Physical DPS Mika complete :D I wasn't expecting much and just wanted to run him for fun but he's surprisingly really good! One of my best built units tbh!!
Running 2pc/2pc on the physical sets with Homa (80/80), 8/8/6 talents at level 80/80. His current team is with Rosaria (cryo res, nobless buff plus ~10% crit rate), Fischl (battery plus electro) and Yun Jin (normal atk buff). He's been hitting 19k normal attacks fairly regularly (not tried with food yet) and can do more if I max him and Homa to 90 and crown talents etc. He's super fun so far! :D

compiling my headcanons for what video games dungeon meshi characters would like, if they were gamers in modern day
some taken from this post and my reblog additions there. added more characters, with some suggestions by friends/mutuals (marked by *asterisk ).
this can also be a games recommendation list based on your fav/most relatable characters too, if you want
characters that are not are included are bc i dont have ideas for them. if i only list the genre name but not any specific titles, its bc im not familiar enough with the character/genre to pick a specific game.
this list is, of course, biased towards games im more familiar with. feel free to ask me to elaborate on my choices or make suggestions in the comments
Tumblr media
Laios' party:
Laios: plays lots of Monster Hunter. loves Spore but he doesnt often play past the tribal stage. likes Pokemon but he's more focused on catching the pokemon than following the story. played WolfQuest and DragonFable back in the day. enjoyed the concept of Bugsnax but wasn't interested in dealing with the NPCs
Marcille: mainly Dwarf Fortress, RTS games, some colony sims. but also sometimes The Sims, and dollmaker dress-up games. i could see her also enjoying Rollercoaster Tycoon and making elaborately-themed parks. might also occasionally indulge in some visual novels if she's in the mood for narrative she has Stardew Valley so she can have something to play co-op with falin, but its not a game she plays a lot of otherwise. when playing with falin, marcille micromanages the farm to maximize productivity, and does the decorations
Chilchuck: puzzle games and hidden object/escape room games as a video game-equivalent to finding/dismantling traps and lockpicking. i think he'd also enjoy Bejeweled.
Senshi: mainly Wii games and Cooking Mama. occasionally plays Snake on his 15-year-old nokia phone. i dont think he would enjoy games like Overcooked or restaurant manager games, because he likes to take his time making food, not stressing about customer service
Falin: some *Legend of Zelda games – she likes the exploration aspect in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, maybe also some of the toon zelda games like Minish Cap or Wind Waker she also plays Pokemon (*Pokemon Go when she's traveling), and i think she would enjoy some indie games, like Penko Park or Chicory: A Colorful Tale. plays Stardew Valley co-op with marcille – falin mainly takes care of the animals, mining, and picking the crops. occasionally makes improvement suggestions that marcille didnt think of
Izutsumi: i could see her enjoying games with parkour mechanics, like *Assassin's Creed, or Mirror's Edge. or maybe something simple but requiring cat-like swipes, like Fruit Ninja. despite her impatience, i think she could also enjoy action games with interesting longer narratives, as evidenced by [this omake] (relevant portion pictured below), so maybe *Final Fantasy 7 – my friend who's familiar with the game said "she’d find Cloud and Vincent relatable"
[ID: a dungeon meshi omake, where laios' party watches a nightmare monster manifest marcille's dream. there are snippets of dramatic soap opera-like dialogue. the rest of the party are initially enthusiastic but get bored over time, meanwhile izutsumi remains enthralled]
Tumblr media
Kabru's party
Kabru: definitely Crusader Kings. maybe also some rpgs with relationship/faction mechanics, such as *Fire Emblem (one of the older ones or FE:3H) or Fallout: New Vegas (hes maxing out the speech stat asap) i think he would also enjoy mystery games like Pentiment and Return of the Obra Dinn – he would love the process of getting familiar with the many characters and deducing "who did what" in both games.
