i wish people were better about recognizing and refusing to engage with rage bait. it doesn't matter how funny your response to it is, they set themselves up for you to make that funny response because they know that they'll get more engagement if you have a negative response than a positive one.

and doesn't that suck? that people are so much more likely to make a response or engage if they have something negative to say than if they have something positive to say that there's an entire genre of internet content banking on that to give them a better place in the algorithm? we need a cultural shift here
