sorry sorry but it truly is buck fucking wild how much the US incentivizes and rewards homeownership in tax law and public policy while it remains firmly out of reach for so many people. under the current economic system, assisting ppl with accessing homeownership is good but reforms are needed to level the playing field between owners and renters bc it is SO unequal.

#i felt relief selling my condo bc my neighbors sucked & i wanted to be closer to friends & family but also SO unclean throughout the process #idk how house flippers do it bc i felt like i was complicit in a corrupt system even tho (ethical questions aside) it's entirely legal #which like. i'd call the system morally bankrupt and corrupt*ing* but accepting an above list offer is 100% legal tho it feels 🤢#like just vile vile vile given the sums of money involved #(also if you buy never ever EVER live somewhere with an HOA)

my parents were almost convinced to buy a different house before getting married, but they refused because it was still being built and didn't want to wait a few more months to move in together. and guess what that house is still not finished 25 years later
