being in a relationship with baek dohwa is anything but easy. if its not his endless teasing, its the jealous fangirls. if its not them, then its the constant questioning from others about your relationship

to put it simply, it was hard work

but then, nothing worthwhile was ever simple and straightforward, and there was never a day where you didnt feel loved and appreciated by dohwa, so it worked out perfectly fine. if you believed in soulmates, then you wholeheartedly thought that baek dohwa was yours, and you were his.

the two of you met through sooae, as she was a mutual friend between you both. she had introduced you two and all of you, including eunhyeok, had started hanging out more often

however, sooae started to 'conveniently' bail on days where the four of you had planned to go out, and began to drag eunhyeok with her, leaving dohwa and you alone. during these times, the two of you began to spend more time with each other, resulting in a stronger 'friendship' between you and him. you two quickly became the other's best friend, and could always be seen next to each other

however, as expected, there was backlash to your friendship with dohwa. almost daily, you had random girls coming up to the two of you and bothering you and him, always causing some sense of awkwardness even after they had left. the fact that you may have started crushing on your best friend didnt help either, jealousy always brewing inside you whenever some other girl took his attention away. it wasnt ideal to like someone who only saw you as their best friend, but it couldnt be helped. practically nobody was immune to his 'charm'

unknown to you, on the other hand, was that dohwa had been feeling the same as you had been. keeping his own feelings under wraps was difficult, even for someone like him. every hug, head pat .. any form of affection that the two of you shared had his head spinning and stomach flipping. also, whenever you interacted with a guy that wasnt him, especially someone like eunhyeok, all dohwa felt was a wave of jealousy. dohwa had never truly felt like this for anyone before, and he had absolutely no idea what to do about it. confessing was nearly out of the question. sure, he received almost a dozen a day and he knew how to kindly shut people down, but he didnt know how to actually do it himself

you two were completely oblivious to the other, and it drove sooae and eunhyeok insane. in the end, eunhyeok managed to convince dohwa to "grow some fucking balls and confess", suggesting that he slip you a note during class before his confession

it was the last period of the day - mathematics. you could barely keep your eyes open and your head laid against your desk. closing your heavy eyelids, you were about to fall asleep when you felt a scrunched up piece of paper hit the side of your head. groaning, you sat up and turned to your right, glaring at dohwa, who had thrown the note at you. taking the paper in your hands, you unfolded the note and read its contents,

'meet me by the gate after school'

was all it read. you turned to face dohwa with a confused expression on your face, but he was already facing the teacher again, seeming to be unaware of your stare. sighing , you put the paper into your skirt pocket and waited for the class to end

half an hour later, you walked out of your class and down towards the shoe lockers, changing out of your slippers into your outdoor shoes, and made your way to where dohwa had asked you to meet him. dohwa was stood next to the school gate, phone in hand. as you approached him, you noticed that his facial expression was different from its normal relaxed state - he looked nervous. making your way to his side, you prodded his shoulder, eliciting a small jump from the male before he realised that it was you

"well, im here. did you need something?" you asked your best friend, slightly curious as to why he wanted to see you here instead of the two of you walking home as per usual. "yeah, i kinda wanted to tell you something.." he trailed off, shoving his now turned-off phone in his pocket before averting his gaze from your face. "for the past few months, i guess that .. uh", he hid his reddened face in his hand, "well, i like you. a lot, and not in a friend way" dohwa finished, now reduced to a embarrassed and blushing state. your face mimicked his own, cheeks flushed and the tips of your ears tinted a bright red. wrapping your arms around his torso, you hid your face in his chest, muttering out your own confession. dohwa smiled at your words, leaning down to press a kiss on the crown of your head, holding your body in his arms

dohwa as a boyfriend is quite similar to how he was as a best friend; nothing much changed about him. except now, he was much more affectionate and very open about it

you could be talking with your friends during breaks between classes and you would feel arms snaking around your waist, and dohwas face in your neck, pressing gentle kisses down your shoulder. your friends would greet him and just continue the conversation, already used to his affection towards you

even the teachers eventually found out, and would coo whenever they saw the two of you together, even nudging each other when they saw dohwa carrying your bag or bringing you a bouquet of flowers at the beginning of the day during independent study. all of your shared teachers had secretly bet on the possibility of the two of you dating, and were some of your biggest supporters not that they were allowed to mention anything though..

thankfully, your parents also approved of your relationship with dohwa, already knowing him very well from all the times that he would stay over your place. they both thought that dohwa treated you well, and even your father treated him like a son. if you have siblings, it doesnt matter if theyre older or younger, dohwa would ensure to spend time with them and maintain a positive relationship with the entirety of your family

arguments between the two of you were extremely rare, as you both understood each other well. but if they did occur, apologies followed soon after and it was almost a rule that you wouldnt go to bed angry with each other, always finding a resolution to whatever had happened. the following morning, dohwa would always buy you breakfast from your favourite bakery and give you an item off of your wishlist as a further apology from the argument, especially if he had been the one in the wrong

your relationship with dohwa was next to perfect, with all of your friends using you two as the 'perfect relationship mould' for their future partners. there was balance in the relationship and you ensured to always have enough time for each other if either one of you were out with your friends for the day. what was the most important thing, however, was that he loved you and you loved him, something that couldnt ever be changed.

THE USUALLY busy street was quiet at this time of night. Nothing was heard except for Baek dohwa’s footsteps on the ground as he walked threw the empty street.

A tiny convenient store was open. The bright neon pink sign that had ‘OPEN’ written on it showed to was open alongside with the clear windows that showed a clerk and a single customer who the blonde couldn’t make out.

