Stove God Cooks - Powder Olympics

Syracuse-native rapper Stove God Cooks is among the leading voices of hip-hop’s gritty, lyrically-inclined resurgence, earning him critical and fan acclaim. Ushering in the next chapter of his career, Cooks has recently announced signing with the New York-based independent label, Babygrande Records.

Stove God Cooks has become a fixture on respected tastemakers’ radars. Having earned a feature on Westside Gunn’s 2019 Flygod Is An Awesome God 2 project, Cooks’ allure in this modern-nostalgic sound was further realized upon collaborating with Roc Marciano on their standout album, Reasonable Drought. The joint effort has received unanimous praise, landing a spot on Complex’s coveted 2020 year-end best albums list. Cooks was also named one of Billboard’s top-15 2021 Hip-Hop and R&B artists-to-watch.

Since capping off his nationwide tour with Conway The Machine in the fall of 2021, Stove God Cooks has been finding exposure through features, interviews, and press runs while he finishes his sophomore project. He tapped in with French Montana and DJ Drama in January 2023 to deliver a couple of stellar verses on the song “Intro,” continuing his hot streak from 2022 when he appeared on 2 Chainz, Westside Gunn, and Benny The Butcher’s albums. What’s more, Rolling Stone named him one of the “11 Rappers to Make It Big in 2023.”

Pressed in 2006 along with a blue translucent version but wasn’t released in 2013 when the pressing plant contacted Babygrande that 100 of there were still in possession. Only because it was pressed on the wrong color other than blue translucent was why it wasn’t officially sold. Omega WUSB has spun Heavy Metal Kings (as a group) only once last summer for a deluxe backpacker set (”Merciful Fate” featuring Goretex) followed by Ill Bill’s “Awaiting The Hour” (featuring Killah Priest). Imagine how cursed and overflowing with sanguine as those two played back-to-back on-the-air and through your speakers.