Rin: she takes pride in being an indie gamer (translating her disdain for upper class magic academy mages -> disdain for AAA games). given her chain-lightning magic in canon, i think she'd enjoy games with AOE-type magic, so maybe games such as Vampire Survivors. my mutual also suggested she might enjoy indie mystery visual novels like *Paranormasight, and that her AAA guilty-pleasure would be *Final Fantasy 14 – that rin is "a hardcore ff14 raider. would join PUGs and shot-call every week. #holm and diya might also play ff14 casually with rin but holm would be fishing mainly"
Mickbell: mainly Bethesda games like Fallout and Skyrim– enjoys the bootstrapper power fantasy in them. the type to go out of his way to pick up all the loot he can, to later sell
Kuro: enjoys the same games as Mickbell, but for the open-world exploration and investigation factors
Toshiro and Tansu's party:
Namari: her interest in fighting and weapons could translate to brawler/fighting games and action games with a focus on weapon stats – so maybe *Street Fighter, *God of War, and/or *Dark Souls. might play *Monster Hunter with laios but for the weapons. i could also see her occasionally enjoying truck simulators
Toshiro (Shuro): has the perseverance for soulslikes and other high-difficulty action and/or metroidvania games, but would take his time overthinking item/weapon synergies sometimes. given [his fondness for bugs], i could also see him enjoying Hollow Knight
Tade: would enjoy the cute aesthetics and lighthearted gameplay of Animal Crossing and Katamari. would also like idol anime rhythm games
Kiki: i think she would enjoy horror games such as Resident Evil, but would play it while super chill. i dont have much reasoning for this aside from vibes
Canaries:
Mithrun: plays Doom. got into Hollow Knight but still hasn't finished it because he keeps getting lost. senshi introduces him to Cooking Mama later on, which he finds surprisingly therapeutic
Cithis: plays Hitman and enjoys staging elaborate accident kills. i think she'd also enjoy The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, with her background as a devious fortune-teller
Fleki: surreal indie games like Hylics. also plays Team Fortress 2, and is a scout main. occasionally joins lycion in Animal Jam
Lycion: active WolfQuest and Animal Jam player. occasionally joins fleki in tf2
Pattadol: plays Stardew Valley – shes comparatively a normie, but on the meticulous side. she would enjoy perfecting her in-game farm
Otta: plays Genshin Impact. the serious reasoning is because of her (earth) elemental magic and how genshin has an elemental magic system (from my understanding. ive never played it). the joke reasoning is how some genshin players play to collect "waifus", and how otta goes through a lot of women in her dating life
Other:
Leed: runs her own guild in World of Warcraft
Winged Lion: god-games like WorldBox or Simmiland. and Darkest Dungeon (this ones mostly a joke)
Thistle: plays the original Plants VS. Zombies. also plays Minecraft and is very serious about it, but hasn't updated his game in years (translating the fact hes a 1000-year-old kid frozen in time -> playing "slightly old" games popular in the early 2010s)
[ID: tweet reply by twitter user ranchuppi – "thistle calls it lord delgal's server but he is the only mod. whole royal family is locked in spectator mode. Hell. living hell on earth."]

we need need neeed a charles variant of the media naranja fic :( just a multiple lives au even just a drabble or a headcanon auds audrey big a please only u do this shit justice
bec this has been rotting and i needed to practice writing :)
divine sense – cl16
Charles is always led back to you. title from this
“Your mole is nice,” he says, cutting himself off and thinking a bit more on his words. “It sits just there, on the corner of your eye.”
“Really? God.” You poke at it, rub over it even if it sits relatively flat and unassuming and a bit tiny. “I’ve always hated it. People mistake it for leftover eyeliner or mascara all the time, and it’s—whatever.”
“It’s pretty.” His gaze could light you on fire and water it down all at once. “It’s one of the first things I noticed about you. Granted, I thought it was a, uh, how you say? Mascara, yes, that flicked off your eye a bit, but now it’s just there. I like it.”
A slow smile creeps its way onto your lips and you bite it back, to no avail. “Thank you.”
“It’s the reason why you look so familiar to me.” My mole? You ask, your head turning to the side a bit. He nods. “I don’t know why, either. I mean, clearly we didn’t know each other then. But something about you—you’ve always felt familiar, I think.”
“I have?”
The trees are greener in the spring, but they’re thin still, not yet too thick with leaves that will fade into orange and die and fall. It’s perfect, Charles thinks, because then the sun filters perfectly through the green of them and shines through the blinds and onto your face, smiling tenderly and warm and waiting. Your eyelashes cast a shadow across the rest of your face and he could stare forever.
“You have.”
“Did you get mascara on your eye?”
“What? Oh. Fuck, no. This—it’s a mole.” You turn quickly to the mirror. “I know, it looks a bit like it, yeah.”
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude.”
“It’s all good. So, Charles, right?” You reread the application sheet and stretch a hand forward to shake his. “My new roommate… taking up Architecture.”
“Yep.” He smiles proudly, the emblem of your university front and centre on his sweatshirt. “I hope this doesn’t sound weird, but have I met you before? You just look a little familiar. Mole and all.”
“Oh.” Instinctively, you reach up to touch the area on which it sits. “I don’t think so, sorry. Um, but in my Lit class, we did have a discussion about how… like… moles are places where you were kissed in your past life.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah.” You smile up at him. The fall breeze filters through the open living room window, blowing tendrils of hair over your face that you’re quick to brush away. “Granted, I don’t know who would want to kiss an area like this.”
“You don’t?”
And maybe you’re a bit loopy from the drive, or hungry from waking up early, or maybe not at all. Maybe Charles the college roommate is messing with you, or maybe pulling a prank, or maybe not at all. The sunset today is beginning to tint the room and his pretty face a muted orange and you could stare forever.
“I don’t.”
