Per chi mi ha chiesto delle mie sensazioni sul film “Perfect Days”.

La solitudine è un fardello che pochi possono permettersi di sopportare. C’è chi, come Hirayama, la fa accomodare in casa e le offre la poltrona migliore. Hirayama è un uomo all’apparenza semplice, se usiamo il metro di misura del ruolo che rappresenta in società. Pulisce i bagni pubblici. Ma lo fa con una grazia e una dedizione tali da portarci - arrivati già a metà film - a volergli dire grazie. Indugia sui rubinetti, strofina e lucida, usa pure uno specchietto modello dentista, per controllare i bordi interni dei water che non riesce a vedere. Tutto è armonia in lui, gentilezza, cura. Osserva il mondo in silenzio. E parla poco, Hirayama, non spreca parole. Sa quanto possano rivelarsi inutili quando al loro posto gli occhi riescono a esprimere i pensieri più profondi. Per rendere leggere le sue traversate metropolitane ascolta musica. Superba musica, a dire il vero. Non mancano Nina Simone, Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Patty Smith... Gli altri personaggi nello sfondo, ovattato e quasi onirico, sembrano a servizio di un unico obiettivo, esaltare la bellezza dell’abitudinarietà, abiurata invece dagli assetati di emozioni sempre più estreme. Ma Hirayama non ha paura di misurarsi con i soliti rituali giornalieri: sveglia all’alba, igiene personale, infilarsi la tuta da lavoro, caffè al distributore (un’unica volta ne prenderà due insieme), salire sul furgone carico dei prodotti per pulire i bagni e via al lavoro. Ritorno a casa, bicicletta, bagni pubblici per una pausa relax, doccia, pub e ritorno a casa. I ritmi sono gli stessi in un’armonica sequenza che allo spettatore all’inizio potrebbe apparire asfittica. È solo a fine pellicola che messi tutti insieme i momenti di Hirayama si riveleranno nello stupore della loro profondità, compresi gli alberi che fotografa quando è in pausa, gli occhi di una ragazza timida che pranza su una panchina vicino alla sua, i “da uno a dieci” del giovane collega Takashi, le frasi della libraia che accompagnano le vendite, dando valore a ogni libro che cede ai clienti (e sempre acquisti in offerta per Hirayama, seppure siano capolavori senza tempo. Ah, quanto ci piace incontrare librai così appassionati), la lampada che non illumina mai abbastanza, ma serve…

Nel silenzio che accompagna la pellicola per buona parte dello svolgimento, ognuno avrà modo di ripensare alle “cose della propria vita”. Compresi certi flashback che non vorremmo riportare a galla. Tuttavia, anche questi, in Perfect Days, ci riconciliano con la parte di noi destinata a restare in bianco e nero (tale e quale al film).

Andatelo a vedere, con la stessa voglia di scartare un cioccolatino al rum: dolce, breve, ma potrebbe dare alla testa, e solo nel bene.

Perfect Days

Filmin orijinal isminde geçen ‘komorebi’ kelimesi ‘ağaçların arasından sızan güneş ışığı’ demekmiş. Hirayama’nın da ağaçlarla özel bir bağı var, filmde de Hirayama’nın diğer rutinleri gibi ağaç da tekrarlanan bir motif. Kitapçıdan aldığı Aya Koda’nın Ağaç adlı kitabı kitapçı tarafından ‘daha fazla tanınmayı hak ediyor’ diye tanımlar. Aslında bütün ağaçlar daha fazla görülmeyi, sevgi ve saygıyı hak ediyor. İnsanlara birçok konuda taşıdıkları mesaj var, işaretler sunuyorlar ama insanlardan gördükleri karşılık genelde yok edici olabiliyor. Hirayama ağaçları her gün oturduğu bankın açısından siyah beyaz eski bir makineyle çekiyor, kimsenin fark edemediği, umursamadığı milimlik değişimleri gözlemlemeyi, canlı tutmayı amaçlıyor. Ya da parkta değişik hareketler eşliğinde dans eden evsiz bir adamın görülmeyen ritüellerine her zaman heyecanlı ve görünür bir bakış atıyor. Kısacası etrafındaki her şeye kısık da olsa bir güneş ışığı yollamayı ihmal etmiyor.