Hungry, or practically starving dohwa entered the store a tiny sound from the bell on the door made his presence known.

he looked at the isles passed them one by one, grabbing one of those make your own food kids toys to make for fun.

That’s when he noticed a figure that looked very oddly like a girl he knows. Dohwa moved closer glancing a peak and realizing it was.

it was Y/n. The prettiest girl in school. Well besides him of course. Dohwa felt a grin make its way to his face as he moved closer to her and waved.

“y/n it’s surprising to see you here” he finally spoke, The girl wore a blue hat and a pair of regular pants with a shirt that had a character he didn’t recognize on it.

She turned to face him finally noticing his existence. “It’s surprising to see you too dohwa what are you doing here at this hour?” She questioned back holding the basket ever so tightly.

“I just finished my shift and was hungry.” He stared at the tiny box in between his fingers and added. “If your free wanna make these with me?..also what are you picking out?” He asked starring at the contents of the basket.

“it’s some strawberry candy for me and su-ae to try later” she ignored his first question clearly declining it she placed the candy in the basket and made her way to the counter.

she placed item by item not paying attention to the cashier. “Hey want my number?” The cashier asked grabbing a hold of her wrist. “Miss you’re really pretty and I’ve seen you here for a while so you must be interested in me right?. Give me your number”

She tried yanking her wrist from his hold clearly uncomfortable not knowing how to respond.

The items on the counter were pushed to the cash register as dohwa leaned into the cashier causing him to let go of her wrist.

“how about you take my number instead yeah? Here I’ll give it to you” he added a smile on his lips as he grabbed his wrist the same way.

a few minutes later, the two were seated at the park benches next to each other water on the side as they worked on the kids toy in-front of them.

“thank you” she finally spoke breaking the silence, her appearance glowing in the light of the street lamp ontop of them.

“your welcome thanks for doing this with me though” he added his fingers fumbling with the cutting of some plastic.

“You know dohwa…your not as weird as I thought” she added not meeting his gaze.

“you thought I was weird?” He queered surprise in his voice

eunhyuk had arrived a bit earlier then expected. you both had agreed to meet up at the train station a few hours after school to go watch a movie together. the initial plan was to go together immediately after school, but lets just say something abruptly came up that you had delay it by a few hours.

he was aimlessly scrolling through his phone, as he was trying to think of a reason as to why you suddenly delayed your plan. as if on cue, the song that reminded him of you played on his earphones. his lips slightly quirked upwards, remembering the times where you both had just started the relationship. the times where you would introduce him to the songs that piqued your interests, the songs you would both listen to on the bus on the way to school.

he looked at the time, it was already 3.55 pm. the movie you both were going to see is at 4.30, and the agreed time for you to meet each other at the train station was 3.45 pm. 'i guess she still has something to deal with' was what he thought as he looked around the station. everyone was busy minding their own business and tending to their own lives.

once again, eunhyuk finds himself staring at the people passing in and out of the entrance, hoping to find a familiar figure amidst all the crowd, you. just as he was lost in daze, he spotted you trying to go through the flock of people finding their way out

eunhyuk stepped towards your direction and reached out his hand with the intention of pulling you out to a less crowded place.

he grabbed your right hand and dragged you to a less cramped space. he wondered if you suddenly gained more weight overnight, it was just the fact that he didn't recall you being this particular weight when he had pulled you to his side.

"ah, eunhyuk! you're here already" you beamed as the familiar sight of his facial features come into vision.

before eunhyuk could reply to your greeting, he noticed a hand clutching onto your left hand, a male's. looking right past your shoulder was another familiar figure with eyes that match their blonde golden hair. even if he's wearing a cap, his features wear easy to distinguish.

"gee y/n, why'd you suddenly walked so fast" grumbled the said blonde

"baek dohwa." eunhyuk spat out coldly, glaring at him "what are you doing with my girlfriend and may i ask why you're grasping onto her hand so desperately?" emphasizing the word 'my'.

"well your girlfriend here insisted on me coming" dohwa scoffed, also emphasizing the word 'your'.

eunhyuk could feel turmoil raging in his heart, the weird feeling he would feel whenever he sees you being with someone else other than him. was it sadness he felt? anger? was he angry that you decided to spend your time on with someone else?

he didn't know. from what he could tell, baek dohwa was nothing but a playboy.

"uhm-" you stepped in the middle of both of them "eunhyuk if we don't get going were going to miss our train" eunhyuk gritted his teeth "lets go."

you trailed behind you boyfriend, looking back and waving a quite goodbye to dohwa. dohwa waved back at you with a smirk.

glancing back at your raven haired partner, his dissatisfied expression definitely noticeable.

"are you mad?" you questioned "no" he answered, a hidden tone that somewhat made it sound as if he was mad.

the sound of both your footsteps being heard amidst the bustling crowds, you checked time on your phone, it was already 4.05

both of you had probably missed the train at this point, oh well.

you stopped in your tracks, pulling eunhyuk gently by the hand, also stopping him. your eyes met his gaze, his eyebrows quirking up, 'why'd you stop?' clearly written on his face, as if he's annoyed

"you know dohwa's my cousin, right?" you sighed, as if the blonde being your cousin isn't a known fact going around your school, your boyfriend just so happens to not know

"what?" confusion now painted all over his facial features yep. he definitely didn't know.

"i was heading towards here and bumped into him on the way, he decided to tag along even when i told him to mind his own business" you scoffed, being used to his antics by now

"oh i see.." he replied, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, contemplating what to say next "so are we going to catch that movie, or..?"

you chuckled, grabbing a hold of his hand "sure, lets go"