Your first time in Italy is marked by a series of ugly firsts: first catcall, mistranslation, scam, blistered heel. But you make it, despite it all, to your foster family’s farm estate, all old vine-caked buildings and stables and lemon trees. You spot somebody poking their head out of the upstairs window but the mop of hair disappears just as quickly.
The door is answered by Pascale—the one you’d been corresponding with prior to today. With her is her husband, Hervé, and two sons, one of whom is somewhere in the house getting your room tidy, she says apologetically. You’re quick to quell her apology, sated by the ice water and bowl of fruit (Hervé says something about picking them all out himself; Arthur, the younger one, pulls you aside with a boyish smile and says it was actually him.)
“Lorenzo is off at university for summer classes,” Pascale explains when she’s putting the second spoonful of pasta on your plate. “So I am stuck with Arthur here, and Charles. He’s about your age, yes? Twenty-two in October.”
Charles descends into the kitchen talking in rapid Italian to his mom, that only tapers off when he sees you at the table. You smile, dopey, raising a careful hand to wave.
He stares.
“Vieni a sederti,” Pascale says, pointing to the empty seat beside you. Shyly, he takes a seat and fills up his glass with water—then yours.
“Oh,” you say. “Thank you.” Your gaze travels to him, and find he’s already looking—at the corner of your eye.
“It’s a mole,” you clarify with a quiet, pretty laugh. “Are you excited to take me around? Pascale says you’re my tour guide.”
“Sure, sure.” He laughs. “Where do you want to go?”
Hervé has played some Italian music on his vinyl, so it’s what scratchily plays through the dining area, accompanied by the scent of garlic and lemon and olive from the trees outside, blowing a gentle breeze through the archway of the house.
You turn away from his green eyes to answer one of Arthur’s questions, peppering chili flakes over your aglio olio to twirl and deposit into your mouth. One red flake stays on your lip and he imagines swiping it off with his thumb. Your eyes meet his again, gaze amused and gentle and Charles could stare forever.
“Anywhere, really.”
“Oh, honey,” you whine playfully, letting your husband crowd you against the counter of your kitchen, peppering kisses all over your face. “Missed me that much?”
“You know I did.” He parts from you, and even if he's taller his gaze seems to convey looking up at you, adoration and love crowding his green eyes. A hand caresses your jaw, cheek; his thumb rubs over the corner of your eye. The blank skin there, unmarked, unblemished.
He kisses it. His favorite spot. “I woke up this morning thinking about you,” he says fondly.
“About how I left you in charge of changing Mila while I slept in?” You tease lowly, forehead pressed to his.
“About how in love I am with you,” he says honestly. Your heart pulses. It was never a whirlwind of love for either of you. It was slow, warm, familiar. Hey, you.
Despite that, he means it, you know he does, he’s never failed to show just how much. When he wakes up early to change Mila, or when he takes charge of the stove when you’re sleepy. When he lets you walk him around the winding avenues of Manhattan to get cookies or a good coffee or a better beer. When he watches you sing karaoke tipsily, Billy Joel or The Smiths. The way he memorizes every part of you, the way he knows you. Any and all of the love Charles ever had and ever felt always answered to you.
Lips meet the corner of your eye again. “You know that? I love you. You changed me. You know that, right?”
You could stay forever, in the dusk of the city, questions suspended in the air to be lovingly answered in the lifetimes to follow. They will come, though. You can stay for now—you’ve done your waiting for a love like this.
You smile. “Right.”

You have a small species of cryptid living in your apartment. They're a rather common urban cyptid species, but they're incredibly fast breeding. Most people hire exterminators for this type of situation but you'd rather not.
They're these little pale guys with big red eyes. You could probably hold a couple of them in your hands at once. You accidently killed one and you felt bad about it for awhile, you even gave them back the body, you couldn't bare the guilt.
As time goes on they build a little city in your walls. There must be thousands of them now, living their own little lives. They watch them getting breadcrumbs or farming mold in the mornings, and watch them sometimes sing little songs or do little rituals.
They come to view you as sort of a folk hero after some time. Like a giant that protects them. When you take your cat away from their settlement so she won't eat them, or when you fix something for them, or give them suger cubes, they must see these as great heroic acts. When you're out for a few hours a few of their generations pass, and you must fade into legned for then, until one day this great benevolent giant they didn't even know the reality of comes back to them.
Sometimes they make things for you. You know they have a statue for you at least. But they try to make you little emblems and jewelry. It's not very good, but they're definitely happy that you accepted their gifts. And sometimes when you have a hard day at work, or something goes wrong for you, it's nice to have those little guys there for you, even if you can't really talk to them or get to know them or anything.
One day your landlord finds out about these guys. He says he has to get rid of them. If you don't let them he'll get rid of you too. They want to hire an exterminators by Monday, they'll poison their crops, and let them slowly die off or starve, and gas out any survivors if they have to.