Perfect Days, muhtemelen Lou Reed’in Perfect Day şarkısına yaslanıyor. Minibüsün içinde bir sabah onu dinliyoruz. Koro nakarat kısmını ‘beni bekletiyorsun’ şeklinde tekrarlıyor ve bu tekrar Hirayama’nın hayata tutunma, dayanma, derine kökler salma ve güneş ışığına yaslanan gölgelerine fazlasıyla denk düşüyor ve bu adam hayatın küçük güzelliklerinin tadını çıkarmak için zaman ayırıyor, bekletiyor.

Hirayama görüşmediği kız kardeşiyle uzun zaman sonra karşılaştığında kız kardeşi ona gerçekten de tuvalet mi temizliyorsun diye soruyor. Sorunun cevabı çok net. Evet. Ama tuvaletlerin çok temiz ve fantastik olduğunu söylemeden geçmemek lazım. Hepsi bir parkın içerisinde aslında fazla mükemmellik sunuyor. Tuvaletler bütün gün kullanılmasına rağmen neredeyse tertemiz. Bazıları uzay gemisi gibi teknolojik, bazıları bir orman evi gibi… Bir diğeri ise onu kullanacak olan kadını neşelendirecek kadar fantastik. İçeri girdiğinizde bir anda içerisi görünmez oluyor, bu da düşündüğümüzde Hirayama’nın işine de kattığı özenin mükemmel yansıması olarak görülebilir.

Filmi bu derece anlamlı kılan şeylerden birisi de müzik kullanımı… Wenders 60 ve 70’li yılların rock ezgileriyle aynı döneme ait Japon folk şarkılarını buluşturuyor ve oradan Hirayama’nın duygularına doğru bir geçit açıyor ve çok etkilendiği Ozu’nun derinliğini kullanıyor. Manevi huzur ve saflığı neredeyse filmin her karesinde hiç rahatsız olmadan, aşırıya kaçıldığını düşünmeden hissediyoruz. Depresif olabilecek, öyle anılabilecek bir karakterden, etrafımızdaki gizli, saklı ve sade güzelliği çekip çıkarabilecek bir güç ve derin kök salma enerjisi yaratıyor…

Thank you so much to everyone who came here today, as well as all the people watching and enjoying the live viewing of the play in movie theaters all over the country!

Since it’s our Closing Night today, all the cast members will be giving a speech for you all. First up is one of the ensemble, Kondo-san, or Kon-chan, and we’ll proceed in sequential order.

I’m Toyota Maki, Bianchi’s actress.

To be honest, I had been uneasy up until the day we actually started performing. It’s my first time appearing in a huge series like this, and I had to act like everybody’s older sister even though in terms of actual ages, everyone’s actually my senior.

Yeah, I’m not acting like it, but they’re all my seniors, and all of them really helped me out during rehearsals.

And my dear Reborn accompanied with me during free- What’s it called? Free practice. My dear brother, Hayato, did too. And really, everyone else. Everybody has truly helped me out, more than I can count.

Then, once we started performing, it’s the audience that has been supporting me. I’m one of the people who got to walk on the walkway, and it was truly a pleasure to feel everyone’s love up close.

This role has truly, truly, been a pleasure to receive. I really do love Bianchi. Thank you so much for the all the support!

Nagashima Seira / Miura Haru

Okay, I’m Nagashima Seira, Miura Haru’s actress. It’s truly been a pleasure to be able to be in a well-loved series like REBORN! and it’s stage play.

Kageki Shoujo!! – 12 – Secret Weapons and the Stingray of Kouka

It’s Yamada Ayako’s turn to audition as Juliet, and especially after Naracchi’s performance she’s bereft of confidence. What can she contribute to her performance to stand out? From where can she draw inspiration? Gradually, as we take a trip down memory lane to her first 3D crush Hirayama, and through a sweet and caring pep talk from Sawa, Aya discovers these things.

There was a girl named Yanou Asuka who seemed to dart from boy to boy, even dating all the members of a band, who then broke up. Despite that rep, Aya wanted to know more about Asuka beneath the surface. So too did Hirayama, becoming the first boy Asuka ever turned down after he friendzoned Aya into oblivion.

