Before we go and someone give me shower in morning at campsite before we go to our first Activities .Girls start Go to camping at campsite on Thursday nights also.</p>

<p>We have different Activities at camp such at our talent show .Our Talent Show offer different talents from disabled people including from me .I telling jokes and do different talents like My Nsync Dance at Our talent show .I Play Bingo at Camp pool party and I drink Slushies from Stand While everyone go to swimming with other disabled people and they give us Presents If Disabled people including me to win .</p>

At night we singing Kumbaya while holding hands together .After that we trying beat other cabins areas by We screamed to up of our lungs ‘’Naked Village “<br />

.and other cabins areas do that too.We even have Funerals at camp for people involed with camp .First funeral at camp was for Papadale In 2018 .He was old sweet man who taking me on rides to camp activities.<br />

We burned his ashes under our tree that camp planted it and we water it every year .We take care of it.One year as I remember Ryan Daniels and I chasing Flock Canadian Geese Off until They flying away and They did Oh Camp love music and It set the tone for camp. One Time in 2018 Big al And I have dance Battle to Micheal Jackson at Art and Crafts and We have good time Oh camp last a Week Sunday -Friday’s every year for adults and youth week</p>

I was always made to feel so welcome, the first degree ceramony was first class and the WM lead his team magnificently, it was so nice to see so many light blues and even FD and FC masons taking part who all did brilliantly, I really enjoyed that ceramony it all had such a wonderful Festive Brotherhood feeling about it 🙏🎅💪

It was nice not having to do anything or so I thought until I felt the DC hand on my shoulder at the festive board or after meeting as it's known, GULP!!!! could I do the return to the visitors toast at literally a moment's notice, now that's nothing unusual in freemasonry now is it brethren 💪😂

I thanked WBro AW for the way he proposed the toast to us visitors and the way the brethren received the toast, I then went about my festive return to the visitors toast that brought some amusement and laughter with a very true masonic tale of a Christmas visit to Peace lodge a few years ago, I did give a big shout out to our Adair Club and The Holy Royal and pointed brethren to WBro RA who is the HRA Rep, I see this morning two of the light blues from last night have been added to the watts app Adair Club so top drawer muckers enjoy 🙏🤠💪

The festive board or after meeting, almost last minute the chef called in sick so no food for a festive board? In true Woodspring style the brethren sprang into style, the local fish and chip shop came to the rescue as it was a fish on a Friday day, A mighty portion of Fish and Chips all round, I was glad of this I am bored with Christmas turkey dinners, the boys also laid on a spread of sweets that Gordon Ramsay's restaurant would be proud of as well as coffee and festive after eight mints etc, stick a fork in me I am done I could barely move 💪

Speeches & toasts were excellent & inspirational, the raffle and alms raised a good deal of money for charity and local food banks, a fantastic Carol Service 🙏 we were all in fine voice lol 🤣 the 12 days of Christmas Woodspring style was fantastic and I must say The Brethren of table 5 were by far the best lol 🤣🙈🙉🙊🎅

I cannot urge all Men and indeed Women to consider becoming a Freemason if charity is at your core and you want to be the best version of yourself you can be SMIB 🙏

Belfast and Beyond

August 17 - 18, 2022. Top o' the mornin' to you from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Due to weather at sea, (winds and waves) we ditched going to the Isle of Islay and put in at Belfast a day early. This - of course - meant lots of last minute planning but it was done brilliantly. our extra day in Belfast was wonderful and I don't know what we missed in Islay - but I really don't care.

According to locals - the fact that we had sunshine for the entire time we were in Belfast is close to a miracle. But - we were certainly happy to have it.

We headed out early in the AM on see Giant's Causeway and and the coastline of Northern Ireland. Mark and our friends, Gwynn & Jim visited Ireland 4 years ago and did this same trip - so I knew it would be wonderful and I was anxious to do it again - Mark not so much - so he took the day off.

The weather was PERFECT with warm temps and gorgeous sunshine all the way up the coast UNTIL we reacher the Giant's Causeway - but I'll get to that. Our city guide was delightful and he gave us a lot of Belfast history and also a Game of Thrones filming narrative since much of the series was filmed in the area just outside of Belfast.

The scenery was lush and lovely - making the "Green Isle" a great nickname for this place.