You realize they can't live here anymore. So you try to tell them. To tell them they have to move, that something is going to kill them all if they stay within the world they know. But they don't understand, you can make them afraid but you can't make them understand.
Two days before the exterminators come you realize what you have to do, what you know will make them leave. You look at their city, and you start destroying it. They feel betrayed, they thought you would always be there to protect them. It's like how the Greeks would see Hercules destroying Athens, or how the Britaish would see king Arthur leading armies agaisnt them. They think you were sent by God, as a manifestation of his anger. They're so much smaller then you, they didn't even think you betrayed them, they thought they betrayed you. You wish you could tell them, that this is your final act of protection.
Eventually they leave, you knew they would. You hope wherever they are they're safe, and that the next giant they know can know them for longer.

Smiling Critters Cartoon- Ouřa Thorn
I view the cartoon as the like. OG source of all other aus, even though the toys were probably made first, as well as the experiments, BUT I DO WHAT I WANT RWAH. So this is like. OG Thorn.
This is my explanation of where Thorn lives, and how they came into existence within the cartoon universe.
First of all, this story actually starts off with Bubbles. Although she wasn’t known as Bubbles back then- rather by her species, the Giant White-Tipped Wandering Tarantula- or ‘Big Blue’ as called by the rural farmers that would sometimes see her.
Wandering Tarantulas were a massive but mostly passive species of spider- known for patrolling expansive of land for food and water, and their freakishly good mimicry skills. Sometimes, if you were lucky, you’d see them clamber along the sides of wheat field, ever careful to not flatten any off the plants. They are tenders to the forest- a guardian to ward off any thing that threatens the beasts that reside inside.
One concept that I love and have burrowed is that there are ‘Critters’ aka Dogday ect, that are human like- and then ‘Beasts’ that are animals. And on some rare occasions, if a beast earns an emblem, they can become a critter, like Bobby bear hug from @novalizinpeace (who has a new blog now for their au, go check it out!!!!)
Tumblr media
Bubbles was a beast- a very smart beast, just like how animals of our world can be very intelligent.
The way Thorn was born, was just like any other critter- by stork. And in this situation, by pure luck, fate and the animal intelligence that Bubbles possessed.
Litter happens. And sometimes, critters loose things. So whilst one fine morning, when Bubbles is wandering through the forest, they step on a paper, that had blown in, smudging a foot print on the bottom half. This note, was actually a letter- a half finished letter for a child that a parent must have lost.
Not that Bubbles knew that.
Unsure what to do with this paper, the tarantula did what most animals do- copy the creatures that normally have it. By watching the Critters, Bubbles witnessed Critters putting paper in a big red box. So they did the same. And, effectively, mailed a baby request, signed with their foot print.
Now I think there would be a little bit of slack in the Storks since in Nova’s au, King Canv(ass) got Crafty, and apparently Crafty and Dogday wrote a drunk letter and accidentally got another kid, so I’m gonna say that the storks are flexible, in case in more rural places were education isn’t the greatest, writing is a little hard.
And in the topic of rural- some farms just. Do not have addresses, and come on, it’s a magical place and babies come by storks- I’m allowed to bend the rules a little. So for rural places, you leave your finger print on the paper, and the storks use magic to track the print to exactly where you are! Hence why normally, the parent that leaves the print stays at home until the baby comes, cause you don’t want to get them like, at work.
And sometimes, since it’s such a tradition, the parents will leave the finger print instead of their name.
And well…… I feel sorry for that poor stork.
Tumblr media
It was a first ever- that a Beast had ever snuck into the stork system. And after checking their equipment four times- nope, the letter was 100% from the Giant Tarantula. Also, there was no rules for this. Was the stork meant to leave a baby with this massive spider??? Take it back? Leave it at an orphanage? (Which was probably didn’t even exist if birth control wasn’t a problem if you get what I mean)
The stork contact their boss, and ofc, he/her/they, didn’t believe it at all. So the stork. Sat the baby down, and watch from afar, pray this animal would take the child.
And she did! The little spiky thing smelt weird, but when Bubbles pressed their pedipalps into the little things softer underbelly, it curled around them with the tiniest little purr ever. And well. Bubbles was therefore convinced that this little thing was their spiderling.
Between the half baked (defiantly a draft) writing and the crinkled, weathered paper with the dirty print- Ouřa Thorn turned out with some issues- the most prominent being that one of their horns had snapped. Whether the horn was to weak and broke, or if it never fully developed- no one knows- but it dreadfully impacted Thorns hearing, and therefore, their volume of their voice when they started interacting with other Critters.
Tumblr media
Bubbles also being the Best Mum Ever tm, also was proven when it came to Thorns emblem- mainly because she found it. Thorns emblem is of course, the image of the world serpent- or Ouroboros.
Bubbles had found it deep within the forest, in a tiny old ruin- and well, knowing that their spiderling hoarded shinies like no one’s business, they took it back for them.
