i'm not over how fucking Baffled crowley's "wha?" sounded in the scene where he's complaining about aziraphale's questionable french and nina interjects with "bravo". he goes absolutely slack-jawed.

like this is their Private Banter Time, and you're telling him that other people can hear them? In Public? unreasonable expectation. rude, even.

and then the pose he strikes afterwards to look Cool and Aloof and Not At All Invested in the conversation is so dramatic, just look at him.

I’m convinced that Crowley miracled Mrs. H to allow Aziraphale to perform on the West End or something, cuz there is NO WAY ON GODS GREEN EARTH that she saw this man pull out a hanky and wave it around like THAT and went “Yes this is perfect, there’s no way this man is anything less than a masterful magician.”

Trust me

It was a cold but beautiful winter's night.

Aziraphale and Crowley walked to the bookshop. It was the first time the angel had taken him there.

He pointed at the building and smiled to Crowley. 

“There it is!” 

Crowley looked up and nodded. 

“Nice...” 

They reached the entrance, and the angel opened the door, smiling.  

He walked in and took off his coat, then looked back at Crowley and stopped, frowning a little. 

The demon was still standing outside the open door, motionless. 

“What’s wrong, my dear?” Asked the angel. 

Crowley hesitated for a moment, then swallowed hard and lowered his gaze a little. 

“I... I can’t, uhm... I...” He trailed off. 

It took Aziraphale a few seconds to understand what the problem was, and when he did, he felt a little embarrassed. 

Of course he couldn’t come in... he had not been invited to do so. 

“Oh, I’m so sorry my dear. Please, come in!” The angel said, with a sweet smile. 

However, Crowley didn’t move. He seemed very tense and kept looking at the threshold with a nervous expression on his face. 

Aziraphale felt his heart tighten in his chest. He walked back to the open door and smiled softly. 

“It’s all right...” 

He held out his hand. Crowley looked at it but didn’t take it, swallowing again. 

“It’s all right...” Repeated Aziraphale, in the gentlest voice possible. “You are welcome here. You can enter this bookshop whenever you want, and nothing bad will ever happen to you, I promise...” 

He took another step towards Crowley and kept his hand out to him, right across the threshold.  

“Trust me...” 

Crowley stiffened a little at that, then he hesitantly raised his own hand and took Aziraphale’s. 

The angel smiled more and tightened lightly his grip around his hand, pulling him gently inside, slowly. 

When Crowley finally crossed the threshold, he tensed up and stopped breathing for a moment. 

It took him a few seconds to realise that he had not been discorporated. 

He let out a shaky breath and looked up at Aziraphale. 

“You see?” Said the angel. “All good...” 

Crowley nodded slightly. 

“Yes, well... you said trust me...” 

Aziraphale’s smile softened, if possible, even more. 

“And you did...” 

For a moment, Crowley seemed to blush. If Aziraphale noticed, he didn’t show it.  

He let go of his hand. 

“Would you like a cup of tea, my dear?” 

Crowley nodded again. 

“Yes, uhm... sure... thank you.” 

“My pleasure.” Smiled the angel. “Make yourself comfortable.” 

And Crowley did.

what are my thoughts? let's see. the ending of season 2 makes perfect sense as the second part of a trilogy but it still hurt me deeply and if aziraphale doesn't do the apology dance in season 3 i'll lose my mind. also if he does do the apology dance in season 3 i'll lose my mind. basically if there is season 3 and aziraphale is in it--

loved the conversation between nina and maggie and crowley at the end of s2, i watched it for the first time with a massive jane austen fan who was THRILLED the second he heard even a *reference* to her in the show (so naturally the ball was the absolute High Point of the season)

at the end of s1 it's basically explicitly stated that The Big One is heaven and hell vs. humanity so i'm intrigued to see what's going to happen in s3 to that end

i don't think the metatron actually wanted crowley to be reinstated to heaven, he just wanted to drive crowley and aziraphale apart and figured that offer would do it (and that it would sell aziraphale on the idea of changing heaven from the inside as Something He Could Actually Do) - i also am intrigued by how god's going to factor into all of it bc as we see with job god's totally down to fuck around with everyone (likewhatmaggieandninaweresaying) but in s1 god was basically just functioning as narrator and had that one conversation with aziraphale - so if god's going to become more active that would be fascinating, but i am also very interested in how exactly the metatron fits into all of this and the degree of control/influence there

i like the idea that muriel was memory wiped like they were going to do to gabriel (~institutional problems~) but i'm not sure how supported it is by the narrative - i don't know anything about muriel the angel like. biblically, or even if that's a biblical angel, so maybe if i knew more i'd have a more confident opinion afjslgkhjskdf

jon hamm in season 1 made me want to punch him in the face every time he showed up on screen and in season 2 i was delighted by basically everything he did. what a guy

i also desperately want to know if anathema heard about any of the events of s2 and if so what she thought of All Of That, so if anyone has like. fic recs for something of that nature let me know afjlskhgljskdf

Aziraphale is the most character ever. He ran out of ideas so he declared war on hell. He canonically says fuck. His favourite colour is yellow. He’s literally an angel and can speak every language on earth but still isn’t fluent in french. He told his boyfriend to shoot him for his magic act and made him go through with it when their miracles weren’t working. He gave away his flaming sword and then lied about it for the next 6000 years. He has a bookshop that never sells books. No one’s doing it like him.
