Spontaneously decided to join a 24 hour readathon- I normally read most of the day so it’s not really anything new for me haha but I’ve always wanted to join one but I either find out about it too late and miss it. I’ve joined the #basicallyreadathon hosted by brittalsemgeest 

I’m not starting a new book, as a few days ago I decided to re-read The Priory of the Orange Tree. So I will be continuing with that and just see how much of it I can read today. 

I honestly don’t know what came over me to remember NOTHING about this book. I just think last year when I read it, it was a very weird time for me emotionally so I wasn’t as focused as I am now. Even though its a really strange time for the world right now- I guess emotionally speaking, I’m doing a lot better than I was in the first part of last year.

Whilst I have read the first book in the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley I forgot most of it. Who wore it better? 💁‍♀️ . I read The Children of Jocasta on Saturday for the #basicallyreadathon and I really enjoyed it. I gave it 4 ⭐️s. . It’s also the second book I finished for the #mythtakereadathon and it fit the prompt to read a mythology retelling (Oedipus and Antigone). . I didn’t dislike it at the start, but I was a little confused. I was quickly sucked in, however, and I soon fell in love with the story. The characters were amazing and so was Natalie Haynes’ writing. . I’ll definitely be checking out her other books soon and I’ll probably buy my own copy of this too in time! . Someone pleeeease tell me I’m not insane. . This is my TBR for the #mythtakereadathon (a two week readathon 🤦‍♀️). I want to read all the books on this pile and I couldn’t decide which ones to focus on, so I’m going to try to rush through them all. Also, some of them are library books, so they sort of need including too... . The Hand, The Eye & The Heart - The book of the month - Asian influences The Children of Jocasta - Mythology retelling The Blue Salt Road - Animal on the cover Gumiho/Wicked Fox - Host recommendation - Written by a POC Tangleweed and Brine - Written by a woman The Kingdom of Copper - Green on the cover - Over 400 pages . Whilst there are six on here, a couple of them are shorter, so I have my fingers crossed I’ll be okay! There are also a lot that overlap, so I know which books are my priorities and which I’ll be able to get away with not finishing. . I’ll be taking advantage of the collaboration with the #basicallyreadathon too - while I won’t be reading a book that’s been on my TBR forever, I’ll definitely be trying to read as much as I can! . At #yalc on Friday, I got my copy of The Hand, The Eye & The Heart signed.