To Bubbles knowledge, they love it so much they wear it everywhere they go!

Where Am I? Who Am I?
AO3 link - this was written for the hermitcraft guess the author 2024 event. do go check out the other authors as found in the AO3 collection.
Etho awoke a random summer's day to unfamiliar surroundings. It wasn't his usual base build. Instead, he found himself in a green bedspread with an accompanying nightstand stacked high with romance books. All the titles in Japanese. Startled, he decided to search around. See if he could find any more information as to where he had suddenly been transported to. Not knowing how he'd fallen asleep, was the moon still growing?
'Yikes,' Etho realized exactly where he was after recognizing the figure in the bathroom window. One less pixelated than it should be. His jacket no longer baring the Canadian flag emblem on the sleeve. Nor did his headband. A headband that was more of an eye patch if he was honest. Instead, it was a symbol that looked to be an abstract bird. A beak with a swirl branching off of it. Etho tried to recall everything he knew about the Naruto series. What arc even is this? Unfortunately he’d have to interact with the other characters to figure out.
Etho wasn’t the only one. Kakashi awoke to a pixelated wooden house. Did his vision get this bad overnight? Looking down, he was relieved to see his uniform still intact. But like Etho, he noted the difference in emblems. Lucky for him, Etho wasn’t involved in any big plans. Their personalities similar in that they were both aloof individuals. If only he had his books, Kakashi wistfully thought to himself.
The Hermits, one by one would eventually have the epiphany that something was off with their friend. ‘I asked him if he could fix the meal bone farm…it’s almost as if he short circuited,’ Iskall remarked to Grian. Telling him more about how “Etho” fell off their base, completely forgetting about the waterfall elevator. Going berserk with the belief that he only had one life.
'Have you noticed anything weird about Kakashi-Sensei?' Sakura reluctantly asked Naruto. 'Besides him not reading those boring novels? Not really.' Sakura on the other hand had noticed the change in “Kakashi's” demeanor. The man was more jovial, more talkative. Sakura decided that if a doppelganger had replaced their sensei, the best course of action would be to ask something that only their sensei would. But what? Oh, those pesky books. Kakashi would definitely know the plot lines backwards and forwards. Especially as it'd been one of his notable traits since they had first met. But Sakura didn't know anything about them. All the more reason to ask.
'Hey Sensei? What happened in the last volume of Make Out Tactics?' Naruto sputtered out in shock, 'but you weren't interested when I offered to explain last week! Ow! What was that for?' Sakura kicked his shin, trying to get him to shut up. Etho had zero clue. All he knew was that they were some erotica series and that he should act bashful. 'Uh, well, I don't think that's something I should be telling you, at your age,' Etho hoped his acting was up to par. Rather, it cemented what Sakura thought. If it had been their sensei, he wouldn't be able to form a coherent answer at all.
It's when the moon glows larger in the pixelated sky for the final time that the two are returned back to their respective places. Sakura is stuck as the only one aware. Later being gas lit by both Naruto and Kakashi who is actually Kakashi again. Simply told it was a figment of overactive chakras. Kakashi wants to leave it in the past and never mentions the horrors he had witnessed. Fighting against multiple creatures—mobs as the celestial body rose higher on the horizon. Iskall on the other hand confronts Etho which results in him divulging everything from the moment he woke up to the moment he returned. Glad to be back in his mountainous base.

Can you please write Yandere Dimitri from fire Emblem forcing Edelgard’s sister to marry him after he won the war.
Ok I'm having a little too much fun with this idea. Would have finished this sooner but I got sick then as soon as I recovered I got back pains and was pretty much bed bound for a few days. Feeling so much better now though.
Chapter one is just mainly setting the plot.
Eagle under the lion's paw Pt 1
(Yandere Dimitri Blaiddyd X female reader)
Tumblr media
The last thing you could remember was being taken underneath the castle you and your siblings called home. you were told that it wasn't safe outside so you had all been brought to the basement. You held your sister Edelgard's hand tightly as only a small candle dimly lit the room and the muttering amongst your siblings grew.
You woke up in the middle of a farm, luckily the owners were nice enough to offer you a place to stay when they found you. You felt strange as you walked back with them, like your body was not your own. They took you in and allowed you to bathe. You looked at yourself in the mirror and were shocked. You were older, a young adult at this point. You nearly fainted from the shock but were able to catch yourself on a bench before you fell. Even as you scrubbed all the mud off of you you cringed, it felt so wrong to be in this body. How could this have happened? You desperately raked your mind for a clue but you couldn't remember anything after being left in that room.
After you had bathed the farmers had offered you dinner and asked you questions.
"What is your name dear?" The lady asked.
"It's (Y/n) von Hresvelg" you replied. The couple's eyes widened before they began to whisper. You couldn't quite make out what they said to one another.