Belfast is MUCH improved - but no way healed - after the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. Prior to that there were three cities in the world that no one wanted to visit because they feared for their lives - and they were Belfast, Beirut and Baghdad. Tourism is back in Belfast and the Game of Thrones tours alone have brought in millions of pounds to the Northern Ireland economy.

We had a great trip to the Giant's Causeway in glorious sunshine and as we got off the bus, the rain and wind began. It was intermittent (not the wind!) but THAT is why I was prepared for rain.

According to legend, the balsalt columns are the remains of a causeway built by a giant. The story goes that the Irish giant Finn MacCool, of Gaelic mythology fame, was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Finn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two giants could meet. There are - of course - different versions of the story - but the one I like best is this one: Finn sneaks across the causeway and actually sees Benedonner sleeping and he realizes that his foe is much bigger than he is - so he runs home in a panic knowing he is about to have his ass kicked. Finn's wife, Sadhbh, intercedes and disguises Finn as a baby and tucks him in a bed. When Benandonner arrives for the fight, Fnn's wife tells him husband will be back very soon - BUT please keep quiet as her newborn baby is sleeping. When Benandonner sees the size of the "newborn baby", he reckons that its father, Finn, must be a giant among giants. He flees back to Scotland in fright, destroying the causeway behind him so that Finn would be unable to chase him down. 

This "causeway" of identical basalt columns does indeed go on under the sea and reappears at Fingal's Cave on the Scottish isle of Staffa - so I'm quite sure this is accurate story of why this exists.

There is another explanation that is rather silly, dealing with volcanic activity 60 million years ago and the erosion of the limestone that covered the basalt columns - but I won't bother you that! But sadly, the park is getting pushback on the scientific explanation of what happened here - so for some people the giant story actually makes more sense, I guess. sigh.....

After lunch we drove by the ruins of the the old McDonell Castle. We stopped for a picture - but did not go in it. UNFORTUNATE for those in our group who did not have a chance to explore it. We did - so I'm posting those pics of 4 years ago. Not much has changed.

We finished the day with a quick stop at the Bushmill distillery. These people like their whiskey!

Another wonderful day in the British Isles. Tomorrow we will explore Belfast and take a look at its terribly violent past, the present and the further.

I love the opportunities presented by travel. Lucky, lucky us!!!

so like i haven’t actually talked about this with anyone besides my best friend (who told one of his partners) and like. my therapist and the guy whos house i’m trying to move into but like... in the span of about two weeks my left just spontaneously fell to pieces lol... my gf went through a whirlwind of changes the past month and especially these past two weeks. despite 3 years, building a nice little life together she met a girl and almost instantly fell in love with her LOL and well i’m handling it with a lot of chocolate chip cookies and deftones and oscillating between sane and insane yknow, as one does lol. but the fun part about this is that it happened SO suddenly. and while i’m in the middle of fighting against the tide to schedule top surgery and change schools and essentially make my dreams come true. So... yeah... feels fucking crazy. Feels like my life has come apart at the seams and fallen into pieces. but it’s also coming back together into something new and more my own. but god does it fucking hurt. she always talked about wanting to get married and all that and everything. I’m being super brief bc in all honesty it feels like pandoras box whenever I start thinking or god forbid talking about it. I remember when we first started dating I had this moment where I could have (and did) swear up and down that she was my person. like, the one. well. lol. so much for that. but in the past few days i’ve gotten the two of three letters from my doctors to give to the surgeon and my insurance which should be covering the procedure as I meet all the criteria for them to do so. which is SO fucking awesome oh my god. literally can’t wait. I’ve also started at my new school, and despite switching majors i’ve been super lucky and I was able to use the credits from my previous 3 semesters to jump right into my desired degree - mortuary sciences. So yeah, dreams crushed but also being achieved. again, feels fucking crazy. I’m moving in with the only other people I know here (I moved here a year ago but i’m terminally shy and introverted and essentially a hermit), a house full of other transmascs lol, very funny. they also have a friend who for whatever fucking reason i’m obsessed with so I get to see him a lot more so that’s nice. He’s also a mechanic and god my car is a disaster so maybe he can help me learn how to tend to it. Anyway. Also thinking about picking up a new hobby to help keep myself sane during all this chaos - picked out a guitar and amp and stuff; fender bullet mustang and a little 10v amp. I’ve tried guitar before but i was such a mess i couldn’t do it. much less of that now so maybe I can make it work. But... yeah. so if you see me despairing, this all is why lol
