“I’m going to love her in all the quiet ways, the slow ways, the loud and obnoxious ways. My heart has been moving steadily in that direction since she fell down the steps of a hardware store, right into my arms.”

I'm stuck on this, so please have some of this brain rot.
I am torn about who I think this fits the best but we're gonna roll with Katsuki.
Katsuki x you. Soulmates au if you squint. Fluffy little blurb because I'm apparently trying to make myself soft for him. I'm wearing clown shoes right now don't look at me lmao
He's a creature of habit.
He wakes up at 5, goes for a run, and returns to start his day just the same way every single day.
So when you become a part of his routine, those habits extend to the way he interacts with you. Having you around was an adjustment, sure, but it wasn't necessarily unwelcome. He found quickly that he sleeps more peacefully on the nights you stay over. It's almost like something has notched into place in his soul. A piece that was, not missing, but misaligned before you.
He doesn't pay it too much mind though. He likes having you around. He likes you. So, for him it's as simple as that.
8 months in and you're staying at his place more often than not, and he has fully adjusted to his new routine. He wakes up at 5, five days a week. 6:30 on his days off now, because that's when you wake up. His watch vibrates to stir him from heavy sleep, instead of his phone sounding a loud alarm like it used to. It wasn't a complicated change, just something that he did one weekend after you'd had a hard stretch at work and he never went back to the old habit.
He doesn't think it's harder to get out of bed, but he does hesitate. Just for a second so he can look over your body still at rest.
The soft flutter of your lashes, covering the eyes he loves to get lost in.
The way your chest rises and falls so gently, even if the rest of you is askew from the restless hours between the sun's presence.
Now, every morning, before he gets out of bed, he kisses you softly on the shoulder, right in the spot where your gorgeous skin has an inconsistency.
He made a habit of nuzzling you, squeezing you, kissing you in that spot during the first months of your relationship, and he didn't notice the spot until you stood before the bathroom mirror one night, getting ready for bed.
Something about it tugged him closer, and he thumbed over the spot. Looking at it over your shoulder while he gathered you close in his arms.
"This always been here?"
You roll your eyes, but smile wide in that way he loves best. "Yea, it's been there my whole life. I thought you knew."
"Never noticed before, jus' like kissin' you there." He mumbles, nuzzling into the slope of your neck and relaxing a little more at the way your hand cards through his hair.
"They say that marks like that appear in the places where you were kissed in a past life."
"Yea?"
"Yeah."
He lets his head fall then, caressing your skin with his lips one more time in that spot before he pulls away to get in the shower.
Katsuki has never really believed in soulmates, but he thinks maybe, it could have been him. In another life, that left the mark on you.
A small assurance that he could find you again.
Maybe.

Eon Magazine “Strange in a Stranger Land”
B.K. McNair finally gets to talk to a member of the DynoGuard, providing the first full-length interview with the Dinosovian Emergency Response group’s leader, Dracora “Cora” Rex. She opens up about life the late cretaceous, the stresses of being a single mother in an alien time, the fossil ghoul threat, and an epoch’s worth of culture shock.
Disclosure: Eon Magazine is owned by Anning Media Holdings, a subsidiary of AnningTech.

A bit of worldbuilding for DynoGuard and my first "canonical" "live action" dinosovian.
Cora was made possible in large part to Midjourney's new remix feature, which allowed for tweaking of the prompt throughout to produce the raw material for the final edit. I started in v3, moved to --testp, and hit several variant prompts throughout.
This makes prompt reporting tricky, but the main one was "photograph of [a pachycephalosaurus person, humanoid dinosaur, dracorex fursona] Forest ranger/park ranger, wearing a outdoors/hiking clothes in a national forest, admiring nature."

In The Weeds already has me laughing out loud. I didn’t think I was going to like this because One Night Stand to Second Chance Romance isn’t my cup of tea, but I find myself loving it.

Book Review #85 of 2023--
Tumblr media
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison. Rating: 4.25 stars.
Read from July 1st to 2nd.
It looks like we have found our Christmas in July winner. At least so far. We’ll see if one of the final books on this TBR can beat it. I picked this up on recommendation from a couple of romance booktubers; the only one I really remember right now being PeaceLoveBooks. And they were so right. This is a best friends fake dating situation that just pulls at my angst riddled heart strings. We follow Stella as she attempts to make everything on her Christmas Tree Farm perfect for social media influencer Evelyn and the competition she’s running to help out small businesses. The only problem is she lied on her application saying that she runs the farm with her boyfriend. Who doesn’t exist. Enter best friend Luka who is willing to help out by pretending to be her boyfriend while Evelyn is in town. But can Stella make it through this week without giving away even more of her heart?
This was such a joy to read. I think I want to own a Christmas tree farm now? This is actually the second book I’ve read in this Christmas in July that takes places on a Christmas tree farm. There was so much coziness and Christmas fun here that it has made me even more excited for the holidays (so glad we’re only 5 months away now). And, let’s be real here, we all know that I love myself some fake dating romance. The potential for angst is just so HIGH. It makes my weird little heart happy. I loved the setting, loved the angst, and I really loved these characters. Not just Luka and Stella but all of the characters. From the overprotective Sheriff to the baker working at the farm, to the farm hand and the stray kittens he adopts. It was all so lovely and fun. I also enjoyed how much of the story focused on the time before Evelyn arrived for the contest versus during her stay. It made the story much more reliant on our characters versus being reliant on the plot to move things forward. Also, as an asexual person, of course, I am going to mention the sex scenes. I thought the scenes here were really well done. I didn’t have the ick factor that I can have with some author’s sex scenes. It was steamy without being over the top or too dirty for me. Maybe still not something read on the bus ride to work, but a good time nonetheless.
I felt like the major drama at the end of the novel was settled too quickly. I really don’t think I would get over all of that so fast. But I did enjoy that the third act breakup seemed so realistic. It’s something that was focused on the fear of a person versus something happening outside of themselves. I wish we had gotten a better picture of Stella and Luka’s relationship before all of the fake dating stuff happened but I always want more in novels so we’ll take that with a grain of salt.
Overall, I give the book a 4.25 star rating, the romance a 4.5 star rating, and the Christmassy-ness of the book 4 poinsettias.

Day 2 of Cringetober - Self-insert. Both B.K and Faux started off as self-inserts that I made for fun, and then... spiraled. Faux lasted for all of 2 days before he started breaking away, but I think that's very neat of him.
B.K and Faux can be homoerotic (as a treat)