"You are a member of the Adrestian empire's royal family? I thought the only child of the emperor was Edelgard" she said in what you assumed was a sceptical tone. Edelgard was the only child? No, that wasn't true. What about all of your other brothers and sisters? before you even had the chance to figure out how to respond there was a knock on the door. The man got up and answered the door.
"My apologies for interrupting but I heard my Niece was spotted around here. Do you perhaps have an idea as to where she might be?" a familiar voice asked. It was your uncle's.
You stood up and made your way to the door and he was indeed there.
"There you are" he said, his voice unusually cold. The man moved out of the way so that you could join him. Your uncle did not look a day older than when you had last seen him.
"Thank you for caring for her" he thanked the couple, however his voice held very little gratitude.
"Now we should be leaving" he said as he held your wrist. It struck you as strange, he held your wrist with authority. Very unlike him.
"Thank you for the hospitality" you thanked them before you left. He took you to a carriage and you entered.
"What's happened?" You ask him as soon as he enters.
"What do you mean (Y/n)?" He asked you. Almost cluelessly.
"I can't remember anything after I was seven, I have no clue what's going on" you explained.
"Strange… I was told your carriage was attacked by bandits as you were on your way to the officers academy, perhaps you sustained a head injury that left you with memory loss during the attack" he explained.
"What about my siblings? The couple told me that Edelgard was the only child of the empire" you asked.
"There was a riot in the empire many years back, you and Edelgard were the only survivors out of your siblings after that attack" he explained. It broke your heart when you heard his explanation. Tears trickled down your face. You hadn't been as close to your other siblings as you had with Edelgard but still it hurt to hear they were gone. You expected your uncle to at least offer you some sympathy like he usually did but he just sat there.
"We'll be at the officers academy later tonight. Tomorrow you'll be attending your first class, I'm sure that Edelgard will be overjoyed to know you're safe"
When you had arrived you were quickly guided to your dorm as your uncle explained the situation to the professor. While you walked to your room you noticed a white haired woman staring at you. She seemed familiar, almost friendly if it weren't for her scrutinising gaze. You tried to pay her no mind as you continued your way to the room.
You didn't even unpack, you just laid in bed and thought about what your uncle said. You were sceptical, he was a completely different person, he used to be so caring. You remember when he had taken you and Edelgard to Fargus. You had been very ill at the time and he'd spent all the time he could to comfort you but now after a supposed attack he didn't even ask you if you were alright.
You stayed up for hours tossing around in bed. Unable to sleep with your head filled the brim with questions.

That morning you had gotten ready as quickly as possible and made your way to class. Most of the class had already arrived and their gaze was on you.
"Hey it's the new girl!" a blue haired boy shouted and the green haired boy next to him turned his head to look at you while still resting his head on his hand.
"Can you lower your volume Casper, the whole school probably heard you" he responded lethargically to the boy beside him.
You turned to the left and saw that white haired woman from last night at the bookshelf. She noticed you and that stony gaze returned.
"So what's your name?" A feminine voice asked. You turned to see a brunette lady. You jumped a little at how close she was to you.
"Aww I'm sorry, I didn't want to scare you" she apologised as she took a step back.
"No I'm sorry, I should have noticed you sooner" you apologised.
"So what's your name?" She repeated.
"(Y/n) von Hresvelg" you told her and she gasped.
"Edie, you never told us you had a sister!" She exclaimed as she addressed the white haired lady. She looked at you like you were a ghost, and you assumed you held a similar expression to her.
"Edel" you muttered as you stared back at her. You should have realised sooner it was her but that hair, why was her hair white? Everything was getting stranger by the second.
"You look at eachother like this is a reunion after being away from each other for so long"
"It is" Edelgard spoke in a voice that was stern and held no love. It made you want to cry. She was the older sister who had always stood up for you and made sure you were safe. She would help you when you fell and let you sleep in her bed whenever you had nightmares. She was your protective older sister. What happened to make her reaction to you filled with such disdain? You didn't want to bring it up now for who knows what this issue was an what drama it would stir.
Soon a lady, elegant yet somewhat unkempt, entered the class.
"I see you're getting to know our new student, (Y/n)" she commented as she made her way to the podium.
"Please be accommodating to her, I've been informed she has some memory issues following an injury she sustained" she notified the class as the few who were standing quickly got into their seats.
You followed suit and sat down to before the class started.
You eagerly took notes but you couldn't help but notice the occasional glances both Edelgard and an ebony haired man shot at you. Why were they continuously looking at you like you were going to do something?
When class ended you decided to try and talk to Edelgard. You followed her as she left but was quickly stopped by the man who had been staring at you earlier.
"What do you intend to do?" he asked you with venom dripping off of his words.
"I want to talk to Edelgard" you explained, you attempted to pass him but he grabbed you by the wrist.
"I cannot allow that," he replied.
"So I'm not allowed to talk to my sister? I don't understand why I can't" you said as you pulled your hand out of his grip.
