So in the Neopets' Battledome there's a challenger called Punchbag Bob who, true to his name, doesn't fight back. However, once in a while he's replaced with Punchbag Sid, who's just Bob with an eyepatch and the ability to deal up to 20K+ damage in a single hit.

Punchbag Sid is important because you get an avatar for fighting him. The problem, however, is that TNT has to manually activate him in order for him to appear, which has not been done since 2014 (aka ten years ago).

and then yesterday they just tossed him in for 20 minutes in the middle of the day without warning. people went fucking insane

Day 24: Battledome

The old Battledome poses looked so cool, the ranged attack Usul ones especially! They're so fucking mad, they look like cats filled with all the rage and anger in the world.

i love having a baby pet as my designated battledome fiend, because every battle just looks like this

so i see a lot of frustration about the battledome portion of the void within. which makes perfect sense because the battledome is INCREDIBLY TEDIOUS. however! i have found a solution that makes it like 60% more tolerable!

the Better Battledome userscript allows you to go through a battle with - ideally - three clicks: one to start, one to attack, and one to collect winnings. it's not doing anything you wouldn't already be doing; you have an autofill weapon/skill set, and it's the same one you'd be monotonously clicking 25 times in a row, 5-7 clicks per.

i cannot overstate how much less annoying the battledome has gotten. i exhort you all to at least check it out.

How does one make a decent Battledome pet if they do not have a SAP

Welp... between the upcoming plot, spending too much NP on Cool Neggs, and deciding to update my BD pet to "Intermediate" battle items... time to start saving up again via combing through my SDB and possibly try getting into the Art Gallery again.

Also thanks to this petpage I found on the subreddit that shows stats and items for different BD opponents, I want to train my pet to fight the Snowager haha.

Man, my weekly prize this week was the sleep ray. In my 20 years of being on and off neopets I've never been a battledome player and never understood the mechanics, but I've been learning and training one of my pets to be my battle pet and it's been going pretty well.

This item has been an immense help in my bd game! I'm still in the beginner side of things on the battlepedia(my pet is only lvl 16 with 24 strength) but I was struggling with the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot, until this item.

At the beginning of the week I was considering selling it since it's worth so much and I'm still working on getting my dream pets and stuff, but now I think I'll just keep it!

fun fact I didn't know until today: the Giant Space Fungus is better than the Jetsam Ace because it can drop Bubbling Fungus on hard along with still dropping nerks and codestones, why have I not been fighting him this whole time???

Neopets discourse is always funny to me because whenever drama starts up 90% of the time it's over something that's just objectively really silly

For example, right now there's neo-billionaires threatening to quit the site over a rare item being released, which wouldn't be funny except the item in question is a tiny pea wearing a Santa hat
