i love that that scene w Baz at the Crown and Anchor just lead to everyone assuming baz is gay w the west ham guy
like there’s definitely no possibility that baz just felt bad for his friend, no it’s actually a sad love story about two men that are in love but cannot be together because of the teams they support (wink wink) and it’s incredibly tragic and gay.
and i’m right there with you

Random finale thing I wanted to see: Baz's friend allowed to come watch the game with them in the Crown & Anchor, maybe wearing a Richmond scarf over his West Ham shirt
Yes!
And I feel like this is the type of thing that we would have seen in previous seasons which felt like they took such care with details like that.
It seems like that perfect Ted Lasso corniness to kind of mirror the healing on the field pitch between the two teams after the earlier game.
It could have been played for comedy well too. Imagine if that guy snuck in with Baz with only the Richmond scarf visible (maybe even some silly disguise facial hair or something?) and then something snags his jacket and the West Ham shirt is revealed, and everything gets very still for a moment. Then Mae slides a beer over to him, and everyone carries on.
Maybe that's too corny, but it would have been fun to see something like that.
Thanks for the ask!

I'm losing my mind over ppl (including me) hoping the person Ted was looking at in the crown and anchor was Trent bc of the heart eyes and it was just the pub lads

okay so this one might be a reach but something about the pub scene this episode struck me as familiar. the west ham fan (credited as arnold and played by ben mars) enters the pub and greets baz to which mae responds by telling him to get out because the pub is a richmond pub. baz initially defends him but proceeds to join the others in telling him to leave and they all laugh it off.
and then there’s this brief moment where baz turns so the others can’t see his expression and it’s evident that he was joining in to blend in 👀 and all i could think of was everything we’ve seen with colin in episodes 3 and 4
so my (somewhat wildcard) theory is that if colin does come out publicly we will see the positive impacts it has - one of these being baz coming out to jeremy, paul and mae and introducing arnold as his boyfriend without pretenses as we’ll hopefully see colin reintroduce michael to the team as his boyfriend rather than his ‘wingman’

Colin. Keeley. Jack. Baz (because that West Ham fan was definitely his bf). Trent (because come on. Plus the mug.)
I can't believe that we get five whole queer characters (at least!) this series.