"Tell me, why can't I?" you continued.
"My job is to protect her highness at all cost" he replied, not really giving you a proper answer. It hurt like a knife to be told you weren't even allowed to talk to your own sister who you loved and adored and the way he looked at you with those eyes made you feel like you were a horrible person. What did you do to deserve such treatment? To be identified as a threat to your own sister.
You couldn't take it anymore. You turned away.
"I understand the concern for my sister…" you just sniffled, holding in your tears before walking the other way. You didn't know where you were going, you just walked you ended up in what you assumed was the training ground. Your eyes fell onto a blonde haired man wielding a lance with ease. You stood and watched him. His movements had you in a trance.
'If only I could wield a lance like that' you thought to yourself. Perhaps that's what you'd do. Professor Manuela had informed you that the students of the academy participated in monthly missions where students would fight alongside the knights of Seiros. So it was best if you learnt how to wield a weapon soon.
You took mental notes on how he manoeuvred. Perhaps tomorrow you'd come back and train.

The next day was much the same as before. You had questions thrown your way about being a Hresvelg. Still Edelgard and the ebony man who's name was Hubert watched you closely. The brunette yesterday who'd introduced herself as Dorathea sat next to you and chatted with you during breaks. She was a former opera singer from the mittlefrank opera company. She reminded you of your oldest sister Karoline, she had been fair and loved to sing.
"I don't understand why Edelgard is avoiding me" you sighed. You'd already explained your memory dilemma to her and she'd been very supportive. Offering you any help you'd need.
"Edie's probably just in shock. I'm sure you two will be comfortable with each other again, maybe just do your own thing. You're both still in each other's presence, she'll see you living your life and she'll have to start talking to you again" she explained.
"It's much the same with adoring men" she commented.
Maybe she was right, you should try and be independent. Just give Edelgard some time.
"That sounds like a good idea" you replied.
"So do you want to have some afternoon tea after class?" She asked.
"I was actually planning on going to the training ground for a bit, since I'll have to be ready for whatever this month's mission is but I'd be happy to have dinner with you at the dining hall" you replied.
"Understandable, dinner sounds great thought" replied with a smile.

When class ended you grabbed your things and put them back in your room before making your way to the training ground. You made your way to a stand that held all the training lances and grabbed one, to your surprise they were a bit heavier than you thought. You stood in one spot and attempted to swing it around, you struggled a fair bit, nearly falling in the process. You wondered how that man yesterday made it look so easy.
You got lost in your thoughts, trying to figure out how to use the lance. Not noticing that the blonde haired man approached you.
"Try putting your right foot back a little more" he suggested, snapping you out of your thoughts.
"Oh, thank you" you thanked as you repositioned yourself like he suggested.
"Is this your first time wielding a lance? I'd be more than willing to teach you" he offered.
"Thank you…" you replied.
"Dimitri" he said.
"Yes, thank you Dimitri" you said with a nod.
"It is no problem, I assumed you'd be here trying out a lance after yesterday" he said.
"You saw me?" You muttered. Rather flustered.
"There's nothing wrong with watching me spar, I'm flattered to have inspired you to try it out" he reassured you.
"Bend your knees and try to swing now" he said as he took a few steps back.
You followed his instruction before swinging the lance. His advice helped, you didn't feel like you were going to lose your balance, yet something still felt off.
"Did that help?" He asked.
"It did but something still feels off" you replied. His blue eyes inspected you as he walked back to you.
"Try moving this hand closer to the head" he told you as he tapped on your dominant hand and moved his finger to the new spot.
Again you followed his instruction and he gave you room to swing again. This time it felt much easier.
"That was an excellent swing, with some more practice I'm sure you'll wield a lance with no issue" he praised you.
"Thank you Dimitri" you thanked him.
"Could you teach me some more? Only if you're willing to of course" you asked him.
"Of course, I believe training together would benefit us both…" he replied. He paused for a second before speaking again.
"Forgive my rudeness, It slipped my mind to even ask your name" he apologised.
"It's fine, my name is (y/n)" you replied as you held out your hand to shake his. You didn't want to share your last name as it had only caused you drama since attending.
"You are Edelgard's sister?" He asked as he took your hand and shook it.
"Ah you already know" a sliver of disappointment escaped your mouth.
"Word travels fast around the monastery," he replied.
"It is a near impossible feat to keep a secret here" continued.

Feeling Safe - My Adventures With Superman
i am a big sap!!! i love romance and i love fluff and i lois and clark!!! i just needed to write something soft and fluffy (and a little handsy) and low stakes because we don't always get moments like that in the series proper (more episodes for season 3 please????)
---
Lois let out a low sigh as she watched the darkening city through the window of her apartment, stars poking their way into the night and lights from buildings and cars flickering on.