Aya later learns that Asuka considers her her only girl friend, and could tell Aya had a crush on Hirayama, hence turning him down for her sake. Asuka doesn’t see anything wrong with Aya swooping in to ask out Hiragama after his heartbreak. But in re=examining their talk on that rooftop before Kouka, Aya comes to realize that at the end of the day, perhaps it was Aya whom Asuka truly loved.

In the present, Sawa’s pep talk about Aya having something special to contribute and being a singularly cute and likable young woman, make her a perefect Juliet; she just needs to stop worrying about failure or coming up short of expectations. Sawa certainly doesn’t do that, as her performance of Tybalt is a masterpiece of bitter rage.

Aya intentionally pauses when it’s Juliet’s turn to react to Tybalt’s death, and Aya breaks out the “secret weapon” her supportive teacher knew she had within her: the ability to sway the audience completely with her warm aura and dynamic voice. It’s jut a powerful and unique performance, Naracchi later walks up and declares her a “worthy rival”…and there’s no higher praise from that one!

That brings us to the last of our main circle of friends’ auditions: Sarasa giving Tybalt another shot, having grown and learned a lot since merely copying a Top Star’s performance previously. Sarasa goes off on her own during lunch, but not to sulk; to drawfrom her life experience, the same way as the other performers.

Sarasa remembers the day after her big Kouka acceptance party being invited to the aquarium by Akiya. She’s so excited she tries to meet up with him early, only for him to text her that he needs another hour. Sarasa ends up eavesdropping on at least part of a conversation between Akiya and Kouzaburou (whom she’s probably not aware is her biological dad).

It’s Kouzaburou who suggests that Akiya make the tranition from childhood friends to dating, in order to better weather the distance between Asakusa and Kobe. Of course, Sarasa’s dad just wants someone to keep in touch with Sarasa and make sure she’s doing okay at Kouka, and he isn’t subtle in warning Akiya that refusing to date Sarasa may affect Kouzaburou’s willingness to influence Kaoh-san’s decision to pick his successor.

When Akiya meets Sarasa at the aquarium, the scene, while beautiful, bathed as it is in blue light, is alos a bit gloomy. Sarasa brightens the scene by describing the sea life before them as reminding her of the Kouka Grand Parade, with the fluttering Stingray as the clear Top Star. We also learn it’s Sarasa who asks Akiya out, not the other way around, which we should have known considering his tendency to become tentative and get lost in his head, and her forthrightness and ability to break through barriers. Back in the present, she’s where she needs to be emotionally, just in time for Andou-sensei to declare that he will be playing Romeo in her audition as Tybalt. It’s time for the stingray to unfurl its wings.

I have decided to give a description for each Shinsengumi member I've come across. It came out of a desire to not let these members to go down as nameless persons in fandom. Those who have studied the Shinsengumi would surely know the charter members, the commanders, vice-commander and Captains of this police group as they have been a topic of various films, drama, novels, manga, anime etc. They are included here as well, along with those whom most of you haven't heard before.

As some of us know these men did not formally start out as the Shinsengumi nor did they end in that name. Most accept that the Shinsengumi started with a group of men breaking up from the Roshigumi that was ill-formed by Kiyokawa Hachiro. They will not be given the name "Shinsengumi" (Newly Selected Group) and will be known instead as "Miburoshi" (their headquarters was in Mibu village in the Yagi and Maekawa residence) until they have proven themselves worthy enough to be acknowledged by the Kyoto Protector, Matsudaira Katamori, Daimyo of Aizu and be officially sanctioned as a police force for the Bakufu. They will not retain the name however, using instead the Koyou Chibuntai (Pacification Corps) during their decline and inevitable end, at least in history.

Kizoku Tantei Off topic: (Not about the drama but more on Aiba and...) While watching the first episode of Aiba's drama, I found myself staring at this girl for a while and I thought she looked familiar. When the casts at the end were revealed, that's when I saw and finally realized it was HIRAYAMA AYA-san! And I think this is her second time working with Aiba in a drama special way back 2003... Aiba's drama roles didn't change a bit! Years went in a flash and he is still good in taking care of women ~ (applies to Aya-san's character for the second time too!) ^^ It's been years since I saw their drama together, and even though both have aged, I have to say they look great together. (IMHO, They should totally have a drama with these 2 as a couple again) lol Well. Maybe that's just me. :D

i find it funny that Takaki’s exs are getting married.