Clark had flown off right as he arrived at her place, hearing a cry for help in the distance. He looked guilty as Lois opened the door, but she could only smile and wave him off. He didn’t seem too worried, just apologetic that their evening together had already hit a snag. She would find out who needed his help once he got back.
Clark being Superman was almost as normal as anything in Metropolis. Helping him maintain his lives as the gentle reporter and the powerful hero was kind of like getting groceries now.
Before Lois could find herself too lost in her thoughts, she opened her window to allow Superman’s easy, swift entry to her apartment. She wasn’t too sure when he would be done, but she had a feeling it wouldn’t be too much longer before her boyfriend would be back.
And with a whoosh, there was a rush of wind and the sound of her window closing again.
“Sorry about that,” Clark said gently. “It was a purse theft…”
She turned around to see him, hand still on the window. He also still had the apologetic look on his face.
Lois smiled and gave him a small chuckle, walking toward him. “Just another moment in the life of Superman.”
“Oh,” he looked down at himself, dressed in his now-iconic blue and red. “Let me change.”
Something quickly welled up in Lois’ chest as she saw Clark move to whiz past and she let out a quick noise to stop him, putting up a hand to get his attention.
He looked back at her, tilting his head curiously.
Lois felt her cheeks heat up, her mind now putting words to the sudden feeling she had.
The suit made it clear just how powerfully-built Clark was, and being alone with him dressed this way…Lois felt her ears start to burn now. She saw him like this all the time, it wasn’t anything new, and with his hair pushed back the way it was, it suited him perfectly somehow.
She could see Clark’s cheeks start to flush now too, and she let out a loud sigh, vigorously shaking her head. This was a silly train of thought to follow right now–they were going to settle down and watch a movie together, Lois doing her best to point out inconsistencies or potential plot holes and they would have a nice, quiet evening together, snuggled up next to him. Now was not the time to ogle him, body built by hard, honest farm work…
“Lois?” Clark’s voice shook her out of her once-again-racing thoughts.
She looked up at him, his smile as kind and sweet as always.
“Sorry, I just…guess I realized that I…” She paused as the heat in her face was becoming uncomfortable. She stepped even closer to him, gently running her hand across the emblem on his chest. “I don’t really see you dressed in your suit unless you’re flying me somewhere or catching me in midair.”
“Oh, uh, well, I can put off getting changed for a little while,” he replied with a low, nervous laugh, his voice shaky.
The feeling of the suit under Lois’ fingers was mesmerizing. There was no danger and nothing to run from or investigate, so her hands carefully traced back out from the emblem and onto the rest of his chest. It was smooth, somehow simultaneously hard and soft, unlike any material she had felt before, but Clark’s warmth underneath made it feel familiar.
Lois was caught off guard by the feeling of Clark pulling her closer into him, gently resting his hands on the small of her back.
“How does it feel?” His voice was quiet, blush still coloring his cheeks. Lois could see the sincerity of his question in the way his eyes darted along the ground.
“Like nothing I’ve ever felt before, honestly.” Lois let her hands wander from Clark’s chest to down his sides, solid like the rest of him.
Suit and person, Lois admitted to herself.
Would the suit feel the same without Clark underneath? Or did he make the suit special, feeling the way it did? She smiled, feeling him tuck some of her hair behind her ear.
His bright blue eyes were focused on her, his gaze soft and somehow intense.
Maybe this wasn’t the time to get philosophical about a superhero’s identity, much less someone she already knew the answer about.
He made it special. He made everything special.
And she had him all to herself right now.
Lois smiled, taking Clark’s hand in hers. It was large, soft, and warm–much like the rest of him.
She pulled him along to the couch, his steps quiet and careful. As if he had read her mind, Clark laid himself down on the couch, now gently pulling Lois down on top of him.
Lois rested herself comfortably on his torso, pressing her cheek to his chest. The material had its strange, alien-yet-familiar sensation on her skin. But it was warm, and she slid her arms to wrap around his chest as best as she could.
She felt safe. That was the best word to describe the feeling.
She knew it wasn’t an adjective you’d necessarily use to describe fabric, but that’s all it could be to her. Anytime she had felt it against her hands, she felt safe.
Pressed against his wide, strong chest, his warm hands holding her close…
Lois chuckled, snuggling herself further into his chest–soft and gentle in this moment. She could feel Clark running his fingers through her short hair, tenderly tracing a line down her neck and resting on her back.
“Did you…still want to watch the movie?” Clark asked, his voice resonating from his chest into Lois’ cheek.
She smiled, shaking her head.
“Not yet. I like what we have going on right now, Smallville.” Lois moved her head to look up at Clark’s face. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach. “Still enjoying the way you feel.”
It was a bold way to answer, but something about the way she rested on him gave her courage. He gave her a bit of a surprised, bashful look, but his eyes softened on her again. She closed her eyes and let out a content sigh, rubbing her cheek on his chest.
Clark let out a low laugh, his hands gently rubbing her back.
“I’m glad.”
